We started our son here when he was just 6 months old, and as a first time mom who is naturally very anxious, I was incredibly nervous about leaving him. I worried about everything. From day one, the guides took the time to get to know not just our son, but us as parents too. As time went on and as I built relationships with the team, my confidence grew because of the care, communication, and trust they created. Ms. Abi and her team have been absolutely incredible. Ms. Abi has been amazing at helping guide us through our son's milestones and development, always offering reassurance, insight, and support. Every single guide we have interacted with has shown genuine love and care for our son. My daughter has been going to Guidepost since she was 6 months old. Guidepost is an exceptional daycare that provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. The staff are warm and caring. Ms. Laura and Ms. Dora are our favorite educators and caregivers. MS. This is a long overdue review. We enrolled my daughter at GP when she was just 8 months old. We toured several places and after many interviews, we decided GP was the best choice for us. As a first time mama, returning to work was one of the hardest things I had to do. At the time, Jamie and Lan were the heads of school and I had great interactions with both. Ultimately though, Miss Abi, the Nido lead guide, is who truly helped me develop such a trust for the school and the Montessori program. My daughter is now 22 months and I wanted to share my thank you note to the Nido team: "Waaaaah! I am so sorry that this response took so long. It was stuck in my spam AND I think I was in denial with Vivi moving to the toddler class, haha. It seems like it was only yesterday that I dropped her off for her first day when she was 8 months old! I cannot express enough how grateful Jon and I are for you and your team. There's so much anxiety that parents go through when trying to find a daycare/school. Viv not only thrived in your class but she has grown to love each and every one of you. You kept our daughter safe and she developed such a deep connection and trust in your classroom. You and your team cultivated that connection and built upon it. We couldn't have asked for a better first teacher. Thank you for helping us raise a confident infant/toddler - we couldn't have survived the last year without you all. The new heads of school, Ms. Lorine and Ms. Dora have made INCREDIBLE updates to the school: they transformed the lobby area into a cozy and welcoming space! There's light atmospheric music playing when you walk in, an oil diffuser with a clean scent, just little things that make you breathe a sigh of relief upon entering. The classrooms each have a mini bulletin board with updates. They have had technological/app updates that I feel are much better. This year they even offered extracurricular activities: yoga, gymnastics, dance, etc., and that's something I wanted for my child. Not only was she getting a Montessori education, but she had the opportunity to participate in other classes. I wanted to give Ms. Laura and Ms. Monica, the toddler's lead guide, a shoutout for stepping in when the former lead guide unexpectedly left. They have made my daughter's transition truly memorable. I can't wait to see what they have in store for the rest of her toddler journey. Finally, the community engagement has been much more fun and vibrant! The leadership team and staff have also been forthcoming with the changes and have kept the lines of communication open. The toddler teachers have also offered various parenting workshops: toileting, independence, etc. I feel like there is always a school function or workshop, it's truly amazing to see the passion they have for our children's growth and development. We have been here for two years, with kids that have completed third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade. What stands out the most is the caliber of teachers in the elementary program. For the elementary school, Ms. Cherish and Ms. Lori lead a nurturing, exciting, and appropriately challenging classroom for everyone. In particular, my daughter has discovered a love of poetry, which she never experienced until she went to Guidepost. Ms. Cherish has done a great job encouraging my daughter to explore different types of poetry, reading poetry and of course, writing it as well. Equally importantly, my daughter has seen Ms. Cherish demonstrate important character traits such as patience, kindness, compassion which I know will pave the path for her and her peers to become well-rounded, contributing members of society. In addition, the assistant guide Ms. Devyn is great with all the kids - they love her! My daughter actually asks to stay in the afterschool care (included as part of tuition) because she likes the activities. The class pet is a great addition, and the school also deserves 5 stars for a diverse classroom (as far as south OC goes). No school is perfect, but this is very close to it - with much of it being attributed to the teachers. read more

If I could, I'd give this school zero stars. If you want your children with exhausted, overworked teachers then this is the school for you. We were apart of this school for almost 3 years for both of our kids. There have been so many staff changes from teachers to head of school. No consistency. Regional management is a joke. They only care about money coming in. Most do not follow the Montessori teachings. Head of school display blatant favoritism with children. We left bc our children was just not safe due to another child. Multiple meetings of what can be done just for them to point the finger back at my child. A lot of shit talking about parents from admin. That school is a joke now. Their head of school has completely tanked it. The current head is still there, Jaimee R has completely ruined the school. They don't report incidents the way they are suppose to. She all nice and wants to be your bff when you first meet her but then when problems arise, she avoid conflict and acts like a victim. She cannot handle any issue properly. I caught her reprimanding my oldest, her back to was me and my husband. She notice my son saw me and she turned around. Freaked out and LITERALLY ran. Nearly running me over. Not saying a word. She look frightened. And never explained what the fuck happened for her to sit my son down, "talk to him" while he look terrified and couldn't even move to come to me even though I signaled for him to come to me. She cried to regional and they couldn't even give me an explanation. I have emails upon emails of them defending her actions. That's just one example of how much of a joke she is. This also happened less than 2 months ago. All whilst Lan N, who apparently left, she was the assistant can always be seen holding her child and carrying him around, could not report incidents immediately like they are suppose to by state law. On multiple occasions I received text messages of injuries that happened HOURS prior all for me to be informed 15 mins to an hour before I picked up my kids. Regional is zero support but demands and request a lot of meetings to go in circles. Reconsider sending your child to this "premier" Montessori school. Where to start. Guidepost was the best possible place for my daughter for the 2.5 years she attended. My daughter's teachers cared deeply and spent great effort meeting and adjusting to her needs. I felt that she was safe and valued every day. For our first 1.5 years, there was a lot of turnover and chaos in the leadership at the school. This was disruptive but didn't bother me too much since the teachers made the classroom feel calm and stable. Last June, however, a new Head of School joined Guidepost. She is phenomenal. A couple of months later she brought in a new Assistant Head of School who is equally amazing. Now, in addition to exceptional teachers, the leadership is strong, communicative, and kind. It makes a huge difference. Your child will be cherished here. And will maybe see duck eggs incubate and hatch. My son attended public school and while he got good grades. I noticed him coming home saying and asking about very inappropriate words. I thought it was just part of school. This summer I signed him up for Guidepost and all of our Family and Grandparents have noticed he has really matured into a well spoken and polite young man. All of those bad words have disappeared out of his vocabulary and when I go to pick him up. He doesn't want to leave . Hugging all his friends good-bye. The teachers are wonderful. The environment fosters respect and growth. The environment is not competitive and the children all support one another under the guidance of the wonderful Teachers and Principal. Based on our personal experience of having our child enrolled at Guidepost, I would not recommend this school to any parent. While we are extremely grateful that our child's teachers were outstanding the entire time we were there, we cannot say the same about the corporation that owns all Guidepost schools, Higher Ground Education, Inc. Our child was enrolled for 10.5 months; and during that short period there were a total of 3 Heads of School, several teachers and other administrative staff resigned, and abuse allegations were made against one teacher. On March 9, 2023, we received communication from the Head of School that a teacher's aid was put on administrative leave. The e-mail was very vague and spoke about how the individual needed a break to recharge for an undetermined period to reflect on her journey in education and take some time to herself and her family. Within a week, more information came out through other parents (not the administration) that there were allegations that several children were affected by abuse from this teacher. Trigger warning: Per the police report filed with the Orange County Sheriff's Department (Report DR# 23-008774), "On 3/9/23, [head of school's name redacted] was approached by seven of her employees who were concerned about a teachers aid named [teacher's name redacted]. The employees felt [teacher's name redacted] was being both physically and verbally aggressive towards the students. The employees stated [teacher's name redacted] would verbally abuse the children by calling them "losers" and telling them to "Hit other children because they deserve it". They also alleged [teacher's name redacted] would also slam kids down on their feet hard and slam them on bicycles seats when asked to ride a bicycle." Unfortunately, several teachers reported these allegations to the prior administration sometime at the end of 2022, but due to the administration turnover, these allegations were not taken seriously until March by the new Head of School. This negligent oversight enabled the abuse of children to continue for months after the first allegations were made. We are extremely lucky that our child was not directly affected by this teacher; however, after the abuse allegations came to light, we had severe anxiety dropping off our child to school. Every day we worried that a teacher outside of our child's two teachers would harm our child. There was one day that both the lead and assistant teacher were out, so we did not have our child go to school that day because we did not trust anyone other than our child's teachers. During the 10.5 month period my child was enrolled, the school received 3 citations. One citation was because a child was left out in the play-yard without any supervision from staff (4/10/23). Another parent, who was picking up their own child, had noticed the child was alone on the play-yard without any staff present. As for security, there were no working cameras. In fact, there weren't any cameras installed in the front exterior or playground area. We received communication on May 17, 2023, that front exterior cameras were installed and that two exterior cameras would be installed in the playground. It took two months after the abuse allegations to get the cameras installed and working. Also, to enter the school only a short numerical code is required to enter and most of the time, no employees were monitoring who was coming into the school. The lack of monitoring made us fearful about the ease in which someone could gain access to the classrooms. Our child's teachers were outstanding despite all the challenging events that occurred, but it was difficult to see them not being taken care of by the administration. We truly hope Higher Ground Education will provide better benefits for the teachers because they are the heart of the school. The only reason we did not leave after March was because we trusted and loved our child's teachers. They showed better leadership skills than the administration throughout those 10.5 months. The administration has demonstrated a complete and utter disregard for the safety of children. Enticing parents to leave positive reviews in exchange for raffle tickets further demonstrates that the priority of the school is rooted in preserving its reputation, and not in the safety of children. Guidepost knows no parent is going to write a bad review in exchange for a raffle ticket and intentionally uses raffle tickets as a mechanism to garner positive reviews. I am deeply disappointed at the administration for the way they handled the abuse allegations and in the way they have handled the safety of children at the school and the well-being of their teachers. read more

Adding on that I'm really thankful to the Nido team for doing a fantastic job with my second child. They were able to get my stubborn child on the bottle when we were unsuccessful at home. Myriam, my older child's Children House teacher is also the most loving teacher we could ask for. My eldest has had a hard time dealing with the change of having a younger sibling and Myriam has been there holding our hand every step of the way by helping my eldest navigate her feelings, giving her a sense of responsibility, and making sure to cater to my daughter's love language. read more

I get the ick thinking about my experiences here a couple of years ago, and still hate driving by it everyday. Parents, be very vigilant of the incidents that happen to your baby. I had a Nido enrolled, and I understand they explore and can get hurt. My baby scraped the side of his face and his nose badly falling off a bike one Friday. I was handed an incident report which was signed by the director. On Monday, we walk in and the director says to me, "Wow what happened? Got into mischief and mommy not paying attention?" I was hot. THIS WAS UNDER YOUR CARE FRIDAY! HERE! She says, "Really? Hmm. I don't remember. Okay." I was there 6 months and signed 4 incidents in which they say is rare. One of them was a bad bite. Another baby with a mouth full of teeth bit my baby's finger badly. They told me they will separate the babies and won't be sitting them together any more. Literally a few days later, I get pictures sent and there's the baby... sitting beside my son again. No one cares. Also, your clothes, diapers, wipes are just shared like a community. I see my baby's clothes on others all the time. They would also use my diapers or wipes on other babies and message me to bring more... then realize they've been using it on the wrong baby. Imagine if your baby has sensitive skin and they're using other homes' items! read more

Montessori schools really set your child up for success and they learn all sorts of great things like self-care, taking care of plants, cleaning up, using grace and courtesy words in addition to learning the basics into reading and math. After learning about the Montessori method and implementing the techniques at home, my wife and I knew it was time to start looking for a Montessori school for our toddler to further his development. With so many great schools in the area, the search was on. We did virtual tours with a couple schools and one in person tour at Guidepost. We felt like Guidepost was the perfect fit and we took the leap and enrolled our son. We are elated with Guidepost and are continually blown away by how thoughtful and organized everything is. The guides (teachers) are incredibly warm, talented, hard-working, intelligent and most of all -- caring. Our son absolutely loves his guides! The administrative staff is amazing too. After a very long search, we finally found a school that we love. We had a very enjoyable and professional introduction to the facility and the curriculum by Diana and Sarah (Head and Assistant Head of school). The sign-up process was all digitalized, very fast, and hassle-free. At every step, you can feel that the place is run by smart people who know what they are doing. Our children were then assigned to Ms. Gaby and Ms. Shahzia's classroom. We loved both of them (as well as their assistants in the afternoon) from the first day, but the even better news is that our children loved the whole team as well. Both our kids felt very comfortable and loved their experience at school from the first day. Their classmates and their parents are all great people. We ended up moving to Guidepost Montessori after keeping our kids at home most of the first year of the pandemic. We realized in November our oldest (9 year old 3rd grader) really needed to be back in person and after touring many schools in the area decided GP Foothill Ranch was the best fit for her. They also happened to have a space in preschool for her sister to start in January so we went all in and haven't looked back. I was concerned about the kids wearing masks all day but it hasn't been an issue at all. They get time to play outdoors and can take mask breaks as needed. The school is very clean and we feel comfortable with all their COVID precautions. We love the independence it's teaching our kids and helping them to be more self sufficient and take control of their learning. Overall, we're very happy and plan to keep them there next year and likely through elementary. It will be great to see what happens with Guidepost and if they are able to open a larger elementary and middle school in the area because I believe that is planned. Only other feedback is that during COVID it's been hard to connect with other families as we haven't had any school events and can't go inside during drop-off. However, the kids have made lots of friends so we're happy there. It will also be nice once they can start doing field trips again. read more

My daughter has been attending this school since she was about 3 months old. The Nido community is wonderful -- the guides are so patient, kind, and trustworthy. We are so grateful for them! If I could give a zero, I would. This is my personal and direct experience as a parent who sent their kid to this school. Most of these "5-star reviews" are parents who were encouraged to do so during a raffle. We were encouraged to write the "best" review. *RED FLAG* I am writing my personal review because a great deal of parents (like myself), rely on accurate social media reviews to chose a daycare or school for our children. Since my son started there June 2022, 2 head of schools left, 1 assistant head of school, 3 lead guides (1 returned after change in leadership) and 5 assistant guides (1 got terminated for physically and emotionally harming the children-which I will get into more detail because my son was 1 of 7 children affected). That is a total of 10 people in a year who have left (not including the person who returned). No consistency for our children. *RED FLAG* During the months of October 2022-March 2023, my son would cry during drop offs and pick ups. We didn't know why, we thought it was normal toddler behavior. We were then notified that our son by the current head of school at the time on 3/2023 that our son experienced abuse by an assistant guide who was first put on administrative leave then terminated a few days later after interviewing staff who corroborated the allegations. Specific examples of witnessed abuse against my son included this person intentionally tripping him when he was running outside, pulling him by his arm and pinning him down in his chair to sit by his shoulders. These were only the witnessed accounts. The current head of school told us that these concerns about abuse were told to prior head of school who left end of 2022 but nothing was followed up. Which breaks my heart as a parent to think all this abuse was ongoing without further investigation. *RED FLAG* We wanted to leave at that moment when they disclosed all the abuse information but the head of school insisted we stay to make things right since that employee was terminated. We agreed only under the contingency that if we saw any emotional distress in our son, we would be leaving the school. He was having serious behavioral issues/changes. He probably didn't feel safe at that school so we left. I would never recommend this place. Another huge *RED FLAG* is when there are multiple violations posted on their front door for the public to view. Hope our feedback and experience help other families make an informed decision. read more

With mask requirements (including the children, YES, thank you!) and updated cleaning and contact tracing procedures our son was able to go back to school and has done so well back in class. We are impressed with the "Children's House" program (ages 3-6). If you are looking for an authentic Montessori environment, you will find it at Guidepost. From the mixed age classrooms, to the properly used materials, to the respect for the child's own growth and work choices, Guidepost is a great place to be. From a practical standpoint, parent/school communication is excellent with great communication to both the office staff and the teachers. Updated review from my last one about 6 months ago: we have been coming here since my daughter was 18 months (over 2 years). We have seen this place go thru it all! We chose to ride the roller coaster thru the administrative changes because we truly believe that this school is a gem. The teachers they staff are some kind of MAGIC and we knew that with the right leadership, this school could continue to flourish! When Jaimee and Lan (head of school and assistant head of school) came in, after lots of turn over in leadership, things began to feel different! Their visibility sparked a new light in the campus. They have been such a warm and needed addition for our school! I truly believe there is no perfect school and that so much depends on the treatment of the staff to trickle down to the children. I know that our leadership is loving on our teachers and parents the way they deserve which makes for happy kiddos!! We will continue our time at Guidepost because there really is nothing like it ;) read more

My family and I moved to Irvine a few months ago, and were disheartened to hear of the long waiting lists at various schools within the city of Irvine. After some searching, we stumbled upon Guidepost Montessori in Lake Forest (a short commute from Irvine) and we couldn't have been happier with our selection. The staff at Guidepost are so welcoming and friendly. You are always greeted with a smiling face and genuine conversations. Over the past few months, we have seen so much growth in my son. All thanks to his wonderful teachers - Ms. Roohi and Ms. Edith. They are very patient and consistent with the children. They work very hard to help the children gain practical and life skills and celebrate the small victories, I.e. my son walking towards the potty without being reminded to go. We are updated throughout the day via their online portal with information on his meals, nap, etc. The best is when we get to see pictures of our son interacting with the various materials and peers in his classroom. We truly feel lucky to have found this school and wouldn't have it any other way. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about this school! When we first moved here, last year, this was my GREATEST BLESSING! Finding this school was like finding family for us. They welcomed my daughter (and us) in with open arms. Their campus is clean, organized, safe, and JOYFUL! All the staff are amazing and show such much joy in the work they do and it is shown thru the children. There is so much passion to teach from the guides and my daughter is so excited to come to school each day! I love their flexible schedule options as well. Sarah is AMAZING and will likely be your first contact upon calling - as is her assistant Elizabeth! We have a new amazing head of school as well who has shown so much love for all the families already. We won't be leaving anytime soon ;) read more

M 2 kids starts to go to Guidepost Montessori since they just opened. I really think this school took good care of my kids. They are not just provide high quality environments, but the teachers have so much LOVE to my kids. My little girl learns how to talk a sentence just in 3 months. It's been 2 years since my daughter started school here. The classrooms continue to be clean, organized, and fun for the kids. My daughter never wants to leave when I pick her up. She loves all the staff and teachers. In the 2 years she's been here, she's learned so much. In addition to academic learning, the Independence she has gained has been wonderful. Where do I begin? We first became a Guidepost family in 2018, a year after they opened. The immediate appeal was that they offered a part-time option for infants, which I found wasn't very common at other daycares. When I came for the tour, I was blown away by how clean the place was, and the simplicity of their materials--we had enough of the obnoxious, light up, music playing toys at home. They took great care of my first born as he made his way from the infant (or as they call it, Nido) room to Toddler to Children's House, where he is now. It was a no brainer that my second would join the Guidepost family, following in his brother's footsteps. The guides learned my kids' rhythms and have been great about communicating with me about their progress. They're warm and just a delight to be around. The administration are always available when called upon, and make pick up and drop off an enjoyable experience with their ever present hospitality. It really is an incredible community of staff and families. I'm so grateful to be a part of the Guidepost family and highly recommend those considering it, give it a shot. Love love this school! What an amazing environment for kids to learn ! Miss Libby and miss Zahraa you ladies are the best !
