    Summer Fun

This summer I can give my review as a grandparent. During the school year , I am happy to say that I teach 3 year olds, 3 days a week. Our classroom is always a joyful place . This summer as I stopped by school for Shabbat or to take photographs. I am also the school "photographer "...a hobby I enjoy immensely. Documenting the happiness in this wonderful environment is always thrilling .I pass on the photos to the parents through e-mail so they can share in their child's day. On my visits , I witnessed a wonderful , innovative and healthy environment. This summers camp program included a flamenco guitarist, a bagpiper, science and a bubble program. I also loved seeing our own Chef Ernie cooking with all the classes. Ernie incorporated books and learning with each lesson. A water pump week was particularly exciting. Children love water play and this was a fabulous opportunity. ( Pictures can be seen above )

The best decision we have made for our daughter. We knew this place was different already on the introductory tour, but after two years of attending University Synagogue, we feel lucky to have found this place. On the one hand, everything is professional, planned, and thought out and on the other hand, it is warm and feels like one big family. If your child has ever attended a different school, you will notice the difference immediately. If this is the first time you are sending your child to preschool, we cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Heidi, and the amazing teachers and staff for creating such a special place for our children.

I have had more than one LGBT parent reach out about my review so I feel compelled to update. While staffing has changed pretty drastically, the same director is in charge. She is phenomenal and is very inclusive. Our last child just left the school at the end of the 2018 school year and we were only treated with dignity by her and the entire staff. However, there was a 2018 school event where I overheard three moms talking. One told a very crude and homophobic joke. I immediately began to cry and informed them that it was offensive. (They didn't know I was behind them and able to hear.) I heard from two of the moms shortly after, but the third (that had actually told the "joke") never spoke to me again. That mom is now the president of the preschool. I don't know what impact that would have on an LGBT family at the school, but in today's climate, words are particularly harmful and scary. I felt it was important to disclose this to LGBT faMilies reading my review since I had mentioned the inclusiveness for our community in my previous review. I also want to note that I never shared the story with any staff.

Today my daughter graduated from this awesome preschool. She has been there for three years. The school has been an amazing experience for her and I'm proud to say that she is excited to go to Kindergarten. She is confident, caring, wise and kind. She's learned how to express herself and problem solve. I'm absolutely certain that the socialization skills besides the academics she has been taught will serve her for the rest of her life. The teachers and the preschool director are so incredibly caring. Both my daughter and I have created life long friends at this school and I couldn't say more wonderful things. It's truly the best there is.

This was so bittersweet, as we all wished that she could stay longer (as long as possible) in Marco Polo! We didn't want to leave! We were a part of such a tight-knit, warm, supportive, and welcoming community - the teachers, fellow parents, all the students - that I truly believe that the bond forged and positive effects gleaned (both academic and non-academic) will last well into the future. We felt that the Reggio Emilia approach worked so well in helping kids of different character traits and temperaments grow according to their own pace and strengths. We loved all the teachers that have taught our daughter, as well as others we saw every single day in their various supporting roles (admin, front desk, meal times, science, subs, etc). It took a village, and boy was that village awesome. We could feel that the teachers (and everyone else) working there truly were there because they loved kids, and they loved helping kids thrive. The Preschool and Pre-K programs were particularly notable and instrumental in their roles in helping our daughter get more than ready for her kindergarten year (and beyond). Under the relatively new leadership of Ms. Kimberly, I saw notable improvements in terms of the variety of interesting new subjects, activities, and a stronger sense of direction, leadership, and community. We can't possibly thank Marco Polo enough for helping shape our daughter, for encouraging and loving her, and for supporting us throughout. Ms Amy, Ms Venus, Mr Erick, Ms Paris, Ms Fatemeh, Ms Destinee, Ms Kimberly, Ms Jing, Ms Caitlin, Mr Ruben, Ms Lisa, Ms Janet, and everyone else - you truly made Marco Polo such a wonderful journey for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Competitively priced and well worth every penny. There are enrichment programs and also extended care if you are working parents (or just need some additional time). We enrolled that fall in the 3 day a week program M,W, F. He loved the school, and loved his teachers Miss Miki and Miss Marisela. It felt very magical from the beginning, from the fantastic play yard to all the smiling faces and happy kids. We knew early on how much we enjoyed the school so we enrolled our youngest daughter into the Parent/Toddler program as soon as she was eligible at 18 months. Miss Colleen was wonderful and we faithfully did every session until our daughter was 3 and old enough for the main pre-school program. And she started her pre-school at 5 days a week right away because she was so prepared and ready for it thanks to all of her time with Miss Colleen. Our son went up to 5 days a week for his pre-kindergarten year. He had Miss Tami and Miss Miranda and our whole family loved Miss Tami so much. We started feeling that sense of teacher loyalty. So we admit we were secretly hoping Miss Miki would be our daughter's pre-school teacher too because we were so happy with her, only to find out that Miss Jaime was the perfect match! Our little one blossomed so much during her year with Miss Jaime and Miss Cherie. We finally realized ALL of the teachers are fantastic. So as she was cruising through her pre-kindergarten year last Fall with Miss Betty and Miss Lisset, our family was beginning to feel nostalgic and the distant sting of not having Child's World in our life anymore after 4 wonderful years. It has been a pleasure dealing with everyone at the school from Miss Cindy to now Miss Mai as well as Miss Kelly and Miss Donna, the administration team has been steady, professional and helpful. We also want to give a special thanks and mention to the wonderful other teachers on campus like Miss Cece, Miss Carolina, Miss Amber and Miss Megumi who also made a personal stamp on the hearts of our kids. We loved all the events for the whole family especially Family Fun Day in the Spring and the Christmas Fair and Pancake Breakfast. Both of our kids always took part in the chapel days as well and they loved it, but we never felt any pressure to participate in church events. We can truly say that our experience with Child's World has been one of the best things about our life as parents in Orange County after moving here about 6 years ago. We took so much joy knowing what a wonderful head start they were getting on school, socialization and life outside the house in general. And we are so grateful. Thank you Child's World!

After my child joined, I can absolutely confirm that it's all true, this school really lives up to its reputation, and I only wish we had found it sooner. The teachers here are not only highly professional but, more importantly, incredibly loving and patient. My child has learned so many valuable selfcare skills using the potty independently, cleaning up after meals, and putting toys back where they belong. He's also picked up new knowledge like counting, recognizing colors and shapes, and even learning letters and his own name. Every week he proudly brings home drawings and crafts, and he has made so many new friends along the way. Every morning when I drop him off, I can feel the joyful and energetic atmosphere as teachers and children greet each other warmly. In the afternoons, the phrase I hear most often is: "Can I play a little longer?" Whenever I ask, "Do you want us to pick you up earlier or later?" he always answers, "Later, I haven't played enough yet!" Sometimes on weekends he even wakes up asking to go to school, and when I remind him that it's closed until Monday, he sighs and says, "But I miss my teachers. I want to see them." I would like to give special thanks to Ms. G and Ms. B. My child feels so much love and trust from them, and they've patiently taught him so many life skills and knowledge. I myself always feel warmth and care in my conversations with the teachers and the directors. The school also organizes wonderful activities, such as Foam Parties, Puppet Shows, and Prehistoric Pets. One of the most exciting moments for my child was being able to touch animals he had never experienced before: a baby alligator, a baby python, a turtle, a lizard, and more. I am so grateful that my child can spend such unforgettable days here. I truly believe that when he grows up, he will look back at his time at this preschool as one of the most precious and joyful memories of his childhood.

During the time my child attended this school, they were getting hurt almost daily -- including scratches on the arms or face and bruises on the body. When I asked the teachers, they would apologize but often say they didn't know when or how it happened. On one occasion, when I picked up my child, she was still bleeding, and no first aid had been provided. That was extremely concerning. What concerns me even more is that although there are cameras, the teachers often take the children to areas that seem to be out of camera view, making it impossible to verify what actually happened. Given this experience, I find it hard to understand how the school is now receiving such high ratings, especially when most of the positive reviews appear to be very recent. It does make me question the authenticity of those reviews.

The classroom ratios are low, with attentive teachers plus circulating classroom helpers who provide extra support. The curriculum goes beyond just play, there's real structure, themes, and learning around letters, numbers, colors, and ideas. We've seen great growth in our kids academically and socially. As working parents, we really appreciate that Turtle Rock offers full day care while still providing a strong educational and playful environment. I don't have to worry if my kids are doing well as they update you nearly daily with photos and messages , and you can message the teachers as needed as well throughout the day . We're very grateful for the dedicated teachers and staff and would highly recommend this school.
