    Summer Fun

This summer I can give my review as a grandparent. During the school year , I am happy to say that I teach 3 year olds, 3 days a week. Our classroom is always a joyful place . This summer as I stopped by school for Shabbat or to take photographs. I am also the school "photographer "...a hobby I enjoy immensely. Documenting the happiness in this wonderful environment is always thrilling .I pass on the photos to the parents through e-mail so they can share in their child's day. On my visits , I witnessed a wonderful , innovative and healthy environment. This summers camp program included a flamenco guitarist, a bagpiper, science and a bubble program. I also loved seeing our own Chef Ernie cooking with all the classes. Ernie incorporated books and learning with each lesson. A water pump week was particularly exciting. Children love water play and this was a fabulous opportunity. ( Pictures can be seen above )

The best decision we have made for our daughter. We knew this place was different already on the introductory tour, but after two years of attending University Synagogue, we feel lucky to have found this place. On the one hand, everything is professional, planned, and thought out and on the other hand, it is warm and feels like one big family. If your child has ever attended a different school, you will notice the difference immediately. If this is the first time you are sending your child to preschool, we cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Heidi, and the amazing teachers and staff for creating such a special place for our children.

I have had more than one LGBT parent reach out about my review so I feel compelled to update. While staffing has changed pretty drastically, the same director is in charge. She is phenomenal and is very inclusive. Our last child just left the school at the end of the 2018 school year and we were only treated with dignity by her and the entire staff. However, there was a 2018 school event where I overheard three moms talking. One told a very crude and homophobic joke. I immediately began to cry and informed them that it was offensive. (They didn't know I was behind them and able to hear.) I heard from two of the moms shortly after, but the third (that had actually told the "joke") never spoke to me again. That mom is now the president of the preschool. I don't know what impact that would have on an LGBT family at the school, but in today's climate, words are particularly harmful and scary. I felt it was important to disclose this to LGBT faMilies reading my review since I had mentioned the inclusiveness for our community in my previous review. I also want to note that I never shared the story with any staff.

Today my daughter graduated from this awesome preschool. She has been there for three years. The school has been an amazing experience for her and I'm proud to say that she is excited to go to Kindergarten. She is confident, caring, wise and kind. She's learned how to express herself and problem solve. I'm absolutely certain that the socialization skills besides the academics she has been taught will serve her for the rest of her life. The teachers and the preschool director are so incredibly caring. Both my daughter and I have created life long friends at this school and I couldn't say more wonderful things. It's truly the best there is.

This was so bittersweet, as we all wished that she could stay longer (as long as possible) in Marco Polo! We didn't want to leave! We were a part of such a tight-knit, warm, supportive, and welcoming community - the teachers, fellow parents, all the students - that I truly believe that the bond forged and positive effects gleaned (both academic and non-academic) will last well into the future. We felt that the Reggio Emilia approach worked so well in helping kids of different character traits and temperaments grow according to their own pace and strengths. We loved all the teachers that have taught our daughter, as well as others we saw every single day in their various supporting roles (admin, front desk, meal times, science, subs, etc). It took a village, and boy was that village awesome. We could feel that the teachers (and everyone else) working there truly were there because they loved kids, and they loved helping kids thrive. The Preschool and Pre-K programs were particularly notable and instrumental in their roles in helping our daughter get more than ready for her kindergarten year (and beyond). Under the relatively new leadership of Ms. Kimberly, I saw notable improvements in terms of the variety of interesting new subjects, activities, and a stronger sense of direction, leadership, and community. We can't possibly thank Marco Polo enough for helping shape our daughter, for encouraging and loving her, and for supporting us throughout. Ms Amy, Ms Venus, Mr Erick, Ms Paris, Ms Fatemeh, Ms Destinee, Ms Kimberly, Ms Jing, Ms Caitlin, Mr Ruben, Ms Lisa, Ms Janet, and everyone else - you truly made Marco Polo such a wonderful journey for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

It was clear from every detail that an enormous amount of care, creativity, and dedication went into making it such a special occasion. As a parent, watching our children take the stage with such confidence, poise, and genuine excitement was an absolute joy. The fact that they were so well-rehearsed and yet still completely in the moment is a true testament to the incredible work your teachers and staff do every single day. The event was so thoughtfully organized, and it showed. Every moment felt intentional and meaningful, leaving all of us parents with full hearts and the biggest smiles. These are the memories our families will treasure for years to come. Please know how deeply appreciated you all are, not just for yesterday, but for everything you pour into these children throughout the year. You don't just teach them; you help them grow into kind, capable, and confident little people. Yesterday was a beautiful reflection of that. Our child has shown progress in language and social skills, and the staff puts clear effort into milestones like graduation ceremonies and holiday events. The campus itself is clean and modern. This is definitely one of the top 10 Montessori schools in Orange County. Refine a few operational details, and they have the potential to easily break into the top 5. Areas for Improvement: Teacher rotation does cause disruption in student learning. While staffing shifts are common, the school needs to do a better job of getting ahead of these rotations and being proactive about the transitions. Furthermore, the administration should establish a structured, year-round channel for parental feedback. While daily communication from individual teachers is fine, an administrative feedback loop like bi-annual parent surveys would allow families to share insights on scheduling logistics, administrative clarity, or classroom dynamics. It remains a solid option for families in Irvine, and showing better foresight regarding teacher transitions and structured parent communication will help them reach that next level.

We enrolled that fall in the 3 day a week program M,W, F. He loved the school, and loved his teachers Miss Miki and Miss Marisela. It felt very magical from the beginning, from the fantastic play yard to all the smiling faces and happy kids. We knew early on how much we enjoyed the school so we enrolled our youngest daughter into the Parent/Toddler program as soon as she was eligible at 18 months. Miss Colleen was wonderful and we faithfully did every session until our daughter was 3 and old enough for the main pre-school program. And she started her pre-school at 5 days a week right away because she was so prepared and ready for it thanks to all of her time with Miss Colleen. Our son went up to 5 days a week for his pre-kindergarten year. He had Miss Tami and Miss Miranda and our whole family loved Miss Tami so much. We started feeling that sense of teacher loyalty. So we admit we were secretly hoping Miss Miki would be our daughter's pre-school teacher too because we were so happy with her, only to find out that Miss Jaime was the perfect match! Our little one blossomed so much during her year with Miss Jaime and Miss Cherie. We finally realized ALL of the teachers are fantastic. So as she was cruising through her pre-kindergarten year last Fall with Miss Betty and Miss Lisset, our family was beginning to feel nostalgic and the distant sting of not having Child's World in our life anymore after 4 wonderful years. It has been a pleasure dealing with everyone at the school from Miss Cindy to now Miss Mai as well as Miss Kelly and Miss Donna, the administration team has been steady, professional and helpful. We also want to give a special thanks and mention to the wonderful other teachers on campus like Miss Cece, Miss Carolina, Miss Amber and Miss Megumi who also made a personal stamp on the hearts of our kids. We loved all the events for the whole family especially Family Fun Day in the Spring and the Christmas Fair and Pancake Breakfast. Both of our kids always took part in the chapel days as well and they loved it, but we never felt any pressure to participate in church events. We can truly say that our experience with Child's World has been one of the best things about our life as parents in Orange County after moving here about 6 years ago. We took so much joy knowing what a wonderful head start they were getting on school, socialization and life outside the house in general. And we are so grateful. Thank you Child's World!
