We love this school. It's been wonderful to have them take care and teach our child not only traditional school curriculum but also how to be an independent person-- the "life skills". They accept our child at the level he's at and caringly challenge him to grow. He loves waking up to get to school ("it's so fun to see my friends!") and gets upset when we pick him up too early. From preschool to kindergarten, this place has been nothing but nuturing and caring. The kids are all amazing. Many activities for them and they can learn at their own pace and feel supported. We've also appreciated that they offer hot catered lunches so that we have the option of taking a break from lunch packing to give our child variety and exposure to different foods and feel included among other children during meal time. Competitively priced and well worth every penny. There are enrichment programs and also extended care if you are working parents (or just need some additional time). After 2.5 days, things didn't work out, and the principal said we could have a full refund. Obtaining the refund was an ordeal, we had to go in person three times, and finally after 10 days the gave it to us, minus three days of tuition. We have been very happy with our daughter's experience at Irvine Montessori. Coming from a small in-home daycare, it took her some time to transition to this larger school, but her teachers were very kind, helpful, and patient through the process. I sent my child to Public in Irvine and transferred him to this school for better academic experience but it was wrong and worst decision I ever had made. There were kids bullying around and teachers didn't notice it happens in the class and I luckily noticed it so I could protect mine. One of the worst experiences I've ever experienced in Irvine and it is a way worse than public school. Everyone's experience may differ but it is true that there some kids are bullying and it is not corrective or even noticeable to teachers so nobody knows until yours get hurt. read more

My daughter has been attending this school for nearly 2 years and I have nothing but great things to say about our experiences. First and foremost we have had our bad share of schools. One resulted in a trip to the ER after only 5 days of attendance. Irvine Montessori is not one of these schools. Irvine Montessori so far has exceeded our expectations. Our daughter has been hitting her milestones and her socialization skills continue to surprise us everyday. She loves her teacher Mrs. Angie and is has a lot to say about her day in school. The communication between the teachers and the parents are spot on. They get back to us within the end of the day and often offer either an in person visit or phone call to further discuss concerns. This is always very comforting. If they could offer an infant program that would be amazing! We would gladly enroll our second child now without thinking twice... We love Irvine Montessori School! We feel so blessed and lucky to have found this school and are so thankful to the teachers and staff. My child was pretty strong willed and headstrong. His teacher (Ms. Karen) was so patient and we noticed what a difference a year has made on his development. This school is not a daycare and truly follows the Montessori principles and style of learning. We received progress reports and they follow structured schedules with different learning activities. My son has been going to Irvine Montessori School for almost a year now (minus the pandemic shutdown time hah)...and while he initially had separation anxiety being away from mommy and daddy, he now loves going to school! Every teacher from the director, Ms. Ruby to everyone else that we interact with on a daily basis is so friendly, kind, and patient with all the kiddos! I love that they have a set classroom schedule and that they get outdoor playtime everyday. My son comes home with the cutest art projects and loves to tell me about his day. He is sent home with a daily report but I get so excited when the HomeRoom app is updated with new pictures and videos so that I can actually SEE what he's doing :) Added bonus is that they basically potty trained him for me too haha... The school facilities are kept really clean and even with Covid precautions loosening up, they still do temperature checks and require masks which is comforting. During this whole pandemic, my son has barely even gotten a common cold so I have total faith that they are keeping the school super clean and making sure that everyone washes their hands a lot! The tuition rate I feel is on the more affordable end for toddler schools and a major plus is that they can provide lunch at an extra fee - but that saves me so much time and stress in the mornings and is well worth it! They also offer extra fun activities (for a charge of course) like soccer or dance classes which is pretty cool too. Thank you Irvine Montessori School for all that you're doing for my son! Our son was in a home daycare but he never wanted to go to school, and he never completed his potty training. He is 3-years old. After we switch him to Montessori, he completed his potty training in less than a month. The teachers coordinate with parents through parent-teacher meetings regarding how we should communicate and work together to get our son to the next level. Stay away from this school ! my 18 month old grandson went there recently and our experience was very awful . the First day we observed him from the public parking lot from a distance while he was in the playground outside to observe him in his transition, we witnessed a child pushing multiple children forcefully to the ground on cement and none of the teachers even noticed . my grandson was crying throwing his arms towards the teacher and following her around, he was clearly distressed as this was his first day and the teacher ignored him kept walking around and away from him taking pictures of the other kids. this was very disturbing and many professionals in the field we've consulted with have said a child should be comforted, soothed as this is a major transition for such a small child and not be completely ignored. the Second day my grandson came home with a big black bruise on the side of his hip . when my daughter approached the school, the teacher denied the baby getting hurt at school and said she didnt observe anything and when we reported the incident in the playground with the administrator, she told my daughter (instead of showing concern) to please not observe when the kids are in the playground ."Really " ? What are you hiding ? when most day cares actually invite parents to come and observe the way they care for the children, and some even have cameras the parents can access. We ended paying almost 2 months for 3 days he attended because they request a 30 days notice in advance even if it doesn't work out ! And when we picked up the baby's personal bagpack, his diapers, wipes, tissues and wet towels were gone and not returned, the teacher's response being "we didnt think you wanted them back" . read more

My son first school, Miss Ruby and Miss Iris are so so so so kind and friendly with everyone and specially with the kids, my son was excited to go to school everyday because of Miss Iris ( who is now promoted to be in the administration of the school, which she sincerely deserve) the rest of the teachers and assistances are also so friendly and lovely, Never complained about anything the entire time. Our son started attending Irvine Montessori School around 18 months in summer of 2019. We toured the school and the staff was always swift to answer any questions we had prior to starting or set up additional parent teacher meetings as needed. So far, our experience with the school thus far has been great. Our son really likes the way they have the classes structured and we noticed him bringing his "school work" habits home to the point on the weekend he wants to sit on a mat and practice different tasks or skills they try to learn in school. At first our son started out in Miss Melody's toddler class, she was very sweet and was a great introduction to our son for the first few months as he transitioned from being at home to school life. A few months after starting, the school asked if we would be willing to move our son to a new toddler class with Miss Himali. We were totally fine with this suggestion, but the staff made it clear it was our decision if we did not want him moving. Nonetheless, our son loved the class and Miss Himali was great about communicating our sons emerging interests in different activities at school. Shortly before our son was 2 1/2 he moved up to the Toddler 2 class with Miss Summer's. The school and Miss Summer's had a great transition set up to make sure our son was not stressed with swapping classes. However, shortly after moving classes the school closed temporarily due to COVID. While the school was closed down abiding by Orange Counties guidelines, they have since reopened and enforce a new set of safety measures to ensure the children's safety is taken in the upmost care. Temperature checks are done every morning and they must have regular temperatures to be allowed entry. Parents are also only allowed in the drop off area, and they have added 6ft markers to the front office area to ensure guidelines are followed. Hand washing is done more frequently, and snacks are to be personally brought rather than prepared for the class. I hope moving forward temperature checks could maybe become a normal part of the school. Prior to COVID our son was getting sick quite often when coming home from school- I mean I totally get it; toddlers get into a ton of things. But since more health guidelines are being enforced at a higher level, I have yet to see our son some home with any cold symptoms so his attendance at school has been quite better! All in all I hope our son can keep attending the school. We've really enjoyed all the teachers and staff here, some the teachers I've even seen make an appearance at some of the kids birthday parties, and I think that's really great for when they're young and developing. The break from school during COVID was unfortunate, but my husband and I are glad the school has been able to reopen with new guidelines since our son really missed his teachers! read more

Where do I even start? Well Irvine Montessori is the best Montessori! My daughter has been attending since 18 months old until almost 3 now. Working in childcare myself I had high expectations and Irvine Montessori checks off every box on my list! They are exceptional and the staff is so welcoming and accommodating! My daughter is so comfortable with all of the staff and loves to attend school! I'm so grateful for the school for many reasons but my top ones are potty training and nap time. I am also especially grateful for the staff and the friends she has made at Montessori because my daughter was speech delayed and now she talks so much more! I want to give a huge shout out to Ms. Ruby, Ms. Iris, and Ms. Jackie! They have shaped my daughter into an amazing toddler and we love them so much! read more

08/06/20 update: With the craziness that's going on around us, I'm so glad we chose to bring our son back to this school. I was very nervous initially, as one can imagine, but the teachers and staff at this school made me feel at ease. They have a strict one parent in the lobby for drop off and pick up rule. They all wear masks, and you bring your own pen for sign-in and sign-out (minimize the contact with others who may not be as good at washing/sanitizing their hands). Our son enjoys going to this school and being with his teachers and friends. I'm happy that they take our kids' safety and health very seriously while considering that kids are kids and will want to play and touch things. It is evident in the way our child talks and the topics he talks about that he is learning a great deal at this establishment. We will be sad the day our child is too old to attend this school. But I suppose, the goal is to get them to that point. read more

This place is not montessori just a daycare.. I seriously don't know where to begin how bad this school is. I had my child enrolled in this school. It is horrible, to start off they allow children to come in sick! Just by standing at the window and looking at the classroom you can see how sick some of these children look. It's really disappointing knowing my child keeps getting sick with everyone having green snot and I found out until I picked her up. But when I ask her teachers she tell me that the director tells her employees " just keep an eye on them and let parents know at pick up time". If my child starts feeling sick or seems off not herself I want to know immediately. They don't care about your child's health they wont even bother to make a curiosity calls. I also witness one child drinking from everyone water bottle and no teacher bother to wash them. The director is full of lies none of these teachers are not montessori certified, or some don't even have units, they will just hire anybody. Ruby lies about almost everything and convinces you to believe her as she doesn't like to get caught in her lies. If you ask her about the reviews on Yelp, she makes up a lie to favor her. The owner is always around and doesn't let her employees do their job. It's embarrassing that the school owner yells at her employees in front of parents, and always making rude comments. All they care about is the money . Half of these reviews are FAKE . There are no janitors. School is never disinfected, they don't value the children or their teachers. read more

Our family relocated to Irvine from Chicago a year ago, and we wanted to send our two young boys to a Montessori school since my older (5 yo at the time) was attending a Montessori Pre-School back home. We visited multiple schools in the Irvine area before we moved, and were impressed with Irvine Montessori from the start! The school Director, Ms. Ruby, was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. She is very knowledgeable and such a kind and caring person. Our two boys (6 yrs and almost 3 yrs) have been in the school for a year now, and we've had a great experience so far! The teachers and staff were so welcoming to our boys and really made them feel comfortable from the start. They adjusted to their new environment very quickly, and have loved going to school since we moved to Irvine. My younger son is going through potty training, and his teachers have done a great job supporting this process at school. Finding this school was such a blessing for our family, and we look forward to having our younger son continue in their pre-school program.
