My baby boy attended an English class here, and the teachers were very warm and friendly. He adapted very well, and I'm truly grateful for the care provided by teachers Jing and Destinee Tiahmah. The campus is spacious and clean, and the reception staff greeted me warmly every day. I highly recommend this school. Since we had to return to our home country, we left, but we still have fond memories of campus life there. My boy also misses her teachers very much,we miss them so much.

Almost close to the year end and we thought the half year in Marco Polo, my son was taken good care and improved a lot! Very appreciate the efforts from all teachers. Ms Caitlin is very experienced. Every week she has a theme for toddlers to explore and to learn. My son just loves going to school and he makes friends there. Ms Lin helped us a lot. Specially when we met difficulties at very beginning. She can understand the new parents' concerns and can help Chinese students at school.

Mooncake molds. The kids got to practice pressing the dough into the cake molds. So cute.

We are thankful for Marco Polo. We first enrolled our daughter in 2018 in the toddlers Mandarin Immersion program, but only stayed a couple of months before we moved away. During that short time, the teachers (Ms. Michelle-- still at Marco Polo sometimes, and Ms. Lanxin-- now at Pacific Academy) were SO wonderful and caring. I'm so thankful they used (and still use) Brightwheel to provide updates. We loved Marco Polo so much that when we moved back to the area, we enrolled her again, this time in the pre-K Mandarin Immersion class. The teachers (Ms. Hongyan, Ms. Lily, and Ms. Emily) are so kind and are great instructors. We are not a fully Mandarin-speaking household, so the immersion program is important to us. It is so wonderful to hear my daughter singing Mandarin songs she learns from school. The kitchen and art areas are so cute, and clean too. They even make mooncakes! Downside: Traffic in that part of Irvine can be pretty bad during times of the day when people are commuting to and from the many offices in the area.

Their text message ! How irresponsible!

This review is for their administration since they didn't give me a chance to even take a tour and talk to them. I have scheduled their "virtual" tour months in advance and today I got a text message that the tour is canceled! Just two days before the tour date with no explanation!!!! Really ???? I called this school in spring, and they told me the only way I can see the school is through virtual appointment and the next available is in October so I signed up for it. Then I told my mom friend about the school solely based on reviews on yelp, and she was able to enroll her daughter right away without taking the tour or waiting on their long waitlist!!!! Her toddler started in September And when I asked the school how come she was able to enroll, they have totally denied it! I'm glad that they canceled my appointment today because I don't want my daughter to go to a school with such a poor, irresponsible and unreliable management. Update same day: OK! after my yelp review and a couple of back and forth emails they have decided to schedule me for a tour tomorrow !

I looked into Language Door and found our forever home. First, the owner Natascha is fantastic. She's multi lingual and very hands on. She loves what she does and it shows with all the students. She knows what teachers would be best for certain students. Second, I love love love Susan and Lupe who work as administrators. Susan is Hungarian and speaks so many languages, I can't keep track. She's kind, a world of knowledge and gives the best hugs. Lupe is smart, multi lingual and wonderful! Every student who walks in is greeted in the language they're learning. There are adults and kids learning Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, etc. The teachers are worldly, my kids love their classes and can't wait to go to school even on Saturday's. While I'm waiting for my kids I get to speak with all the parents who are lovely. Walking in I feel transported to an international setting where people are open minded, multi cultural and inclusive. I wouldn't hesitate making the call! Thanks Language Door for embracing the love of language!

What really makes this place stand out (and believe me I did my research) is that if you want to take a foreign language class with them you can sit in on a few classes before you decide to sign up for the new start date. The owner, Natascha is also extremely attentive and you can tell she loves what she does and goes the extra mile for her students and teachers. I am quite impressed with the level of service provided and it was more than worth it for the price! I plan to sign up for German & Arabic courses shortly after my Advanced Spanish course commences.

They charge you in advance for a mediocre education, and when I wanted to stop going they stopped responding and wanted to keep my money. Wouldn't respond to schedule an appointment to figure out. They only listened to me because I showed there with an American man twice my age (I'm was a 21 year old woman at the time) literally saw him and changed their attitude. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IMMIGRANTS and the fact that English is not your fist language. There are so many other schools. Save yourself the heartache and waste of money and don't go here.

I have the right to write the fact that I have experienced. This is a place that we write reviews. It is not absolutely about the student! It also shows that she is not qualified to be a good teacher. This is the worst experience in my life. There is another review about her. I am not the only one who complaining. Poonam Hemlani is the worst teacher that I have ever seen. Don't take her class. She always put us in the breakout rooms and let us talk each other. Also, I really don't understand why she always wants us to read every question and answer in the book. We are not here to read English, but learn something. I guess she might not want to teach us. And she forced the students to be out of the class without any particular reason. She kicked out me four times a day. I asked her why and tried to communicate with her, but she never responded me and she kept kicking out me. What is she going on? If you go to this school, you would be kicked out like me. And I learned nothing for two terms! It is a complete waste of money and time.

5-stars for Atsuko sensei and The Language Experts!…read more I tried, like many, to learn the Japanese language on my own. I ordered the Genki I textbook and started out strong. It didn't take very long for me to run into questions that I scrambled to try and answer through Google. I skipped a lot of the lessons that required a partner or a CD player. I ended up getting stuck and gave up. I decided I wanted to give the language another chance but this time I'd try taking lessons. I found The Language Experts through Yelp. I called and e-mailed and received responses very quickly and it gave me a good introduction and some expectations before signing up for the classes. I was a little reluctant to join a class with other students. It's part of the reason why I avoided taking a class at a nearby college. The prices are great for both private and group lessons and there's lots of different options to make payments as well. Despite the great prices of private lessons I gave the group lessons a try. I'm so very glad I decided to take the group lessons. Atsuko sensei will put you in a group that has a similar level whether you're completely new, or you've stopped and are starting again, or you have some sort of experience, she'll know which level and class to fit you in. My group is awesome and supportive and really fun! It's been less than a year but I've already learned a lot of the language and the culture that I would never have been able to do on my own and at a level I didn't think I'd ever get to. I'm really pleased and happy to be learning Japanese at The Language Experts. I hope to continue as long as possible!

I don't really write Yelp reviews often, but I feel I need to share my point of view for my son's first year at this school. I don't want to see teachers' hard work and devotion to be erased by all these negative reviews. This new school does not have a lot of resources like Irvine Unified School District. The facilities at the campus are out of date and the campus is leased from IUSD. The faculty has been trying hard to maintain the school facilities, but it is very challenging. - 2 of 5 star I have been volunteering at my son's classes in the past two semesters, and both English and Mandarin teachers from the 2nd Grade are very passionate about teaching and helping our children. I have heard a similar compliment for all other teachers at different grades. The school only has one PE teacher, who is working hard and carrying a lot of responsibilities for all the kids at school- 4 of 5 star The communication channels between teachers and parents are very clear. Teachers will quickly respond and answer questions or concerns from the parents. - 5 of 5 star Before enrolling at IIA last year, my son has no knowledge about Chinese handwriting. As now, at the end of his 2nd semester, he can do both reading and writing more than 117 Chinese characters. For reference, attached are words he has learned so far. - 5 of 5 star Some parents have questions about the on-site after-school program. From my observation in the past two semesters, my son was able to complete his homework at school, attending enrichment class for music and art, and playing with his friends after school. My son always asked me to pick him up last so that he can spend more time at school. - 4 of 5 star To sum up, my wife and I feel very fortunate that our son has this opportunity to learn both English and Mandarin at the same time without sacrificing our weekend attending Chinese school. Everyday when we dropped our son to school, he always rolls his backpack with lightening speed and runs to the teacher. We can tell our son really enjoys his first year at IIA. This is a tuition free charter school, not a 5 star Private school. This school requires a lot of parents to involve and help. This is a new school starting with a bumpy start. We all hope one day the school board and parents can come to an agreement one day so the teachers/students in between will not be sacrificed.
