I am preparing for Toefl test in this academy and the classes are awesome! You feel like you're at home at the same time you learn.

I would like to share what an amazing experience we had with LangoKids Irvine. This Spanish…read moreimmersion program offers powerful cognitive, social, and cultural benefits for a variety of ages. We participated in the preschool and transitional classes for my toddler. I'm a homeschooling parent who has learned that at this age, children's brains are very receptive to learning and language. LangoKids provides an environment that allows kids to absorb Spanish naturally through play, songs, and daily routines. They have awesome teachers and staff to create a friendly and diverse atmosphere helping my toddler feel comfortable with native-like pronunciation as well as increase their listening abilities. As a parent, learning that immersion supports a stronger attention connection, memory recall, and develops good problem-solving skills has been very impactful. Beyond language, this program promotes awareness, empathy, and diversity from an early age. And has laid a strong foundation for bilingual and lifelong learning while keeping it effortless and fun. I would highly recommend trying out LangoKids Irvine giving it a 10 out of 10. My child constantly sings the songs and practices what she continues to learn all the time. I picked up a few Spanish things along the way too, lol!

My oldest child (10yo) is now able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. My youngest (5) is learning to read and write in Spanish and English at the same time. All the teachers have been attentive and encouraging. Learning a new language is a long term commitment, and our family is very happy that we chose Lango for this learning experience.

I don't understand why Trump being elected has anything to do with this school, but there are a lot Asians that attend the school so I don't understand who this "more brown than me" African American Dean has anything to do with the school when there that person does NOT exist? Wow, You must be some serious hater posting from some competing school or just a disgruntled ex-student who was denied a refund. Move on and don't go around spreading such hate - because in USA there is NO "different standards" of racism - you are either a racist or not. Please don't get it twisted. And it seems like someone who alleges that he/she was discriminated against would know that. In the end, similar to That person, I also attended a different school, but never once was I treated with disrespect or discriminated against at this place. Yes, I'm Chinese-American. And I don't speak Chinese...I speak Mandarin. And I enjoy Chinese food and In n Out when I have late night cravings. And as a grown woman, I didn't bring my mommy with me since I was only there to inquire more info regarding the language program/curriculum and fees.

Academically she's learning Chinese, and other topics she has grown a lot too (reading, math, etc...) The school is small so getting to know other students and families is fairly easy. Most of the negative reviews reflect the chaos of school politics. It doesn't really reflect the…read moreteachers' hard work and students' lives in the past year. I don't really write Yelp reviews often, but I feel I need to share my point of view for my son's first year at this school. I don't want to see teachers' hard work and devotion to be erased by all these negative reviews. This new school does not have a lot of resources like Irvine Unified School District. The facilities at the campus are out of date and the campus is leased from IUSD. The faculty has been trying hard to maintain the school facilities, but it is very challenging. - 2 of 5 star I have been volunteering at my son's classes in the past two semesters, and both English and Mandarin teachers from the 2nd Grade are very passionate about teaching and helping our children. I have heard a similar compliment for all other teachers at different grades. The school only has one PE teacher, who is working hard and carrying a lot of responsibilities for all the kids at school- 4 of 5 star The communication channels between teachers and parents are very clear. Teachers will quickly respond and answer questions or concerns from the parents. - 5 of 5 star Before enrolling at IIA last year, my son has no knowledge about Chinese handwriting. As now, at the end of his 2nd semester, he can do both reading and writing more than 117 Chinese characters. For reference, attached are words he has learned so far. - 5 of 5 star Some parents have questions about the on-site after-school program. From my observation in the past two semesters, my son was able to complete his homework at school, attending enrichment class for music and art, and playing with his friends after school. My son always asked me to pick him up last so that he can spend more time at school. - 4 of 5 star To sum up, my wife and I feel very fortunate that our son has this opportunity to learn both English and Mandarin at the same time without sacrificing our weekend attending Chinese school. Everyday when we dropped our son to school, he always rolls his backpack with lightening speed and runs to the teacher. We can tell our son really enjoys his first year at IIA. This is a tuition free charter school, not a 5 star Private school. This school requires a lot of parents to involve and help. This is a new school starting with a bumpy start. We all hope one day the school board and parents can come to an agreement one day so the teachers/students in between will not be sacrificed.

Hello, This is a fellow 7th grader at I Can Academy. I have to say, the staff are extremely nice…read moreand caring! Most of them are parents, so they have proper experience with this kind of stuff. The best part about the staff is that they don't just focus on teaching, they focus on YOU. The teachers have less students which means they can focus on students individually. Other schools have teachers which focus on the class as a student body. The teachers want to know YOU and what YOU need help on and what YOU like. It may be smaller than your average school, but makes up for it for the indivual care the teachers put into the students. It's a great cross between homeschool and school, where you have less stress and all the kids are chill and you get all the knowledge you need. It's a great low-stress alternative with social aspects to homeschool. ICA also has class 2 days a week (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday). ICA helps kids LEARN subjects at an more appropriate pace and is great with helping each student GROW to be the best version of themselves. ICA will make your child SOAR into the wonders of fun and low-stress! Thanks ICA!

The office staff was so warm and welcoming, and our daughter loved picking out her supplies to create her own I Can Academy bag. Her teacher was incredibly kind and created such a positive, engaging learning atmosphere. During the class, I even heard my daughter shout, "I can read!" When it ended, she was smiling and excited to bring home new flash cards to practice blending sounds. A few days later, she had an assessment at a private school for kindergarten, which included sounding out letters and blending them. She did so well--and I couldn't believe how quickly the lessons from the academy had already made an impact. This is absolutely the place to go if you want a warm, child-first learning experience. We highly recommend it!
