I would like to share what an amazing experience we had with LangoKids Irvine. This Spanish immersion program offers powerful cognitive, social, and cultural benefits for a variety of ages. We participated in the preschool and transitional classes for my toddler. I'm a homeschooling parent who has learned that at this age, children's brains are very receptive to learning and language. LangoKids provides an environment that allows kids to absorb Spanish naturally through play, songs, and daily routines. They have awesome teachers and staff to create a friendly and diverse atmosphere helping my toddler feel comfortable with native-like pronunciation as well as increase their listening abilities. As a parent, learning that immersion supports a stronger attention connection, memory recall, and develops good problem-solving skills has been very impactful. Beyond language, this program promotes awareness, empathy, and diversity from an early age. And has laid a strong foundation for bilingual and lifelong learning while keeping it effortless and fun. I would highly recommend trying out LangoKids Irvine giving it a 10 out of 10. My child constantly sings the songs and practices what she continues to learn all the time. Our family has been involved with LangoKids for over 7 years. Our two kids have attended Spanish classes at Lango since they were each 3 years old. My oldest child (10yo) is now able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. My youngest (5) is learning to read and write in Spanish and English at the same time. All the teachers have been attentive and encouraging. Learning a new language is a long term commitment, and our family is very happy that we chose Lango for this learning experience. read more

Our children and family loved LangoKids Spanish camp!! We have been privileged to try many different summer camps of all sorts and Lango was one of the best we have attended. We are not native Spanish speakers, but in the few weeks of attending camp our kids were constantly singing in, speaking in, and asking us to speak in Spanish to improve their Spanish. The activities were super fun, well thought out and inculcated an environment of celebration of culture and language while keeping the kids super engaged. The kids wanted to go back every day! The teachers were nurturing and intentional, and built a beautiful connection with the kids in such a short time. Ms. Cristina who leads the program is so diverse in her learning approaches models which allows for kids of all learning styles and interests to fully engage. The entire camp has a feeling of welcome and community. We will be attending Lango's summer program for as many years possible! We recommend 10/10! read more

No make up classes, no refunds. Be prepared if your child cannot attend summer classes (even if it's for a mandatory reason, like COVID). There will not be appropriate make ups. There is one teacher, a portion of the time is spent on really poor crafts (!) If you want your child to be immersed and learn a language, I recommend searching elsewhere. *Keep this information in mind, even for Fall/Winter/Spring classes. Irvine parent. Really careful about this daycare center. If I can give a 0 star I will. I called it daycare center, there is reason for that. The summer camp they teach nothing at all. Only 30 mins person study and after that is just play and tv time. Do not trust other google review for this site. Go check on yelp reviews. There are 23 total and half of the them are 1star. We want to invest our kids, but not give our money this kind of business owner. On the other hand, this owner she had moral decay. The owner is morally bankrupt and unworthy of being a teacher. This owner kicked us out of summer camp at random because she find other kids to replace my two kids spot. I paid the full fee in cash zelle in April for both kids, The problem is that you block my kids to go to school. I won't get my money back after the first week, over $4000? Oh my goodness. Then she asked us not to go to class, promised us our money back, then ended up with. Won't give me my money back. After I beg the refund $4000, over times, then she had so many excuses try to not give refund and deduct no reason fees after she block the kids go to camps. I missed the 1day camp for both kids worth $140 and she charged no reason additional extra $200. For what reason? Your business loss? Remember you told us not to come class and not me. I paid in full in April. Trust me Irvine parents, not all the after school are the best, open your eye and make sure that go through the yelp reviews. Our investment for the kids, but is not supporting this kind of business. There are more good school. I used the Spanish academy; homeschool parents know this . I spoke to Christina before signing my child up for 7 weeks of Summer Camp. And told her I was not looking for a daycare, but for somewhere that would effectively teach Spanish. She assured me over and over that the establishment teaches and is not a daycare. 7 weeks and $2600 later my child learned NOTHING. They do a weak 45 minutes in the morning of Spanish. And the rest of the day the watch Spanish dance videos and play and eat. And we had to drive a very long way to the site. It was so regrettable. She is a used car salesman. And will say anything to get your business. Read the other one star review below from Drew H. He's much more articulate then I am, and nails the point. We also tried to have constructive conversations with Christina, but they just got very defensive. And lied about previous communications, THAT I HAD IN WRITING.. and still denied it. What a joke. My daughters attended Lango Kids 2014-2021. They are currently in high school and placed in honors Spanish. Our commitment has definitely paid off because they were both placed in honor Spanish, and are at the top of their class. Cristina and the teachers at Lango are native speakers, committed to helping the children learn through fun and structured activities. We met wonderful families who value education, and still continue our friendships after graduating. We don't speak Spanish in our home, so the only Spanish our children heard was through Lango Kids. They both sound like native speakers because we started at such a young age. We are so grateful for this program. read more

We have been attending LangoKids for about a year now and highly recommend the program. We love that the teachers only speak Spanish in the class, and the kids get a lot of exposures. Although they do take teaching very seriously, the classes themselves are super fun, engaging and the kids are just having a great time in there. We have had our kids in Lango for a few years now and cannot say enough good things. Learning a language is neither easy nor fast but Lango does an amazing job of keeping my kids engaged. Whether in their after school class or their summer immersion camp, my kids always have fun story to tell. We have been going to LangoKids since my oldest daughter was 2 years old, she's 9 now. When my son turned 2 he also started going to LangoKids and now he's 6. I am a Spanish speaker, but my husband is not, and even I do speak to my kids in Spanish, they don't always want to speak it at home. LangoKids has kept them in touch with the language and their summer camps really opened new doors for my kids. Once they we able to attend it was as if they lost the fear of speaking Spanish and now they are more comfortable and it has helped them a lot with their pronunciation as well. Language acquisition takes time and effort, so when you try LangoKids don't give up, your kids will learn and get better, it just takes patience and commitment, and LangoKids makes it possible. read more

Cristina and all the teachers at LangoKids Irvine are doing a great job in helping children learn a foreign language. Our oldest daughter started a couple years ago in their parent/child program. It was such a fun way to introduce her to a new language. Initially, we took French classes, but switched to Spanish as we thought she would benefit more as she will learn Spanish at her school. In the last couple years she's moved up a couple levels and loves going to Lango. Her pronunciation and vocabulary have improved tremendously. The summer camps at LangoKids are wonderful! We felt like our daughter got so much out of being there for 4 weeks. Can't wait to sign her up next summer! Lango has proven to be the best immersion program in Orange County. The minute you walk through their doors its nothing but Spanish/French that your child will hear from the teaching staff. My daughter has gone from not speaking any Spanish, to learning basic Spanish words, to speaking fluently. My daughter's mastery in the language has grown to the point that she's now in the advance Spanish courses where they're focusing on learning formal writing, advanced reading, and grammar. In the advanced courses the children have moved way beyond your basic "hello, my name is" My daughter has grown so much that she is now learning a third language at Lango, at 10 years old she is now learning French. We believe in this program so much that my son is now taking Spanish 1 and is hoping to follow in his sisters footsteps in becoming multilingual. The school is run by caring mothers that are truly passionate about teaching a language. The teaching staff will soon enough become a family to you because you will experience their care and honest desire to see children move beyond learning colors, body parts and salutations. I've tried other courses and schools and none has compared to this. *When ever we asked for help and suggestions in furthering our children in their language acquisition we were met with a lot of advice, resources and suggestions. *About the bathrooms situation. Lango is now at a location that has a bathroom indoors and for the record I always stay at the location and I personally never witnessed a teacher ask a parent to take a student to the bathroom. The teacher always escorted the child to the bathroom. Even if they were short-staffed the teacher would always get the second teacher on site to watch her classroom while she escorted the a student to the bathroom. read more

My kids have been going to LangoKids Summer Camp and I had to write this review. I was blown away with how much they learned in a small amount of time and... they LOVED it! They ask me on the weekends if they can go to camp and are asking me if they can go for more time which says so much. They learn songs, do crafts every day, get to bring money one day a week to camp to buy a snack at "the store" - teaching real world experiences in Spanish. And the cherry on top is water days on Friday. The facility is super nice, and the teachers are just amazing with the kids. Christina, the owner, is very communicative with the parents and has been awesome to work with. You can see all the time and effort they put into planning such a great camp. I heard great things about LangoKids and i'm so glad we tried it. We will definitely be taking more classes/camp. read more

Our child attended Lango's Spanish immersion camp this year and had such a great time! We were thoroughly impressed with the growth in his conversational skills and the care and effort put in by the Lango teachers. As a dual language student, the camp was the perfect opportunity to bridge his school years and maintain language practice over the summer. We only wish we would have started sending him to Lango camp sooner! The instructors explore a variety of topics (Greek mythology, inventors, history, Dr. Seuss, etc.) and world locations with the students, and they have fun learning songs, doing activities (magic show! water games!) and crafts, and preparing a show for families each Friday. I appreciated the weekly emails, videos, and updates and was able to discuss his progress with the director regularly on an individual basis. read more

Langokids has been such a bright spot in my time with my toddler grandson. We started last January 2020 and even through Covid I have watched him learning the language with great efficacy. He loves the classes and is so enthusiastic about learning more words and using them. His parents tell me all the time about ways he uses his Spanish words with great confidence. My wish in enrolling Remy as a toddler would be that he'd learn the language easily and want to continue to learn as he got older. It's clear that he will be a part of Langokids for years to come. I enjoyed participating in the toddler classes, but I look forward to seeing him become more independent as he goes alone to the next classes. He asks for his TV shows and music to be in Spanish now. He loves being enveloped in the language even if his immediate family are not Spanish speakers. No matter what, Remy will have a basis for a second language that will make all his education easier. I do not recommend them. They do not disclose all information about their classes. It is limited to very young kids. We enrolled our 10 years old son in the Spanish class for 5-10, but when the class started, we found out that all kids were at 5 years old level. Requesting for refund as was accepted by them, resulted in $20 deduction and following note: "An administration fee was applied to this refund as stated on our policy. When you sign up for programs, please be sure to know what you are signing up for that way you save people time and the hassle of refunds. Thanks!" Also, when we were there, we asked for the receptionist and found out that the Spanish teacher (probabely the owner) is responsible for everything. read more

LangoKids has been an absolute blessing to our family. These are real professionals who understand of how a child develops second language fluency. The teachers are warm, fun and engaging. Expectations were clear from the beginning--once or twice a week classes are great for steady advancement, but the true learning happens in the immersive summer program. Oh, how right they were! My daughter has attended the summer camp for 3 years (3 weeks each summer) and attended one hour per week classes during the school year. She understands everything and speaks full sentences, frequently having conversations with others in Spanish. My son who has only done one summer camp is speaking full sentences as well. I put Spanish cartoons on in the afternoon and I hear them laughing at the TV. I minored in Spanish in college and I have no idea what the they are saying. Learning Spanish has become a source of pride for my children, and I believe this will be one of the best gifts I can give them. One more thing--I'm super paranoid about Covid but I have no concerns sending my kids to in-person classes at LangoKids. They have an option for zoom classes right now but the structure is so safe that in-person is fine. They distance well and are strict about masks. It's one of the few activities I feel completely safe letting my children do in these times. read more

They have a full immersion program that will get your children speaking Spanish super fast. Covid-19 did not slow us down. They offered Zoom classes and summer camp, which we took advantage of. This is a good introduction to language for young learners, but cannot progress unless you take summer immersion as well that is 2 to 5 full-day weeks. Weekly communication with the teachers is not provided to know what was worked on each week. The only way Lango Kids indicates one can progress to fluency in their system is to spend annual average cost of $3,000-$4,000 (when you combine the tuition with two to five weeks of summer immersion). The weekly class is only "learning of Spanish" and summer is for fluency. This concept was not made clear to us until we were starting our fourth year of the program and the Professor indicated that the weekly class is not effective to progress to Spanish 2. Possible solution: simply do summer immersion and/or hire a bilingual tutor to come to our home and spend meaningful time with our children for the immersion aspect. read more

PARENTS BEWARE!! Investing in your child learning a second language is a substantial decision. After reading some positive reviews we felt inclined to try the program. This program offers ZERO mentorship and or personalized instruction for students. If you are looking for a cattle herding program to spend abstract amounts of money on then you found a winner! While the teachers are friendly we have seen a reversion in our daughter's ability to speak French. The school would love to mistakenly claim that it is due to poor attendance on my Child's part but unfortunately that is not the case. While connecting colored lines to dogs and singing songs my daughter completely regressed in her abilities. What is shameful is that the school provides no feedback to parents other than "Your daughter is not ready for the next class, please pay more money and try again." Public schools with severe overcrowding provide more parent feedback than this program. The program is really geared towards families with bilingual parents so that the PARENT and not the school does the actual teaching. After the parents do the actual teaching the school provides some stickers and tries to take credit for their overpriced daycare service. We were never once given a progress report on our child or tips, advice, coaching or anything of the sort to help her progress. We were led to believe that she was excelling until they told us that she could not move on. Not even the note from her teacher at the end of the classes told us this information. Now i would have not had a problem with their feedback had they not waited 10 weeks to tell me this. Seems like a great way to keep pulling in cash from families. Now, ranting on Yelp for fun is not acceptable so lets understand more of the facts. Unless you want to spend the equivalent of monthly apartment rent for more classes, sending your child to their once a week class will teach them as much of a foreign language as they would get from speaking with the drive through attendant at your local fast food restaurant. They provide 1 cd, 1 "language (i.e. coloring book)" and 1 sheet of paper as homework on a weekly basis. My daughter would learn more from me at night as i worked through Rosetta stone (an actual language program/school) and pointed to pictures on a book than she did in her class. I'd be more than happy to take your hundreds of dollars in daycare fees and give you a coloring book and homemade cd so that you can save yourself the hassle of driving there. Lastly, when my wife tried to provide constructive feedback to the school the literally freaked out. The head instructor wrote a completely bogus and defensive e-mail trying to cover up the program's shortcomings. It is sad because real human beings rely on both positive and negative feedback to improve, but i guess their facility has already been blessed to perfection by every deity so improvement would be impossible (oh wait they actually can't help kids improve either). They were so hyper-obsessed with my wife's negative review that they are still complaining about it through e-mails like the 3 year old's they teach. I'd like to make it clear that the teachers are very friendly and I'm sure great people (the program and head instructor are disasters.) Please think carefully about what type of learning environment your child does best in. There are many wonderful resources, books, internet learning that will save you, time, money and protection from the wrath of the head instructor that are better options. read more

My 18 month daughter enjoys the mandarin class with Miss Mei. The class includes short activities of singing, story time, games, etc. Miss Mei is very good about getting the kids to participate. My daughter started counting 1-10 in mandarin after a couple of sessions! Also, the class is 45 minutes long which is great for kids her age. P.S. She seems to really like the mandarin cds that was provided too - we let her listen to the cd during the car rides and it's one of the only ways to get her to stay in her car seat. read more

My girls (7 & 4) have been going to LangoKids Irvine for Spanish classes and camps for a couple of years now and have learned a lot. The owner, Cristina, and the teachers are very knowledgeable and you can tell that they enjoy what they do. The classes mostly involve learning through singing and playing games and Lango offers movie nights and books to take home and read to reinforce what is learned in class. My only problem is keeping up with my girls! I'm trying to learn Spanish along with them to improve my skills and reinforce their learning and they are keeping me on my toes! 10/4/13: Just noticed that my review has been filtered and I'm kinda upset. Our kids have been in the Lango Spanish and now French program and we love it. They have a wonderful learning environment where kids are encouraged to test out their new language skills with the fantastic native-French speaking instructors. Obviously, it is difficult to learn a language from attending class once/week, but with that and attending their summer camps, and practicing at home, our kids have actually picked up quite a bit of the language! I do not think the classes are suited for young (under 3) children. They have more of a circle time format so if your kid likes to explore this is not the class for you. Do a free trial first- my mistake not doing so. I feel bad because I would have been a long time client in the future however they aren't able to credit for future classes and kinda made it seem as if my child was out of the norm?! We've been taking the Parent and Toddler French classes for a year now and have been extremely pleased with the overall experience. The French instructor, Sophia, is excellent with the young kids and Lango Irvine is lucky to have her. She is very enthusiastic, kind, patient, fun, and simply very good at what she does. It has been amazing to witness our child soaking up another language at this age. She will be moving into the Transitional class soon and I now understand and agree with what the director, Cristina, told me on day one - "stick with it." Consistency and commitment will help your child in this program. We commute over an hour each way for these classes because we believe in it. Cristina and Sophia have been nothing but professional and accommodating throughout. We also commend their beliefs on classroom conduct and feel that it is handled at just the right level. Nothing is worse than investing in extra opportunity for your child and then having it completely disrupted. It can be a fine line, but toddlers are definitely still allowed to be toddlers while learning...singing, dancing, jumping, and twirling. We also appreciate Sophia's ability to cater to both brand new students and those who've taken the class several times. For example, she will teach a single word to a new student, but may expand on it for an older student, perhaps with an added adjective or phrase. All in all, we have no complaints and hope this review helps others make a decision. I have 3 children who have been taking Lango classes for over a year. They also went to 2 weeks of summer camp last year and had a blast. They love their teachers and especially Cosmo. I don't know what the other person is talking about because I always pay upfront with a check. I think each Lango is independently owned and operated so maybe they had a bad experience somewhere else. But in Irvine both Miss Cyndi and Miss Cristina are great. read more

I am amazed at the progress my three year old has made in Spanish after just a few weeks in the Irvine/Lango program. He has begun speaking in Spanish; repeating the words and phrases that he has learned in class. I could not be more impressed with the Langokids Irvine Spanish program. This has been a great experience for my two-year old daughter and myself. We have studied all three languages with and without LangoKids and have found that LangoKids offers the most comprehensive and entertaining lessons. My daughter looks forward to seeing her teachers and has taken on the languages faster than I could have ever anticipated. This is an incredible program with professional teachers, staff, and great materials. As a professional language teacher I am very critical about what my daughter is involved in, however LangoKids hasn't given me any reasons to complain. We have been very happy with the Chinese lessons our son has received. He is an active boy of 3 1/2 and they put a lot of energy into bringing all of the kids into the lesson. With toys, songs, puppets, stuffed animals, hula hoops, parachutes, stickers, crafts, books, pictures, and movement they bring the language to life. The music CD is very well done and my son LOVES to listen to it! We have had two different teachers and we have loved them both. It is a very positive atmosphere with dedicated teachers and staff. We drive a long way to get there (35 min.) because we have had such a great experience and we feel LangoKids Irvine is worth it. read more

The director/owner of the Lango saw this review and figured out who it was and talked to me and encouraged me to reconsider my review so I am updating it to be more complete and detailed so people can make informed choices. Here is my new review: For a business that caters to young children, it does not have an bathroom inside the classroom or suite. It MAY be an issue to some parents that the bathroom is outside the suite two doors down. The suite is one of many in a business complex and you have to leave the suite, walk a few doors down and use a key to enter the business complex's bathroom. If your child is old enough to do this by himself, this will be fine for you. If you have a young child who needs help and you do not stay the whole time, be aware that even though it is against policy, they are sometimes short staff and another parent who you may not know at all will escort your child to the bathroom. This is primarily my reason for the two star rating. If you are looking for a place for your child to hear a language and have some fun singing songs and such, this is the place for you and I would give it 4 stars for that. If you want your child start to read or write by learning the alphabet in the Spanish class where the 5 year olds are, this is not the place for you. I asked the director/owner about this and was told that reading and writing will not start until EVERYONE in the class is ready. You will not have the option of moving the child up to a more advanced class if you want this for your child. This is the rest of the reason why I gave Lango 2 stars. I think the flexibility should be there to move a child up to another class when a new session starts. I asked about this for my child and was told no and the owner/director suggested I should look elsewhere for instruction. This is a good place if you want some oral language instruction and going to the bathroom independently is not an issue. This is not the right place for a person who has a young child who cannot go to the bathroom independently using a key. This is also not the right place for someone whose child 5 year old child is already starting to read and write in that language. Look at all the reviews. There are a few 1 stars and 2 stars and more 5 stars. The older ones are grayed out but still accessible so I would encourage everyone to read them and then make an informed choice depending your needs. read more

Lango Kids Irvine has helped me maintain my children's Spanish language ability. It is phenomenal to see them speaking Spanish, not just conversationally, but using academic language. As a person from Puerto Rico, who has struggled to maintain my own Spanish language literacy, I found it even more difficult to help my children maintain theirs. Lango was the answer I was looking for. They provide flexibility and a challenging curriculum that will allow my children to increase their Spanish language literacy in the future. I am extremely happy with the instruction that my children are receiving, and they are as well. The teachers are very well trained, are committed to your children's learning, and that is obvious by their enthusiasm. We will also be participating in the summer camps this year, which are a great way to familiarize yourself with their services. I can't say enough great things about Lango. read more
