I have two kids who are currently in 9th and 12th grade. Barun Academic Center has been a part of…read moretheir lives since they were in elementary school. As a result, both kids have a solid foundation in math and their writing skills are outstanding. My freshman kid is in pre-calculus right now, and says that class is the easiest of all of the subjects. My 12th grader finished High School Calculus AB and BC (by junior year) getting one A and 3x A+ for those 4 semesters. Because of all of the supplemental math drilling from Baruns, she said calculus, was pretty easy for her. In addition, my eldest kid's writing skills have grown so much through the years while taking various writing classes at Baruns. Baruns has outstanding teachers for writing (among their favs are Stark, Hughes and Jelnick) as well as the math subjects (S. Yoon, et., al). My eldest was able to publish a clinical case report study in a medical journal as a senior in high school. The medical Doctor who reviewed the article prior to publishing, was amazed at her writing process. Much of this development in her writing ability, we attribute to her years spent in supplemental writing classes provided by Baruns. My kids have also benefited from other classes offered such as SAT prep (boot camp), Biology and Chemistry prep. All helpful in allowing my kids to feel comfortable in those classes when taking them in high school. The principal, Ms. Yuri will treat your kids as one of her own, once you are enrolled in any class. She is tenacious, yet loving and will never let your kids slide in to mediocrity, academically. We appreciate all that she has done for our kids and our family.

The majority of my time at Barun consisted of Writing and Math courses throughout elementary, middle, and high school. The preparation and high expectations of success worked excellently to make kids like myself become high achieving especially in the academically competitive city of Irvine. It helped me excel in APPAS, GATE, honors, and bridge exams. In addition, the SAT courses did an amazing job of familiarizing me with the test and preventing test fatigue by having us take constant practice exams. I was very satisfied with my scores and grades throughout my education and I can not thank Barun, specifically Yuri (the lady in charge), enough. Yuri wants the best for her students and this was portrayed through her understanding, caring, yet firm personality. She stresses the importance of learning and this is also representative through the teachers selected for the academy. Barun was different from the other prep centers because of the level of unmatched dedication and involvement that Yuri had in every single student's path. Besides all of my achievements, Barun revives a happy childhood memory in retrospect. I highly recommend checking out Barun because it is truly unique.

Upon our first meeting, the focus of her questions for our son weren't merely about what schools he wants to attend, but instead, more about what he see himself doing, what does he find engaging and exciting and what kind of experience does he want out of life? It caught us off guard, but where a lot of prep agencies are trying to get you to sign up for packages that will hopefully slot you into a statistical possibility of where you want to attend, Director Wonna's approach is more mature and asks more of the student to carefully and enthusiastically consider their vision for their lives and then proceeds with whatever programs she feels will aid that vision. She's caring, precise and direct in her approach and manner, which is refreshing. She's relentless in making sure each student gets what they need, and for that we remain grateful to her and the staff for their efforts.

My son will be starting 11th grade next week and he was sure that he had been mis directed by his school counselors so we called Prime Academy and Mr. Han said that he would meet with us for 45 minutes and help to put him on the right path. We had previously met with 3 fancy academic counselors from Newport Beach but in their first "initial free consultation" they would never actually help you before you sign a contract with them therefore we wouldn't sign with them because we saw in those meetings that they don't know how to address the most basic and elementary question and that is "are you taking the right courses?" My gut feeling was right all along, keep looking until you find the best. And the best has nothing to do with being free or expensive it has to do with quality!

They somehow make math fun, which I didn't think was possible. Math has actually become one of his strengths, and he's now learning with a grade above at school. The coaches are professional but also very approachable, and we've had a great experience with all of them. Ms. Ling (manager for this location) has been always so helpful whenever we need to freeze a few weeks due to traveling or have any questions, she's always so pleasant too. Mathnasium has no set class time. You can drop your child off anytime during their open hours, and the session starts when they check in. We don't have to stress about making a strict 3 pm or 4 pm start time, which works really well with our schedule. There's boba, lots of restaurants, and even a dog grooming spot in the same complex so we'll grab dinner, have a quick boba date, or get our dog groomed while waiting. There's also a trail behind the building, which makes it easy to get a quick walk or some cardio in instead of waiting in the car for an hour. Thank you Mathnasium!!

During the first three months, she struggled to keep up, but when I shared my concerns with Mathnasium, they quickly identified the areas she needed help with and provided the right support. Thanks to their personalized approach, my daughter's confidence grew tremendously. Since then, she's been getting straight A's in math, scoring nearly 100% on most of her tests, and continues to stay in the advances class in 8th grade. She's also ranked among the top group of students in California on the state math tests. The teachers and staff here are absolutely amazing--kind, patient, and always attentive to each student's needs. They genuinely care about helping every child succeed and adjust their teaching to match each student's learning stage. Because of their dedication, I have complete trust and peace of mind sending my daughter here. Mathnasium has not only strengthened her academic foundation but also helped her develop a true love and confidence for math. If your child is struggling or simply wants to get ahead, I can't recommend this place enough. You will definitely see great results!

My daughter was doing reasonably well in math, getting A's... but at times still getting frustrated with some of the concepts. In February of her 6th grade year, we learned that there are two math tracks in IUSD - standard vs enhanced math. And you need to meet 3 of 4 criteria to qualify. We decided to enroll in Mathnasium not only to give her that chance to get into enhanced math, but to also help her confidence in math as she heads into middle school and beyond. We figured building up her math foundations and filling in any gaps in knowledge would only be an asset for all aspects of life. She's been going since end of February - 3x a week for the last 3 months. And we just found out she passed all 4 criteria to get into enhanced math!! Mathnasium has been a great choice and we highly recommend! Quick Overview of How Mathnasium works: - They'll do an assessment to get a baseline idea of where your child is at. Then create a custom plan - They can go any day/time each week up to 3x a week, so there is flexibility in scheduling.. but if you go less than 3x a week you lose the day - You can pay monthly or buy a 6 month package upfront - With their 6 month memberships, students are able to pause their accounts during school-sanctioned vacations such as winter, summer, fall, and spring breaks at no consequence. In addition to those weeks, each account is given 4 weeks of hold time to apply towards sick weeks, busy weeks, or additional vacations. - They provide regular progress report updates so you have visibility into the topics your child is tackling
