TRP has been such a wonderful experience for our family. Everyone here from the teachers to the front office staff and administrators have created a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment where your children develop and thrive. This is a school where a real sense of community exists. Entire families really get to know each another through the wonderful school activities and events throughout the years. Staff goes the extra mile to really get to know your child and family. We'll never forget how one of our son's teachers delivered a special sign filled with messages from his classmates when he was in the hospital. Most importantly, the curriculum and teaching methods are excellent. The school utilizes the perfect amount of technology that is age-appropriate. By the time our kids left kindergarten, they were more than prepared for the first grade. The emphasis on social skills and kindness is also invaluable. Our children have always enjoyed going to school each day and seeing their teachers and classmates. In fact, they never want to leave when we pick them up, and that's always been a great sign. Turtle Rock Preschool has been the perfect school for our son as we settled into Irvine. Going in, we wanted a place where our son could grow up as a warm-hearted, loving person and be instilled a sense of curiosity for the environment and people around him -- TRP has knocked it out of the park on both so far. In our second year with the school, our experience with teachers, staff, and families have all been incredible. Not only are teacher student ratios great, they pair up the teachers into perfect "teams" that seem to balance foundational principles really well. We see the teacher teams are able to prioritize both fun and education, fitness and discipline, and experience and creativity. TRP is where staff knows kids by names, and where families become new best friends. It is also situated in a quiet part of Turtle Rock with access to a ton of shared natural playground space where kids can hang out before, during, and after classes vs. some other options we looked at that are situated in the middle of a more commercial backdrop. School leadership under Maajed really emphasized this aspect, which resonated with us during the tours and has come through for our son in a big way IRL! read more

We've had a wonderful experience at Turtle Rock Preschool with both of our children. We initially waitlisted for the infant room with our first (which speaks to the high demand and great ratios), and our child later joined at 2.5 years old for preschool. The classroom ratios are low, with attentive teachers plus circulating classroom helpers who provide extra support. The curriculum goes beyond just play, there's real structure, themes, and learning around letters, numbers, colors, and ideas. We've seen great growth in our kids academically and socially. Add there is a full time chef on staff for kids to have freshly cooked warm meals daily, that helped me greatly not have to worry daily about meal prep. As working parents, we really appreciate that Turtle Rock offers full day care while still providing a strong educational and playful environment. I don't have to worry if my kids are doing well as they update you nearly daily with photos and messages , and you can message the teachers as needed as well throughout the day . I've been part of the turtle rock preschool family since 2021 and we truly love this school. The teachers and staff are warm, loving, and straight up phenomenal. When I drop off my son I know he is safe and in good hands. My seven years old still runs up to his pre-k teacher for hugs. Their curriculum is thoughtfully designed to create a strong foundation for success. You get your traditional math, science, writing, and on top of that there are enrichment classes such as gymnastic, music, dance, and so much more. Enrolling our kids at Turtle Rock Preschool has been one of our best parenting decisions to date. The teachers and staff are lovely. They genuinely care about kids and are so friendly. We feel confident when we drop them off that they will be looked after with love and attention everyday. The curriculum is varied with art projects, cooking projects, science experiments, outdoor play time, music class, even dance and gymnastics are available. There is also special programming for holidays, including all different religious and social backgrounds. There were dragon dancers for Lunar New Year and a presentation for Nowruz, spring egg hunt, mothers/fathers/grandparents day celebrations, a Valentine's Day card exchange, a Halloween bash, a winter holiday concert and a family fun fair. The teachers to student ratio is small and diversity in class is a real priority. Turtle Rock Preschool is a real community. We have play dates on weekends, parent group chats and I can honestly say, the other parents are some of the kindest people around. Our son has been attending Turtle Rock Preschool for almost 2 years now and it has been a wonderful experience so far. The teachers are excellent, attentive and very passionate about what they do. Our son has also made many friends at the school, it's definitely a community. Our two daughters have attended Turtle Rock for the past three years, and we absolutely love it! From the moment we stepped into Turtle Rock Preschool for our tour, we knew it was the place we wanted our children to be each day--to learn, grow, and thrive. TRP exudes such a warm, happy, and inviting environment, and we could instantly tell this was someplace special. What makes TRP truly stand out are the incredible people who work there. The reason for one star is the way TPS handled COVID situations. Their management decided to shutdown the pre-school and seized everyone's security deposit (one month tuition). then turtle Rock Preschool management sent letters to parents begging us to pay half the tuition so we don't lose our registration status. Public PPP loan data shows turtle rock preschool received substantial financial help from government but still fooled the parents to keep the tuitions coming while in shutdown and most staff laid off. ***Update*** This review is NOT about how you ran the preschool during covid. It's about how Turtle Rock seized one month advanced tuition and March 15th to March 30th when school was closed. You made us to pay for the service that we never received. You know exactly who I'm. My daughter attended one of the pre-K classes at Turtle Rock Preschool this past year, and we had the most amazing experience. TRP is an outstanding combination of rigorous academics nestled in a warm and nurturing community. Every morning when you walk through the door, all the staff greet you with a friendly smile. Everyone quickly knows you by name. The curriculum really challenges the children, but they also have so much fun learning. There are many opportunities and events for the whole family to be involved in throughout the school year. Having spent 3 years at TRP preschool, I feel I can give candid and comprehensive feedback on our experience. Firstly, the administration is dishonest. The owner's mother is the worst offender, she will lie to your face, and if you call out her lies and provide irrefutable proof, she recoils and has the audacity to lie again saying she never said that, despite saying it just a few minutes earlier. She has an anger management problem and seems to prefer all interactions on the phone, perhaps so she can freely scream at paying parents without any witnesses. Should you make the unfortunate mistake of enrolling your child in this school, be sure to avoid her at all costs, or, if you must interact, never do it over the phone and have witnesses (not TRP employee witnesses, as they have undying loyalty to the owner's mother, as she most probably instilled a fear in them to change their stories to make her look good). Secondly, if your child is bullied by another child, TRP admin will only protect the bully. There were many instances of bullying by one child in particular over a two-year span that was documented (by multiple parents) and discussed with the teachers over the years, however, the administration including the director and the owner's mother not only protected the bully, but they also did nothing to protect the children (yes, plural children) who were being bullied. One child eventually chose to leave the school after the administration flat out stated the bully was staying at the school and there would be no action plan to support the bullied child in the classroom. Greed. When the pandemic hit in early 2020, the school shut down. They then emailed parents thanking them for continuing to pay the full tuition rate (in effect, trying to shame them into doing it) and insinuated the parents were solely responsible for supporting the school and keeping it operational. A simple Google search will show that the owner received 2 PPP loans totaling $683,125 in 2020 and 2021, even when charging parents as full or close-to-full tuition rates. Later, they offered a very small discount and told parents they had to request it in writing - it wasn't automatically applied. I know many parents felt pressured not to request due to the multiple emails TRP sent publicly giving praise to the parents who were paying full tuition. Truly manipulative behavior. During this time, most private schools / Montessori's in Irvine offered 75% or more tuition discounts and no penalties for early disenrollment. TRP maintained their full penalties for early disenrollment during the pandemic and would make comments to parents who disenrolled that most likely there would not be a spot for the child once the school got back to in-person learning, in effect trying to scare the parent into maintaining enrollment. TRP leads and controls by fear. Siblings are not given priority for enrollment. Countless parents were denied enrollment for their second child. TRP does not want parents speaking to each other or comparing any experiences with each other. They will plaster their fake smiles on their faces when you walk in, but anytime you have any questions or have a concern about your child's wellbeing, all bets are off. They want you to stay quiet and will threaten you and your child with school expulsion if you speak to other parents, surely because they don't want parents to see a pattern of failure by TRP staff. Safety is well below standards for a private school. Children in the summer program sleep directly on classroom floors without sheets. When the mask mandate was lifted, the admin at the front desk immediately unmasked, laughing, and making jokes with parents saying they were so happy to finally see their faces. All fun and games for them until within one week a teacher brought Covid to the classroom and infected more than half the class. Then they had the audacity to send an email to parents reminding them to practice COVID safety measures when they themselves don't. Children were not assisted on field trips when they needed to use the toilet when they were too high for them to reach, despite repeated requests to the field trip chaperones. School grounds' safety. With the recent school shooting, school safety has been paramount. TRP regularly leaves doors either fully propped open or unlocked during school hours. Yes, there is a code at the front door, but parents open it for other people without a second glance. The outdoor fence for the school is low enough for any intruder to hop over. They say they leave the doors open because of COVID, yet with all that PPP money they wouldn't invest in a HEPA filter system and lock the doors - they prefer to keep the money in their pockets and just put the kids + teachers at risk. Over 3 years, the experience got markedly worse, especially in the final year. Sharing our experience candidly to help other parents who may be considering TRP for their children. read more

As a parent of two kids (8 years old and 3 years old), I think Turtle Rock Preschool is the best preschool in the entire Orange County. 1. FAIR, informative and considerate enrollment process I see some reviewer left a 1-star review complaining his kid didn't get admitted because the school's enrollment process was competitive. While everyone is entitled to his own opinion, I think the rating is unfair. I feel this is just like you left a 1-star review on an Apple product because it was more expensive than a cheaply made knockoff. We should focus on the quality. Our first kid applied twice but didn't get the chance to attend the school. Our second kid applied and eventually attended the school four years later. Not getting admitted to the program or being putting on the waitlist doesn't mean "our kids are not good". It is sad some review thought in that way. To us, the application process has always been transparent. The admission staff are extremely considerate and informative. 2. Well-organized learning program focusing on both academics and social development It is truly amazing to see how fast our kid grows at Turtle Rock Preschool in just a little more than half a year. They have so many different and fun curriculums that our kid can get the well-rounded experience. Our Kido gets to explore the new things, make and play with friends, and don't want to leave the school. 3. Professional and patient teachers and staff Our kid is very awaring. The teachers are extremely encouraging. Our kid has been given enough time and patience, and also properly challenged to play, learn and grow. Without such fantastic teachers, we cannot image such a progress in communication, academics and sports can ever be achieved. 4. Safe and diversified Campus As far as I notice, the community is well diversified and the campus is extremely safe. There are extremely strict procedures implemented at the school to ensure kids' safety. We toured and applied most of the private schools in Orange County. In regards to earlier childhood education, we think Turtle Rock Preschool is SECOND TO NONE. read more

The owners mother came back to me and said you wrote this in the survey and xyz wrote this. Why are you lying to the all the parents about the survey being anonymous when it is not. This demonstrates an unethical and a shallow behavior. The owner and his mother lie and are unethical and have no integrity. NAEYC - are you listening? A whole bunch of their staff, owners mom and the owner (the son) sat me down in the glass conference room to the right and kept telling me that I am a bad parent. The owners mom went to the extent of saying you need to discipline your child and do what it takes to discipline them ie - yell and hit them. She said that she came from a country where these things are allowed and work well. No wonder my sons teacher yelled at him in front of me. This tells me this school runs on low principals. Leadership at this preschool is very questionable. The director frens seems non-exist during parent - teacher disagreement. When I don't agree with how my 3 year old is treated, I don't see any input from the director at all. Since the first week, I have been notified my 3 year old develeopment delay, consistently from his lead teacher Every DAY during pick ups. His strength to hold a pen is too weak etc. It is very true my boy is behind, and the director has confirmed that, we as parents have done everything we could for the 3 year old. Again this conversation happened not in a quite room but in a public area where every one can hear this. after One year effect since age of two, my boy finally starts talking at the age of 3 and 1 month. Many other people are late talkers, for example, well know famous current President. My neighbor's daughter stops saying words at the age of 3 and suddenly starts saying complete sentence at the age of 4. Has everyone just talk to our president consistently 'you do not speak at the age of 3' like talking to my three year old boy ? My point is, from his lead teacher, he is full of questionable issues, not a whole kid. He is such a smiley kid, happy August boy. Every time I drop off my kiddo at 7: 30'am; his lead teacher was always working on house keeping (cleaning garbage can) instead coming and talking with him. His teacher looked at him as the same as trash ( what she was working on) , I feel, my boy all areas needing fixing. The owner's mum think the only one to blame was my parenting style. So, I was misunderstood and labeled as a sugar mom or something. She used me as the only reason my boy wasn't able to follow his teacher's instructions. Before this school, we enrolled at another naeyc certified program. There, the lead teacher noticed every single progress my boy accomplished immediately the same day, and showed me how my boy learnt quickly by virtual pictures. She showed me how she potty trained my boy and asked me to work on the same. After this short time with TRP, I carefully chose another NAEYC certified program with 1:5 teacher to kid ratio. All definitely five star reviews on Yelp- No single dissatisfied parent. my boy starts to follow teacher's instructions, try new food, and most importantly happy again. I was so excited. At the new school , the same thing happened to us when one of his teachers starts to complain about my boy consistently and she got fired before the summer camp. The new school director ensured me my boy won't be treated as the sole direction of the teachers. Even after I wrote a long letter about my boy's problems and how to deal with them, the new director just replied- Don't worry, Please. That day, the new teachers came out to my car, and gave me big hugs. From my three NAEYC certified preschool experiences, TRP is the only school where the preschool director does not put effect into helping my boy but only let teachers dislike him and allow this dislike feeling toward myself. I am very glad I got back my one month deposit back from turtle rock preschool after she dumped us out like throwing out garbage. If I could get my three month paid tuition back that would be fair , as neither my boy nor myself has been treated fairly. read more

We came upon Turtle Rock Preschool when looking for a daycare for our little girl. The Admission's Director, Crystal, was very friendly and informative during the touring process. She made us feel confident and secure in sending our first child to day care at 3.5 months old. Maria and Sara, the teachers for the infant room, are very warm and outstanding individuals. Each day at drop off, my husband and I felt very comfortable handing over our little girl to them. She ended up loving them and would light up at seeing them each day, just as she would light up at seeing us. They kept us informed about how she was doing/performing in the classroom across all aspects, including eating, sleeping, playing, and overall development. Unfortunately, we've moved out of the area and are no longer able to have our little girl attend Turtle Rock, which has been the hardest part of our move for me. We greatly wish we could take them with us and it's going to be very hard to find anything comparable to Turtle Rock's facility quality, including the creative play spaces and programs for the children across all ages. My daughter finished Pre K at Turtle Rock Preschool in 2015. She began in the three year old room and finished in the Pre K room. Each year she was there twice a week for four hours. Long story short I strongly feel the school is driven by money. Our first year there were a few fundraisers. I didn't feel comfortable having my three year old sell cookies. If the school really needs the funds then they should raise the tuition. Which they actually do yearly. Here are examples of why I am disappointed: *When Santa came to take pictures with the children who paid $20 to see him I asked the office if they were making a profit (the email they had sent said they were) the response was no. Once I told her the email stated differently she said she wasn't sure. The money was to be sent to a local charity and apparently the school took some. *When the school had a pumpkin patch and sold pumpkins for $10+ dollars office made sure to mention that they were so nice to take a complimentary picture of my daughter with her pumpkin. Needless to say the following year we skipped the pumpkin patch at school. I say for $10+ pumpkin they should take a complimentary picture. *I feel the teachers in the three year old room could have been more welcoming and warm. *This year while waiting for my daughters dance recital I happened to glance into her room and see that her classmates were there and she wasn't. I asked the teacher where my daughter was and she didn't know. I found her outside with another class. Thankfully the office did address the staff and some were written up. *Teacher decided to take the last day of school off to celebrate her birthday. Being that the class ends at 12:30 I'm thinking she could have begun celebrating then. *I did take my one year old off the waist earlier this year. I'm so glad I did. *I had a meeting at the owners (mother/son) request. The mother was nice and understanding. The son Maajed however didn't seem to care about what made be unhappy over the last two years. Due to things that made me unhappy over the past two years is why I removed my daughter from the wait list. He had requested to speak with me and then didn't want to hear what I had to say. He did decide it was appropriate to share what friends of mine put on the anonymous survey they send out yearly. *They just recently decided to cut the half day program. The two day half day program was $460 a month. Now for two days at full time is $660! I think it's so sad that they are driven by money. Not all parents want to send their children to an all day program. I certainly wouldn't pay for full time and pull my child out at half day. In the end My daughter enjoyed her time there. That's what is most important. read more

TurtleRock is my son's home away from home. He started out in the infant program when he was 4 months old, and he has been loved and cared for physically and mentally by the teachers and staff at TurtleRock every day since. I love that each program is structured with age-appropriate daily activities for sensory, play time outside, stories, and weekly nature walks and music classes. With each age-related transition additional age-appropriate activities are added to help kids meet their developmental milestones. Since he has been one, he does a weekly cooking activity. As a working mom, knowing my son is getting all of this at school is a dream. Even if I stayed at home I don't think I could provide the equivalent amount of activities, variety, structure. Not to mention as a first-time parent, seeing the teachers at work and how they handle certain hard situations has also helped me be a better mom. I also love that the teachers consistently communicate with how my son is doing and immediately point out any concerns. Finally the snacks and meals are a gift. My son eats a much wider variety of foods because of the amazing cooking. We are so grateful for the TurtleRock teachers, staff and families. read more

I absolutely love this school!!! My 6 year old finished kindergarten this year and went off to first grade at Vista Verde. The teacher said that they prepared him very well. That his reading and math are at a second grade level. What I love about this school is that the staff is always, I mean always, very friendly and approachable. My two younger kids still go there. They just moved to JPK and PK. They love their new teachers and the classrooms. Would definitely recommend this preschool. We have been there for over 3 years. read more

I can't think or even imagine a better place than Turtle Rock Preschool for my children to learn, grow, and be cared for in their earliest formative years! Our kids both started in the Nursery Program, which is so much more than just "daycare", with one kid now in Junior Pre-K. Our family could not speak more highly of Turtle Rock Preschool! We moved to Irvine for the schools and our daughter was with family until she was 3 years old. I'm sure you could imagine our care and concern as we were selecting a school. The moment we had our tour I knew that the very best was right here, and that was what we wanted; what parent doesn't. We feel like such a part of the Turtle Rock family. Our daughter and I bonded with her teachers immediately. They do such an amazing job selecting families who are truly invested in their child's education as well as the community. Some of our very best friends as adults are from friendships our little girl has forged on their playgrounds. We also see her knowledge and social skills just flourishing. The whole staff has taken an interest in our child, but I see it with all of the families who walk through the door. Another huge benefit is how they have worked with us through normal childhood milestones like potty training and overcoming picking eating. They care so much it's just incredible. If this school went through grade 12 we would be honored to remain a part of this incredible institution!! read more

We are such advocates for Turtle Rock!! My wife researched about ten preschools before finding and falling in love with TRP. The teachers and staff have made such a positive impact in our our children's development. They have outstanding curriculum and programs for all the ages they serve. We absolutely love all the teachers, they are all exceptional!! Mrs. Marcy in particular taught both of our kids and has made such a positive impact on our kids and their development. My two daughters have been attending Turtle Rock Preschool for the past 2 years (started in the Toddler and Junior Pre-K programs) and we absolutely love this school! It is a wonderful environment for children to learn and grow. TRP has especially helped my older daughter, who was shy initially, gain confidence and develop a stronger independence. The teachers and front office are very nurturing and truly care about the children. They are always available to talk to parents about any concerns or questions and also provide daily updates on what children are doing in class. The curriculum is well-organized, interesting, and encourages children to explore new concepts. There are new activities and lessons each day to foster learning and creativity. TRP also integrates music into their curriculum with Mr. Aaron, who comes on a weekly basis to introduce the children to various instruments and music. The children have so much fun with him, in addition to all of the other school events and programs. My girls love going to TRP, and I definitely recommend it without hesitation. We've had such a great experience that there was no question for our older daughter to continue on to kindergarten at TRP next year. My daughter and I just absolutely love everyone there Turtlerock Preschool since day one. It's really the happiest place in Irvine. And would love to share our experience there with other families that is looking for a great place to send their children. My daughter started at the preschool at 6 months old, and since we have almost been here for two years. Phoebe started in Room 1 with Miss Sara and Miss Maria. Both great teachers and really taught Phoebe to be independent and helped developed her in many areas. There are always plenty of activities that are planned out each day and many outdoor fun and games and artwork and music lessons. Phoebe eventually graduated to Room 2 once she turned one year old, and she had many great teachers there too with Miss Maggie, Miss Fatima, Miss Czrina and Miss Anna. All the lessons daily are filled with fun and exciting activities, cooking, nature walk, sing a long, and circle time, and a great outdoor playground with school bunny. And also weekly music lessons and dance time. And then in Room 3 more and more fun and learning, with Miss Shelbi and Miss Natalie. Wonderful loving teachers. The campus is clean, and with friendly and kind teachers and staff. The director of the school is super amazing Ms. Francesca, very caring individual, and plus Ms. Crystal from admission and administration just personable and great to work with. My daughter has made so much progress and had so much fun at this school. She looked forward to going to school every day. And when I go pick her up from school everyday, she doesn't want to leave. The school campus is very safe using the latest technologies of security keypad using your own designated PIN to enter into campus and the school is nest in a very quiet residential area of Turtlerock. I highly recommend the happy school. Tour the campus you will fall in love there. It's a great place! read more

Disclaimer: This is an unsolicited review, simply feeling the urge; I don't consider myself a "tiger parent" since I simply want my children to have fun I am writing this as a returning parent, 4 years apart between my 2 children. My child currently enrolls in the preschool program. Her brother finished K there. First of all, we didn't just blindly return without doing our research. We toured a number of daycare centers and decided, without debates, TRP was still right for us. These qualities attract us the most, among other: safe environment: non-overcrowding classrooms, well-organized, clean, noticeable upkeeping open & frequent communication: from meal plans, daily activities, curriculum, to progress updates, there are no lapse of information secular setting: simply a personal preference; that said, love and care fill the atmosphere family-run business: even the daycare is well established and everything is humming along, the owners continue to greet us parents, help the staff, attend events and graduations. What's the word for it? Arh, dedication. staff: High retention is important. There are a number of staff who has been with TRP for years. Not just 5 or 10, but 20+, 30+ years; furthermore, staff are friendly and professional. They are also very accommodating to individual needs, especially when dealing with kids at young ages. I can't say enough good things about Turtle Rock Preschool. I looked at probably 20 schools before deciding on TRP and I could not be happier with their staff and their program. I have seen a huge difference in both of my children since starting there. Although the academic aspect of the program is wonderful, the emphasis on play and social skills has really made an impact on the behavior I see at home and towards others in general. Even my three year old is learning to be considerate of others in ways I wouldn't have expected. I highly recommend Turtle Rock Preschool for anyone looking for a top notch program for their 0-6 year old! read more
