Fantastic service and excellent food. The blackened redfish, gumbo, and red beans and rice (our favorite) were fantastic. It's a great atmosphere and quick service from order to food delivery. Decided to eat at Leah's whilst waiting for our flight out of NOLA and all three of us were so pleased we made that decision. Excellent food which is usually not the norm at airports, a very pleasant experience all round. We had the Creole shrimp and the redfish, all delicious. A big shout out to new server Brenell, only started work at Leah's two weeks ago. She was charming and competent, answering our questions and serving us very efficiently. So I am in many airports for work and pleasure and I must say this is by far the best restaurant I've been to in an airport. My expectations were not set too high because let's be real it's an airport! Although I've had great experiences elsewhere but Leah's has taken the number one spot! Aron was absolute amazing! He was friendly attentive and made my guest experience second to none. Words cannot accurately describe the service he provided. Leah, if you are still alive, PROMOTE THIS MAN! Million dollar smile and the personality to match. He gave me great recommendations to try and it was spot on. Had a GREAT EXPERIENCE at the New Orleans airport location while waiting for a flight. Started off with a little history about the family business from my waiter Aaron. He was Excellent!!! I had the crab cake , cup of gumbo, red beans and rice, collard greens and the bread pudding.... Yes a wanted to sample a little bit of every thing. Also had a specialty drink called the crown jewel...I think that was the nand. The food at Leah's Kitchen was excellent. And the server was amazing.... They don't follow the stated hours, so they close early or whenever they want. They also don't even have the decency to put up a closed sign or indicate they are closed during operating hours. Instead they just glare at you and indicate with a rude gesture that they are closed. This restauarant doesn't deserve a spot in the airport. read more

Fried chicken was very oversold. It certainly lacked flavor overall and considering this is their specialty makes it even more disappointing. Fries didnt even taste fresh. God awful service was the cherry on top. There are much better options in this airport. read more

Stay away from the crab cake. It was advertised as lump, but it was a mushy mess, came out lukewarm and tasted like a frozen patty. I finished mine due to time constraints but the lady next to me sent hers back. She also said the grits in the shrimp and grits were lumpy and didn't finish that, but she liked the cup of gumbo she ordered. Probably one of the best omlets I've had ever with shrimp. It was a BBQ shrimp omlet and boy was it delicious. I don't think I ever recalled not eating a omlet without ketchup. The sauce was so good. Service was nice, the only real issue was they had a bunch of beers that were out. I asked for a few beers on the menu, only to be told they were out. However the food made up for it. read more

This place is more like your grandma's kitchen than it is airport food. I had the fried chicken wings and they were better than some restaurants we ate at in NOLA. My wife had a chicken salad and she felt the same way about her salad. Alan was our server, he was a 10! Alan was very nice, attentive and he got us a table just as they were closing. Alan didn't have to seat us, but he did without hesitation and with a smile. We'd eat there again without a doubt. read more

Food was tasty, server was rude. The menu listed the mimosa for $10, but on our ticket it had it for $11.75. When we brought it to the server's attention she was non apologetic and insisted that she's never seen a charge of $10 for a mimosa. I explained to her that she should bring it to the manager's attention and it's not my fault. Needless to say I think she was having a rough day. Nevertheless, if you can't display courtesy and professionalism when it's not the customers fault then find another line of work because this isn't for you. read more

Waited 90 minutes for my meal. It appeared the server forgot, but blamed it on what we ordered (the fried chicken special) saying that it takes longer for that food. While giving us this bogus story, tons of chicken flowed out of the kitchen to customers who had arrived and ordered long after us. When the chicken did finally arrive, it was dry. read more

Subpar service like most places in New Orleans. Had no biscuits so had to eat a pulled pork benedict on soggy toast. Lunch for whatever reason was halted too and new guests weren't allowed in ( restaurant was nowhere near packed). While prices for cocktails were listed wine and beer were not. 14 dollars for cocktail seemed reasonable so 1 of us ordered that. I ordered the house Chardonnay which was ok. When the bill came the glass of wine was 20.00 WTf had to be a mistake it was Meoimi which runs 14 dollars a bottle. Even with thee normal crazy markup this should have been about 10 or 12. I have been a fan of Dookey Chase restaurant since I was a child...it's been a staple in my home city! So you can imagine my excitement to learn that "Leah's Kitchen" was coming to the #NewMSY (New Orleans' new airport). On my trip back to Atlanta, I knew that this was the first place I wanted to eat in the airport, despite all the options being AMAZING. Leah's kitchen DID NOT disappoint. I was there Thanksgiving weekend, and left on "Black Friday", when travel was at an all time high. I was immediately sat in the restaurant, and immediately approached by a server. She took my drink and appetizer order (I had the Creole Gumbo as an appetizer), and quickly returned with what I requested. The Creole Gumbo is probably the best restaurant gumbo I've ever had......and that's not easy to say AT ALL! All of the flavors in the gumbo are EXACTLY what you want your gumbo to be. (I'm talking to you Buzzfeed, Tasty Kitchen, and Food Network...pay attention!). I also got the Creole Burger on french bread (so it could be a Po'Boy), and it was nothing short of amazing!!!!! It was prepared exactly as I requested, and came out hot and fresh. My server checked on my frequently, but without being annoying, and I had a really great experience. I saw a lot of reviews indicating that the service was an issue, and I would encourage those people to go back. They've had right at a month to get into a routine and get everything right. My flight was arriving a good four hours before my family, so I wanted to sit down and relax and grab a drink and a small bite to eat before they arrived. As soon as I sat down I was offered a menu and the waitress asked what I wanted to eat. I gave her my drink order but asked if I could please have a minute with the menu. She came back a couple minutes later and had forgotten what I ordered to drink so I politely reminded her. Once I got my drink I sat comfortably for about twenty minutes before I was ready to order. However once I was ready to order, my waitress was nowhere to be found. I sat patiently for about an hour an a half as I finished my drink. Still no one asked if I wanted anything to eat. I decided okay well if I finish my drink then they have to come ask if I would like another at that point and then I can order right? Wrong. I sat with an empty beer and no food for about two hours. She finally came over to bring me the check, but had the audacity to then ask if I wanted to keep the menu or wanted another drink? At that point my family was landing in an hour and we were going to dinner so I didn't order anything. The lady next to me got the wrong order, as well as multiple tables getting food they didn't order or the wrong drinks or food.
