Heard about this place through the grapevine of friends. Everyone was talking/posting pictures about these cute teddy bears, and I was all too excited to try!
Coming North Broward, it's a little tricky to find the actual location. It is in the far corner of the plaza next to the City Bikes, a cute little hole -in-the-wall. As its name suggests, when you walk in you're welcomed to the most decorated place with plants, everywhere! It was nice and refreshing! You can smell the fresh air, literally. They have cute treehouses of plants everywhere. At the cashier, there is an actual working lamp, where the base is a fish tank with a Beta-fish inside. So cool. They have a corner where they store games, and comic books, and videos - they were actually playing Dragon Ball Z episodes on a projector from the ceiling. Pretty trendy. Immediately to your right is acute lounge area, with a hanging seat, in front of a grass wall with neon lights - the iconic spot for the perfect picture. The actual venue is pretty small, it can get pretty cramped in there. The entire staff are wearing masks; you need a mask to enter, but seating is available. A new, trendy spot for some boba and tea - thankfully there wasn't a wait when we went, it was a random 2pm on a Monday. But I can definitely tell that this place gets packed on the weekends, with a line out front, and sometimes they run out of bears!
So to the menu! It's not your average boba place, they have a few selective drinks. They do not have taro flavors, but they have a rich Thai tea that was very flavorful without being too sweet (some places use so much milk!). I was super impressed with the flavor profile - probably one of the better Thai teas I've ever had. I also got a milk tea teddy bear to go on top. And to be honest, it was cute to take a picture, but I couldn't really bite into it. I forget to ask how are we suppose to eat this really; they probably have an answer for that! Anyways, they hype was too real for me. I ended up dropping my bear into my drink when I was half finished and it melted a little, and then I started to taste the milk tea. So that was really cool. I was also impressed by their straws. I'm not too sure what its made of, maybe bamboo, but it wasn't plastic, and definitely not those paper straws that get soggy! Also, their boba was different, but in a good way, I think it's actually jelly boba. It was pretty good.
I also tried their pork belly banh mi and although the flavors weren't there, I appreciated the bread very much. It was crunchy yet soft enough to not tear my upper palate. I gave this place a three star, I personally set high expectations because of the teddy bears, but there were things missing in each item. I do want to go back and try their Crab Meat Udon soup, because that just sounds so yummy. read more
