Service: This was fine. We choose the outdoor seating which we prefer so it's hard to tell what others around us were being served or doing but they were nice enough. One thing I don't like is when I order at a place and no one comes to check in or offer a 2nd round of drinks. But the drinks were super expensive compared to other spots/lounges on the Boulevard. The Smokey old fashioned tasted like it was made with a mixed drink kit and they just had to add water. The drink I got was also pretty watered down tasting and also $16 each. I would have liked to see what else they offered, but I'm not sure overall that it's worth it. Food: I ordered an appetizer of plantains done "tapas" style which were awesome (9/10) and my boyfriend got the skewered steak but for some reason, they had to warn us it's not on a skewer after all and asked if we still wanted it. Well it practically looked like a plate of sides (cut up onions, tomatoes and beef) that someone would build a pita or some kind of taco (3/10). Was not worth $17. Should have come with some bread or starch, but that was extra. Ambiance: Music was fine but again, we were outside so it's hard to tell what it would be like from the inside. I just wish they could price their drinks and meals closer to other places in the area. I could have gotten a HUGE plate of shrimp nachos or 2 happy hour apps or 2 drinks from anywhere else for the price of 1 item from here. Passing by with some, we couldn't help be drawn in by the afrobeats music. Walking in, what a vibe! With no cover charge, from the decor to the beats, it definitely got us bumping! Service is slow and the wait for a drink is ungodly. You'd think the long wait meant a good drink but it was terrible. We ordered old fashioneds and they never came. First they said it's only one bar tender, then they brought out whiskey on the rocks. We informed that this is not what we ordered and the server's remark was "yesterday the other person said the drink was too sweet, so we didn't make it sweet." This made zero sense and we requested for the drink to be made over. Another long wait ensued only to be told that they ran out of whiskey and had to go purchase some. If you can't make an old fashioned just say that. They brought back out the same whiskey on rocks, no garnish, nothing. Just an all around terrible drink and customer service. I wish the music was Afro beats or a mix instead of old school jams, I can't get Afro beats anywhere. This place is not for me. read more

Plenty of tables all around if you coming for an intimate thing for two or want to party with a group. Grab a comfty couch, hookah, and enjoy. Dj was all over the place just trying to read the room and get people to get up and dance but the drinks were coming out slow. After the first round, people repeatedly came up to the tables asking for next orders even though we had JUST received drinks (actively being placed in front of us). Every time I come here the DJ is always a hit! He plays everything and interacts with the crowd well. I must say though the food stole the show, I was genuinely taken aback by the flavor, goodness gracious! We ordered some egg rolls and baked wings. The wings were so good you could taste it in the bones (if you know you know). The egg rolls have a spicy sauce on them that took the already great flavor up a notch. Food was 10/10. I would keep coming back just for that alone, hahah. At our table we got a bottle of champagne , Casa Migos and of course a hookah. I'm in town for a few days and wanted to get out and dance. This beautiful, clean and very well decorated lounge did not disappoint. I danced from the moment I walked in until I left, 3.5hrs later. I was looking for a spot to celebrate a friend's birthday and Afro Lounge was recommended to me so I decided to check it out. We were able to make a same day reservation for dinner for a group of 7 which is practically unheard of in most establishments these days so that was a plus for me! We arrived at 9pm and were seated immediately. Our server, from start to finish was amazing. I regret not getting his name, but he was super attentive to our group. I ordered the crab cakes and wings for the table, and for my entree the griot with djon djon rice and plantains. Though I wasn't a fan of the crab cakes, the griot was amazing!! It was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Everyone else in the group raved about their food as well, so definitely a hit for us. After dinner we decided to stay around and enjoy the DJ and some drinks. We asked our server about bottle service and within minutes were seated in a comfortable section with our bottles and hookah. The DJ played a good mix of Afrobeats, Soca, Kompa, Hiphop, and R&B. Super cute place to eat and catch a vibe. The food is delicious 10/10. The service was pretty good. If you stay after dinner, there's a live dj and in my opinion the perfect amount of people for a nice lounge vibe. Not crowded at all. Im an old employee there who left because she wasn't getting paid on time. This job seriously effected my mental health for the worse. Great owner but terrible at business. We weren't getting paid on time or correct. We don't get any of the service charge we don't even know where it goes. They run through employees like diapers because everytime an employee question them about their pay or not wanting to wait 3-4weeks for a paycheck that was contracted as biweekly they remove us off the schedule until we quit. I wanted to sue but my lawyers said it's not worth it especially since the only correct business move they did was make us sign 1099 but had us paid under the table via Zelle. The food is good but it's other places with better food I wouldn't support a business like this. You're putting money into their pockets while they skip out on their own employees. Truely hope this place gets shut down in the future if they can't figure out how to pay their employees correctly read more

This spot's a vibe. The food was delicious, the music was excellent, the crowd chill and ready to dance. The only down side of this spots are their drinks. The cups are massively small, and drinks are incredibly weak. Please pre-game before you get there. I wouldn't go back in a heart beat.
