There is problem with fir or pine needles , they will not wash off. if you touch your gutter in way there is a charge. I have their service people several times and each time there is something wrong the last service group. I have lots of photos with problems , but there is know way to post the photos. The estimator, Steve, promised to re-anchor and reinforce my gutter with screws and brackets, then clean and seal it. When the technician arrived, I was told those items were not included--only partial work was done. There was a clear disconnect between what was promised and what was delivered. To make matters worse, due to an incorrect address, they initially worked on my neighbor's gutter. When I tried to resolve this before paying, the operations manager, Chris, was rude, talked over me, and oversimplified instead of properly explaining. He dismissed concerns and implied issues were the customer's fault for "listening to everything," rather than taking accountability. I'm disabled with multiple sclerosis .. my gutter started over flowing so I call them and was told it would be $95.00 to come clean them off.. after he told me they were guaranteed.. We had our shop installed with this product and later realized that one of the gutters had no down spout. The gutter just fills up with water then overflows. Contacted them to fix the problem. The first time a guy came out to fix it but he didn't have a down spout so he said he would get back with us. A few weeks later we called again. Same thing happened. Called a 3rd time. This time they brought out a sales rep to give a quote on our house. Telling us they will fix it when they install the house gutter. Why would I trust them with another job. They advertise there is a lifetime warranty on their product, but they refuse to fix an installation blunder. Customer service is nonexistent. They should spend less money on advertising and put it toward a customer service division. It seems apparent to me that they don't have anyone working there. Just high pressure sales staff. We paid over $8,000 to LeafFilter in June 2025 to clean our gutters and install their gutter protection system. The initial sales process was smooth and professional -- but everything after that has been a huge disappointment. The installation was sloppy, especially the fascia board replacement, which was visibly misaligned and poorly done. We called to report the issues, and a technician showed up unannounced. He agreed the work was unacceptable and promised someone would return to fix it. We never heard from them again. We stayed home for a scheduled repair appointment that was canceled without any notice. Multiple calls to customer service were disconnected before we could speak to anyone, and emails have gone unanswered. At this point, we've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Oregon Attorney General's Office, and the FTC. Had filters installed in January 2025. By October one side of front gutter began to force roof tiles upwards to the point it was noticeable from the street. Requested a warranty service call. The fix was worse than original problem. Called for a rework, but was informed because function was not affected, a service charge would result. I would have given a 10, but They ran out of black gutters so had to use brown in the back of the house. The feet of the down spouts were pictured as metal hinged and able to be lifter for mowing, but they installed plastic tube ones like you'd find in any garden department. I really didn't like being basically forced to sign a service contract before I could discuss it with my grandson. For a one story, simple install, it was very expensive. They did leave the whole work ares clean and took the mess with them. I did not get the leaf filter layer on top of the gutters because the leaves stick to the filter when it rains and then the rains just pour down over the stuck leaves all along the edge of the gutters. Absolutely horrible service. I've been trying to get our clogged gutter fixed since July 2022. It is now Nov 29, 2022. Many phone calls, several appointments where no one showed up, promises from customer service that someone will call. No one calls. Customer service "escalating to Regional Managers" and then the next customer service rep says there was no escalation. Everyone apologizes and says "this is not how we do business". YES, IT IS. I received the class action lawsuit info against leaffilter. I may sue them myself for a complete refund in small claims court. Do not consider leaffilter. It has been a miserable experience and I'm going to have to spend more money getting it removed before my home is water damaged. Take a look at my call history and your company's response Twig. On January 27, 2022, we had Leaf Filter install gutter guards on our house. The contract said that the installation would be "satisfaction guaranteed". Out of 6 items promised on the contract, only One was fulfilled. The work was Horrible. The filter was Pieced in sections all along the gutters. I also took pictures of the GAPS between the sections of Leaf Filter on the gutters. NO WAY is this gonna stop Leaves or Needles from getting inside...they will just flow in! I could see that the metal screen was Warped and I could put my index finger tip underneath between the screen and the plastic. One of the filters stopped 5 inches before the gutter end leaving it Wide open to leaves, needles, etc. The gutter was Not cleaned out. I took pictures of the Leaves, Needles etc in the gutters. The caulk was old, yellowed & cracked. This is only on one part of the Gutter we could see...God knows what the rest of the Gutters look like!! The Contractors, when cutting the leaf filter, snapped and ripped the pieces apart making it Jagged and cracked in Numerous places because the "Contractor" was cutting it with a Drill attachment on his Knee! The pieces were Rough and the metal bent. When it rains or we get any kind of wind (we get 75+ mph wind on the Coast) these Horribly installed, twisted, ripped and Cracked strips are gonna fly off the gutters, guaranteed! In the contract it said they would Caulk ALL the gutters and downspouts. These guys didnt even come with a caulk gun. They also dropped screws all through the yard and throughout our driveway. We picked up over a dozen. They were White Aluminum Hex screws. I took pictures of the Pile of screws we recovered in our yard and throughout our loose stone driveway. Will be sending them a bill if we get a Flat Tire in the next few days. I was SO freaked out...these guys were totally off the rails..they showed up in a mini-van and had NO long pieces of Filter..they used their excess from other jobs to "Patch" our gutters. I was So freaked that I called my bank today and stopped payment on the check. It was for $4,300. I called Leaf Filter and told them I do NOT want these 2 guys coming back to my house, and honestly, they looked like they were on something. They showed up from Portland in an old Dodge Caravan Mini Van..They both had severe dental issues & the "Gopher" guy was running around totally jacked up and was talking a mile a minute. This one was the one Ripping, Twisting and Cracking the Leaf Filter on his knee. They brought No sawhorses or table. The "Supervisor"...LOL..had to tell the "gopher" THREE times to RE-Cut the Filter since he had cut wrong Three Times! I was witnessing this, wondering WTH!! Only after they had left and my Husband came home did we decide to check out the work. He got out the ladder and we looked at the only gutter that was 8 ft high. The Leaf Filter was Jagged on the End, cut with a drill, Cracked, Warped and the Metal raised off the base! The edge was 5 inches AWAY from the end of the gutter!! And it was Piecemealed!! That's when we discovered that we had been thoroughly Ripped Off! That was what was Wrong with just ONE strip...we couldn't see what they did to the Second story Gutters. But them screwing up & leaving a Huge opening for us to look inside, & take Pictures, we were Not supposed to be able to see the Failure of their "work". I do not want these same "Contractors" coming back to my house. I can NOT find the guys names anywhere on the State of Oregon Business site. Im not sure they were even insured or bonded by the looks of it all. I have Every intention of paying when the work is done at least to SOME degree of Satisfaction. This is the Worst case of Contractor Fraud I have ever seen! AND WE GOT THE GUTTER PICS, INSIDE & OUTSIDE TO PROVE IT. This system was installed on my two story house this Spring 2021. Debris has already built up on the mesh filters causing water overflow in several places. Now I'm required to climb a ladder and clean off all the debris from this system. The whole point was to end the hassle of cleaning gutters and keep me off the dangerous ladder forever and that's what's in fact advertised. leaf filter installation was a FAILURE. had gushers pouring off of both metal valleys. called them out to fix it and was told that it was to be expected. WHAT? so i engineered a successful fix, which revealed the fact that a 90 degree inside corner seam on the gutter was improperly sealed and was still leaking profusely into my fascia boards and beyond. they came back and sealed the joint, and CHARGED ME to fix their improper installation. They charged an insane amount of money and the gutters were installed very poorly and the down spouts were crimped so tight it has caused a major issue. We are now in the process of spending thousands of dollars to fix resulted damage and fixing their poor workmanship. They should have noticed all of this during inspection. The company they sub contracted the installation to no longer will work for them. They communicate when taking your money but ghost you when there are problems. I thought I was done with anything to do with LeafFilter. However, their ubiquitous television advertisements are so egregiously far off from anything I've experienced with this product that I felt compelled to post this review. LeafFilter may work well for non-asphalt shingle, single level homes with clean, straight roof lines. If this doesn't fit the description of your roof, then forget about this product. LeafFilter does not work well for homes with asphalt shingles and hard, perpendicular roof corners-edges that create water flow streams to the gutters. The asphalt granules, too large to pass through the Leaf Filter mesh, buildup over time causing clogs in the screens. And no, unlike their promo commercials this debris doesn't just magically dry up and blow off the screens. I would consider a hard pass on this product for homeowners with asphalt shingle roofs. I've had to call LeafFilter for service at least twice a year, since installation, to unclog problem areas. That's twice the amount of service calls I could have had by just having professional cleaners come in and clean the original un-modified gutters. Their proposed "fix" for these problem areas is an un-sightly vertical flash-guard that doesn't really work. It just turns into another debris catcher compounding the pre-existing problem. Now onto the service side. I don't know what it has been like for anyone else who purchased this product, but I have never seen any of those clean shirted, professional "LeafFilter Technicians" showing up in a professional LeafFilter logoed service van. Third party contractors, in varying, ill-considered. all manner of dress and almost always ill-equipped, arrived to "solve" my repeat issues, in every single case, including installation. Post installation, two of the five arrived and left because they didn't have the ladders needed for my two-story house, in spite of my specifically telling the dispatchers the height of my roof line and the ladder type needed. In the last and most egregious instance. The "servicer" dispatched backed his truck into my driveway and used his truck bed to place his ladder because it wasn't tall enough, violating every OSHA standard along the way. He placed this unpadded ladder against the side of my house and damaged- stripped the paint even after my warning him not to do so. I had to loan him MY drill in his attempt to install those unsightly flash guards because he didn't bring one with him. I had him remove them after installation because they totally broke up the roof line and looked absolutely ridiculous. He confessed he had only been trained on the LeafFilter product only a week earlier and after I told him his solution was unacceptable. And no, the free lifetime follow-up service guarantee HAS NO VALUE if they DON'T FIX THE PROBLEMS associated with THEIR PRODUCT..... To this day I STILL have the same clogs in the same areas post LeafFilter installation. Lesson learned. They replaced gutters and installed their product and it did not work. It was installed over a year ago. I have called them to come back to fix the issues. They have been here over ten times. I still have two issues left to fix. It is causing rain water to continuously fall onto my walkway and never get over to the downspout. Despite many attempts, LeafFilter workers and management were unable to correct the problem. I called today and they said they would send someone out but it would be $95.00!!! I am really frustrated with the Portland service for Leaf Filter. I had an appointment this week set up Tues 6/8. Time frame 8a-noon. No one showed up. I called customer service who said she was putting a request into their local office. Great. She said someone would call today or tomorrow morning. "The higher ups at corporate do not want unhappy customers" perfect I will wait to hear back. No calls. I sent an email with videos of the downspout. I heard nothing back. I emailed AGAIN Thurs 6/10 in the evening sharing my disappointment. I received a call Friday morning and called back. Talked to a CSR who emailed the local office who also said I would hear back. As of now it is 2p and now one has called. I know I won't hear back from anyone. It is Friday and I will have to yet again wait for Leaf Filter to contact me. I have a downspout spewing water after their service they did in February. I have no idea if it is backed up but it sure would be nice if the local office contacted their customers they promise a LIFE time warranty. I should have known to go with someone else. Annoyed. This score is in regard to the performance of the installed product. The install was done several months ago but I didn't want to give a rating until we saw it work. All water flowed through the filter system. There was no overflow even during the heaviest rains. Lots of alder leaves in the roof were washed over the top and did no get stuck on the screen or block flow. The system is very expensive compared to other options but it works. read more

We got someone out to give us a quote and agreed to a price, though it was very expensive. Then we didn't hear from anyone for over ten days to get the service scheduled and had to be the ones to reach out. When we did get a day booked, they called during the time they were supposed to be at our house installing it to let us know they weren't going to make it and that they would come the following Monday. They didn't come til Tuesday. When the guy showed up, he quoted me 3 - 4 hours and insisted I had to be present when he was done to sign something. It took him almost 8 hours (I couldn't leave my house that day). He informed me that the reason it took so long was because some of his equipment broke and he didn't have a ladder tall enough, so he had to stack 2 by 4's under it to make it tall enough (very dangerous). Also, I glanced outside at one point to see him cutting a piece of the leaf filter with a saw USING HIS LEG AS A TABLE. What the heck!? As far as the quality of the product, time will tell. I strongly suggest that you do not work with the LeafFilter office based in Tualatin, OR. Very poor follow-through and horrible communication. The sales rep who came out was very nice and informative, but the installation team didn't complete the work that I contracted for. What I needed most was to have the Leaf filters installed on the highest gutters. 2 installers came and installed the filters on the lowest, easily accessible gutters, but they weren't told to install on the higher sections. After several calls, an installer showed up in a light rain and said it wasn't safe for a solo installer. This development required many more texts and calls with the promise of a site visit from the supervisor. He didn't get back to me. More calls, emails, texts ensued. The supervisor decided it wasn't safe for his team to install the filters on the highest gutters, despite the existing anchors that the roofers used for safety and left in place. So now I have an expensive gutter cover system on the lowest gutters that I can easily reach and no gutter covers where the filters are needed most. After 2 1/2 months of this frustration, I finally called the company headquarters. I was told that there were no notes about all of this in their computer and that they should be able to install the filters on a metal roof. I was promised a call back from the Tualatin office today. Nothing yet with just a couple of hours remaining. Very frustrating. Should've listened to the other reviewers that said that the company was not very responsive. If they respond and install the filters, I will still have to worry about whether or not they will follow-through with the promised yearly cleanings. i had a different brand of screen over my gutters for the last 3 years and i still needed to clean the screens as the fir needles stuck in the screen and damed up the filter. I have had these on for about a month and it rained a couple of times and i just looked out at the gutters and they are clean. Leaf Filter's install occurred a year or two before I purchased my home. We discovered that Leaf Filter screens weren't installed on some areas of our second-floor gutters. Since there is supposed to be some sort of warranty, we called, emailed pictures, and told our story. They responded fairly quickly sending out a two-man crew to "right" the problem. They were here for some time and I saw plenty of debris coming off the roof, and then was informed they'd taken care of the problem. I was impressed and thankful, ready to give them a good review for taking care of the earlier shoddy installation. So pleased, I tipped the installer $50. What a dufus I turned out to be. Later, while having debris blown off my roof, I was told they didn't install the missing screens after all. I just can't deal with them again. You have to have some level of trust and it's gone. The actual system, I am pleased with. We live amongst large fir trees and have to blow the needles off, however, we knew that would be an issue from the beginning. The system is expensive and it is not maintenance free, I still go on the roof, but I do not have to clean gutters. The reason for the two start review is the process I endured having my roof damaged on one of the many service calls for my system. My roof was damaged and ultimately a claim was filed through LeafFilter's insurance company who backed LeafFilter. The last part of the repair was adjusting and fixing the gutters and filter. In this process, they were on the roof on a very hot day, not using protection for the brand new shingles, and they damaged a large section of the roof. Instead or repairing it, they questioned my claim even though three of us stood in front of the house and watched the employee come off the roof, without proper shingle protection. LeafFilter management never contacted the other two witnesses, said there was not enough proof and essentially said I was lying. They offered to pay for 1/2 of the damage, which I declined out of principal. LeafFilter damaged my roof, paid to have my roof damage remedied, went back on my roof and damaged it again and denied doing it. Buyer beware. read more

Is there an option for ZERO STARS? The gutters lasted four months and then the gutter ripped completely in half, and the screens popped out. I called and sent photos via email and they sent someone out without equipment who then said he would let them know and someone else would come repair because he didn't have a gutter machine. That someone never showed so after a week I called again. It is now a month later and I have had four NO CALL NO SHOWS. The Wilsonville office is no help so i contacted the corporate office listed on the paperwork. The corporate office was even less help and less professional. The people answering the phones said they answer the calls and forward them, but don't work for the company. The installers do not work for Leaf Filter either. Someone showed up yesterday and explained that he was contracted to repair my gutter but it was over 35ft and Leaf Filter told him it wasn't. long story short, the sixth time now someone was scheduled by Leaf Filter they did show up but didn't have the right stuff for install - just like the first time they showed up to fix the torn gutter. The contractor that did show up said he has had his own gutter install business for 15yrs now. I asked his opinion on why this happened and he bent the metal brackets that were used during install easily with his hands. He said that the wrong brackets were used and showed me what should have been used. This tear happened on the front of our house, but the same junky brackets were used on the back of the house so I would imagine the back gutters will tear at some point also. I emailed the corporate office early yesterday and said I expected the gutter to be repaired (I went over all the times they flaked on me), and asked that someone call me to discuss this debacle. I told them I would contact the Better Business Bureau if I didn't get a call by the end of yesterday. Within five minutes I got a reply that they apologized and someone would call me. That didn't happen, so I stopped by Yelp before contacting the BBB. Be warned and do not use this company. As soon as you give them your money, they forget about you. We wished we had read these reviews before we signed up. Every issue in the one star reviews happened to us, including the screws scattered around our yard. They "installed" the guards when we were out of town and had not given them permission to be on our property. The install was so poorly done that we took pictures and sent them to our sales person. They said they would be right on it. The reinstall happened 6 weeks latter, after we had received two collection calls. The reinstall consisted of taking all the guards off and reinstalling them properly. We were told we could drop off the payment at their Tualatin office. When we arrived, no one was there. We put the check in the mail and now, two weeks later, they're telling us they haven't received the payment. We just hope the guards are good so we don't have to deal with this crew anymore. read more
