This space was previously a small Thai restaurant (and I'm sure it had multiple incarnations before that). From what I recall, the layout in the Thai restaurant seemed smaller. They appear to have opened up space so that the dining area is deeper now. There is a dining area up front with a few tables; this area has more natural light from windows. The dining area continues along one wall adjacent to the kitchen, and it is a bit darker there. The overall vibe is 'artsy', with art displayed on the wall (some for sale), creative names for menu items, etc. The shop would fit right in to a small college town. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. We got seated right away and were able to find items we wanted. The menu is not extensive, but it has a decent spread of items that should satisfy most people. I quite liked my BLT and the accompanying chips. The size was right and the bacon was well crisped. They also didn't try too hard with some odd bread or whatever. I like a place that just makes a straight-ahead BLT without trying to make it needlessly 'classy'. My wife liked her chicken salad sandwich okay. The side salad she got was good. Prices were reasonable. They seemed to have an adjoining property called Lune which may be their dinner incarnation. It seems like both restaurants are related and the menu implied that they did serve dinner, but maybe just at Lune (?). FWIW. I would consider returning here for another meal.

I love independent and privately owned coffee shops mostly because of their soulful personality and because they encompass the very heart of Americana where a quality establishment brings to town a sense of revered cultural identity, where the customer in turn supports the proprietor and employees alike, and together everyone in the community is better for it. Leaf and Bean does all of that and it does it well. Located on West Court Square, in the heart of Newnan, the interior immediately conveys a sense of comfort and invitation. It's been tastefully designed with a variety of tables and chairs carefully positioned throughout, soft wood textures accent the walls in contrast with original brick, some pretty cool wall art, a really interesting light fixture on the ceiling in the back that somehow helps tie it all in, plus it has the warm hard wood floors for added style. Even the counter veil/divider thing, for lack of a better descriptive term, that curves around towards the back of the shop offers a nod to it's previous roots in Newnan's history, I was told, when Johnson's hardware store was here. Often overlooked but critically important, the music is usually spot on for ambiance. Also, given the mild and warm climate, most days a person or group of friends can get their coffee and sit outside at one of the tables on the sidewalk and enjoy outdoor seating on the square - how cool is that? I can't attest to the food because I'm almost exclusively a Latte' and drip coffee drinker, but I have had several of the muffins and they are wonderful. The Coffee is delicious and get's an A+ by me. One gets the impression quite quickly that folks really enjoy working at Leaf and Bean and it shows with their smiles and friendly service and so if a person was keeping a score card, I'd say service ranks pretty high most days. Having been there probably 30 or 40 times over the past 3 months, I've found the establishment to be exceptionally clean and well managed. Leaf and Bean attracts a wide variety of folks from all ages and walks of life in the area with everyone from business people, to students form University of West Georgia, or from Newnan High and other Coweta schools, local artisans, merchants, to residents who live near by in single family homes, condos, or apartments, and those who drive in from HOA's at the edge of town in search of unique, welcoming atmosphere served up with the perfect latte', like myself. It's for everyone from lawyers and law enforcement from the court house across the street, folks passing by, you name it. Not to sound like a cliché' but it's Newnan's melting pot, it's hub and home for a variety of area socialites. And...and, as if that weren't enough, a person can come in later in the evening and get a martini or have a glass of wine. What's not to love about Leaf and Bean? Five Stars! read more

I travel to Newnan for meetings for work, and sometimes people will bring in food from here, so I thought I would try it out myself. I ordered both a specialty drink and lunch. The girls working there were very sweet and everything was brought out quickly, but then again it was also pretty much empty when I got there. Unfortunately my meal was pretty bland... You can tell that almost everything in there is store-bought and they just mark the price up. If I wanted to patronize a place like that, I would have just gone to Starbucks. And Starbucks would have probably been cheaper. After I finished my food, things only went from bad to worse when I saw all of the dead bugs near my table and on the window sill. Not to mention it didn't look like the trash cans or dish bin had ever been cleaned. And while I was sitting I heard the manager/owner loudly attacking one of the baristas who was apparently new. It didn't really fit the atmosphere I expected from a local coffee shop. I won't be back. read more

Let me tell you first that I really, REALLY wanted to like this place. My first visit I couldn't even get inside because it was closed - I was by during the early afternoon hours that it was advertised to be open and it was a good few weeks past their soft opening. The second time, I call ahead but there's no one answering the phone. So I cross my fingers and was estatic for a split second when I could open the front door... until I find that only the door was open, but the cafe really wasn't since they apparently were closed for a private event. I later found out they post closings on their Facebook page. So third times the charm right? Nope - even after I check their page to see no early closings, I arrive about quarter til 1pm on a Friday afternoon to find I made it "just in time" before closing at the hour. Okay, maybe my timing is really unlucky - so I suck it up (for the time being). I attempt to order a cookies & cream frappe that was featured on their site. Not available. I ask, what other frappes? None, say staff. I ask for decaf latte. Yep - actually just kidding, nope, decaf grounds take time to prepare (aka not worth their time I guess). So, really I am left with ice or hot coffee. Okay, at this point as much I want to storm out the cafe - I am reminded that one of the owners from the second visit offered a free drink coupon (at this point my Yelp brain is saying, okay this Is at least is a 3 star review). I think, let me just get a drink and get outta here. Bless her heart, the barista I've been going back and forth tells me she happened to brew decaf coffee earlier and could make iced coffee with it. I am thinking - what saving grace, that stuff I would actually order - great, let's do that. Here comes the finale - I had told the staff that I was going to redeem this drink coupon as I said yes to the decaf iced coffee. Clearly, that did not reach her. She tells me that she doesn't know how to undo the transaction and clearly, she is anxious as I am in a slightly different sense - I had insight from the earlier TMI when she told me she is almost late for her game at 1. Okay, as the slightly more adult person here I tell her alright, I will pay but I want the management to follow-up and issue me refund. Thank goodness I proposed this cause guess what, amongst all the tension everything was a-OK since I didn't pay. I guess she thought I did and was trying to tell me she couldn't process refunds. I tried to tie a bow on this as best as I could - I tipped the poor girl 20% and wished her luck on her game. I hope I made it clear that my built up frustration wasn't aimed at her, as I tried to explain in between our unnecessarily long interactions. Oh, did I tell you the staff are not masked in January when vaccines were still limited to healthcare staff? Not the staff nor her companion. Goodness - at least I was wearing one. TMI 2 - no wonder another staff contracted COVID-19. All I can say is - good luck at your own risk, future patrons.
