If you need to get work done, this place is pretty dead except for on weekends and maybe around lunchtime when it's more noisy. The wifi is free, and you don't need a password. I do like that this place uses some organic ingredients, but VERY few of the food items are actually made in house, and most of the items at the counter are pre-packaged. It's kinda overpriced (average $5 for a specialty drink), but keep in mind that you will be charged extra for things and not be told. The owner is also very rude, and when a guest has an issue, she gets defensive instead of trying to make things right. The only things worthwhile here are the baked oatmeal and the baristas! I'd suggest checking out Criss Bakery instead, if you like coffee/pastries and are looking for something local. read more

Green tea combo! Floated around here for a little while, and picked up what might have been every green tea item on their menu... It didn't really even make sense to. Geez, that tunnel vision. So. My glorious ginger & green tea muffin coupled with a green tea Arnold Palmer + raspberry syrup... sounded great at the time. The muffin was more ginger than tea, though rather obvious. However, it was an overly strong candied style ginger that really didn't mesh well with me. The Arnold Palmer was rather nice and probably didn't need that syrup, but the color was fun. Overall, meal gets a B+. Leaf & Bean is pretty adorable though. It's cozy and has a nice atmosphere. While I waited a band started setting up for the evening, and the walls seemed to be lined with local artists works. The shop is a little far out from my usual haunts, but I love that it's set up in what looks like a carbon copy of my home town.. now only if my hometown could keep a coffee shop alive that is as nice as Leaf & Bean. read more

This is without a doubt my favorite coffee place in all of Newnan. The service is always fast unless they are really busy. I love the atmosphere, the decor, just the entire being of leaf and bean! I normally get caramel macchiato, iced or hot. It's absolutely amazing! I've also purchased a bag of their dark roast coffee to take home, which was worth every cent. It is whole bean, so luckily i had a coffee grinder put up some where that i couldn't remember why i bought. Whether you're from out of town or a local, definitely visit Leaf and Bean! My new coffee spot in Newnan. They have a variety of flavors, and I'm allergic to milk so they had plenty of options and suggestions for me. My boyfriend and I also decided to eat a little breakfast. Portions are small but food comes out hot and delicious. We had the egg bowl and we able to personalize to problem. Definitely a coffee spot comparable to Starbucks-- minus the drive thru. Every small town needs a place like Leaf and Bean! I come into town fairly often from Atlanta to hang out with sown friends and I typically arrive before they get off work. Leaf and Bean is my go to for killing time and finishing up some work before dinner time. It has the ever needed casual coffee shop feel where locals traditionally meet but strangers are also welcome with open arms. Lots of tables with nearby outlets to plug in and work away. I haven't tried any of their food but the pastries are always very tempting. The coffee is wonderful and I'm glad Newnan has such a cute little place to chill or get work done. I will continue to come back week after week! I had a great cappuccino this week and last week just settled on a basic coffee but neither disappointed. read more

If you decide to stop in Newnan, not sure how I'm feeling right now. Let's just say customer service and wait time even when they were not busy was horrible. Stood and watched the young lady who instead of making the four shakes she had lined up in the counter she decides to rearrange the ice cream in the cooler. Then after making my first shake, that's right I said my first shake it was watered down. When I said something to her about it, she grabs the shake and blows and threw it in the trash. When she finished the second shake, she slides it to me and says he you go and walks off... No apologies for your long wait time or nothing... Wasn't impressed at all but I've only visited once. I spent $11 on two different specialty drinks that somehow BOTH tasted exactly the same - which wasn't good. When I order an iced caramel macchiato and an iced mocha I expect there to be a sweet, rich flavor. I also expect them to taste different. Instead, they both tasted like plain, unflavored, unsweetened iced coffee. Despite my less than stellar impression I'd be willing to try it again. Apparently this place existed for YEARS before I decided to try it out. Started working in downtown Newnan last year. After my first couple trips there, I thought "Why did I wait so long to come here?" For starters the coffee definitely tastes better than Starbucks. Smooth and not bitter at all. The young girls that work there are really friendly and make you feel welcome while they take your order and/or make your coffee. They even bring it out to you. One of the other things it really has going for it is the overall atmosphere and setup. Very cool downtown (almost urban) look and feel. The ANTI-Starbucks. My one criticism from a layout and experience standpoint is that they need a bigger menu for prepared-to-order food items. I only ordered a danish the first several times I went there bc I didn't know they did breakfast sandwiches. (It's a little laminated menu by the cash register, which I didn't even notice the first several times I was there.) Having a larger chalkboard or wall menu with those items would be great. I'd heard before I ever tried this place that the service wasn't that great, even rude. The first 6-7 times I went there, I found the complete opposite to be true ... with the young 20-something girls at least. But by my 8th visit, I saw what people meant. The middle aged woman (is she the owner, I don't know) could learn a thing or two about customer service from the younger girls. (That, or just let the young girls do their thing behind the counter and she can stay in the office or whatever.) I think the one advantage this place had over a Starbucks was the better hands-on service. Since I can make my own coffee. Now, I'll probably peek in to see who's working there before I go in, meaning I won't be patronizing nearly as much. I was spending $9 or more per visit there, sometimes going more than once a day. But that's definitely over. I think Leaf Bean is a great idea for a coffee shop, but not that unique overall, just unique to Newnan. All small towns or downtowns should have this concept of a coffee shop. But too few do. Too many Starbucks. Still, this one can be improved. Would probably get better with more competition. Not sure if that would ever happen though. read more

First let me start by saying my "apple cider" was heated up Motts apple juice that cost $6. The owner rushed my mom whenever she was asking questions about the drinks. Been coming here for several weeks now since relocating to Newnan around 2:00-4:00 for a coffee EVERY DAY choosing to do business with a local store vs Starbucks. I'm a disabled US Marine who has a service dog with me at all times. Imagine the attention you get every time you enter a business with a dog wearing a bright red vest! This time, (on a Saturday) I chose to not put on his vest so to avoid being ogled by the clientele and was told by the owner to not come back without his vest on! Really? She sees he and I every day and for the record, I'm an extremely loyal customer and will only shop eat or drink coffee where I'm welcomed. She made claims of the health department and other irrelevant information. If the health department came in I would have showed him my ID card indicating he is nationally registered as a service dog in accordance with the American Disability Act. She advised me that she doesn't want anyone to get the wrong idea that they are dog friendly! A water dish sits outside on the sidewalk, but you're not dog friendly! Hmmmm Anyway, should you choose to be in the square with your dog, do yourself a favor and don't stop at leaf and beans-she will ask you to leave! I guess for me, it's just another day, for leaf and beans though, I'll be finding another coffee shop to spend my money at from now on! Support your military veterans who fought for your freedom to be able to pick and choose another coffee shop! I was in GA last year visiting family and my mom needed to see a patient in this town. Since she would be occupied at the patient's house for a few hours, I searched Yelp for a coffee shop and found this place nearby. The downtown area is very cute and quaint. The coffee shop sits next door to a brewery. The interior of the business is very quaint, decorated with an antique feel, but doesn't look old. There were lots of tables and plentiful outlets for charging and free wifi. In addition to lots of coffee creations, there were plenty of pastries and baked goods in the case. I remember having a slice of quiche plus ordering baked goodies to go. Anything red velvet is an automatic yes in my book. The staff was friendly and personable. No one seemed to mind that I hung out for a few hours knitting and reading. If I lived in this area, I'd be there as often as I could. read more

A very cool place. Open space, comfortable furniture, local art and a very laid-back vibe. They prepare loose-leaf teas, coffees, pastries, breakfast and lunch. Whether or not the place is bustling, you can find a quiet corner to break out your Macbook and double-check your Instagram pics of the chai tea you're about to drink. My brother lives in the area and this is my second time down. We stopped here while exploring Newnan. I loved the coffee shop vibe it is very trendy and has a good amount of space. The barista was super friendly and helpful The coffee I had a white chocolate latte and I wasn't impressed mostly do to it being waaaay to sweet. I hate when I can't even taste the coffee in it. So I would ask for half sweet if you go if you want a better balance. I also ordered a Strawberry shortcake muffin which was really good the frosting was light not super thick and the muffin was very moist and tasted great. My wife had a sticky bun that was huge!! It tasted great the cream frosting on top reminded me of a Cinnabon. So all in all a decent place just remember to order half sweet if you actually like coffee!! read more

This is a family favorite of ours. It is our regular dessert stop after we go to Fabiano's for pizza. They have hand mixed shakes, plus the Swedish Nut Cake is a community favorite. The coffee is also really good. It would be my daily coffee stop if it was closer. The atmosphere is casual and serves as a showcase for local artists. The establishment is clean and offers a lot of food and drink options. The staff was pleasant. I ordered a pastry and a vanilla latte and was underwhelmed with the product. The food was ok but nothing to write home about...you could do better at a franchise donut factory like Dunca's. The coffee was mediocre and tasted burnt, not a good latte for sure. I was sad because I had heard quite a bit about this place, but now feel it is just hype for a downtown Newnan cafe.
