I love cafes and diners that aren't chains. This one sounded great so we stopped in for lunch on our way from South GA to Tennessee. When we walked in we were greeted by several friendly employees. We were seated right away and the hostess told us about the specials. One was very intriguing- it was called Figgly Wiggly. It was a grilled cheese with a bread with a well in it where they put fig jam then cheese and bacon. It was DELICIOUS!! I would definitely recommend. My mom and I split it and chose sweet potato fries as our side. We both agreed that the sandwich and fries were great!! My husband ordered the original burger with cheddar cheese instead of American cheese. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion. It looked and tasted delicious. The iced tea was fresh brewed and just right. The hostess was so friendly and she talked to us while we waited for the food, while there weren't customers coming in. They weren't busy when we first got there but were slammed when we left. The place is really cutely decorated and I wish we lived closer so we could enjoy breakfast, though you can get breakfast for lunch too. This is a real jewel of a place. Very creative menu with specials that are always changing. The hostess "Mom" is so charming and welcoming. Get there early, it fills up quickly. Dining area and restrooms are always clean. I eat frequently, so this review represents more than one visit. Today's choice was Figgly Wiggly, which was a grilled cheese with bacon and fig preserves. Hefty portions of quality food, just know it will cost. Spent $30 on coffee, potatoes, 2 eggs, bacon, and a country fried steak. I will admit, it was 2 meals worth of food, and it was high quality food. Just taking a star because $30 is a bit steep. Just stopped in on our way home and were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is very casual, comfortable, and relaxed--so you might expect the food to match that vibe, but it absolutely doesn't. The food was outstanding. My husband ordered the three eggs with hash browns, grits, corned beef hash, and coffee. The corned beef was absolutely superb. I had the cod sandwich and expected something pretty run-of-the-mill... but wow, was I wrong. The cod was thick, perfectly fried, on a perfect bun with crisp, fresh lettuce (and I'm picky about my lettuce!). I paired it with sweet potato fries, and they did not disappoint. My mother had the French toast breakfast with turkey bacon. She ate two pieces, and I grabbed one for a little "dessert" -- and it was hands down the best French toast I've ever had. We travel a lot and eat at all levels of restaurants, from casual to high-end, and this place truly stands out. It's absolutely a must-return spot. Our waitress, Sarah, was new (I think it was her first week on her own), and she was incredibly attentive, kind, and sweet. We loved her. Highly recommend -- we'll definitely be back. read more

It was packed in the restaurant, and I sat at the bar . The bar is a very painful place to sit due to the tin they have lining it where you place your knees . I ordered, then later noticed a very very small sign behind the register and egg up-charge . I refuse to eat at places that up-charge , but to late I ordered . Please just update the menu to reflect the correct prices already . I ordered my food and never got my coffee, but they were busy . When the food arrived the eggs were cold , but I could not get a hold of my busy waitress. The plating is very lackluster , huge plate for two tiny Benedict. Normally places put a green a salmon Benedict, like some capers . The bill was $21 for coffee, Benedict, and a side of grits . I tried to pay several times , but finally got my check after standing up at the end of the bar. Locals probably love it , but hearing have a blessed day 200 times while eating cold eggs , and being ignored by the waitress is not my cup of tea . read more

Unfortunately just had one of our worst restaurant experiences ever. We were seated by the hostess when we walked in. There were apparently other people waiting to be seated but we had no idea as there was nobody sitting outside. We were asked to get up and basically blamed for jumping the line by the hostess who had told us to sit down. A terribly embarrassing experience that made my pregnant wife cry as we walked out. This was one of our favorite places for breakfast so this is unfortunate to have to write. Not sure if we'll be back. read more

We had not tried this place before. They are apparently only open for breakfast + lunch Tuesday - Saturday. We stopped by on a Saturday around noon. They advertised breakfast all day, though we were interested in lunch. Parking is in a large shared lot for the plaza they occupy. It seemed like the parking lanes were a bit narrow, so we opted to park in a space on the perimeter of the lot, which worked out well. This appears to be a mostly family-run business and they were mostly very friendly. They greeted several parties by name, so they must have 'regulars' in addition to first-timers like us. They have some lawn chairs out front in case of a wait. Two of these were occupied when we arrived. You enter and are faced with a set of maybe 16 - 20 tables in front of a counter, behind which is the kitchen. There were maybe 4 chairs for dining at the counter also. I didn't see anyone near the door and they called to us from the counter ("Can we help you?"). We walked up to the counter and were told to go back to the door (where someone who had been busy elsewhere had now appeared). So - look to your right when you enter as there may be someone on station... They took our name and we waited less than 5 minutes out front. We were then seated and provided with menus. They definitely have more of a breakfast selection than a lunch selection. However, they do have 6+ sandwiches, several burgers, and salads to choose from. I got a Philly and my wife got a chicken sandwich. It took a little while to get the food (they were busy) but it was worth the wait. We both enjoyed the sandwiches. The sides (fries + salad) were also good. Prices were quite reasonable too. I suspect we'll be back. read more

Good food, great service, fair prices. Went here yesterday for lunch. Got there at 1, they close at 2. Waited about 20 minutes for a table (they only have seating for about 25 people). I had the Philly cheese steak and coleslaw. Wife had a Turkey burger and fries. She loved it. Fries were perfectly cooked (super crunchy). Coleslaw could use some raisins but that's just my preference. Philly needed some salt and the meat was okay but could be a bit higher quality. I have been reading how wonderful this new restaurant is, so we decided to give it a try. It is a small little spot, with some big flavors. Mom (that's what is on her name tag) meets you at the door and hands you your menu. She's friendly and welcoming which makes you feel comfortable immediately. The food is all made from scratch, and most of it is from local sources. Our meal was wonderful - the grits are creamy similar to Paula Dean grits. The pancakes were fluffy and the sausage had just the right amount of kick to it. The home fries are seasoned well. The portions are HUGE, so you may want to share. Breakfast is served until they close at 2:00. Be prepared to wait a few minutes if you aren't there early. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. The staff is great! Very nice and personable. The food came out very quickly! I had the French toast and my wife had a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with home fries. I also got a side of eggs and grits. The French toast was very good and it was served with a really tasty cinnamon butter. The grits were very flavorful and very good! Husband & wife owned restaurant. Friendly service and amazing food. My husband and I love breakfast so we were so excited to see that they serve it all day long.
