I love Knife and Stone. Consistently good food and good people who work there. I enjoy the atmosphere, the food has never disappointed.

This is our 3rd-4th time? Eating here. Last night's dinner felt overpriced and WAY salty. Brussels sprouts and asparagus were both over the top salty. Steaks were good but, just not sure 85 dollars for each dinner was worth it. It's really loud In there. I get it, small place but just seems like some diners thinks it's a dinner in their back yards. Having only 1 bathroom doesn't work for us. Great service as always, a good steak, but not the best I e ever had for cheaper price. My 2 cents. Because of my 2 drinks and an appetizer and tip it was a bit over 235 dollars. I guess us eating at home a lot put this in perspective. read more

We dined last night for our anniversary. It was fine but fell short of our expectations. The atmosphere is rustic and the restaurant is small. We liked the cozy, quiet atmosphere. We also thought the service was outstanding. The food fell a bit short. I had the pork loin. Good size portions but overcooked. There also wasn't any sauce or gravy which made it dry. My wife had the special and it was a combo steak and sausage plate. It was fine but a lot of salt. We'll give it another try in the future despite what we considered an off-night for the chef. read more

WAY to Noisy. We were a table of four and had trouble carrying on a conversation. They need some type of noise attenuation on the walls, floors and ceiling. Service was OK. Our waitress did the best she could but had to many tables to wait on. Need more staff. Two out of the four dishes we had were excellent. The other two were a lot like way overpriced hamburger helper. Named the Papperdelle special and it was described as a lamb and beef mixture with noodles. I really like the mushroom soup! The recipe is perfection, but the portion size was saddening. I ordered the soup & beet salad for my dinner. I left hungry, I know the portion size can be improved upon & challenge them to do better! Consider better bowls & filling ifor a real meal. This was our first visit to Knife and Stone. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also amazing. The team works together to make the experience wonderful for their guests. We had a party of 6 and everyone was extremely happy with their meals, drinks and the dessert was...well, the best bread pudding I've ever had! Pork loin, seared cod with scallops, mushroom soup (omg), we shared 3 appetizers...all impeccable! Seriously, the best meal I've had in the 4 years we have lived in Georgia! Read the reviews and had to try it! I think I was waiting for a sign to be hung on the building naming the restaurant before coming but, maybe the nameless thing is the new way! Made Rez for 6:15 arrived early, table was ready with menus and water. Sat down and our waiter came over shortly after we sat. We ordered drinks and a lobster roll! It was yummy! My drink was yummy too! Ok, here's where our dinner went off the wheels. Immediately upon being seated I look into the kitchen and see two men and a woman with long curly hair working in the kitchen without head covers. When I made a suggestion to our waiter he acted as if it was ok. Told him a law exists and they must wear hats, hairnets and or beard covers! When we looked again they were wearing hats and the girl put her hair up. Do they think their (clients) (tops)are idiots? We know safe food handling and these guys were breaking the cardinal rule for hair! Ok so now we are going to order. 36.00 filet? This better be top drawer for those prices! That said, I've paid more but also didn't have to question food preparation skills. Ok, outside the building they have a monster BBQ grill! Thinking let's get a hangar steak! Always a flavorful cut! I ordered mine rare, no more than 140 degrees and my wife, please make hers, well done. Waiter advised us it will be tough if "well done" so we changed it to medium well. Well done id how it came out and he was right--Tougher than shoe leather! First time I ever heard my wife complain! Mine was ordered rare and was medium. So disappointed! We were really hungry! Ok, we received a side of asparagus. Now these were winter asparagus which are very thick and often times stringy and tough. We did notice that the stalks had not been cleaned and actually still had dirt on the ends! We couldn't believe it! Now to cap off our steaks, they were sliced before we got them. Look, if you want to slice my $30.00 steak, don't! And if you do, call it an open face steak! Imagine ordering a 40.00 filet and they slice it before sending it out to ur table! So wrong on so many levels! The waiter was going to argue with us so I just told him to bring me the check. The girl from the kitchen came out and told us no charge! But wait, we had a drink, a tapa, coffee, water-we want to pay! She wouldn't hear of it-we left super disappointed! We do wanted to have a great bistro here in newnan! Unassuming small restaurant. A little gem in rural Georgia. Great atmosphere. Exposed brick walls remind me of Europe. Was invited for a birthday party. Cocktail was very nice. Not overly sweet. Food was amazing - especially the desserts we grabbed to go. We came late night on a weekend and it was SO LOUD. I was far too sober, I think. Service was pleasant and knowledgeable. I was not a fan of the location of the restrooms, but it's a small place. Very clean and would definitely recommend to anyone. Personally, being so noise sensitive, I'd like to try it a little earlier next time. Again, that's just me showing my sensory issues and if I'm being honest, age. Go try this one! read more

The Smoky Old Fashioned is the best I've had even with my travel for work. I only wish they had more tables. Cute, rustic spot in Newnan. Eclectic feel with the wood and steel tables, sliding wood door, deer heads and exposed brick. The server is super nice. She told us the plates are huge and gladly she did. We tried two tapas for appetizers: the pork belly and the avocados. They are both awesome. The pork belly had enough crispiness and fat. The sauce paired well with it. The Avocado had a little crispiness and the cheese and sauce was tasty. The sauce had a little kick which I really liked. For the entree, we opted for the meatloaf. They split it for us to share. The meatloaf was tender and definitely enough portion for two people. The sauce was a bit sweet which the server mentioned to us so we were prepared. The mashed potato had great consistecy. I especially liked the asparagus which had a little crispiness and salted well. I didn't order the asparagus but glad I got it because it's pretty good. The food was some of the best I've ever tasted. We did the Chef's table and the variety of our meals was so creative.

The food is to die for, atmosphere is elegant and the chef knows how to make you crave the food again it's pricey but the food is worth it exceptionally well service I was only gonna eat one night but I ended up having to go back the next night it's by reservation only. We were seated by the kitchen, something I would not recommend, but the service was good and so was everything we tried. If you are in the area I would highly recommend stopping by, it is as good as many places in atl without the painful drive if you are south of town. A little hard to find as their name is only on their doormats. We ordered the game is the night... Bison ribs, ceasars salad, fried avocado, chicken cordon blue, a lovely pinot gris from Oregon, Big Fire, i believe. The food was delicious. The chicken came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. We arrived and found a parking spot on the street a couple of doors down. There does not appear to be any real signage on the restaurant other than one reading 'Cafe'... We were seated promptly. The restaurant is not expansive, which I guess is why reservations are important. There was also an active bar area. We got drinks first and reviewed the menu. There was a small-plates page and a standard salads/apps/entrees page. We went with the entrees. They offered about 8 items plus a special or two. However, they were already out of my wife's first choice. We ended up getting filets. These were pretty good, but somewhat pricey. In fact this was one of the more expensive meals out we'd had lately (with the exception of a special occasion in Buckhead). I wanted to like this more than I did. read more

Impressive Newnan! Knife & Stone is a new contender on the square, but it seems like it's become a quick favorite. This gem features locally sourced bites, crafted cocktails & a romantic dim atmosphere. I visited with my friend who's predominantly vegetarian & I was pleasantly surprised to find choices that both of us were pleased with. We ordered the tempura avocado, white bean & bread, squash & spinach, and smoked butter popcorn. All of the tapas were great with squash & spinach being my favorite. It had a delicious flavor that you could never tell was from squash. The only thing that wasn't the best was the popcorn. Although it was extremely flavorful & a great pair with the old fashion, it was full of kernels & it really hurt both of our teeth which made us stop eating it. In addition to these tapas I ordered the basil strawberry cocktail & she ordered an old fashion. Mine wasn't too strong or too sweet which was perfect, seeing as we all have to drive home after. The old fashion's smoking process is beautiful & added depth to the drink. I was laughing when she tried it & exclaimed, "Oh, that's strong!" Turns out, she didn't know what an old fashion was! The atmosphere of Knife & Stone is unlike anything in Newnan, as far as I know. It'd be a great place for a date or having cocktails with friends. It is a bit pricer than most places in Newnan, but the experience is absolutely worth it.
