Nice, easy going breakfast place in suburbia. Pleasant staff, fast food delivery that was quite tasty. Try the "Country Benedict". I was not surprised that most of the negative reviews were from mostly women and one gay guy. The "surliness" of the staff is part of the charm, although I only saw a little. I have been here several times, but today was my last!!!! It was crowded, which I wasn't too surprised, we got seated in a short period of time., which was great. Our food came fast, which was great but my friends eggs were not cooked thoroughly. My main complaint is the waitress was extremely rude!! She TRIED to rush us out of there because they were busy. NEVER have I had that happen anywhere. As she handed us our check she let us know people were waiting, when my friend ask for more tea, she ask if that would be in a to-go cup, practically sending us out the door, at this time, we had only been seated 45 minutes. My girlfriends and I eat at LaPeep all the time. I love it, because I love eggs Benedict, and I can get them no matter which day I go in. Other places, it's only a Sunday option. I love the flavored coffees. Service is always great! I do not know what the people below are used to...five star? We have never been treated any way but great! I recommend it to anyone. read more

I was disappointed and wouldn't go back. I ordered Eggs Benedict Irish style with hash browns and got a disappointing Hollandaise sauce (chicken flavor) with canned corned beef hash and frozen hash browns. My wife's potatoes were frozen. My daughter's pancakes were slightly undercooked. The service was good and atmosphere ok but for the money I expected much more. read more

I just moved back to town after a few years away and invited my mother her. It was a train-wreck. The only upside was being seated quickly, but after our visit, I can see why. Our server was very rude during the whole meal. The food portions and quality have suffered tremendously. I ordered a short stack of whole grain pancakes and received a short stalk that looked and tasted exactly like their original recipe. Curious if I had the correct order, my waitress decided to just take it off my bill instead of double checking with the cook. After being all but pushed out the door, I vented to the cashier about the service and she just smirked and told us to not leave a tip. Le Peep has gone to the wayside. read more

Went there with the family for breakfast. My son-in-law picked up the top piece of toast on his plate and noticed the bottom piece had a bite out of the corner. When he told the waitress, she seemed to act like she didn't understand. When we told the man and woman running the cash register, they denied it happened. Our guess is someone else's plate went back to the kitchen and the toast was taken off the plate and put on one of our plates. Someone in the back didn't realize a bite had been taken out of the bottom piece. Bad enough to have recycled food served to you; made even worse when treated like you've made the whole thing up. read more

Be careful - they automatically add a 18% tip on the bill if you have 6 or more people and then scratch out the bottom so you don't notice and end up double tipping. Nasty blond waitress. Never going back. read more

I have been here several times and it has always been ok. Food usually comes out fast and service ok as well. There are times I have seen people waiting to get seated and I have waited as too. Usually no more than 15 minutes or if looks like it will be longer I just go somewhere else. Today I got there and 9:55 and didn't look at a menu because I always order the same thing and know what I want. They brought my coffee and within 5 or 6 minutes my food came. I had just finished eating and was reading the paper and hadn't even finished my first cup of coffee and a male/manager? came to my table and asked " If there was anything else I needed, because they really need a table with people waiting to be seated". I walked up to pay and there were 4 people waiting who had not even been there for more than a few minutes. I looked at my watch and it was 10:14. I mentioned that I didn't even get one cup of coffee drank to the dark haired lady at the register and she agreed that was rude and offered to pay for breakfast. I didn't want a free breakfast and that was not my intention of complaining. I will gladly give up my seat and I am sure others will too that he has asked to leave because they have people waiting. I could see if there was a long line, but really 4 people waiting and there were a couple other table clearing out when I got up. Maybe he told them the same thing. I read where several people have had terrible service and felt rushed to leave. If this is the manager, I guess he has trained them well. I will never go back!!! read more

I rated this 3 stars mainly because the food is awesome, but I was extremely upset last time I went there. I ordered eggs Benedict, and asked for the poached eggs to be medium so that they were not too gooey because I don't like the yolk texture. My eggs came out fried and over-easy. I figured maybe the server was new, and politely asked for some new eggs, and the second order came out exactly the same. The third time I told her I still wanted poached eggs, just cooked a little bit longer, just to clarify... again. When our server went back and told the cook again, he literally screamed "are they drunk or just stupid?!" At that point I wanted to speak with the manager and/or walk out of the establishment. Another server was very kind and came up and apologized to us, and explained that the manager was having a word with the cook about his outburst. I've had good and bad experiences there with the service, but always come back because the food is delicious. Good place to go for brunch. Just be prepared to have fluctuating service quality. read more

My husband and I have visited this place before...sometimes just us two, but other times with our grandchildren or friends. We noticed the service at times would be slow, but tolerable. Today, I took a college student there who was home from break and we experienced the RUDEST service ever in Springfield. I just read several reviews of the same exact "rushing" you out the door stuff so I can only conclude it's the culture of the owners and/or managers of this restaurant. Besides the rude guy with the blue shirt on, there was one older server lady with a short skirt on who was also trying to harass us with her words. I guess they called themselves tag teaming us. Wrong person lady!!! Next time stop competing with the young girls and cover up a lot more...nobody wants to see all that!! There are plenty other local places to go to if you are a visitor or just a local looking for good food with good service. Try Peases at the Gables, Cafe Moxo or Incredibly Delicious. Needless to say this place lost my business and probably that of others whom I'll share my experience with. I use to blow off reviews thinking it's just a demanding customer trying to get their way, but there are tooooo many commonalities for this not to be true of this place.
