The line outside Angelina's was so long! So many people waiting to dine at this establishment. I…read moredid not have the time to wait for a table to dine in so I went and got some take outs. I bought a cup of hot chocolate, a croissant and a box of macarons. The hot chocolate tasted very decadent. It was sweet and rich with a strong chocolate taste. Thick and delicious. The croissant was also good. Very flaky. The macrons come in many flavors. I picked eight different flavors to try. They were all delicious. I would love to come back another time to dine in and try more of their offerings.

When you come to Paris, you just have to visit Angelina--it's quintessential Parisian indulgence…read moreand exactly what you come here for! We stopped by the flagship Rue de Rivoli location right by Place de la Concorde for breakfast. We arrived right around 9:30 AM and walked straight in with zero wait. Talk about great timing, by the time we sat down and looked outside, a huge line had already wrapped down the sidewalk. The decor is beautiful and timeless, pure classic French elegance with the chandeliers, mirrors, and gilded details. We were seated upstairs on the second floor, which gave us a lovely, relaxed vantage point away from the entrance rush. We ordered their breakfast set, which came loaded with two flaky croissants, fresh baguette with butter and jams, two eggs Benedict, fresh juice, and, of course, their legendary chocolat chaud africain. That hot chocolate is as thick, rich, and velvety as advertised, almost like drinking liquid ganache. We also couldn't leave without ordering their famous chestnut Mont-Blanc pastry, which was silky, sweet, and totally lived up to the hype. Even though the dining room filled up quickly and was bustling, the staff was attentive, polished, and very efficient. Loved the entire experience from start to finish, an absolute treat!

As someone who is obsessed with almond croissants, I'm glad we happened upon this place while…read morewalking around. I've never had a version with whole almond pieces instead of slivers and honestly, I felt like I was living my best pastry life. LOL! We ate at the table outside and I felt like I was whimsicalling the heck out of the moment. I'm eating an almond croissant in Paris! I mean, what the heck is happening? LOL! The service is friendly.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ Notre Dame Granny Smith Apple Confit - Was refreshing! I couldn't tell if this was a real apple or some fancy French creation made to look like one - that's how real it looked! The mousse and apple bits were cold & delicious and the chocolate shell was good, but not sure if it was worth the price at €7.5. + Pain Au Chocolat Cookie - Verrrry good chocolate chip cookie, chocolate croissant mashup. Only thing that we were missing was some good ol' milk! + Almond Croissant - Once again, delicious! Solid croissant and definitely a good grab and go candidate. = Citronnade - Was just OK. Lemonade that was on the watered down side, but was somewhat refreshing because I was dying of thirst. THE SERVICE ----------------------- - Employee who helped us with our order was friendly, but the cashier was a bit blah and not exactly the friendliest person, especially when we asked for extra utensils and napkins. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ - Smallish, tight interior that you can dine in at, but don't be surprised if the next table is sitting on top of you. + There are also 5 outdoor tables on the narrow street. - Entrance is tight too. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- + Even though this bakery is ranked highly on Tripadvisor, there was no crowd on the Monday morning that we swung by. Line moved superfast.
