Fabulous hostel in an amazing location! Walk to the Metro in a couple minutes. Grocery stores stocked with Organic options (bio, they call it here) and bakeries pepper the neighborhood, and Le Montclair has a full-on self-serve kitchen, so you can eat super healthy organic for cheapo. The rates here are the best in town, amazingly. It's so close to all the action, yet thankfully just out of it on a quiet safe street, in the beautiful foothills of the Basilica.
The adorable woman who checked me in was always amazing, super sweet, ultra professional and totally on it at all times. All the staff, in fact, were wonderful, super helpful, knowledgeable, upbeat, friendly, and kind. The type of folks you want to hang out with, a joy to be around. Superb English spoken here by the receptionists.
There's a luggage room and also free lockers, the place is open 24/7, the public kitchen is well stocked, the Wi-Fi is excellent no matter what floor you are on, there is a petite laundry room with iron and board, bathrooms down the hall in case yours is occupied! The cleaning crew does a fabulous meticulous job daily!
The beds are comfy and the linens are spotless. Windows open and some rooms have little balconies with epic views of the Basilica. I personally love the winding wooden European staircase and left a healthier person from climbing them, as I was on the 5th floor ;)
I came for a couple days and came back again and then again, because Le Montclair is really just that fabulous. I honestly stayed in Paris twice as long as planned in fact, largely because of the bargain of this hostel, both in rates and the kitchen option, which saved me big money.
I Love this place, can you tell?
And I vote this the best hostel ever, and I should know, I've stayed in dozens and also helped build the Green Tortoise hostel in San Francisco, then spent over 20 years driving their funky buses steering international travels to it, I'm a vet in the industry and believe me when I say: look no further, Le Montclair is doing every single thing right.
Thank you!
(*my only critical observations would be: some of the room door mechanisms require a loud slam to close, and the web page on my android was wonky; minor stuff indeed.)
