This is a hostel, not a hotel, so the rooms are quite tiny- which is totally fine for the price. The shower is equally small, so watch your elbows. I accidentally hit the temperature switch while washing my hair and got a little burnt. Could have been worse though. What they don't tell you is that there is a sports bar on the first floor with nightly live music, so expect some noise. The higher floors don't hear it as much, so that's a benefit of being upstairs. We had a rash of loud screaming Italian preteens on our floor but one word to front desk and it stopped cold. Truly top notch security, have to badge in through many doors and elevator, plus security personnel at the entrance. Decent breakfast which is free depending on room price and how you book. read more

This location of St. Christopher's hostel is across the street from Gare du Nord, the largest train station in Europe. The location couldn't be more ideal. Though you need to be aware of pickpockets. They are rampant and relentless. Stay vigilant. St. Christopher's is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. It's clean, they've updated the decor recently making it inviting, the rooms are spacious. The Hostel's overall security level is excellent. They provide fans for every room which was essential during this summer's heat-mageddon, AKA canicule extrême. If you forget to bring something they probably have it. Seriously. They have a vending machine filled with items you may not have realized you even needed. If you don't feel like heading out in search of food, you can stay in. They have a huge restaurant and bar with excellent food. At night, the bar turns into a nightclub with loud music and dancing. The one negative is that the loud music from the bar can be heard in the guest rooms of the upper floors. So if you don't have earplugs or noise-canceling earphones, you need to consider getting them. The hostel sells earplugs. Of course , they do! Even though the bar is loud at night, this hostel is so good, they get to retain the star I'd knock of usually. read more

For a hostel, this place was very nice. The beds, blankets, towels, and linens were good quality, and the bathrooms were clean and modern. I stayed in a 'private single ensuite', which actually got me a double size bed and a tiny, tiny bathroom, but all to myself! I would have preferred a single-size bed because there was very little room remaining. The bathroom shower stall was so small that the curtain easily flopped against me as I showered. That said, it was divine having my own bathroom at hostel prices! I also liked that the room have a lot of hooks on which to hang things. That compensated for the nearly non-existent cabinetry, closet, and shelf space. Also no desk or chair in my room. This sounds like I'm complaining, but again, for a hostel, this place was great! The staff is friendly and speak English well. They seem to speak a lot of other languages also. I had an issue where the heater was broken (it was 25ºF/-4ºC at night), but they gave me an extra blanket and the heat bleeding in from neighboring rooms was enough to keep it only slightly chilly, and then technician paid a visit the next day or two. Unfortunately, it wasn't easily repairable, so they had to leave it broken, but they turned it on to full heat. It was broken in that I couldn't adjust the heat level. So, playing around with the window opening to modulate the temperature was a bit of a hassle, but I do appreciate the staff's responsiveness. They even gave me a voucher for a free hot breakfast. By the way, this seemed to be a rare thing, as I don't think other rooms had issues with their heaters. There's a bar on the first floor called Belushi's, which had some pretty good food and a decent vibe to it. Sometimes a bit more of party vibe late night than I personally prefer, but could be very fun if you're into that sort of thing. The free breakfast in the morning is standard hostel fare; I like that I didn't have to clean my own bowls/utensils. They had slices of ham, cheese, pieces of bread, some cereal, yogurt, etc. Also, there's a hot breakfast option you can order at the bar that's rather sumptuous, for not that much cost. So if you're craving eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc., ask for a menu! Hot breakfast stops at 12:00. The area is both good and bad. It's bad in that it feels somewhat seedy and there aren't that many good restaurant options around. There's a security guard at the entrance to Belushi's and the hostel, which helps our security, but it shows how dangerous the area is that a security guard is even necessary. It's good in that it's less than a city block from Gare du Nord, with all those Metro/RER lines, and international rail. It's also sort-of walking distance (or short metro rides) to Le Marais and Montmartre, two of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris, and easy walking distance to Canal St. Martin. All in all, this is a great hostel that's well-located, and I would definitely consider coming back here again! read more

The website I booked through said check in was all day, I arrived and they said it wasn't until 3pm. I went to the lockers to drop off my things since I had tickets for something at 2:30. One half of the lockers were out of service and the other half was full. In order to make my time slot I had to leave my bags in a corner of the locker (with several other peoples things who were in the same situation). Not to mention the locker only takes Euro coins (not bills), something you're not likely to have when just arriving. There was no hot water when I showered the first night- it was ice cold. They have live music on Friday evenings which is audible from the rooms, not great while trying to nap before going out. I got up at 7am the day I was leaving to make sure I could get a locker before they filled up, went down to drop my stuff off... and somehow the lockers were already full. A bit suspicious- I wonder if any of them actually work at all. I once again had to leave my bags in a corner and pray nothing happened to them. I overall spent a lot of my time in Paris worried about my bags because they had no way available for me to secure them and I wouldn't be able to explore with them on me. The least comfortable hostel I stayed at during my travels. Although the facilities were designed well, it doesn't seem like they maintain anything. - Elevators don't work properly, many people complained about elevator not going to their floors. Same thing happened to me. Ended up having to lug my bags up the stairs - Music from bar downstairs plays loudly until very late at night, past 12 am. I'm all for fun bars and music, but not when it's preventing me from falling asleep on the 4th floor and I have to wake up early the next morning - Getting any question answered requires waiting in a 20-30 minute line at the front desk - Bathrooms were kind of dirty The only reason to stay here would be if you want to stay next to a train station. read more

I just returned from my very first solo trip and although I was initially very nervous traveling alone, staying at this hostel was the best decision I could have made to ensure that I would have a good time. I stayed for six nights in an 8-person co-ed dorm and my room and bed were extremely clean and comfortable. There are curtains you can draw over your bed for privacy, as well as storage below the beds you can use to lock up your possessions if you bring a padlock. The downstairs bar Belushi's is a great way to meet other solo travelers. They have great deals for guests staying at the hostel, including 7 euros for two beers and 1 euro select shots. Music gets a bit loud at night, but I met so many great people my very first night there. Although the atmosphere here is a lot of fun, the real stars of the show here are the front-desk staff, especially Frédérique and Chaneequa. These two girls were the highlight of my trip. Not only were they extremely friendly, but they went above and beyond to really make sure my stay at St. Christopher's Inn was pleasant. They had the best recommendations for places to eat and go out and were also were constantly checking up on me to ensure that I was safe and having a good time. read more

I had a fantastic stay. Clara who which works the front desk helped me pay my city tax as i was indebted to my AMEX card upon my arrival to Paris, I had a limited supply of Euro's and they accommodated me well during my stay before i left to Italy and both after. Ivan is a great supervisor as well. I found that if i needed any kind of great accommodations the person to go to was Elli, the head manager, or so it seemed she knew what she was doing more than anyone else ha and could handle anything with ease. I met a lot of people here from all over the world, had lunch with a couple of them and enjoyed the bunk beds as well as i didn't think upon my arrival that i would enjoy that sort of thing i then realized i would only meet some great people here. This trip to Paris has been absolutely amazing, and a big reason why is this hostel. You won't regret staying here. It is set up very well for people traveling alone to meet others. The receptionists are all extremely helpful and friendly, specifically Ivan, Laura, Emma and Verena. They'll go out of their way to help you with anything you need even when things get very busy for them. They also speak like 5 different languages and have good suggestions for things to do in the city. I went on a FREE tour through the hostel and got FREE breakfast every morning. The bar is also a very good time with great music and stays open almost all night, but I wouldn't say noise is a huge problem if you want to sleep. What an awful awful experience. I don't even know where to begin! Let's start with the bartenders at Belushi's, i know your job is really hard serving overpriced drinks to happy tourists but the attitude is really unnecessary. Secondly our dorm. We've slept in many a hostel and never had such a bad experience. The elderly gentleman in the corner spent all night moaning in his sleep as well as coughing up a lung. The couple who woke up at 4 am to unpack and repack their entire luggage for an hour and not pay any mind to the other guests. The boogers on the wall next to your face. The endless amount of mosquitos. The people who just walk in and leave the lights on at 2 am. The man coughing up a lung in the common dining area too! Everyone seemed sick and under the weather and it was just disgusting g. No one here has any common decency for their room mates, the common decency you'll find at most any hostel across the world. I cannot tell you enough how bad this place was. Never stay here. read more

Located in an interesting historic building, this hostel is up-to-date and very clean; a very substantial breakfast is included. It is certainly pitched at twenty somethings (I am not, but was reasonably comfortable). But be warned: whoever designed the retrofit was ignorant of ventilation requirements: the eight-bed dorm rooms have windows that only open six inches; the bathrooms have no apparent ventilation at all. In hot weather it becomes pretty uncomfortable. Which is a shame. read more

The nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Comfy bed with a privacy curtain. Comforters and pillows that made me feel right at home. Wifi fast and reliable. Bar with entertainment and great tenders! And most importantly, staff that put their lives on the line to keep us safe! Once we got word of the terrorists attacks just blocks away, we were urged to stay inside. Security stayed outside, in harms way, monitoring who came in and out. Workers who weren't even scheduled to come in were behind the desk answering calls and questions. I even had a chance to speak to and thank the general manager. They don't even know how much they eased our worried minds! Through the 5 days I stayed at St. Christopher's inn, the one employee that really stood out to me was Alexandre. Even asking him about a million questions, he never made us feel like we were a bother. He even googled things, called a bar, and gave us tips. He was so helpful! I really appreciated it! Okay so we can all agree that this hostel is in a great location and pretty secure. That's four stars right there. What pushed it to five, though, were the smart considerations you can find sprinkled all over St. Christopher's: Travel-size hair care products and more for sale at the front desk; towels for rent; somewhat sound-proof flooring in the hallways; electrical outlets galore; USB charging outlets next to your bed in case you forgot your outlet converter; various organized trips, tours, and excursions; cheerful staff; solid Wi-Fi; etc. I've stayed at the St. Christopher's in Amsterdam, too, and I have to say that this group of hostels is a wonderfully well-oiled machine. The cherry on top is that if you drunkenly lose the key to the padlock on the locker under your bed after a long night out in Bastille (it happens to the best of us), they have a massive bolt cutter at the front desk they'll let you borrow for free so you can cut that m**********r open. We stayed at this hostels last summer, and it was by far the best hostel we stayed at. My boyfriend and I were doing our first backpacking trip in Europe and stayed two nights in Paris. We booked the private room with the private bath. Everything was so clean I felt like I was in my This hostel was unlike any hostel we've stayed in through out our trip. Everything was new and clean. The staff was young and friendly, offered us advice on the most cost savings way to the next city. There is a bar/restaurant on the first floor that is alive and welcoming to all ages. The main thing I rate hostels on is cleanliness and this one met my standards. The staff cleans about 3 times a day. They give all clean white sheets, duvets, and pillows when they change the bed for a new sleeper. My sister and I stayed in an 8 bed mixed room. We were the only girls in the room. There was a small sink for you to do a quick brush or touch up. The room was extremely spacious with nice lament floors. There was a slight musty smell because the ventilation wasn't amazing, but other than that best hostel I've been in so far. They provide a locker under your bunk. Pretty spacious. Could fit an extra large suitcase underneath. The community bathrooms were always clean. There wasn't a huge line of people using the bathrooms. Water pressure was ok, but nice temperature on the water. The stall size are to be expected from a european standpoint. It won't fit 2 people in one stall, or an extremley large person. The welcome staff at the desk were really nice. They were able point in the right direction and helped explain how to get train tickets. They also have free breakfast at their Hard Rock Cafe-style bar/restaurant. Typical bread, juice, jams, and butter. Overall, I'd come here again. It's extremely clean and the security is legit. 2 stars because of the kind staff. 0 for the disorganization. I came to Paris for a 3-night stay in December, before Christmastime. There was someone in my assigned room and I was unable to stay. The staff accommodated by moving me to another room and letting me keep my belongings in a locker for free and a provided a free beer. Issue? The room was fully booked for the next day, so I had to move yet again to another room. An employee opened the door around 6am while I was awake (doing work on my laptop), made eye contact with me, then proceeded to close the door without stating why she entered. I assumed it was a routine checkup or something of the sort. When I got out of bed, there was a letter taped to my bed stating that I needed to leave the room promptly to prepare for new guests. While I was showering, someone came in to change the linens, but I didnt hear her enter, so she gave me a fright. It's not her fault though. The kind woman probably thought the room was unoccupied. I left the room before 11:00am and had no room to stay in until 3:00pm when I got my new assignment (same as the day before). When I checked the new room later in the evening, my bed was yet again occupied. The queue to even speak to someone about this was 30 minutes. I stayed here one night. This hostel has great location, just a block from Gare du Nord metro station. This place underwent a multimillion euro renovation. It shows, I think 590 bed hostel. The place looks spruced up and is super huge. The proximity card entries are really nice vs a swipe cards. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. They answered every question with a pleasant demeanor. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was huge. They had a sink in the room, but the toilets/showers were outside (thank god). The bed is like your own pod. Blackout curtains on each bed give privacy. Each bed is equipped with its own personal reading light, 2 electrical outlets and 2 USB outlets. Pretty nifty. There are locker stage under the beds (you provide the lock, they sell locks for €4 btw). The bed and pillows itself was comfy, the sheets were spotless and clean. The toilet and showering space was clean when I used them. No complaints there. Bring your own toiletries, obviously. They have a huge bar in the center as you approach the hostel. The reception is to the right and the chilled out entertainment space with couches and foosball is to the left. And when I say bar, it's a legit huge, proper bar and grill. Tv's everywhere, pool tables, really a nice bar. I missed (overslept) the free breakfast everyone else here raves about, but on a weekday rate (€18 for an 8 bed dorm) with free breakfast of that caliber is nice! It's a hostel. It was very hostel like and got the job done. Located a block from the train in what I later discovered was a sketch part of Paris, it is loud. There is a bar attached and they are not quiet at all. Rooms were very clean and comfy if you are average height. As a tall person, it was very cramped and I slept but not like a baby. Each bunk has a lot of outlets and there is an elevator that maybe three people can fit into with suitcases if everyone agrees to not breathe. If you forgot something, they will let you rent it for a huge up-charge so don't forget to bring a towel. read more

I know this is a hostel, but it was by far the worst one I have ever stayed at. I arrived and checked it, it was a little early so I had to pay for a locker, except it was cash only and the closest atm was at the train station. Oh abd the lockers are downstairs with no elevator access. I liked that they gave you a key that automatically turns on at the check in time. I was pleasantly surprised to find a towel on my bed, but it was an en-suite so I guess you get one for that. I wasnt expecting a towel based on other peoples comment The room was kinda stuffy mid afternoon but they had fans and it seemed manageable. I only stayed in the room for less than an hour before I went out for the night. When I got back it was kinda stuffy again and I turned on the fan, but it was too loud to have on while sleeping. But not that i really did much sleeping cause the music from the bar downstairs was loud. I had read this in others reviews, but didnt realize how loud it really was. And I was on the top (6th) floor. Anyway I got back to the room and tried to sleep but couldnt, despite being incredibly tired from walking around the city all day. Then, just when I fall asleep a roommate comes in. It was not a restful night of sleep at all. One roommate got up very loudly and walked over to the mirror and made a bunch of noise over by where the mirror was. I think he was drunk and looking for the bathroom cause he left out of the main door and came back 5 min later. I only realized the next morning that he removed the mirror from the wall. I had paid for the next night but decided to stay someplace else and a good night sleep was well worth it. Pros: Privacy curtains Towel for ensuite locker bins under the bed Cons: LOUD, I mean LOUD music until 2am (if you know me you know I like a good party, but this was loud on the 6th floor) Drunken roommates that woke up in the middle of the night and made a lot of noise. No Air Conditioning - stuffy in the room even though it wasnt that hot out. Beds are uncomfortable Neighborhood - I grew up in a bad neighborhood so it didnt really bother me, except I didnt feel like I wanted to go eat at any of the nearby places. Location is pretty important when it comes to picking a place to stay, and St. Christopher's Gare du Nord can't be beat. It is literally right around the corner from the Gare du Nord (3 min walk), which makes catching trains to/from CDG Airport, the TGV, as well as subways to anywhere in Paris a snap. Also across the street is a pharmacy (where I bought contact lens solution) as well as a grocery store (Carrefour). The bar on the ground floor (Belushi's) is alright, but then again, it's right downstairs. There are automated lockers in the basement that let you come/go multiple times during your rental (so you don't have to pay again if you open your locker). In general, the hostel is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is helpful. The facilities are up-to-date, and the beds all have chargers, USB ports, and reading lights in the headboards. For the price (about 30 Euro/night), I don't think you could do much better in Paris. Compared to the other St. Christopher's in Paris (on Rue Crimee), I would say this one is slightly less vibey, but it is closer to the train station. One thing: On the first night our AC unit broke so it got very hot and uncomfortable in the dorm. It was fixed by the second night, but apparently this is not a rare occurrence. No AC = a bad time in the rooms, since the windows don't open. One tip: don't buy the pre-paid hot breakfast when you reserve, since buying hot breakfast on the spot is actually cheaper. Also, the hostel serves a free continental (cold) breakfast which is actually not bad. read more

I stayed here for 3 days/2 nights and would overall say I had a great experience. I would recommend this place for anyone or groups staying in Paris for a short-time (longer visits may result in hefty costs, I'd recommend looking into apartment rentals instead). Ok so first off there is no A/C in any of the rooms. We were there for almost 5 days and it was hot as hell in Paris. If that's a deal breaker for you then stear clear. Other than that the food is gross and the continental breakfast is even nastier. There is a bakery right across the street, that's amazing- go there you eat. The rooms are very clean and they have cleaning attendees that come daily. The people that work for hostel are super nice.. Overall would i go back, hell no..but it's cheap and clean. We had a good experience with the hostel, a few minor things. It was challenging to find a clean shower and bathroom at the community bathrooms. Also, don't count on the laundry rooms, tends to have a lot of issues. Remember to bring your own towels, it was €10 for a towel rental, kinda steep. Other then that, bunk beds were clean and comfortable with great charging stations. Literally a 3 minute walk from Gare Du Nord which makes traveling and using the subway system really simple. MY FAVORITE HOSTEL I'VE STAYED AT EVER. There's free breakfast (!!!) and it's all-you-can-eat with all sorts of cereal, granola, muesli, yogurt, baguettes, cheese, ham, nutella, jams, etc. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was nice that each bed also had its own outlets and lamps as well as curtains. There's a bar right next door/connected to the hostel that makes it easy to drop your stuff off after traveling and letting loose. It's also in a pretty convenient location seeing as it's right next to Gare du Nord. Docking a star though because it was really hard to find. Rue de Dunkerque is a pretty big street but the block this hostel is on looks like a side street. I actually ended up walking all the way to the end of Dunkerque in the wrong direction. If I hadn't happened to physically run into my friends on the street, I probably would have walked around crying for a bit before asking someone for directions. read more

Warning! If you need to sleep do not stay at this hostel. Stayed here recently Thursday night and Friday night. The rap and dance music in the center courtyard went till 2 AM Thursday night and 4 AM Friday night very loud and obnoxious. If I ever hear the song "Hey Macarena" again I will go crazy. At 1:30 AM I took an Uber to a quiet hotel I was desperate to get out of this place and thank God got a good nights sleep. My poor traveling partner literally did not fall asleep all night even after they finally shut up the music after 4 AM. The staff here were very nice and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable but I really warn you you will not sleep here unless you are deaf ! read more

Fantastic place to stay! Great location, nice staff, and clean rooms. It's a pretty big place, but that allows for a great mixture of people to meet. Good bar with great specials. Didn't eat the breakfast as we wanted a more traditional french breakfast. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the check in, as it took almost 30 minutes and there was only one person ahead of us in line. When I return to Paris and if I still want to go the hostel route, I will definitely rebook here. read more

This is definitely one of the better hostels I've ever stayed at. I stayed in a 4 bed female ensuite and a private room the last night because the 4 bed room was booked up. The rooms and bathrooms were really clean and I loved the curtains on the bunks because it kept the light out when people woke up early. My only complaint is that I had to do a separate booking because the website wouldn't allow me to book two different rooms in one booking, so I had to check out and check back in after my second night. The front desk staff told me I couldn't check back in until after 2pm and made me pay for a locker all day to store my luggage. It was really inconvenient and frustrating to have to pay for that when I already paid to stay for 3 consecutive nights. Otherwise, no problems.. The hotel bar can get pretty loud at night but nothing unbearable. The location is perfect, being so close to Gare du Nord train station and it's an easy travel to and from the airport. I would probably stay here again if going back to Paris. You can't really beat it for the price. read more

Alright I'm not even sure what constitutes this place as a 3 star joint but I'm gonna stick with it because some qualities were worthy of a few stars. I'm gonna start with the good but prepare yourself for the negatives afterwards as they will be plentiful. The good: Rob the bartender. He is the saving grace of staff members at this hostel-incredibly organized and efficient. All of the other bartenders? Terrible. Constantly charging different prices for different drinks and making them incorrectly/inconsistently. Front desk staff: friendly. I know I said rob is the best because he is but the front desk ladies are always friendly too. The food: when you can actually get it. But again it's normally the bartenders who mess up the orders and charge you for food they never send to the kitchen so it's a headache to deal with. The bad: Everything else. The breakfast is similar to what you'd feed a person in prison. Similar to a prison it's survival of the fittest in that there are only about 20 pieces of each utensil and when the food is gone it's gone so put up your fists and fight for your stomach. The cleaning staff: uhhhhhh lemme know why you're not allowed to use the bathroom after they clean it? My roommates and I have been kicked out of the bathroom because it was "just cleaned" excuse me do you think it was going to stay cleaned forever? The location: near the metro-thank god-so you can travel to other places because as night things get sketchy. Security: so there's security guards but the hostel bar is open to anyone and everyone so anyone can waltz on in which brings up another issue Room location: if you're a poor sap who has an interior room your window has a nice view of the bar which is bumping every night until 3am. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE. My two friends and I stayed at St. Christopher's Inn for two nights. When we arrived the staff was very rude and unaccommodating. When it was finally time to get our actual room, it was an absolute sauna as there was no AC. The windows opened maybe five inches so there was absolutely no air flow. Sleeping was miserable. Not only was our room situation unconventional, the bathroom was as well. To operate the shower, you had to hold down a button or the water would shut off within five seconds. When you walked in the bathroom, it immediately reaked of urine and in the last shower stall there was pee that had not been cleaned our entire stay. We quickly gathered the area the Hostel is located in is not the safest area. Walking from the metro to the Hostel made us very uneasy and downright unsafe. I'm surprised these issues have not been mentioned before. I would NOT recommend this Hostel to anyone. read more

Spent 2 nights here with my husband for our honeymoon and loved it! We booked a private double. The room itself was spacious enough and clean- enjoyed the trendy decor. We only used it for sleep and storing our luggage (you can also lock up your luggage in their storage room before and/or after checking out for a few euros). Liked the the private doubles here had its own restrooms. The whole hostel itself was nice and safe. Free breakfast in the morning was nice. Restaurant and cafe on the first floor. Expect to hear noise late into the night as a lot of young travelers come through here. We didn't mind the noise much. This hostel is big into the music scene as they had some band/karaoke event/80's theme activities going every night of the week- fun. read more

Pros- Free breakfast, clean rooms, social bar, and optional events. This is a great place to stay if you're planning a cheap trip to Paris and are interested in meeting people during your stay. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay here and I would recommend this place to other backpackers. Cons- The hostel is very large, so it's not as personalized as other hostels I've stayed at. Also, the surrounding area gets sketchy at night and I wouldn't recommend walking around alone after sunset. read more

I stayed at this hostel 4 years ago with no problems. This past stay was the worst hostel/hotel experience I have ever had. We checked in on a Tuesday and stayed until Thursday morning (2 nights in the middle of the week). Our room was on the 5th out of 6th floor. The room itself was nice but the wifi did not work and the towels were stained. On the first night at around 8pm the "bar" below started blasting music and it did not stop until 2am. It was as loud as being in a club. After 2am it took about an hour for people to stop making noise in the hallway. On the second evening the same thing happened again. Ear plugs were provided but they could not even dent the noise that was playing. I decided to go and ask if we could change rooms as we had an early flight the next day and could not wait until 3am to go to sleep. When I went downstairs I was told that from the pictures on the website that this can be inferred as a "party hostel" and to just deal with it. No compensation or alternative room was offered. The customer service agent was very rude and acted like 3am was a respectable bedtime for travellers. I was unable to sleep until 3am and had to be up 4 hours later. It seems as if this hostel is more interested in being a club rather than a hostel and that they expect their guests to deal with it. No where on there site did they specify that the bar was so loud that sleep was impossible until the wee hours of the morning. This hostel needs to be more upfront on their site and during check in that 3/4 of their rooms that look out onto the bar will not be able to sleep until 3am even if you are on the top floors. I will definitely not be returning or recommending this hostel to anyone. I suggest finding somewhere else to stay as this place has no respect for its guests. read more

My friends and I booked this hostel the night before our trip, so we were not expecting the Weston, but what we got was appalling. Upon arrival, we had to wait for around 10 minutes to check in because the woman working the front desk was in the bar. So, we finally get to our room to find that there were some wonderful booger surprises, and some equally as lovely trash in our beds. The room had this fantastic smell of mustard and throw up, which really just made the experience that much better since the stench remained throughout our four day stay. As we were putting out suitcases in the lockers, a man (40+) decided to curse and scream at us creating an extremely welcoming vibe. So, I marched myself downstairs to tell the staff that my sheets were covered in boogers and trash, and her response was "well, are they yours?" As if I would complain about my own snots in my bed (which I typically choose not to snot rocket in bed, I usually go for a tissue). When we awoke the next morning, there was a man orgasming in his bed (a woman was with him). I'm not a huge complainer, but I would rather be awoken from the sound of an alarm not an elderly man orgasming. Bathrooms left me speechless-- smelly, dirty, sticky just like the room. There was throw up on the wall, and when we notified the staff, they shrugged. Thanks for the worst hostel experience I've ever had and will ever have. Never again. Overall, I had a nice time at St. Christopher's; however, there were many bumps along the way. I stayed with one other friend and we booked for a six person suite for three nights. When we were first assigned our room and beds, there were people staying in the beds we were assigned so we just put our stuff on different bunks and went into the city. We didn't come back till late at night and someone was sleeping in the bed I had chosen and had moved my stuff. I didn't think much of it and just slept in an empty bed. Then we woke up early and were gone for the most of the day. When we came back someone was in the second bed I was in and had moved my stuff so I had to move everything again. When we went to bed that night all six of us were in the room yet another person walked into the room saying he had been assigned to that room also. He was assigned another room and all was fine. Yet again we were gone the next day, and when we came back the cleaning staff had cleared my bed and all of my things (including chargers and my watch) and it was no longer in the room. When I asked the front desk about it they couldn't find our reservation in the computer and said they had no idea what was happening. Come to find out that the person who had checked us in marked us as not arrived and that's why more people were being assigned to an already full room. So, the manager decides to just switch my friend and I rooms since a large group was supposed to start staying in our original room that night. He moved us to a 4-bed room and was very apologetic for the confusion, even giving us free meal coupons. The 4-bed rooms are much nicer anyway. But then the next day when we went to checkout, they would not return my deposit for my key since I didn't have the key for my original room anymore. I had also had to buy a towel on the second day since someone had used the one on my bed since it apparently was not my bed. Given that I only showered once, I left the towel in that room and was not able to return it, so I lost another 10 euros there. Overall, the beds are comfortable and the curtains make them decently dark. The bar attached the hostel is extremely fun at all times, yet pricey but worth it. The hostel is located near two metro stops which makes traveling easy, yet it is at least 20 mins from any large attraction. I would consider staying here again given the accommodating staff and fun time, but definitely make sure they are more organized and hold them more accountable for mistakes made on their behalf. read more

This is a terrible hostel!! I have traveled a lot in my past few years utilizing the hostels, bus so far this is one of the worst ones I've yet to encounter. The facilities are disgusting, sticky, and the staff is rude to all customers. I would absolutely not recommend to anyone. I went to dry some of my clothes and it turns out they were stolen. I went to go notify the front desk as they advised and they didn't do anything about it knowing they had three cameras in the room to capture it all. They shrugged it off and said I shouldn't have left it alone. Please consider another hostel to ensure a lively and safe experience. read more
