Stayed at this boutique hotel that is walking distance to the Eiffel Tower. It's small and sits on a corner so it's also uniquely shaped. Why I didn't take pictures, my post-COVID/bronchitis brain forgot to take them. Sorry!
Anywho, review for the hotel. The reservation isn't pre-paid. Though I would have sworn I had pre-paid for it, I obvi didn't double check it. The lobby is small staff is immediately who you see. Provided they're at the desk of course. The young man who checked us in was great. There were two of us and typically getting two keys isn't an issue and in fact, now seems like the norm. The key is a blank white card. Meaning, it doesn't even have the hotel logo on it. WEIRD FACT, was asked to turn in the key every time we left. Reason? So security, whom I never saw, knows & so housekeeping knows they can go into the room to clean. Not wanting to be the ugly American who rolled with things in Paris, we turned in our keys the first night we went out.
Upon return, no one was at the desk & a new person waiting to be checked in had been waiting for a few mins. After awhile staff showed up and tried to check the new guest in but they were having computer issues. We just wanted our key & staff gave us ONE key. We said there was supposed to be two that we turned in but for some reason he only gave us one in return. And he had to reprogram the key. We said we wanted two & he had difficulties reprogramming. He finally got it reprogrammed but then neither key worked. Back down to get new keys reprogrammed. They worked this time & then we did become those ugly Americans. We didn't turn in the key again until we checked out.
The elevator is SO NARROW. Like one person & luggage or two people, no luggage. There is a staircase. Also super narrow, narrow steps, dark, & no lights.
The two bed room is the two twins, side-by-side. I felt so much anxiety in this room being so small. I don't know why I did, especially considering I had been on a cruise before I checked in.
The bathroom was small but had a large sunken jet tub. The sides were exceptionally high so it was a challenge stepping in & out of the shower. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great & didn't get that hot. The water pressure for the sink was far better than the shower & got much hotter than the shower too. So strange.
They did provide a shower gel/shampoo combo pod in the bathtub. Didn't use it. They also provided one bathrobe. The towels weren't the nicest but they weren't the worst either.
The bar in the lobby is cute. Not sure who staffs it but it was cute.
I'm not offended by this hotel but also wouldn't stay here again. read more
