Excellent location within Le Marais. The hotel was basic but nice enough for our needs and clean. It was a good value for what we paid through Booking.com, but the rates posted at reception (double what we paid) would have been way too much for the value.
That short list of pros is why I gave it even two stars. These things aside, a lot went wrong during our short two night stay.
We arrived at 12:30pm (checkin is at 2pm) and were turned away rudely when we asked (nicely) for an early check in. Check out is at noon so I suspect there was a clean room that we could have been given. If there is really not a single room available by 12:30 or 1pm then the cleaning crew is pretty inefficient.
In the late morning of the next day there was suddenly no running water. I called reception and was told it would be 10 min. An hour later it finally came back on.
We went out in the afternoon and put the do not disturb sign on the door since we were only staying two nights and had left our computers strewn on the bed and passports and credit cards out in the open. When we got back the do not disturb sign was still there, but the room had obviously been entered and cleaned and all our stuff had been moved around.
At 5am the second night we were awakened by someone walking into our room. They quickly closed the door when they heard our half asleep, confused questioning. We called the front desk and the man on duty said "SORRY SORRY SORRY!" so we went back to sleep. The next morning we were told that the night manager gave a guest a key to the wrong room.
Also, wifi is very slow and they have to give you a code, which is only good for 24 hours, for every connected device. All these things happen sometimes, but when you put them all together it paints an ugly picture. read more
