Moxy's are part of the Marriott group. I have used them quite a bit as I travel solo. They always seem to be near the right location for me. They also seem to be geared more towards the 20 and 30 something crowds. Large lobbies with bright colors. Several sitting areas. Wall with games. A breakfast/ snack area. It ranges on location what each offers for food. And a bar. The bar is actually where you check in when you arrive. The rooms are small. Watch your toes so you don't kick the end of the bed walking by. The room size doesn't bother me. I want a clean and safe place to shower and sleep and Moxy's have always provided that at great rates. Bathrooms also vary some. From fabulous walk-in showers to climb in tub and showers. They provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Huge fluffy towels. No frig. You need your room for the elevator and to turn on the lights. This Paris location was in a great location. A couple of nearby metro stations, lots of great restaurants, several area sites. Neighborhood was fairly quiet and away from more congested touristy areas. Staff was so helpful. After 20 hours of flying and airports with very little sleep, the check in gal looked to see if a room was ready for me 3 hours early. She read my mind. I was able to refresh and drop off lunch and start to explore the city. I never know if there is parking available, since I fly or train in. read more

Pretty standard Moxy in my opinion! It is located close to two metro stations, which is super convenient. I am a platinum elite member and was able to get an upgrade to a room with a terrace which was lovely. They also accommodated early check in and late check out for me. The view from the room was of modern buildings, which was kind of a bummer. The room was very very small, but I think this is standard for a Moxy since the whole appeal is that it is just a place to sleep. Bed was comfortable enough and the room was clean. The downstairs area was fun. We got a free welcome drink and most of the people at the bar were young and lively. It had a really fun atmosphere. Not a ton of crazy perks here- you have to pay for breakfast and there aren't any large rooms. It was great for a night, but I would have stayed somewhere else had it been a longer trip. read more

This Moxy is a smaller location. The front desk gentleman that we were treated with was not that friendly saying our room would not be ready until 3:00pm, even though we are Bonvoy Titanium. He promised to text us when our room was ready but at 4:00pm we received no text and had to contact them and remind them we were waiting and finally were given our room. The room was very small and hot and stuffy inside but due to the time of year (April) only heat was able to work at the thermostat. This made for a hot uncomfortable 3 night stay. The bed was hard with no box spring (top matters in hard wood frame) and one side of the bed hardly had any room to get by. The pillows were old and lumpy. The TV would not stream properly in the channels and kept shuddering, irritating. The shower was a decent size but the water had weak water pressure and the faucet knob was super sensitive. The bathroom overall was very small with limited counter space. The breakfast was decent with lots of breads and cereals. The eggs were watery and the bacon not cooked well enough. Not sure what the complaints are about. As far as hotels in Paris goes, this is a very nice one. It is clean and modern and the rooms are the size to be expected in Paris. I stayed here on two separate occasions and was upgraded to a queen + sofa on the second occasion, and that room was massive by Parisian standards. They have water/tea/coffee in the lobby, a nice bar and plenty of spaces to work in the lobby. The A/C in my room worked great. What people might be complaining about is that like many hotels in Europe, you need to leave a keycard for the power in the room, including the A/C to stay on. I got around this by leaving a second key in the slot and leaving the do not disturb sign on the door so the maids wouldn't remove it. The area is great. Super close to the Marais and all of the shops with a FranPrix (grocery) just across the street. I will agree it was a bit pricey (more than a Moxy in NYC would cost) but for the comfort and location, it's one of my favorites in Paris! read more

Other than the rooms being tiny and no closet or dressers for your clothes we had a wonderful stay. From the moment we came in there were very friendly.. we recieved 2 drink cards which hit the spot especially after that long flight and drive from the airport. The hotel offers continental breakfast but also has a kitchen where they offer food items. So many restaurants around the hotel we didn't need to eat there. The Bartender Marmat was awesome he hooked me up with his special jalapeño infused tequilla shots and margaritas total fire!!! The cleaning staff are nice rooms are tiny so really not much to clean mainly replace towels and make bed. They offer a scale in the lobby to weigh your outbound luggage for 1 Euro which I would recommend you do. Remember 24 Kilos for check-in bags and 12 kilos per person for carry-on items. If you don't it will cost you €70 which you will not like... Especially if your bringing back suvoniers for family... The do replace water in the room every day 1 per person so couples get 2. Every other month the hold a small flee market inside the lobby giving local small businesses as shot at sales. They offer late check-out till 2PM but make sure the cleaning lady knows or she will you an earful lol. Overall the hotel is postioned in a great area with Bistrot, Bulangeries, Cafes, Quick Marts, and train station stops all with minutes of walking. Every weekend the hold a major fleemarket on the main road 2 streets away which can congest traffic so be prepared. So to warp this up 5 stars just remember the rooms are tiny and you will live out of your bags. read more

The Moxy Paris Bastille is an excellent location! It's perfectly centralized, walkable and in the center of the city without being the center of the city. The staff is welcoming and I wish I got their names. From my express check-in and accommodating my early arrival to my additional room and the housekeeping staff as well. The rooms are a bit on the tinier side but still, very manageable and clean. The lobby is always lively. I saw it thought the day and the hours of the night and there was almost always someone or a group of people enjoying their time. A lot of tourist here. I had such a great stay at the Moxy Paris in Bastille neighborhood! I even booked Moxy Bastille again for my finale night in Paris after traveling around Europe for a couple of weeks. The Moxy Marriott brand is a go to for me because of the fun vibe and amenities. It's a great spot for international travelers with the bar area as a central meeting spot, free drink tickets and fun events. The staff and Bartender Christian were super friendly and accommodating. The rooms and lobby have that perfect style, lovely outdoor space and really nice latte machine 24:7 & deluxe bfast for a little extra $. We really enjoyed staying at the Moxy Paris Bastille. As the name says, it is very close to the Bastille markets, and can walk to various restaurants and stores close to the area. Like other Moxy's, it concentrates on things that young people might want (a large bar, places to hang out, late night parties) and exclude what isn't so important (business center, indoor pool). It has a large bar that centers the bottom floor, and you can check-in there. Unlike some other Moxy's, this one does offer a buffet breakfast for Elite Marriott members and we took advantage of that. For the three of us, we got a family room which had a pull out bed couch and a nice balcony overlooking the city. We were offered a welcome drink for each member of our party, all of which was good. They give you two free waters (in paper packaging) everyday to keep oneself hydrated. For it being a hotel geared towards the young, it was actually remarkably quiet on the three nights we stayed (though that's probably just a matter of your neighbors and luck). One big problem was the shower...very low water pressure and constantly fluctuating water temperature (probably related)...this isn't good and the main reason I couldn't give a 5. The Moxy was the most affordable hotel in the Marriott family in Paris proper, and a great place to stay for folks who would not be in their room a lot. The nearest subway station is Chemin Vert (very close...3 minute away) , and from there you can easily get to any other part of the city. Happy exploring! read more

Great location, very close to subway, vibrant Bastille and vibrant Le Marais neighborhood. Staff was wonderful! Gladys welcomes ud with smiles and asked about our holiday plans. We arrived way early but they kept our belongings safe until check in time. Another female staff member (I am so sorry that I didn't ask your name!) welcomed us with mimosas; it was a wonderful check-in experience! During our stay, Front Desk team members (Especially Zekeriyya) was amazing, helped us to keep our food in the fridge many times. Gave us welcome drinks. And all other Front desk team members and bartenders are wonderful. Room is small but that is always the standard at the Moxy brand. It is modern and clean. There is no fridge but they keep your stuff at the lobby fridge if needed; by labeling it. I had one issue about the frequency of changing the sheets, but they helped immediately and left very kind gifts and notes in my room! Knew we were booking an economy hotel, but to not have phones in the room! 3am my husband was ill from food poisoning, he then tripped on the corner bed and hit his head and blacked out. Since there are no phones I had to run the hallway at 3am screaming until another guest came to our aid. No one ever came up from the staff. None of what happened was any fault of the staff but to not have phones in any rooms. If you are senior or with elderly or are any bigger than 180lbs. This room or hotel is not for you! The room could barely fit our two pieces of med luggage, my husband and myself. The a/c is locked and so you can even get air. I've spent a week here and as long as you know what's up it can be a good place to stay. Moxy is meant to be basic - all the Marriott Super Duper Diamond Platinums or whatever - calm TF down. You're not upgraded because there are NO upgrades, ok? Deal. Good: *Comfy mattress - I was able to get good sleep *Decent shower with a really good hairdryer *Great location - a block from 2 metros, hundreds of restaurants within walking distance. There's a grocery store across the street too. *Friendly staff. The meh: *I mean, there are NO amenities - no storage, no closet (just a few hangers), no ironing, no coffee makers. I knew this upfront and it's fine TBH. The bad: *My sheets had other ppls hair on them - once I told the staff it was fixed quickly. *Rooms are dated/worn *Not much soundproofing - I lucked out and really had no issues but if you have noisy neighbors you're screwed. As I traveled throughout Europe with my niece, this was the last hotel we stayed in during the trip. The hotel was ok and we both were not that impressed with the room. Not because of the size as that was typical of a European room but because there were little flies in the room, fruit flies. They were annoying for sure but not enough to go to the front desk to complain. But the lobby area is nicely decorated with a lot of activities, drinks and a great vibe. It is within walking distance from the RATP, there is a grocery store a block away and restaurants nearby. It is ok to stay but I probably wouldn't stay again unless I used points to stay. read more

Recently had a repeat stay in this fun, modern, pristine hotel in one of the best locations in Paris. From the moment I was checked in with a beaming smile early in the morning by Gladys, I just knew I would have another happy, successful stay- and I did. The rooms can be compact, but there is nothing lacking in amenities or cleanliness. The beds and linens are luxurious and make for a great night's sleep in this historic, quiet neighborhood of Paris. I would book a higher category in order to secure a balcony. The full English/Continental breakfast is extensive and meets every dietary need. The patisserie assortment is fresh and delicious. There is a variety of teas and coffees offered complimentary throughout the day and may be enjoyed in the large lobby or the semitropical garden. Guests are also treated to welcome drinks at the bar. On a past stay for business, there was a lovely young lady , Megan, that was so helpful and sincere I had hoped to return. I have and she is still there, just as helpful and elegant as before. A friend stayed with me on my most recent visit who happened to have his birthday. We were overwhelmed the hotel had noted this and they had balloons and thoughtful little gifts for him. He said it was his favourite birthday ever. This was all arranged by a vivacious beauty, Beatriz. She is a new and greatly appreciated asset to the Moxy. Every stay here brings back special memories. Rarely am I ever sad to leave a hotel(!) except here. That's how wonderfully run the Moxy Hotel is and wonderful the staff is from the top management to the most recently hired co worker. The travel company that I used to visit Paris booked this hotel for me. I had such a lovely stay here. If you do stay however please note that the rooms are very tiny! Nonetheless, the hotel is very clean and trendy. It's definitely geared more towards the younger generation/millennials. Downstairs there are card games and board games as well as a full service bar. The hotel has this lovely aroma that penetrates the air as soon as you walk in. Every time I walked in I just marveled at that smell! The staff here were pretty friendly and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and the views were nice too. Very close by there is a grocery store (Picard) and a Franprix for quick drinks/snacks. Breakfast here is complimentary. It's a very light breakfast, so if you are an American that loves a big breakfast you won't find it here. The light breakfast options they have though are delicious!! If you plan on staying here please know that it is tailored to the ages of 18 to about 35. It's literally like a college dorm with a hangout cafeteria (the lobby). The Check in staff are only concerned with each other and are terribly trained in any type of customer service etiquette. When we first arrived, we waited forever for our room to be ready! It doesn't even pay to be an elite status here, in fact, we are lifetime titanium Elite Status and It was like we were being penalized for having a more expensive room and so that's why we had to wait when in reality it should've been the other way around and they should've cleaned our room first! Makes sense right. Completely backwards here lol. Please know that most of the food you order here is made by chef Mike... (microwave) and we saw it with our own eyes but it comes in handy when coming in from a late night. It doesn't matter what status you are, you are getting treated with as little regard as the next person. The Rooms: Where do I begin? When I said dorm, I meant it, they are very very tiny with no room to put anything, any food, extra things you may have purchased, waters, nothing. Our room had a balcony and the bed was right next to the door so you had to squeeze your way through in order to go outside. There is absolutely no outdoor balcony lighting so be careful at night. The bathroom is just an idiotically designed, poorly engineered space with the shower set up in a way that when you're showering, water gets all over the bathroom floor and I'm not even remotely exaggerating. Your shower mat gets soaked and it's just a dangerous wet mess. Then they have no face/washcloths to wash your body with so I had to use a hand towel in the shower to wash up with... that was awkward and incredibly inconvenient and just weird. We asked for them and they didn't have them... i think they thought we were weird for asking actually lol, it Was the weirdest thing ever. Ladies: If you wear makeup and are particular about room lighting like I am, you will hate the lighting set up In the room and bathroom. In the bathroom only one side of your face is lit so it's completely uneven. You'll only know how your makeup actually looks when you get into the elevator and see yourself in those mirrors. Shaving your legs or anything else for that matter in the bathroom will no doubt be a challenge for you no matter what you do so plan accordingly. The only thing you'll be able to shave with any type of precision is your armpit lol. read more

Basically, everything is new or atleast seems and in very nice condition They have sensor lights even in the hallway, kudos for having to save some electricity. But at the same time - they don't have a mini fridge and/or kettle to even make some tea and hence 4 stars. But i would definitely come back and stay here again next time! Stayed here for about a week in Paris , really not a good hotel, the room is comically small with absolutely no amenities except a bathroom, nothing else and view was terrible. I was ambassador member and they didn't bother with any upgrades. I wouldn't recommend staying here and will unlikely stay here again. They have a breakfast that is free for elite members (vs points) , the breakfast was nothing but cheap stuff that doesn't represent Paris or the French culture etc, just cheap generic cheese, some eggs, disgusting looking sausage and a variety of yogurts and croissants. The location is about 30 mins to 1 hour walking from most attractions. Don't have much to say about this location , just not worth it. read more

The Moxy Paris Bastille is a great hotel for a few nights while touring Paris. It is considerably less expensive than other Marriott properties I looked at prior to booking the Moxy. I used Marriott points and felt this hotel served my needs. It was close to several bus lines and metro lines that took my wife and I everywhere we needed to go. The hotel is approximately 45-50 minutes from CDG pending traffic. There are are ton of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants within walking distance and I would say that the Bastille area is very hip and young.....think Williamsburg Brooklyn NY. The staff at the hotel is kind but don't expect your bags to be brought up to the room. Check in is at 3pm normally however they realize most folks arrive on a red eye and would like to get into a room early. The staff welcomes you with a drink which was nice. The staff behind the bar are very friendly. I did not eat there but they do offer a light breakfast. I chose to visit the local bakeries for breakfast. The rooms are small non2 ways about it but they are functional. The bathroom is a nice size with plenty of towels and hot water. The bed was firm, there is no telephone in the room and the TV function to request extra pillows did not work. We had to ask the folks at the front desk twice but did eventually get the pillows. The walls are thin and you can hear folks in the hallway. There is a lovely courtyard to take some sun and enjoy the weather. Inside the lobby has many seating areas with games, puzzles etc. Overall it was a good experience. read more

We stayed at the Moxy Paris during Fete Nationale (Bastille Day). I love how lively and fun the space is. It almost did not feel like a hotel but rather a really fun coffee house and bar. At night the surrounding area was always well lit making it easy and safe to explore at any hour. Sandra greeted us at the receptionist desk and was an excellent resource throughout our trip. She gave us advice for local restaurants and activities in celebration of the holiday. And ensured that we able to check into our room quickly, as we arrived from the airport slightly earlier than expected. I would recommend staying here especially if you would like easy access to the train etc. Note that the rooms are pretty tight, but this apparently is the norm in Paris read more

we took a long vacation to Paris, France (10 days)....and it turned out horrid due to Moxy Bastlile hotel. The maintenance issues imclude the room temperature not working ...we had to sleep with open windows (during winter weather). Hotel evacuations due to boilers breaking down. Plus the hotel is infested with bugs / spiders ....my niece was bitten and needed medical attention. And worst of all the management was the worst and did not resolve any issues. STAY AWAY....its better to sleep outside. read more

The Moxy in Paris is not a hotel I would choose to visit again. While the rooms are clean, the location is fair and the beds are comfy - I was told that Marriott Titanium members are not offered upgrades at this hotel. I was a bit perplexed and fine with their policy until my friend checked in and was offered a complimentary upgrade to a room with a balcony - which is one of the rooms I wanted. I even read other reviews where people were offered upgrades with elite status. I even checked online and rooms with balconies were still being sold. Sorry Moxy and Marriott. I have never left a one-star review, but this is the first. On a positive note, there is a grocery store next door that has snacks and drinks for all of your needs in Paris. read more

Cute hipster vibe in Bastille area. Games in the lobby and lots of lounge area inside and out. Rooms are small, but modern. We stayed here twice in one week. First time, everything was pretty good. We had a room for 3 (bed and sofa bed). 6th floor, cute balcony. The second stay was not so great. They messed up our rooms, gave us 1 room for 2 instead of 1 room for 3. I had to go through 3 different people to get a fix. They gave us 2 rooms on different floors. Then they tried to charge us for the extra room. I also had to ask several times for an extra blanket over the course of 4 hours. Our shower drain did not work well and we had to turn off the water mid showers in order for it not to flood. read more

This hotel offers great value for being in the middle of Paris. I have the Bonvoy Marriott app and received an alert to check in the night before my stay. This resulted in me being able to check in early, which is always nice. The hotel staff were all very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The lobby area is great and serves as a check in spot, small restaurant (flat breads and snacks not a full menu but they have food) a bar, a social area with games and tables etc. At night there were several people staying from the hotel all gathered around the bar, having some great drinks. They also have an excellent outdoor courtyard, just behind the bar and check in area. The bar has a great happy hour and their craft cocktails are superb. The rooms themselves are not very large, but they have most everything that is needed. Everything was clean and tidy. But there are no closets. And if you are tall/large you might have a tight squeeze moving around the room if you aren't staying by yourself. If you are going to be out and about exploring Paris, then this is not a bad place for a night or maybe 2-3 for the value you are getting. While it is not a short walk from say, the Eiffel Tower, or the Louvre, the neighborhoods around are very interesting to walk around and explore, and there is a metro station very close by to get you where you need to go. read more

This was a convenient hotel for my 1 night stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful upon check in. Luckily I was able to check in 3 hours early. For anyone not so lucky, they're more than happy to hold your luggage. The lobby/ common area is quite pleasant. There are board games to play, plenty of seating, and a good amount of outlets for charging your device. I received excellent service from the bartenders. Their mojitos are excellent! They have a small food menu as well. The room was super small, but fine for 1 night for a couple. If we had stayed anymore than a few nights, it may have been uncomfortable. It was basic, but functional. There's space to put luggage under the bed. There's no closet or vanity in the bathroom. What was really shocking for me was that there was no safe in the room. It gave me a bit of anxiety leaving valuables in the room. The location was great. Moxy is located within a block or 2 of great restaurants and bars. It was easy getting Ubers to pick us up right in front of the hotel. I'd stay here again if I needed a place to stay for a night or two. read more

I'd say three stars is pretty accurate. I will say I was very impressed with the location, staff, and lounge area. You get a free drink upon checking in which is awesome. The neighborhood seems like a very safe area and within walking distance of quite a few sites and good dinner places. The actual room is what I wasn't impressed by. The first room we stayed in smelled like mold pretty horribly and the baseboard by the bathroom was showing signs of water damage. We switched rooms the second night and though we didn't smell mold we still saw signs of water damage. The rooms were pretty quaint and low on storage, too. However, I will say for the location and the price this hotel is hard to beat. There's a good chance I'd stay here again. read more

So I walk in I see this guy at the check in we were greeted wonderfully there where these candy things.I look around see games people dancing and blasting music ( it was pride night) I went to go pick up dinner. We ate and all that we played one game. I started to go to my hotel room it was ok it was a bit small. I started to go to shower but it was all good till the end.I saw water on the carpet and the floor and the towel I placed in case of a little drizzle I stepped onto the towel water was coming out of it when I put one foot in. I had to get dressed in a wet bathroom. It was unpleasant but all the other things was ok.I don't recommend it but overall if I had to give a rating out of then and not five I give it 4/10 read more

Upon walking into the lobby, a strong stench of perfume masking an underlying odor hits you in the face. At some times it smells just of strong perfume, others like strong perfume covering up a sewage smell. Regardless, too strong and makes you want to spend the least amount of time possible in the lobby. On the first night I stayed here, I was in a triple room which was pretty spacious except the shower situation was odd, no shower separated in the bathroom it's all one room. I strongly disliked that. Also, the guy dragging my comforter on the ground through the hotel as he came to make the sofa bed up was also disgusting. On the second night, I stayed in a double occupancy room and the bathroom was much nicer in the sense that it was an actual bathroom, with a shower! Great Hotel. We stayed here in October of 2022. It is a nice brand new, very clean hotel. The rooms are a great size. The breakfast was a huge spread with lots of great options. The staff is awesome. Because they just opened they are still working out a few kinks but the staff is totally on top of it and make sure any issues are resolved quickly. Fabian took great care of us he worked hard to fix a few issues with our reservation that were caused by Marriot not Moxy. Moxy is owned by Marriot. If you are going to Disneyland it is a short walk and a one stop train ride too the front gates. One night the train was closed when we left so we walked it was only about a 20 minute walk. Well lighting and sidewalks the whole way. FYI the hotel was able too help book airport transportation which was a fixed rate from the hotel to the airport. We got a nice big taxi van and were given the rate upfront too ensure we were not over charged. Thank you to the great staff we really enjoyed our stay. read more

The moxy is a unique concept, its basic accommodation for tourists looking to have a decent room to go back to at night. Its not romantic, you want to get out of the room as quickly as possible, they are EXTREMELY small by American standards, but you have to remember that this is Paris, and unless you want to pay 500euro or more for a nice room, the Moxy is a great alternative. If you've ever stayed at the little local hotels and inns, you'll appreciate the Moxy. The rooms have working AC, nice albeit small bathrooms and a shower, great communal living room downstairs, complimentary breakfast and VERY friendly staff. One thing I did notice is that I was told there are no upgrades at the Moxy regardless of the status. But I've read of many other guests getting upgrades to larger rooms some with balconies even. I was disappointed to read that because I have lifetime status and dozens of suite night upgrades that I would have loved to use it would have been great to use one of these in Paris, but as any marriott member knows no marriott hotel ever honors those upgrades. The staff speaks english and the location is close to the Eastern paris sites and the subway station is very close. So if you're looking for a nice, friendly, clean place to sleep that won't break your budget in an expensive city like Paris, then definitely try the Moxy. read more

3-stars for this hotel is a stretch. Look for the definition of 'simple hotel' in google and this should come up. Rooms were tiny and bare, with not even a closet in them. The smell of cigarettes was awful, even in the bedding and inside the room. After 9pm the staff attending the hotel was just careless. Barman/Receptionist drinking at the bar with guests and his own friends, I asked for an extra pillow and nobody could help because the room cleaners left for the day... I'm giving it two stars because the location was ok. Nothing to write home about, just ok. It is a $30 road-hotel in Paris at best only at a much higher cost. Not what I'm used to with Marriott. I'm a gold member and my girlfriend is a platinum executive so we've been in plenty of Marriott hotels. I can tell you this was the worse by far. read more
