For appetizers we had Oysters Rockefeller and Avgolomono Soup. The soup was very good, though the oysters could have used more salt in my opinion. My Dad ordered a drink which, apart from being delicious, came in a very unique cup. The seafood entrees we ordered were tender and fresh, which I could tell because none of them had any noticeably fishy smell. The fillets I ordered were deboned flawlessly. I felt that the fish was cooked just right, and salt and pepper were provided on request. Great value at time of visit. Would recommend and visit again.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the manager of the establishment and he was very inviting (Peter). We started off with some drinks, I had the dirty martini, my aunt had a Lychee martini, and my uncle a red sangria. When we were seated we started with Thai Calamari, it was so tender and just the right amount of crisp with a flavorful sauce that wasn't overtly sweet. Next I had the beef shank with risotto and the Demi glaze to accompany this fall off the bone lamb was divine. The risotto was creamy and the perfect texture to accompany the meat. My aunt had the lobster stuffed crab with risotto (her favorite), my uncle had the chicken with mash, a classic. Overall the food, the service, the view, and the overall ambiance is definitely a winner. I would recommend this place as a good spot to come with friends, a date, or even a solo dine. Definitely recommend.

They also have valet which I would assume parks your car on the street as well. The place itself is cute, but it's small. The party I attended was in the interior of the location (there was another party happening outside). What I didn't like about the interior was that if anyone was dining in there for lunch/dinner, they had to walk through our party room in order to get to their seats. The staff also had to go through our room to get food/drinks to the other diners. There is also only one restroom for women, which there was always a line for. In regard to the food, the appetizers brought out were the crab and strawberry salad, the Asian ribs, and the octopus salad. This was all very good. For the entree I chose the rib eye. It was really good as well, I just wish there had been a little more seasoning, and also I requested medium but it came out more on the well side. For dessert we had the brownies with ice cream, and the Nutella wontons. This was delicious! Overall, I'd recommended this place for a small party or private dinner. But don't expect privacy.

It's not mind-blowing, but it's solid, flavorful, and pairs really well with their seafood, which is always cooked just right, not overly done like some places. My husband and I both enjoy the food here, and I've consistently received great customer service. Even on the one occasion they forgot part of my order (they missed the crab legs), the staff handled it quickly and professionally, which really impressed me. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled says a lot and that's what keeps loyal customers. That said, I do wish the overall cleanliness of the place was better especially the bathrooms. I've never been comfortable using them, and when you're about to dig into (or just finished) a hands-on seafood boil, having a clean restroom is kind of essential. Washy washy!! Because of that, my husband and I almost always opt for takeout and enjoy it in the comfort of our home. All in all, it's a great casual spot for tasty seafood, especially if you're already at the mall and craving something flavorful and satisfying.

This brand-new spot on Forest Avenue is a sleek, modern izakaya that feels like it was plucked straight from Tokyo and dropped into the heart of the borough. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is electric--warm wood tones, soft lighting, and a lively open kitchen where the chefs are slicing fish with samurai-level precision. I started with the Hamachi Carpaccio, drizzled in yuzu-truffle ponzu and topped with microgreens and crispy garlic chips. Each bite was a perfect balance of buttery yellowtail and bright citrus pop. The sushi omakase (chef's choice) was the star of the night. Standouts included: Bluefin Otoro so melt-in-your-mouth rich I almost cried. Uni from Hokkaido--creamy, briny, and served at the perfect chill. A live scallop nigiri still twitching on the rice (yes, that fresh). But Oishi isn't just raw fish heaven. The izakaya side shines with small plates like Wagyu Beef Skewers glazed in a sticky-sweet tare, and Truffle Miso Black Cod that flakes apart like edible art. Even the vegan options (grilled king oyster mushroom "scallops") had my plant-based friend raving. Cocktail game? Chef's kiss. The Yuzu Gin Fizz with shiso leaf garnish is dangerously drinkable, and the sake list has gems you won't find at your average spot. Service was attentive but never hovering--our server even explained the difference between akami and chutoro without making us feel like amateurs. Prices are fair for the quality (omakase ~$85, rolls $14-$18), and portions are generous. They're still in soft-open mode, but you'd never know it--everything ran like clockwork. Staten Island, we don't deserve this place... but I'll be back weekly anyway. Oishi is officially my new favorite restaurant on the island. Run, don't walk.
