You can get your dry cleaning done same day, though I've never needed the quick turn around, and the staff is so so nice. Super convenient and definitely friendly. I was treated like an old friend and it was 10 minutes until closing. Awesome people here. I had two suits cleaned and was charged $8 a piece. Solid. The suits came back looking outstanding. Complaints? Yes one. They missed the crease in my pants by just a hair. You can't tell unless you look close but it's kind of annoying to see a slight double crease. I will definitely be back, but I will ask them to be careful with the press. read more

This is a really great place to get your clothes dry cleaned if you're in the Lake Merritt / Downtown area. As a collector of vintage clothes, it can be a dilemma finding a cleaning establishment that will actually take the time to listen to me babble on about my neurotic concerns. They operate the cleaning plant in house so you are dealing directly with the people who are working on your clothes. This is great if you require special instructions. They also have some of the cheapest prices around! ------------------------------------ OOOoo!!! I'm not very fond of retracting my statements, especially after hyping this place up to my wife. But alas Le Magic you have shamed me and let me down! I gave you 5 stars man! Anyhow, my wife brought in her wedding gown which had an obvious food stain on it, but she still made a point of giving specific instructions to get it out. A few days pass, she picks picks her gown, and the offending stain was still there! They didn't even make note of it. Not cool at all. Absolutely terrible service. My jacket had a stain on it that was not removed after the so called dry cleaning. I asked for my money back politely and they had the nerve to deny me of it. I can't say enough good things about Le Magic cleaners. All their work is done on site, which is invaluable for two reasons - 1) if your clothes get lost or damaged, you know who to blame (and shout at), and 2) #1 will not happen because the owners take great pride in their work. The prices are reasonable ($0.95 men's shirts, $3.25 dry cleaning) and my clothes always come back perfect. The owners know me and know how I like my clothes so I never have to give instructions. If I drop off my clothes by 9 am, they are usually ready by 5 pm. Good tailoring service, too - in fact, they will readily admit when they cannot handle a tailoring request and will send you down the street to a different seamstress. Dog vomit is one of those odors that just don't want to go away. Between two dogs, I've seen and smelled my share of dog vomit. I thought I could get same day service but there was a three day turn around since I had two couch slipcovers and 4 pillow cases. Everything came back clean and my total was $40. In on Monday, out on Wednesday. Great service and fair prices. I've never had large items dry cleaned so I can't really compare. Sadly, there is still a tiny race of the stank spot, but given that dog vomit is just that hard to get rid of, I'm not complaining. read more

This is my first review of a dry cleaners and i am happy that it is a good one. Living in West Oakland means that there is absolutely nothing around you, so when i was looking for a place to get my suit dry cleaned i of course looked on yelp and i found Le Magic in downtown Oakland. Le Magic, you are amazingly CHEAP and get the job done. I brought my two piece suit in to get dry cleaned at it was only $8 and i got my suit 3 days later! That is a pretty good turn around. This is definitely a mom and pop business and the guy behind the counter was very nice. I will continue to take my dry cleaning to Le Magic Cleaners, they are quick, cheap, efficient and certainly deserve credit for running a good business. This Place is Awesome! I work in SF and live in Oakland so can only really drop my clothes off in the morning for dry cleaning before work. I came across this place using yelp and thought I would give it a shot. They are affordable and do a great job cleaning and pressing my cloths. And they let me come back the next day and grab a coat or scar from my order to wear to work, even though all my of clothes wont be finished until the next day. Definitely will keep coming back here until my route to work takes me otherwise. read more

Found this place on yelp. Went in and got my dress dry cleaned for $6. They don't accept credit cards unless you spend at least $10. They were nice enough to let me pay with card because it was my first time. Located in downtown so it might be hard to find parking during business hours. read more

Unbelievably incompetent and unapologetic After returning home from le cleaners, I opened my dry cleaning bag to find a new, sizable yellow stain on my wrinkled blouse, and two jackets that clearly had not been cleaned. I ran back to le cleaners to retrieve a pair of dress pants and a silk dress before further damage could be done. The man behind the counter proceeded to search for my clothing by emptying numerous carts of customers' clothing onto an absolutely filthy floor. After finding my clothing (finally), I explained to the man that I was taking my clothing back because his company had just ruined an expensive blouse. I was frustrated that in addition to ruining my clothing, someone had attempted to hide the mistake. Refusing to make eye contact with me, the man mumbled 'yeah sorry' and proceeded to the next customer. I'm still out the cost of the blouse and the cost of the dry cleaning. read more

I work couple of blocks away and have been taking my clothes there to dry clean it's been over 4 years now - good prices and overall a satisfied customer until last week. Dropped off couple of pants and earlier this week when I wore my pants, I noticed one of the hooks weren't there and the fabric was ripped off. I got upset as it was one of my favorite pants. I took it back there to show it to the guy and he told me his wife will fix it. I came back today to pick it up expecting a neat job. Basically it was fixed by stitching it back and putting a cheap quality hook. Then the wife denied it was their fault even insisting that my pants were cheap quality. Excuse me! The pants are made up of silk and wool from Banana Republic. They basically don't care about customer service and retaining a loyal customer. these guys are incredible! a can of paint burst after falling in my closet and covered most of my hanging clothes in paint. Le Magic got all the paint out and only charged me $1 extra per item. I had a bunch of nice items dry cleaned (ranging from silk to lace). I picked them up and one of my dresses had a NEW stain on it. A BIG stain! It looked like brown sauce?!! AND when I checked my banking statement, they charged me TWICE for the same transaction by accident. They also used PINS to attach one of my silk tops to the hanger since it wouldn't hang properly. The pins ended up leaving small holes on my top! I would not come back here unless I had items to dry clean that I didn't care much for. read more

This place is by the best the dry cleaners in Berkeley and Oakland! The price is very reasonable ($2-3 per article of clothing), the owners are very friendly, and their quality of service is fantastic. I frequently come here to drop off my clothes and come back a couple days later to pick them up. They come back very clean and nicely pressed. In addition, they have same day service! Perfect when you forget to your dry cleaning or are given short notice for an important event. Although their sign says same day service only if you bring your clothes in before 10 AM, I have certainly brought in clothes past the deadline and they still completed it for me on the same day! I am so happy to have found this place on Yelp! The prices are good, the service is friendly and fast, and they even do small mendings for you if you need it. After over a year trying to find a place that actually CLEANED my clothes without ruining anything, this place is fantastic. If they stayed open a little later it would be more convenient as I don't work in the 'hood, and it would be great if they had someone around to do alterations, but all in all, I've been very satisfied. So, when I changed my driving path to work one day, I thought I would give Le Magical Cleaners a try. Boy, am I happy! Le Magical Cleaners are very professional, quick (same day if you drop off your clothes before 9am) and cheap. Plus, you can rest assure that your clothes won't be outsourced (like so many other dry cleaning places do and you don't know where they actually go). Upon reading a review about this place, about stains not being removed, I made sure that they had marked them for removal (all but one, as I was told it would come out in the process). And upon picking the items up, I inspected them carefully BEFORE payment. The stains on one item had not been removed. The second item had the stain removed, but had a NEW red ink like stain. Awful.
