I started coming to this cleaners when my former cleaners were forced out of business about 6 years ago. Sunny and Anna were friendly and sweet. The quality of services was what kept me as a happy return customer. Anna also does amazing alteration work. They go out of their way to offer extraordinary services. Highly recommended! read more

I stopped by Lucky Center Cleaners on Mountain Blvd. They are just to the right of the grocery store lot. You can take the stairs or follow the walkway on the other side to get to their entrance. This was my first time using them and I dropped off several items including 4 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts. They gave me a one week pickup date and everything was ready right on time. When I came back for my items, I was impressed. Everything was clean, neatly folded, and there were no strong or lingering scents. The quality felt consistent across all my pieces. Their pricing is competitive with other cleaners I have used, so no concerns there. I will definitely be returning. read more

Super friendly service and impeccable alterations! I buy vintage denim and often need the inseam altered due to my height. Using the original hem, the work was seamless. When the original hem wasn't possible, they'll double stitch if requested and it looks amazing. Love this place so much and the dry cleaning is on point as well! read more

Great tailoring of pants and dry cleaning. They got all of the tanning spray out of my dress. Prices are what you'd expect.

Flawless - and I don't use that word often. Garments are cleaned and pressed to perfection, and alterations are right the first time, every time. I even trust my most expensive clothing to them - they understand fabrication and textiles like an atelier, so I have full confidence every time I drop something off with the Lucky team. read more

They are the best. We exclusively go here for all of our dry cleaning and tailoring. So friendly, reliable and reasonable.

Support local businesses! Sunny and her team are *amazing.* They've successfully addressed dry cleaning needs including on clothes damaged by other dry cleaners. And their tailoring is top notch as well. Highly recommend! read more

Having moved back to the east bay hills, I've been hesitant in finding a new spot for laundry services, even considering bringing my clothes back to the City for washing & ironing. Luckily I found Lucky Center! Not only did they do a fantastic job, but the service is awesome and the turnaround is quick. I've found my spot and they also do alterations as well! read more

I took my mother-of-the groom dress there to be steamed prior to the wedding. They did a beautiful job, so I took it there to be cleaned after the wedding, too. Beautifully done! Great service! They noticed a snag in the fabric and called it to my attention right away, suggesting a fix that worked very well. My son and his bride took their wedding finery there after the wedding, as well. They're very pleased! read more

We have finally found some cleaners who are the real deal! They've taken on projects that other cleaners handle, and did a great job, like large curtains and other customizations. They do amazing work in repairing clothing, And, of course, they are very good at cleaning. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are now our go-to place for cleaners in the Oakland/Montclair area. read more

This is a terrific dry cleaner that always does a perfect job on my dry cleaning, laundering, and alterations. They are very nice and welcoming and always remember my name and greet me personally. I brought my linen tablecloth from Italy in to be cleaned. When I picked it up I first noticed that the cloth had not been pressed. I asked to view it and there were yellow stains all over the cloth from being wadded up instead hung to dry properly as needed for linen. The vendor that Lucky's outsources to just sent it back stained all over and Lucky's did not even notice it was not pressed and stained. read more

Very friendly, great prices. My new go to dry cleaner. They also were great at mending some moth holes which I really appreciated.

Good work, timely service, courteous staff. This is why I have been going there for years.

They got some major red wine stains out of a white romper and sweater that I really adored. Thank you! I'll be back after the next spill...

I brought my silk wedding dress here for cleaning. I had waited 3 years after my wedding to get the dress cleaned and it was super heavily stained with dirt/ mud, sweat, and probably fake tanner too. I had brought it to another cleaner first who told me they wouldn't take my dress because they weren't confident the stains would come out and I wouldn't be happy with it. Lucky said they were confident they could clean it but it might not be perfect - well, it was pretty perfect! I couldn't believe they were able to actually get it to the state it's in. They saved my dress and I'm so glad I found them. read more

OK, it's just a hoodie, but it's my favorite piece of clothing. A USF hoodie. But the right cuff was unraveling, so I brought it to Lucky Center Cleaners for repair, because they're close. Well they did an absolutely perfect mend! Better than new! I've since learned that offer an extensive list of tailoring and mending Services. Who new? It cost $6.00. Christopher Cole read more

I recently bought a suit from Barney's for a business trip in New York. I was in such a rush as I was cutting the label off the sleeve, and I accidentally cut a hole in the jacket. Rookie mistake! I thought I would end up donating this suit as I researched all over the Bay Area for a a good tailor who could possibly repair the hole in my expensive jacket. Unfortunately, the only thing they could offer was a patch. Honestly, a patch would be worse than wearing it with a hole... I had given up my search by then, but as I was dropping off my weekly dry cleaning, I thought I would at least ask if fixing the hole without a patch was possible. Lily said, "no problem!" Apparently they specialize in "reweaving," which is something I had never heard of before. A week after I dropped of my jacket, Lily called me to say that it was ready! Wow! When I came to pick it up I was shocked at what I saw -- no hole! As you can see in the photo, the hole is completely invisible! I don't know how they did it, but thanks again! read more

Lucky Center Cleaner - Before & After! It's a miracle! - Dry Cleaning Near Me - Oakland, California

Lovely people who do a great job with all clothes cleaning issues including repair. I just had them replace a zipper on a jacket and looks like new! They even offered to reimburse me for a shirt that was damaged. Only problem was the damage was a tear I noticed before taking the shirt to the cleaners caused by poor quality of the shirt not by the dry cleaners. read more

Excellent work altering my wedding suit pants to a perfect fit. I was welcomed and attended to politely in both of my visits.

Excellent quality work and service. Highly recommend. The staff are super accommodating and professional. The prices are very competitive.

Fantastic, reliable cleaners. Personalized service. Fast alternations. I have been coming here for 30 years and can't say I have ever had anything less than stellar service. They follow all of my instructions, are always timely, and have even saved some of my more troubled clothes with repairs. They are under new ownership now, but same great service. I finally had to sit down and write this review. Typically, my shirts have grease spots on them from cooking, and they come out clean every time. read more

Illegally Charged my Credit Card I called this business to do in home measurements (5 minutes from her shop). Before she came I made sure to understand her pricing model based off fabric, lining, double lining, etc. Once she came to my house the price of her services more than doubled. Please note that the fabric didn't change, single lining or doubling lining didn't change either....what changed was her seeing my home. I was charged $100 for her to come and she let me know that the $100 would go towards the services once we decide. So we decided that we only wanted curtains upstairs in our main area which equated to $80. So when I dropped off and picked up my curtains, I stated that we are using this towards our credit. She said ok. She didn't ask for payment or anything. So about a day later I see a charge from her business for $80. I did not authorize this charge, nor did I give her a payment at the time of pickup, nor did I sign the receipt. So she consciously: 1. Went back to her account records 2. Copied my credit card information 3. Placed a transaction ILLEGALLY I will be following up with the BBB as well for her actions. read more

I had a wonderful experience taking my wedding dress here for alterations. They were lovely, listened to what I want, and my dress is perfect. They removed sleeves and shortened them and kept the original hem on them. They even used my extra fabric to make me a mask! And the price was super reasonable. read more

My go-to spot for dry cleaning and alterations for the last five years. New owner now but same trusty employees who have never let me down. I was blessed with a winning personality and cursed with the body of a ten year old boy (I'm a middle aged woman). I've had jackets, dresses, you-name-it altered to fit here and suddenly I look like a tailor made cheerleader-model-or-something-pretty. My boyfriend's clothes often eat more than he does and when I pick them up from these folks his clothes are always as good as new! They have always come through and when the job was too crazy they've been honest about what the outcome might be. I moved away from Montclair two years ago but still make the 1/2 hour to hour journey to bring our clothes here. :) read more

I've been coming here for the past 2 years and the service is excellent. My shirt's always come back with buttons. Had my suit altered last week and they were ready on time. Tried them on and fits perfectly. The pricing was fair, I can trust my clothes always come back clean. Owner was so sweet, she made me a custom mask for free. Definitely my favorite cleaner. read more

Oh they do such a great job with alterations here. I brought my dress to be hemmed and the lovely woman who works here made it perfect and even made me a face mask that matches my dress out of the extra fabric. I found this gesture so thoughtful that I almost cried. I will definitely be bringing more items here in the future. read more

I've been going here for over 10 years! The owners are so sweet! They do an amazing job with alterations and dry cleaning!

The staff are very pleasant, professional, and friendly. I am always greeted with a smile and small talk. They take very good care of my garments and have offered me advice and how to care for items that they normally do not handle. Price is reasonable and you can find parking in the adjacent Lucky's lot. I trust them with all my laundering and dry cleaning needs! read more

This place deserves 6 stars! It is the epitome of what every business should aspire to be. - Service is excellent: very friendly but still professional - They are very good at what they do: tailoring and dry cleaning - Prices are reasonable for the quality, speed, and service - They do what it takes to exceed expectations I took a pair of designer jeans here to get hemmed. They charged me 15 bucks and did a beautiful job--absolutely perfect. Not only that, but they fixed a hem along the crotch area that was slowly unraveling--without my asking them--and didn't charge me a penny extra for it! They didn't even mention it--I just happened to notice when I tried them on for the first time. I will definitely be back here regularly. I'm so happy to have found them, and so close to where I live, too! read more

My favorite (and expensive!) pair of jeans were wearing out at the knee cap until finally, one large tear. Just as I was about to throw them out, I was suggested to try Lucky Center Cleaner. I couldn't believe how WELL the staff worked to save my jeans. They patched the tear with excellent threading, ultimately saving me $200 on a new pair. What they did to fix my jeans, I didn't even think was possible! Lily, the owner, is also amazing and so sweet. They really take the time to listen to you and your specific needs. I've had such a great experience that I have since returned to get all my alterations and dry cleaning done at this place. They are the best, really :) read more

Wow! Took a pair of jeans here for an original denim hem. I'm always nervous about taking jeans someplace new because you can really screw up a denim hem- and once you do it usually isn't fixable. Best original denim hem that I hav ever had anywhere! Better and less expensive than my old tailor in San Francisco. Bring your jeans here! You will be very happy you did! read more

Lily and staff are absolutely fabulous, always friendly and professional. Clothes come out so fresh and so clean, and are always done when promised. Bonus: they remember me every time I go in! Oh and btw, Lily = THE BEST ALTERATIONS! I even have family members who know how to sew, but I won't go to anyone else. She always knows what I want and the look I want to achieve. Lily is amazing with hemming denim and pants so it doesn't even look like they've been altered. There are other cleaners in the Village, but now that you've tried the rest, go to the best!! read more

I had a friend's wedding to go to on a Saturday and needed alterations done for my suit. Like any professional procrastinator, I waited until the very last minute to do any research on tailors around the Piedmont area in Oakland. Luckily, I found Lucky Center Cleaner the Friday afternoon before the wedding. I called 2 hours before closing and explained my situation; they told me to come right in. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Lily and got my measurements done. She assured me that my suit would be ready the very next day! I came back the next morning to find my suit finished and nicely pressed. I highly recommend Lucky Center Cleaner for their prompt and professional services. I'll definitely be visiting again. read more

I love the ladies of Lucky Center Cleaners. Best customer service, so friendly and cheerful. They haven't made a mistake with my account or items in 6 years, but if it ever happens I totally trust this business to make it right. I've brought countless items here over the years: dresses, sweaters, blazers, scarves, coats, duvets. Lots and lots and lots of wool and silk. Items come back nice and neat and clean. There is never starch overspray or wrinkles. I've also brought items in for mending, tailoring, refashioning, and hemming. The quality of the work is very good and the turn around time is quick. Best of all I get good advice here, like the time I brought in some suede leggings and they said "they aren't dirty enough, cleaning costs a lot and it will cause the item to fade, can you wait a little longer? It will extend the life of the leggings." That is professional customer service. read more
