Stopped by Friday morning and was greeted with friendly smiles and help opening the door. The owners sorted through my items and gave me an estimated price. They also offered me a discount because it was my first time there. The owner wanted to make sure I understood that the linen quilt may be wrinkly, and I was like, "I hope so!" Ha! We also discussed pick-up time. They noted they could get the items to me later that day, but I told them I might have a meeting and asked if I could pick up the next morning. They were very accommodating. Upon pick-up, all of my items were ready and packaged beautifully. I was so happy to have a freshly laundered bed without the headache. A quick note: the hours on Yelp are their typical hours, but they've adjusted them during the pandemic. Friday, they were open 9 AM- 3 PM.

So I decided enough was enough I needed to find a reliable and reasonably priced tailor. First time I came here I came to get my skirts tailored and hemmed. I had bought the pair online and have never been able to wear them for years. Tina walked me through how she planned to cut, resize, replace the zipper, etc this gave me a better idea of cost and labor on her end. For the amount of work she did. The price is reasonable and fair. Picked up the skirts to try them on and they were perfect!! I came back again with leather pants that were too big for me. Again she walked me through the process - what parts she could resize and not resize. Explained the pockets in the back were too close to each other for her to make the waist smaller. Instead she only hemmed the length and it was still a good fit for me. Value was still good for the work she did. I will be back with many pants for them to hem. I appreciate the honesty and explanation she gives before doing the work. Would recommend their tailoring services!

I found myself putting it off every weekend, and while I wasn't in risk of running out of clean clothing, my laundry baskets were still overflowing regardless. Now, I've come across Family Laundry awhile back, but in all honestly, I avoided them because they don't use the typical scented laundry detergent, fabric softener, etc. That's how I usually prefer my laundry and how I was raised. However, after using another service, that did offer the scented products, I was given a hefty bill, which didn't surprise me, esp since they made it a point to not advertise and only gave me an estimate after I reached out, and clothing that smelled like dirty washer machine water. I can't even begin to explain the scent, but needless to say, I was pissed (feel free to check my prior reviews for that one). When I started research for a new laundry service, I couldn't deny that Family Laundry had amazing reviews on Yelp, Reddit, etc. So I figured it was worth a shot. My clothes are cleaner and smell fresher, cleaner and are softer. This was amazing, especially because I was initially avoiding them due to their using non scented cleansers. My clothing, towels, and bedding were all returned to me, nicely folded, dry, and in pristine condition. Family Laundry will be my go-to for now on and I feel foolish for avoiding them in the first place! If you're like me and prefer scented, commercial laundry cleaners, please give your laundry a chance here! Great service that I would recommend to everyone!

I've been coming to Alameda Launderland with my family for years, but our experience with the…read moreevening attendant on September 18 was extremely upsetting. Around 9:30 PM, my dad needed additional change to finish drying our laundry. The attendant told him the change machine was turned off after 9:30. Although she eventually helped him, her tone was unnecessarily rude and condescending. Around 9:55 PM, I watched her assist another customer with change without displaying the same attitude toward him. Later, while I waited to retrieve clothes from a dryer, the attendant continued changing a trash bag directly in front of it without acknowledging me. She only moved after another customer spoke up. The biggest issue involved the laundry carts. Twice, she took a cart I was actively using, despite approximately eight or more other carts being available and nobody waiting for one. When I questioned why this was necessary, she cited a "new rule" from the owner and mentioned that the owner monitored the cameras. When I expressed that I felt singled out by how aggressively the rules were being enforced, she told us that if we were the "type of people" who thought we were above the rules, we should go somewhere else. That comment was particularly upsetting. We weren't asking for special treatment or exemptions from the rules. We simply expected to be treated respectfully. By the time we finished our laundry, I was physically shaking with anger and holding back tears. I've generally had positive experiences with the other attendants over the years, which made this incident especially disappointing. UPDATE -- October 2026 (3 stars): Following my review, the owner personally reached out, apologized, and confirmed that my concerns had been reviewed and addressed with the employee involved. Management also assured me that expectations regarding the cart policy would be clarified with staff. I've since returned and had a much better experience with another attendant, who was courteous and helpful. However, the employee involved in my original complaint wasn't working that day, so I cannot yet speak to whether her behavior has improved. I'm raising my rating from 1 to 3 stars to acknowledge management's responsiveness and efforts to address my concerns. My original experience still stands, but I also believe in giving credit where it's due.

They gave me a one week pickup date and everything was ready right on time. When I came back for my items, I was impressed.
