I am having a clothing emergency and I'm hoping some kind soul will have pity and allow me to pay them $100 to come in after closing 12/27 or before Noon on Sunday 12/28 so that I can pick up my one and only suit for a four day NYE gig at Peppermill in Reno. I really blew it. For a drummer my timing is terrible. My review is that the people working your counter treated me with kindness and respect. Wow!!!! Mountain Dry Cleaners is incredible! I brought in my favorite cashmere sweater with a big moth hole, and I was sure it was ruined. They worked their magic and the repair is flawless, you'd never know there was any damage. The service was fast, friendly, and so reasonably priced for the quality of work. I'm scratching my head about the low number of reviews here for Mountain Cleaners, because they are constantly BUSY. Nevertheless, they deserve their just due, a current just due. Over the last three or so years I have had at least two dozen items altered here, and not one has EVER needed to be returned for a correction. They might be a dollar or two more expensive than other local spots, but I have definitely gotten what I've paid for and unlike the other cleaners I slammed in another Yelp review, their service is very courteous and equitable. Everyone pays the same price for similar garments. Notable: Go green with their reusable clothes/garment bags for only $3, a real bargain for the conscientious consumer. And although I rarely dry clean these days, I never smell residual solvent in the storefront. I'm pretty sure they send most items out, but cheap solvents are pungent long after the cleaning is complete so I take it as a good sign that my sensitive olfactory system isn't bothered at all while I'm having my clothes sized. I pass countless dry-cleaners on my way here, but my short trip out of the way is well worth making. read more

I do not enjoy writing unfavorable reviews for locally owned businesses, particularly those in my direct vicinity. As local citizens, we want to see local businesses thrive as it positively impacts all parties. With that said, I had an unfortunate experience at this dry cleaner, particularly with one of the owners who does not know what she's doing and blatantly lied to my face. We spent $180 to get a dress cleaned. It seemed like a simple ask as it was dust and dirt, and nothing more. Went back to retrieve and it was partially cleaned and still notably dirty. So I requested they try again. A week later, the staff advised the owners did not repeat and would like to speak with me directly about the cleaning the following week. So I came back and they simply said that's the best they could do and no discount offered. They should've perhaps advised upfront that they might not be able to do the job instead of confidently state a crazy price and be back in a week. There's a wonderful dry cleaner across the street next to the vet and BofA that I discovered after this unpleasant experience. Highly encourage you take your biz elsewhere to avoid a time and money suck without the proper service rendered. read more

Best dry cleaner - best alterations - outstanding customer service. Since I moved across the country 7 years ago, they have altered no less than 60 items, from prom dresses and tuxedos to suits and simple dresses, with quick turn around times. Their work is nearly flawless, and the one instance where something was not quite right, it was acknowledged and addressed immediately with a quick apology and commitment to getting it right - which they did - immediately. One of the fascinating things about service management, is that a service provider who makes a mistake and recovers well (quickly and with accountability) generates more loyalty with customers than had they never made a mistake in the first place. Do NOT bring your clothes here for tailoring, alterations or cleaning. I bought 3 new business suits from Nordstroms, and brought them to Mountain Cleaners for alterations because I needed them done in a hurry. Mountain Cleaners was supposed to shorten the sleeves of the suit jackets. In moving the buttons, they cut out the existing buttons and left 1/2 in HOLES in the sleeves of the jackets! When I pointed this out to them, they said that those holes had been there when I brought them in. That's totally crazy! One of the ladies there said, "I swear to GOD I did not make those holes, to GOD." Oh- and one of the sleeves of one jacket was a full inch shorter than the other one. They did a terrible job altering my suits. All 3 suit jackets were ruined. I would never use this place again. read more

This place saved the day. Horrible Crown Cleaners around the corner from here nearly ruined one of my favorite skirts, and Mountain came to the rescue with a reasonably priced ($13) beadwork repair and press. They're Korean but always have somebody that speaks sufficient English around and they definately know what they are doing. read more

I brought my blouse in for dry cleaning and they completely ruined it - telling me it was my fault that my blouse was so old. I had never had any problems having it dry cleaned anywhere else!! They also promised to have my dress ready the next day, BEFORE 4pm, but I had to come up at closing to pick it up. The staff is only friendly since they want your business but they over promise and under deliver. Won't be going back there again. read more

But I think it's not fair that this place is getting such a negative rap. I've come here now for more than a year and they are friendly and efficient. Mountain Cleaners has been one of the best dry cleaners I've ever used. Friendly, attentive store staff and management. They're honest about whether they can remove that stain -- or not. Most often, they CAN get it out. The clothes come back spotless, crisply pressed, and looking like a million bucks. Mountain Cleaners is HORRIBLE! I had a difficult situation that required a high quality cleaners so I chose Mountain Cleaners because of the Yelp reviews. My two cats were urinating on my beautiful white living room couch and I was planning a large family reunion at my home in two weeks. I called Mountain Cleaners and asked if they were able to clean the stain and smell of cat urine from couch covers. The person I spoke to assured me that they had successfully cleaned comforters and blankets that were soiled by cat urine. I brought in the couch covers and was told that it would take a few days because of the additional cleaning process. It took several days beyond the pick up date before the covers were ready and it cost $85. When I got home, I noticed the urine smell was as strong as before and two of the three covers still had stains and looked like they hadn't been cleaned. It took me and a friend to get the cushion in the large cushion cover and when we were able to finally get the zipper closed, the cushion looked like an overstuffed sausage and was about two thirds the original size. I was irate! I went to the cleaners, told the woman on duty about the covers and asked to speak to the owner. She called the owner but he "was with a customer" and would have to call me back. Needless to say, he never called me. Finally, I received a call from the woman at the cleaners and she said that the owner was busy and wanted me to come into the cleaners the next business day with the cushion covers to "prove" that they had shrunk. I brought in the cushion and, after a heated encounter with the person representing the owner, she said that they would clean the covers again to stretch them. There was no way they could have stretched the large cover back to its original size. I demanded my money back and left. In the meantime, I contacted an upholsterer to make a new cover that would blend with the couch because I had to have a couch my relatives could sit on for the reunion. This cost me $350 all because of the cleaners' incompetence. This is a terrible cleaners and so are the people who work there. read more

DO NOT use these people for any of your cleaning needs! i took three t-shirts in there to be dry cleaned. They all had printing on them. They came back and one of them (the black one) had a white cloudy substance smeared all over the front. I noticed when they were handed to me that all three were together in the same bag and the black one was in the middle so any flaws wouldn't be noticed when I received them. I went back and explained that it wasn't like that when I brought it in and the lady at the desk said she would have to talk to the boss but she also agreed that those marks were not there when I brought it in. I went back a week later and the lady said that the company they use to do their cleaning says it was there already. I told them that THEY at the shop agreed it wasn't there. I told them I wanted a cash refund of $25.00 for ruining my shirt. The lady said she couldn't do that but could give me a store credit. As if I would ever take any more clothes to them? I took the store credit because it was better than nothing. If you have any clothing that is sentimental or is worth anything, DON'T take it to Mountain Cleaners!!!! They will ruin it and then try to say it was already there. LIARS!!! read more
