Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. We came for lunch and had the most beautiful and relaxing beach-side meal. Nothing beats this view--I could've stayed for hours. I wasn't too hungry, so I just ordered a simple salad with a vinaigrette. It was exactly what I was looking for--perfectly light and fresh. The burrata was also fantastic. The service was great. No notes--perfect meal!
Le Galet was a pleasant lunch. It took time to be served our drinks and to get the bill, but it was busy so this was understandable. The restaurant was clean and looked very nice even though it was open air. The grilled octopus and Niçoise salad were so fresh and delicious; must orders! We enjoyed our experience, but Nice has such amazing food. Le Galet is nice, but not the top restaurant in town.
A super overwhelming meal. First off, we thought we reserved a spot where we could lay out and lounge while we tried their food/drinks offerings. Turns out the resy my friend made was for the restaurant. Our gemini server did a great job taking care of us. We were not warned that the portion size was gargantuan. It ended up working out since I rented a boat for the second half of our day so we took all the leftovers which they were nice enough to pack up for us. We ended up laying out right next to the restaurant where a bunch of folks were tanning. It's not all that comfortable with the tiny pebbles surrounding the beach. It didn't matter how thick your towel was, laying on tiny rocks is mot comfortable. Great vibes, good food and views for days.
I would highly recommend making a reservation if you'd like the visit Le Galet! We were fortunate enough that there was a table for 2 available, despite not having a reservation - but it wasn't one of the beautiful corner tables or tables immediately next to the beach!!! Alas, beggars can't be choosers and we were so so fortunate to have been squeezed in!! I was really impressed by the entire experience! From the service to the layout of the restaurant, you really are dining under the stars and with the calming sounds of the waves crashing against the shoreline. To add to the ambiance, there was a live DJ playing awesome tunes, which added to the vibes that you would expect during the summertime in the Côte d'Azur. Their wine menu has a wide selection to choose from, and the food menu was manifique!!! There are options for pizzas, tronchettos, focaccias, pastas and entrees!! My highlights from the menu were: * Ceviche de Sériole aux Pêches et Nectarines; and * Linguine aux Fruits des Mer.

And then on to a Bufala Mozzarella Pizza avec championes (mushrooms). They had no issues with the modification. And then tuna sashimi. So delicious. And we finished with the tarte du citron (lemon tart) which was also rich and delicious. Overall, a fantastic choice for our last dinner in Nice. Beware of tiny things not noted on the menu such as the sashimi came with an arugula salad with a pile of tomatoes that I am allergic to. We had a very windy evening and the seas were volatile but gorgeous to watch from inside. For Americans, beware the indoor smoking. The winds blew the smoke away on this night but this can be a real turnoff for me at mealtime.
For the quintessential beachside dining experience in the south of France, Le Galet has to be one of the top options. I came by on Saturday at 8pm as other good options were full. Expecting to be rebuffed as well, I was seated immediately with amazing views of the blue coast. What I didn't know was that the views were about to improve even more as this is apparently the hot spot for professional and instagram models. After feasting my eyes on the calm blue waters and relaxing in what's basically a luxury cabana, who could blame them. Here, good looking young people served the pretty, young, and rich people and a lot of retired folks like me, very much like Scottsdale or Miami. The service was quite courteous, considering their accommodation for my lack of French. I did see a few mistakes made on other orders, but they were quickly rectified. For a real performance, order the whole fish, where it's deboned and served as fillets at your table side. I got a cheese pizza for an appetizer and a fruits de mer linguini. I paired both with their top vin de verre white. The pizza came with a crispy crust and a generous layer of cheese. The linguini was just passable, reminding me that I'm in France, not Italy. The mussels and clams were quite overcooked and minuscule. Overall, it was a beautiful two hours until sundown, showing me exactly why people have been flocking here to summer for centuries. For all of that, it's amazingly cheap. A plate and a drink is about $40-45 per person all in. I will definitely be back when I'm in Nice again.
We enjoyed our first lunch here while staying at the attached beach club for the day. We both had pasta with seafood, my wife with clams and me with a nice array of seafood (clams, mussels, squid, and a variety of others). The beer and wine menus are rather limited, but perfectly fine by quality. They bring bread and olives immediately, and we found the olive oil and balsamic vinegar were very nice, especially the vinegar with its strong spicy notes. Wonderful food, and almost (but not quite) too much food. We came back for lunch the next day, following a long walk on a warm and humid day. The breezy beach front, with a lot of umbrellas, was a nice and relatively cool respite. This time we shared a shrimp salad and a Margherita pizza, a couple of beers, a mohito (for her) and another beer (for me). The salad was fine, but with only two shrimp. The pizza, however, disappeared before our eyes! Very nice. We are staying in the beach club again tomorrow, and will certainly have lunch here, again.
Le Galet was a delightful little restaurant on the water in Nice. When we got there at 6 PM to have a drink, they were closed but had staff there so we made a reservation for 7 PM when they opened again and decided to do a long French dinner not rushing anything. We started with cocktails, getting a Mojito, sex on the beech, galet spritz, and the pornstar martini. We thought the martini was the better of those drinks. I want to make a note of the olives they brought out as I really liked them. They gave us bread (and butter on request) with a pitcher of water and a bucket of ice. This is the most ice I've gotten from any restaurant in Europe, I really like ice. Then we ordered dinner. I need to say, THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE. I wished we'd only ordered 2 meals instead of 4 as we weren't able to finish it all and could have saved some money. We got the Lobster pasta, white truffle pizza, burrata, and what they called the prime rib but seemed like a ribeye. All the food was good, but the pizza was really fantastic and the best of the 4 plates. We liked our server and found him to be attentive and easily accessible when we wanted him. It was a pricey meal but really an enjoyable experience.
We had a wonderful lunch at Le Galet today. It was a bit overcast but was still nice to have a meal by the ocean. We got here at around noon and was able to get a table. I got a rose lemonade (non-alcoholic) to start--it's basically a raspberry lemonade with some mint. It was so refreshing! I got the Pizza Reine, which has ham and mushrooms. There was enough to share with one or two others, depending how hungry everyone is. My hubby got the Niçoise salad, which looked much better than the one he had last night for dinner. The tuna was actual seared chunks of tuna versus tuna salad. He said it was different but very delicious. This is the perfect spot for a drink or some food as you walk the promenade. You can also get chairs in their private beach but I am sure you need to order food, drinks and such.

I visited Le Galet on my first night in Nice and wow it was the perfect introduction to the South of France. I arrived around sunset time so the beach was beautiful. There was a little wait time so my friends and I went down to their beach club to wait. We were offered drinks while waiting and were able to sit down on the chair beds. We were quickly called up to be seated. Everyone was super friendly! There were so many good options on the menu but I ended up getting the tuna tartare pasta... I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was delicious! Everyone was super friendly and we got amazing recommendations by their staff. Le Galet was beautiful and I would definitely come back! I'd love to try them out during the day and book a beach bed! read more
We went to this restaurant because of the reviews that I saw on Yelp! I highly recommend this Le Galet. whether it's daytime or night time. It is very romantic. The scenery is incredible. The food was fantastic as was the wine. Interesting fact you're allowed to bring your dogs into this restaurant and let them sit on your lap while you're eating in this restaurant! read more
This place is in a great location on the water. But that is the best I can say about it. We ordered cocktails at $16 each, pizza and a salad. We were told we had to order another food item since there were 3 of us. Never had that happen before, maybe its just how they treat tourists. Once we ordered didnt get any service. Had to keep flagging someone down for water and finally to pay. Food was just okay and drinks sugary and watered down. Luckily, the only bad dining experience we had in Nice the 10 days we we there. read more

The food was amazing! Service was fantastic and the restaurant was beautiful. We passed a lot of beach restaurants on our way, but I'm glad we passed them all. The other great thing was being able to sit on the chairs on the beach after your meal and have a drink. read more

Incredible lunch with the quite possibly the best view and setup in Nice. Make sure you come hungry, because their portions are huge. I ordered the cacio e Pepe and my fiancée ordered the Caesar salad and we could've easily split one of them and both been full. Nevertheless, the food and service was fantastic. read more

Down from the street level to the beach, with plenty of sunbathers toward the shore, once seated service was pretty quick, food was good and of big serving. I enjoyed the focaccia with burata the most. Seafood pasta was so so, frito misto was good although on the over fried side. read more

A perfect spot to celebrate our first night in Nice. Beautiful view of the sea - get there for first seating so you don't miss sunset. Servings are huge, plan to share with your party. Clams and Linguini is a winner. read more

Sometimes I guess we just need to take a risk. I had been on this beach bed rental places for a couple of days but was afraid of ordering the seafood pasta. I was afraid this kind of beachfront place can be too overpriced and the good reviews can be just for the view. I am glad i took the risk and ordered the dish on the last day. It was probably the best seafood pasta I had in #nicefrance and the best I had over the past few years. Large, fresh seafood that cooked almost perfectly. The mussels and clams are tender and juicy, with the nice fresh taste - no rubbery texture nor it was small meat out of big shell. The tomato has been always excellent here - it is not the watered down taste like what we usually have in the US, tangy, sweet, and naturally refreshing Tomate taste. The sauce made with such tomatoes was also seasoned well. If I had to nitpick, homemade pasta and more clean prawn will make it to the real 5 stars. Definitely a place to come back to spend a day. But overall the food and service is 4.5 stars. Service is quite nice here - the food and drink services. 5 stars. But not for the beach bed reservation Service. Not about the food, the only thing I don't like about here is the beach bed reservation system does not really work as it should be: they kept removing my names and reservations. This is why I decided to give this place a 4 star. read more

Beach club, efficient service if the server weren't a bit harried. Need reservations for dinner during peak months. Great to see the sunset with your meal. Portions gigantic, typical beach fare, pastas, seafood, pizzas. Family and friends feel. read more
We were attracted to Le Galet, because it was on the non smoking beach. The ladies at the entrance were very friendly, and got us set up with two chairs, an umbrella and towels. We got settled, with a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean. We were excited to learn that we could order drinks and food from our relaxing chairs. The chairs were very cushioned, and comfy. We ordered cocktails, water, and a pizza to share. They have cute guys who take and deliver the orders. They have a great system going. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on our last day in Nice at Le Galet. read more

Directly on the water you can rent a chair and umbrella to hang out on the beach, or stop in for drinks, or grab some grub. I have been to a couple of places on the beach in my travels to Nice and I have to say this is not my favorite spot, but it's OK. We stopped for before dinner drinks and found they serve wine by the bottle only, not by the glass. So we shared a bottle. As with all the spot right on the beach, your bill will reflect your location. I'm not sure why, but we were not allowed to sit on the water side of the restaurant and were put in a corner in the back. There did appear to be a number of spaces closer to the water but there you have it. Perhaps our attire was not up to standards? Just not sure. The seat was comfortable enough but the view was pretty dismal as they have large pots and plants between where they seated us and the ocean/beach. So that was a big negative. Once we received our drinks we never saw the waiter again. So that is not in their favor either. Check out their website for prices on beach chairs and such. Be sure to dress appropriately (just in case), and perhaps get there a bit early for your before dinner drinks so you can get a spot by the water. read more

Le Galet is one of many restaurants located on the beach just off the Promenade des Anglais. There are lots of options for similar dining, but based on my experience here I would recommend this restaurant, as we were seated right away, everyone we interacted with was friendly, and the food was delicious. The menu seemed a bit pricey, but seemed comparable to the other restaurants on the beach. We had a nice bottle of rose from Provence (for 28 euro) to go with my spaghetti with clams, and my husband's salmon asparagus pasta. We both enjoyed these dishes, but agreed we liked the spaghetti with clams better. It comes out on a very LARGE plate, however I was able to finish almost the entire thing. The spaghetti is in a light olive oil sauce so it's not a heavy dish like some pastas might be. The salmon pasta came with a thicker noodle and creamy sauce, but could have used a bit more flavor or seasoning. As we watched main courses and desserts being brought out, we noticed the portions do seem especially large here, so make sure you know how much food you are ordering and whether or not you might share a dish or dessert. Take your time to enjoy the nice ocean views and breeze while dining here! read more
We lounged here on the beach all day. I liked the chairs and the easy access to the beach. You pay about 20€ for each chair and 5€ for an umbrella. The food here is way better than the competitor restaurants and lounge areas we went to. Good service. I'd go back to this one! read more
