Le Dish Asian Fusion is the third or forth iteration of a restaurant specializing in cuisine from Japan, China and Thailand at this location. The others survived for the length of their leases and went belly up promptly thereafter. The location in a small, poorly maintained strip mall deep in Hamilton Square, NJ, was a big part of the problem. It wasn't that the kitchen wasn't good, it was more that they could not attract enough business. The shop is under new ownership now, and we must hope that they can make it there, because from what I have eaten, the food is very good. I stopped in earlier this week when nearby on other matters. The décor is still dark, modern and ultra cool. The sushi bar sits halfway back between dining area and kitchen. Staff is friendly and accommodating. My server, Sharon, was engaging and knowledgeable. As she was speaking Mandarin with the other workers, I knew that this was first a Chinese oriented house, and the skills of the chef would determine the effort made on the three cultures represented on the menu. Still, it was best to start with the Chinese offerings, and go from there. Their lunch menu offered a main course with soup and rice at $8.50. A buck for tea, and it was easy to reach a $10 lunch. Reasonable if the quality was there. The orange beef I requested was surprisingly good. Thin slices of meat in a light coating which provided a mild crunch. The sauce was sweet and tart, but not overly thick; a good thing. The mix included green pepper, carrots slivers, scallion, Szechuan red pepper and chunks of mango. The mandatory broccoli florets were also present. The flavor was excellent and the overall taste, delicious. I also scored on the Yelp check in bonus of spring rolls, which were fine. The wonton soup's consommé was light and fresh, and the wontons fairly thin skinned with a decent pork filling. If their Japanese and Thai dishes are as good as what I tried on the Chinese list, the people of the area are in for a real treat. So often, Asian fusion efforts are more exercises in confusion. That may not be the case here, which is an exciting prospect. I will return to sample the other elements on the menu, anticipating that Le Dish may be the real deal. Came on a whim the other night and I was wowed. This place is the real deal. Excellent roast pork wonton soup. Just like Chinatown. Chili shrimp had jumbo prawns with a carry of great veggies like asparagus and zucchini. Flavor was spot on. The staff is very friendly and extremely accommodating. I'm going back for Peking Duck. I would suggest maybe adding a dim sum made to order menu. Maybe a few different things just to be different then the norm in this area. read more

We also ordered the shrimp pad Thai which was sub par from other restaurants. The best part was the tofu. The sauce was weird and not even typical pad Thai. The miso soup was amazing! Probably the best I've had in a while! Now.. the bad news.. my stomach was totally upset that evening and my fiancé was too~~. Reminds me of comfort food Grandfather's tofu - it's on the sweeter side for sure. Tasty, just too sweet for me. Not at all spicy. No veggies in this dish, just tofu. Came here on Saturday night, initially thought wow looks nice, until I saw those menus. The menus looked like they were reused from the previous Chinese food place before them, they tried to make it look all fancy but failed, if you just flipped to the back of the menu you can see that they scratched off the previous store, that's very unsettling to see tbh. We had got the fried calamari with spicy salt, it wasn't spicy whatsoever and it was just plain salty. Usually you'd get some kind of sauce with it but nope, you get nothing but a plate of lettuce... I had gotten the pineapple chicken but it had come out orange... is that normal? Because from other places where I had pineapple chicken, the sauce is always white and creamy, not orange and sour. Overall, it's not worth the money, go somewhere else like the Texas Roadhouse across the street. Edit: So apparently, whoever is spreading rumors/gossip about their customers, makes this place even worse. This is our go to Chinese and Japanese neighborhood restaurant. The sushi is pretty good for the area. Fresh and tasty. We also enjoy the Chinese food, especially the cashew chicken, lo mein, and grandfathers chicken. It is always ready quickly and piping hot. Just tried this place for the first time. I must say it was excellent!! It's a tad bit more than the other local Asian spots but it was clear after eating it they use far more superior product for their dishes. I tried a couple of my favorite dishes Beef Chow fun which is beef with wide rice noodles onions and scallions etc. and I had the Grandfather's Tofu which is their version of General Tso's Tofu. This hands down the best Chinese food in the Hamilton area. They're not even in a different league than the rest of the competition, they're not even playing the same game. Everything I've ever ordered here is fresh and delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and the overly oily/salty characteristics lesser kitchens employ to hide their lack of quality or skill is decidedly absent here. Despite Chinese clearly being the focus here, their sushi is also outstanding. The restaurant itself is very nicely appointed and is a peaceful and muted environment, but despite the welcoming environs it seems the majority of the business here is in take-out. While they work with some of the on-line delivery services, I suggest you call them directly for delivery (they will take credit card over the phone) to ensure that your money is going to the restaurant and not some billion-dollar corporation. Egg drop soup - $5 Spring roll - $2 Thai curry - $16 Small Fried rice - $6 Small lo mein- $7 Total = $36 Tax-ish - $2.25 Total $38.25?! Either I was overcharged or charged $10 for delivery!! Cause my total was $46 and change. Did I miss something?! Then we get to the actual food. Soup had no noodles for aa quart of soup. Thai curry the paste wasn't cooked through so was a gloopy mess and entirely too spicy. Lo mein and fried rice weren't bad but can you really mess those up?! Disappointed. Our first time trying Le Dish and it didn't disappoint! Everything was fresh and different which is what we were looking for! My family ordered Sushi Yellowtail Jalapeño sushi appetizer Cowboy roll Tuna Sashimi Lover Roll Volcano Roll Rainbow Roll Entrees Thai chicken pineapple rice Yaki chicken udon Sides Egg Rolls The Cowboy Roll and the Tuna Sashimi Roll were my fave. Fresh, slightly cooled and delicious my only complaint regarding the sushi rolls is that they weren't rolled tight enough and therefore fell apart when you lifted the roll off the plate which is rather annoying because the sushi was really good. I found the Volcano Roll disappointing because it was cooked and very warm (temp) and after rechecking my menu it doesn't say its cooked aka fake sushi so there was no way to know- I would suggest that the restaurant describe it as a warm/cooked sushi as they do with the other warm sushi items as I don't want sushi any temp other than chilled. I really enjoyed the Thai Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice it was delicious- I was surprised that it contained golden raisins & cashews but I found that I really enjoyed it, if you find the raisins too plentiful you can dodge them. The egg rolls were delicious and I was surprised that they weren't the same Ole same ole the wrap was lighter, fresher and crispy I could tell that these were made fresh. The Yaki Chicken Udon was fresh nicely seasoned and udon noodles were cooked perfectly. I will without a doubt be going back to LeDish! read more

Iv been searching for a good consistent Chinese and Japanese restaurant in the area for dine in and delivery. I cannot comment on their delivery but I can on their food.... I come from NYC where there are many choices so the competition and quality have to be on point. This place reminds me of NY quality food which is something I have not found in this surrounding area. My wife an I just returned home from our first visit to Le Dish. We were impressed with the decor, ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant. Started with fried pork dumplings which were outstanding. Also had the 3 mini crab cakes which were scrumptious. A bowl of won ton soup (pork) was perfectly seasoned. For entrees we has shrimp pad thai and lemon chicken with a side of pork fried rice. We have been to several Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia and NY and can say without reservation, Le Dish is one of the best Chinese restaurants we've ever been too. We WILL be back, and have been back several times. One thing I need to comment on, Frankie the server was excellent. Since he is gone the service has been lacking a bit. They clearly need more staff, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. read more
