Zero stars! This place used to have great food, but they got sloppy and greedy. The quality of their food has considerably gone downhill. Chinese Food is no longer a cheap option, they keep raising prices. Their website directs you to DoorDash for online ordering and the prices are higher, even though you opt to pick up your food. Why am I paying more to pick up an order? I highly doubt I will be ordering from this place again. If you call them to place an order, they sound annoyed. Maybe that's why the website directs you to DoorDash so they don't have to deal with customers. I feel like they are hiding behind DoorDash and get pissed off when you directly call them for an order! Well, guess what? Just like they don't want to deal with me, I don't want to deal with them! This is the best Chinese food I've ever had. No matter what I get I always love it. I got wonton soup, general tsos chicken, popcorn shrimp and dumplings and they were all phenomenal. Good for bulk dinners on movie night or when you've got some hungry guests that you want to fill up but don't care about trying to impress. Service is brusk but efficient. Came here today for dinner and thought my food was slightly worse than OK. Decent amount of parking outside (the restaurant is part of a small strip mall) and the restaurant itself was small and well-kept, although I can't imagine sitting down and eating at the single table located pretty much in the middle of the ordering area. Just seems kind of awkward. I got the beef and broccoli and it was very affordable ($8 for a decent sized portion!) but unfortunately it was not very tasty. The cut of beef was very low quality, and the sauce was kind of sugary and nasty. The broccoli was fine and the rice was gummy but not too bad. They did include 3 fortune cookies, so that's kind of nice! Overall, I will not be back, despite how affordable the food was. read more

Another of the seemingly infinite number of Chinese/American houses that populate the heartland of North America. They all have the same menu. They all have the same recipes. They all taste basically the same. They all cater to the American conception that the cuisine of the Middle Kingdom must be goopy and sweet, or maybe a tad spicy for the adventurous. Great Wall has 2 tables and is basically a take out shop. Even if you eat there, you are handled the take out containers and a cheap plastic fork. Ok. We get it. You really don't want people to hang around. That must be because in this particular chop suey emporium, the mamasan is always yelling at the staff in Mandarin, as if we can't hear her because she is speaking a foreign tongue. Wish it were so, but everyone waiting for their food is abused by her lashing tongue. No need to return to Great Wall with every other Chinese/American kitchen ready to provide the exact same things...without the verbal assault. read more

Horrible customer service. Waited outside an hour and the worker didn't even apologize. Worker said everyone has been waiting an hour! Two hours from time online order was placed. Order was paid online but they never received it! If I hadn't stepped up to the door 3 times I'd still be waiting for their call. Told them to keep the food. Errors made in delivery orders and they wanted the opened food back! Not sanitary. They never answer the phone. They refused to correct their errors nor make things right. Very rude. Bad choice. Have gotten food here a few times and it was OK. They are almost the only Chinese takeout spot in Hamilton that is open during the pandemic. Early on they seemed to be very careful about taking precautions but today I went in there and none of the employees were wearing masks. They had masks but they were handing down around their chins. I turned around and left. I know it's hot in there and wearing a mask all day is not pleasant but I don't need Chinese food so bad that I want to eat food from someplace with such a casual attitude about health issues. read more

The food is mediocre "Chinese" food - but service and courtesy is certainly less than "average" for an establishment like this. Every time I call and/or pick up my order, a few thoughts: 1. No matter what time estimate is given, I end up waiting an additional 10 minutes to pick up my food. 2. I always end up leaving the establishment/hanging up the phone after placing my order with a sense that an apology or gushing of appreciation from my side was expected to whomever I spoke with. Kind of like that the restaurant is doing me a huge favor taking my order or cooking my meal for me. Ordered take out for 5. Fast delivery. I wasn't expecting much but hoped it was edible . To my delight the food was good. I always order the same thing from Chinese restaurants so I have had these basic items at many many Chinese restaurants and this rates up there with my favorites. Shrimp rolls were nice and crispy on the outside and fresh and tasty in the inside. Fried wings were extremely good. They were perfectly seasoned and they had a nice thin crispy texture. Would leave zero stars if I could because they borderline ruined me and my boyfriend's Christmas. I placed an order online and immediately received a confirmation and thought nothing of it. I've gone to other, competent restaurants and have had no problem with the service so I thought that this would be no different but boy was I wrong. We ended up waiting (ON CHRISTMAS) for over an hour just for them to take my boyfriend's phone behind the counter and refused to give it back, told us our order was never started, and said to just "wait because we'll start it right now". They could not have been ruder or more disrespectful. Take your money elsewhere where they treat people with a little bit of dignity, would never come here again. I cannot emphasize enough how poorly we were treated. This isn't just an isolated incident if you look at the other reviews. Admit to getting food here quite a bit because of location. Nothing spectacular, but ok shrimp fried rice or lo mein or steamed dumplings.

Given the area this is one of the better chinese take-out places. Make sure to order beef and broccoli in black bean sauce with plain fried rice. Its not on the menu but you won't be dissappointed. read more
