Steamed Dumpling
Indy S.

Very disappointing, was in the mood for Chinese and I usually go to Roots in Princeton for anything Asian, thought I'd check out a Yelp recommendations. Checked out their menu, called and ordered a Sichuan beef and steamed noodles. Quick order, and friendly staff, food was also hot. Unfortunately, that's where the compliments stop. The dumpling were very doughy, not a thin dough, but almost as if you attempted to make steamed dumplings at home and it didn't go quite right. The Sichuan beef is tasteless, which I could have handled, however, the meat is also poor quality. The combination makes for a complete waste, although I'm tempted to call them and ask for my money back, I think I'd just save myself the frustration. I don't recommend this restaurant, and although I'm all for supporting local businesses, I'd usually give them another go, but it really is that bad. The thought of the food is making my stomach.... Eat at your own risk. To the owner: get your stuff together, and figure out what is wrong with the system in place. Your past ratings were high, what's happened over the past 3 months?

It's your basic Chinese restaurant. Quick and cheap. We got wayyyy more than enough food for 3 people and it was like $35.

Good food, not the typical sweet americanized Chinese crap. We order take outs from this place regularly and food is always good.

Totally fine for delivery especially if you are looking for mediocre American Chinese. A little salty but just totally fine:)

When I first noticed this new Indian spot on Yelp I didn't realize it occupied the same location as…read morea very good Polish spot. In spite of good reviews and a second change in decor, that business was not able to survive very long. As I walked in to pick up my order I had mixed feelings. Sad about the fact that another very good and unique European restaurant was gone, and wondering about the future success of the new business. I noticed that the place had been painted and redecorated once again . This I guess could be called an Indian fusion house, offering many common dishes along with some I had not heard of. They also have Indo Chinese options. My first visit was so good that I thought I would return once more before reviewing. I tried the garlic naan and aloo paratha, both good to very good. The paratha was very thin and had a delicately spiced potato mixture inside, I wished there was more filling but enjoyed as it was. The chicken 65 tasted very good, but had too much sauce as I would have preferred the pieces of meat to be crispy. Chicken Radha was a rustic curry with about half of a bone in chicken. I loved this dish and the portion was 2 meals. Chicken biryani was equally tasty and came with very good raita. Chicken Manchow soup was new to me, think hot and sour soup and then add copious amounts of ginger and garlic. You have to like garlic to appreciate this soup, and I do and did! Service was friendly on both visits and orders were packed up very well, with additional onion, lime and peppers for the biryani and crispy noodles to top the soup with. A good friend went to dine in and had a great meal too, taking advantage of the all you can eat lunch Thali. I'm at about 4.5 stars for now....

Overall Ratings: Restaurant 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 4/5 Parking Free Atmosphere: The restaurant is very nicely decorated, clean, and open. Service: Our server was very friendly, answered all of our questions with professionalism, and came by a couple of times to make sure we were doing well and that our water was topped off. What We Ordered: (The menu is quite extensive with many items to try.) -Punjabi Samosa (Very good with just the right amount of spice. The dipping sauces were a great addition.) -Goat Biryani (The portion was very generous and it was delicious.) -Butter Chicken (It was good but could have been better. The chicken was just cut-up Tandoori chicken, and I would have preferred fresh chicken.) -Mango Lassi (It was good and refreshing.) Final Thoughts: I would definitely go again. The food we tried was very good, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly.

All of the above were true, and the food was quite good too. Each of us got a lunch special w/ Thai Basil Beef, and it was a good dish. I enjoyed the wonton soup and side of rice too, and it was a really great price for all of that. Service is pretty fast and friendly; the waiter switched our soup orders by accident, but when he came back to bring more stuff, he noticed when we had switched them, which I give him some credit for. Everything is nice and fast, no issues there. Inside, it's a pretty good amount of space, and nice decoration throughout. My friend and I both thought the door to get from the foyer into the restaurant had a really nice design. Everything in there is clean and nicely put together. Men's room was clean too - not very big, but good enough size.

Thus, while service was reasonable, a person shouldn't assume anything about anyone: not these days, nor any era. To give each customer the benefit of doubt is the most basic of refined manners. The food, however, is well prepared and fresh in quality. The restaurant does seem to cater towards a more elderly audience based on the presentation styles and music choices. While the vegetables and shrimp dishes were clearly fused from different cultures to some extent, the fried rice might have had a bit too much salt as diabetes is on the rise these days--so we tend to choose lighter salt in meals. The pricing could also be more reasonable for simple and traditional choices.
