Trying to score a seat at Friday Saturday Sunday on a whim is notoriously difficult, but my recent…read moreexperience as a solo walk-in proved that their hospitality is just as world-class as their kitchen. Despite the house being packed, the staff was incredibly accommodating from the second I walked through the door. While waiting for a spot to open up, they immediately ushered me into the bar area and took my drink order. The bar manager went out of her way to look after me, constantly checking in and reassuring me that a seat would turn over soon. True to her word, I was comfortably seated at the bar within 15 minutes. I opted for the full tasting menu with the wine pairing. Even though I was dining alone, the warmth of the staff meant I never felt isolated. The bartender looking after me was phenomenal--attentive, kind, accommodating, and just straight cool. The pacing was perfect, and the energy at the bar made the night. As for the meal itself, everything--and I mean everything--was excellent. Here is how the menu delivered: The Standouts: - Eggs and Caviar: A luxurious, flawless combination of potato, leek, and truffle that set an incredibly high bar right out of the gate. - Fusilli: Perfectly cooked pasta tossed with clams, a striking allium ash, and a deeply savory lobster sauce that had incredible depth. - Sweetbreads: Beautifully executed with mushroom, plantain, and a precise vin blanc. The touch of sweetness from the plantain was a brilliant contrast to the richness of the dish. - Fish Course: Flawlessly cooked fish paired with a sharp salsa verde, a complex sauce vin jaune, and served with a side of coco bread that was perfect for wiping the plate clean. - Koshihikari Rice: An absolute knockout. The texture of the premium rice combined with the subtle heat of aji dulce and the crunch of crispy mangalitsa pork was spectacular. - Grilled Short Rib: Meltingly tender, glazed in a rich oxtail jus with a hint of peanut that brought a unique, savory complexity to the finish. - Duck Egg Semifreddo: A vibrant, forward-thinking dessert utilizing mango, passion fruit, fig leaf, and tepache. It was exceptionally bright, balanced, and the perfect note to end on. The Verdict: Friday Saturday Sunday is easily one of the best dining experiences in Philadelphia. The food and wine pairings are operating at an elite level, but it is the elite, unpretentious hospitality that truly sets this place apart. Whether you are with a group or dining solo at the bar, it is a mandatory stop.

Literally one of the best meals I've ever had!…read more So this is definitely a splurge, it's expensive. But you are getting not only spectacular food, but exquisite service, a gorgeous and intimate environment and a long and lingering meal - they aren't rushing you out here, they want you to rest between courses and have an excellent experience. It's a set prix fix menu that changes regularly of seven courses plus an opening snack and two desserts. Portions are tiny but it adds up and you will not leave hungry! I am a vegetarian and they easily accommodated me with advanced notice. They also offer a wine pairing, which we skipped, but know friends have done it and said it was fabulous (but be forewarned... they give full pours so you will be very tipsy!). We saw some couples sharing a single wine pairing and that seemed like a smart idea. It's very hard to get a reservation- on the first of the month they open up reservations for the following month, and they go fast! It's on the second floor of an old townhouse so there are stairs to climb. The first floor is a bar with first come, first serve seating. At the bar they have a different menu with full sized portions. Can't wait to go back and try that out! Highly, highly recommend and I can't wait for an excuse to go back!

We visited True Food Kitchen in King of Prussia on Sunday, May 10, 2026 to celebrate Mother's Day…read moreas a Family. True Food is always a hit as the menu appeals to our entire family with a variety delicious foods, the restaurant clean and the service excellent. This visit delivered all of those great things that we are accustomed to experiencing at True Food with the addition of our Server Mario, who established a great rapport with each of us and provided outstanding recommendations and service. True Food always delivers on every level and keeps us coming back. Our thanks to True Food and Mario for making it a memorable Mother's Day. Nicely done, again.

I've been here several times and usually enjoy the experience, but this visit was very different…read moreand unfortunately disappointing. When we walked in, the main doors were out of service. The door behind me slammed shut, and the second door squeaked so loudly that I couldn't hear the host speaking to me. Not the best first impression. When we were about to be seated, the host initially placed us at a table. I politely asked if we could have a booth instead, and she looked visibly annoyed and said, "We don't have a booth set up," even though there were clearly open booths available. Our server also seemed annoyed and standoffish at first. I understand everyone can have a bad day, and she did eventually smile later on, but the initial interaction felt uncomfortable. As for the food: The avocado was very bland and we had to add salt. The Brussels sprouts were amazing (the highlight of the meal). My mother's chicken teriyaki was also bland. Our air-fried fries came out cold, though the server did replace them with a fresh batch. I've had good experiences here before, which is why this visit stood out in a negative way. You didn't hit the mark this time, True Food -- you might need some TRUE revisions.

It was late on a weeknight (7:45pm) and we were REALLY hungry. We had just been to a local business…read moremaking remodeling decisions so we were weary and bordering on hangry. We stopped in here looking for a drink and hopefully some bar food. Wow! We got so much more!! The food was absolutely outstanding. I'd say almost the best meatballs I've ever had, and I'm very picky about meatballs. They were tender and delicious and the sauce was fantastic! The short rib poutine was also incredible. The atmosphere was quiet and not crowded at all. Music playing was even a great playlist! Bartenders were friendly and attentive.

Went here with a client last week and enjoyed it!…read more Ambiance and service were good; the food was great! We shared the Crispy Brussel Sprouts ($12 - Hoisin glaze, Sesame Seeds, Nori, Wasabi Mayonaise) and i think these may very be one of the best brussels I've ever had. Wow; they definitely blew me away and I am going to try to emulate the recipe at home. Both of us ordered the giant Wagyu Truffle Burger ($27 - Half-Pound Wagyu Beef Patty, Fontina Cheese, Crisp Prosciutto, "Frizzled" Onion Rings, Arugula, Truffle Aioli, Brioche Bun). This is a pricey burger but it was really good. Was it the best burger ever? Nah but I did enjoy it very much, however, I really couldn't taste too much truffle. You're definitely paying up for the Wagyu...I have had regular burgers that have been just as good as this Wagyu one but again, I did enjoy it. And it was huge and was packed with delicious stuff. Still, I'd even go as far as saying it was a standout burger compared to some others I have had. The rest of the items on the menu sounded appealing too. Prices were definitely comparable to where I'm from (L.A.) but this is suburban Philly so I don't know if they're high or not. Neat fact: The building dates back to 1746 and served historical figures during the American Revolution like George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette and Freiderick Wilhem Von Steuben. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend Black Powder Tavern.
