I don't think a description of pizza does Le Monge justice, as the restaurant is much nicer than simply pizza, and they have lots of other options to try as well (including traditional French). For dinner I selected a small side salad and the campagna pizza which was delicious! It was larger than a lot of the portions I had seen in France before, and certainly large enough to share between two people. It had several kinds of cheese along with prosciutto. The combination of cheeses makes the pizza quite rich and creamy. My husband had the menu selection (which came with an appetizer of 6 escargot, beef bourguignon, and fruits for dessert). He enjoyed his selection as well. I would definitely stop in Le Monge for a meal and expect friendly servers, quick service and great food.

The internal mood is very casual, with a classical Napoli wood-fired pizza in the background, open bar and a large seating hall with regulars exchanging jokes with the staff and the owner, in a very relaxed Mediterranean fashion. The food follows suit. The pasta we ordered were extremely rich - to the point we actually needed bread to be able to eat the pasta, given how rich it ended up being - and in a good way. They also have an excellent wines selection - including from the surrounding Burgundy region, however we unfortunately did not have an opportunity to sample due to having to drive afterwards.
