1 Star (really less) - Pickwicks in Beaune Has Hit Rock Bottom
What an absolute disgrace. Pickwicks in Beaune, once a passable--if overpriced--spot, has deteriorated into a miserable, hostile joke of a venue. And at the center of its downfall? A doorman named Florian, whose arrogance, rudeness, and sheer incompetence make him the worst kind of gatekeeper.
This place used to have some redeeming qualities despite the steep prices, but now? It's a shell of its former self. The atmosphere is stale, the service is nonexistent unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience, and the so-called "hospitality" is outright hostile.
Florian, in particular, deserves a special mention for being an insufferable, power-tripping piece of work. If his job is to make people feel unwelcome, then congratulations--he's excelling. His attitude alone is enough to make you walk away, but if you do somehow get in, expect overpriced drinks served with an eye-roll and the ambiance of a dying pub that doesn't even realize it's already six feet under.
Save yourself the frustration. Pickwicks is not worth your time, your money, or your patience. There are far better places in Beaune where you'll actually be treated with basic decency. read more
