I made a reservation mistake and thought that we would not be able to eat there but a stroke of luck had us down for an 8PM reservation the next night. Great little hole in the wall like Japanese restaurant with mostly Sushi bar seating. We had the edamame, chicken karaage, some incredible mushroom dish, the Coquilles, tuna tartar and YES the fabulous pork chop which we missed last year as per below. It was all wonderful and since we drove down from Strasbourg just to eat at La Lune our expectations were high. Terrific at every turn. The one thing I am angry with myself for is not getting the name of the wonderfully talented Japanese chef and the gent that runs the front of the house (with some help from a capable colleague this year). I really would like to recognize them by name but it will have to wait until next year. Very few restaurants are a total hit but La Lune is one of them. Cannot wait to return.

Moving onto the 10 or so main dishes, the standouts were entrecôte, skate, cod and chicken. The owner/waiter comes off at first as brusk. But if you take a moment to ask him and informed question or ask him about a wine pairing, he lights up immediately and becomes engaged. His wine list is like a treasure trove and must have 30 to 40 pages of incredible burgundies. He was extremely helpful in finding us Wines that would pair well with what we ordered.

I highly recommend if visiting Beaune!
