It's a gloriously adorable little French themed boutique tea and coffee shop that specializes in Macarons. Sweet little almond flour cookies with delicate flavorings that if you're into them - are divine. The selections are super inspired and elegant, too. Among the chocolate peanut butter and strawberry flavors were also yuzu and London fog. I also had the most delicious hot mocha here. (NOT made with Madcap coffee thank you so much. When you're not a fan of Madcap sometimes it's hard to find a delicious espresso in Grand Rapids. Le Bon Macaron serves Rowster Coffee.) We were only in for a few minutes for me to drink my coffee and taste a few of the macarons we bought, but it's just an adorable place. Le Bon Macaron is one of my favorite spots in Grand Rapids for dessert. The atmosphere and decor is french inspired and so classy - it's great for dates or meeting up with friends over a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa! The Macarons are some of the best I've had! My husband and I prefer the sweeter flavors, including vanilla, almond and sugar cookie. It's fun to try all their flavors and they are always rotating the flavors. The Macarons are pricey but absolutely worth it! You can get a pot of tea which is plenty to share for 2 people for $5 and it is high quality tea. The sipping Hot Chocolate is so delicious as well, it's not super sweet and sugary, but very chocolate, rich and flavorful! We also had the Macarons at our wedding and they were a big hit and a fun little dessert - so cute to display! The staff at the shop is so friendly and helpful in choosing the Macaron flavors. The atmosphere is perfect ... you can also pre arrange tea parties with pastries and cheese and crackers from the local Cheese Lady. We took home an assortment of macarons - the special *Lucky charms for St. Patty's Day! This little shop just opened on Cherry Street. They offer 20+ flavors of French macarons. (Not to be confused with Italian/American macaroons made with almond/coconut.) These are the most wonderful desserts I've ever tried! They're fluffy, chewy, flavorful and delicious all at the same time. I tried flavors like chocolate salted caramel, strawberry, margarita, Nutella, vanilla, lychee, violet, and ginger lemon. All were fantastic! They are $2 each and are so pretty. You can buy them individually or in groups of 6. I cannot wait to go back and try some more! They also offer coffee drinks, tea, and croissants from Field & Fire. read more

Cute! I enjoyed my visit to Le Bon. Its a cheeky little macaroon bar with a good amount of options. I like that they don't stick to the typical 'strawberry' or 'orange' type of flavors. The last time I went I was able to score a blueberry lavender macaroon that was unique and delicious! As far as atmosphere, I would say 5 of 5. Its quaint but it doesn't get too busy so it feels pretty intimate. They also have other food items and drinks there so if you want to visit I'm sure anyone can find something to nibble on. We visited an amazing tea shop in New York City that had awesome macarons and had not been able to find anything close to that...until now!! The macarons here are as good as I've ever had. They have amazing flavors like honey lavender, violet, and peanut butter and jelly. They are delicate and fresh. Most macarons have an odd staleness to them. Not these!! The coffee here is also amazing. They have a lavender latte that is the best latte I've ever had (I'm not exaggerating!). They get their coffee beans from Rowsters which is just down the street and around the corner from them. I cannot say enough good things about this place. No internet so not a great place to sit down and work, but great cafe otherwise! I only wish I would have known there was no internet before sitting down with my laptop and getting situated. Great concept though to be a more social type of cafe. I have to admit that I have never actually had a Macaroon (I know!), I always thought that they were just cute and not tasty. I tried the Vanilla one today because when in France...(or something like that) - anyway, it was AMAZING. I feel liked I had cheated myself of tasting that delicious treat so many times before. I ordered a flavored soy latte, I wish I could remember what kind but it was a specialty one the barista recommended - latte was also very delicious! After having great coffee in coffee shops I can never enjoys Starbucks' "burnt to perfection" coffee again. Really great cafe and I would definitely go again and buy an embarrassing number of macaroons if I were to go to a coffee shop to just hang out or read, but typically my objective is to get work done. In closing, please get WiFi so I can have a productive reason to work + get coffee + eat more macaroons. read more

It feels like a little mini-vacation to Paris every time we treat ourselves to some goodies here, and today's visit was especially lovely because we got to nibble our desserts and sip our espressos at one of the little bistro tables outside and soak up a little spring sunshine. The second my husband bit into the gold-flecked salted caramel mini creme puff (a splurge at $3 for a two-bite morsel but totally worth it!) he decided he was unwilling to share it and hoofed back inside for a second one. The chocolate passion fruit creme puff was underwhelming by comparison but still fantastic. The non-parelils on the robins-egg-blue cake batter-flavor macaroons make it a visual knockout and a palate pleaser both in terms of taste and texture, and their croissants are flaky masterpieces. Super cute macaroon shop in Grand Rapids! After having lunch around the corner, we were walking about and spotted a macaroon shop. It looked super cute-Parisian like. They have a wide assortment of macaroons- many flavors for a good price of $2 each. So, I decided to get a box of 6. The box they have the macaroons are cute and useful- it's essentially a box with divisions, so each macaroon has it's own little square. I was just happy with the practical macaroon box (why do other places not have that?). We got: pistachio, matcha, Rice Krispie, speculoos, root beer, and cake batter. They were all good consistency- with the flavors not really being in the macaroon "bun", but more in the filling. My faves were definitely the root beer and the Rice Krispie- but that's just more of a personal opinion. Overall, it's a cute macaroon place in GR that's worth checking out! read more

Any of them will do. They will cheer you up on a bad day and make you happy on a good day. The staff is so nice and friendly, they will help you along on your day as well. The selection of macarons offered proved to be tasty, unique, and lovingly designed when I stopped in yesterday afternoon. With a flaky slightly stiff outside and a chewy yet moist cake like inside, each mini sandwich bite is filled with a custard cream to complement the taste of each individual French treat. My six pack consisted of chocolate, margarita, violet (sort-of like a lavender honey), coffee (turned out to be my fav), green tea, and a neon pink one that I can't remember the name of. I ate them all in one sitting. I feel guilty only because I should've have exercised some amount of self-control so I'd have some today. But who cares. I'll just go back and get more. At $2.00 each they are an easy way to treat myself. What was that I hear? Was that the collective "Whoa?! $2 each?! For that little thing?" groan coming from the value-conscious, bargain hunting Midwest populous? Trend Alert -$2 for a macaron is standard (or even less expensive) than many of the other macaron spots that have popped up all over our great country. You pay for the artistry, quality and taste, unique selection, friendly service, and an adorable storefront, that these small but mighty treats offer. Buck it up and try one or go to Meijer for a bag of generic Oreos. But I have yet to read glowing online reviews about generic Oreos like Le Bon has about their macarons. Just sayin'. My one and only suggestion is that they stick stickers on the bottom of the plastic macaron holder so you remember what you ordered when you got home. Other than that, I'm in heaven! read more

I love their macarons, but make sure you don't hesitate when ordering or they will put random flavors in your box without asking just to make your order move faster. I wouldn't mind if they just told us to hurry, but I do mind when I'm spending 25 dollars for 12 cookies and I don't even get to pick all the flavors. That being said, I love macarons (and making bad decisions) so I'll obviously be back. I'm just not super jazzed about it.
