I go there specifically for their small European hot chocolat. It's not your ordinary American liquify one. The one I get from there is thicker, richer, and so much flavor ! I took my mom here for Afternoon tea for Mother's Day. The place is adorable, tea pots are very pretty, scones and macarons are delicious. However, I would highly recommend just having tea and a macaron. The afternoon tea was not well executed-especially considering it was 25$ a person. We ordered tea at the counter and were left lingering/standing awkwardly without anyone directing us to our reserved seats. The service was klunky- we didn't have spoons, napkins, sugar, cream for awhile. The cheese plate consisted of dry cheese. Most afternoon tea services also offer small sandwiches. This establishment was clearly not set up to offer an afternoon tea. The servers were very polite and treats were yummy-I just wouldn't recommend paying for the afternoon tea-stick to getting a macaron. read more

Taste: Best macarons around! They are always the perfect amount of soft and crisp on the outside. Their flavors vary according to the season but I have never been disappointed! I have had seasonal flavors from their fall flavors to Halloween themed macarons. Their consistency is what makes me always want to go back! That also have nice drinks but I have only had a latte there once and it was good but the macarons stand out more to me personally. Atmosphere: They have a cute rustic chic theme for the cafe. There are chandeliers and the door is a sliding white wooden door. They have nice seats and table although it is a little cramped. I would say it is the perfect place to work or catch up for groups of two or at max 3. Groups bigger than three may have trouble finding enough seats. Finally got a chance to stop by here! This cafe is absolutely adorable and super aesthetically pleasing. It has a changing variety of macarons to choose from and some cute merchandise to check out as well. They offer drinks so if you are able to find a seat, sitting down to take a few photos and enjoy a sweet treat is a joy. I tried out three of the flavors and I have to say the passion fruit one was a bit weak flavor wise. However, the biscuit itself was perfect on all of them and the other two were delicious (maple walnut and pumpkin spice). I am not a big coffee drinker so while I cannot speak for that, they had a large tea selection that was decently priced. Overall, I would love to stop by here again. Do keep in mind that macarons are pricey wherever you get them so rather than pay $2 and get cheaply made ones, spend the money here and explore some unique flavors! read more

TL;DR- Macarons overtly sweet. Hot chocolate is good. Interior cute. So, I was excited to try this macaron place and was excited to see that macarons have finally caught in in Ann Arbor. The establishment is super cute and you can tell that the owners really care about the aesthetics. The customer service was good. Unfortunately, the macarons were not anything amazing. The consistency was ok. The flavors were just bland and did not resemble the flavors indicated (pistachio and rose). Both flavors just tasted like I was pouring sugar from a bag into my mouth. It was disappointing that the macarons lacked in flavor and again consistency was just eh nothing great. I would not go back even though the ambiance was really great when walking in but unfortunately the quality of the food with the prices just weren't worth it. Maybe the owners will adjust the ingredients and improve the macaron flavor. I wanted to give more than 2 stars but just cannot warrant it at this time due to the main thing they should have perfected they failed at. I think Le Bon is a really cute addition to downtown and I was so excited to finally come here. Chic and refined interior serving tea, lattes and some really good looking macarons. To go, I ordered a lavender latte and I found a new love of my life, I'm positive. So good and so flavorful and so unique (at least to me). I wish the macarons followed suit. While they look beautiful the flavor doesn't measure up to their looks. Yes, they were soft, as they should be, but the flavor profiles were really light. I wanted more of a pop of flavor in my mouth but alas I did not. I got 6 flavors and none of them were a must have again. To be honest I like the macarons you get at Trader Joes in the freezer better (for $5 a package of 12); and my mom agreed with me who is a self proclaimed macaron snob. I also snagged some cream puffs. I thought they were tasty but so small for $3 a piece! I somehow spent a little under $30 on 2 lattes, 6 macarons and 2 cream puffs. Ouch. read more

We stopped into Le Bob Macaron for a sweet treat and a hot drink on a cold, rainy afternoon. Their sipping chocolate was excellent; not too sweet and incredibly, deliciously thick. A little goes a long way (which is good, because the amount you get is very small). The macaroons themselves were technically perfect but a little inconsistent in terms of flavor--of the four different varieties I ordered, two tasted like nothing in particular (other than sweet) and two tasted exactly as advertised, with the flavoring being neither too subtle nor too heavy handed. I stopped by Le Bon while walking around downtown. The store is small but has a cute ambiance. There is a wide variety of flavors. I tried the chocolate sea salt caramel, pistachio, rose, hibiscus, lemon poppy and blueberry. They are visually appealing, but fall short on flavor. What they lack in flavor, they make up for in sweetness. For example, the hibiscus macaron tasted mostly like almond flour, sugar and butter. I wouldn't have been able to tell what flavor the pistachio was if I tried it with my eyes closed. I would love to see this place succeed, but think they need to revise their recipes to pump up the flavor. read more

They're a tad pricey but understandably so being that they're authentic macarons. The cafe itself is adorable and the color scheme is so on point. I'm generally not a fan of macarons, and I mostly just buy gifts here. Their standard packaging makes for a great gift (the boxes are clear so you can see the colors of the macarons) but you can pay a bit more for a sturdier box with ribbon. It makes for such a special gift! The staff are very knowledgeable and help you select the best flavors. Of the few macarons I have tried, the texture is great, but I agree with other reviewers that overall the macarons are far too sweet. I went here yesterday for the very first time for my Birthday. My oldest daughter, whom works and lives in Ann Arbor had highly recommended this place for me to go on my Birthday escapade. That being said, I wasn't really in the mood to eat anything else but wanted to make sure to take some macaroons home. I chose the Birthday Cake Batter, my daughter chose chocolate and my mom chose some sort of raspberry chocolate cheese cake, I think. We had slowly walked there hoping to make room for the deliquet macaroons but couldn't. After making our purchase we were ready to go home. It was cold and there was a brisk chill in the windy air as we rushed to locate the car. I remember; as I sat down in the front passenger seat and began to put my buckle on I heard this surprisingly slow groan yet excited, happy and satisfying noise; coming from behind my seat, which was my younger daughter, already ingesting her chocolate macaroon and loving EVERY SINGLE BIT OF IT! The sound of that immediately made my mother dig-in the bag for her macaroon and I of course followed. I love to bake and I've always licked the bowl and beaters and scraped the wonderfully raw batter from the bowl after making a cake and I couldn't wait to taste my macaroon! Now, I'm not much on eating pastry' s or light and fluffy cookies; I'm more of an Oreo Double Stuff or Chocolate Chip cookie dough eater. So as I started to indulge in this wonderfully looking pastel-colored macaron I was a bit hesitant. I began to take a small bite and as the cookie touched my lips it began to melt! The taste of this cookie or pastry was absolutely TO DIE FOR! My tastebuds were extremely overwhelmed with the beauty of real cake batter. I had almost wished that I spent the extra money to get the six pack or even opted to buy some additional ones to take home for my family. My mom shared a tiny bite of hers with me of course, and I shared mine with her and my daughter. However...my daughter gladly responded and said "Sorry you didn't get to taste mine because IT IS GONE!" LOL. The Macaroons are $2 each, which I thought was a bit pricey at first, but they are WELL worth it! I'd spend my money here to get that great taste and lasting flavor again. This is a very cute shop to just have a simple tea and coffee with friends or family!! I love the aesthetic interior that makes it look so chic and nice, but the macarons were tasty as well! They are pretty reasonably priced considering that it is located in a downtown area because usually those macarons are around $3-$4! I got mine in a pack of 6 and I would recommend pistachio! I tried this place on a recommendation from a friend. First and foremost, the customer service was great! They greeted me and my mom as soon as we walked in. They also were nice about suggesting things to try like they're drinks and macaroons. I ordered the lavender latte and my mom had a espresso, and we also had three macaroons and took home a dozen. They latte was frothy heaven with a settle hunt of lavender nothing too overpowering. My mom also enjoyed her espresso. The environment had a calm and light mood. This place looks cute and all but it's definitely overrated, their macarons were ok, the consistency was actually above average but it was too sweet and they didn't offer many of the classic flavors. But what really disappointed me (in fact flat out upset me) was their supposedly "sipping" chocolate (also called chocolat chaud). They offer two options: one traditional hot chocolate (you know, the usual powdered cocoa and steamed milk) and one supposedly French style sipping chocolate. Before ordering it, I asked if it was the real sipping chocolate, thick, semi-sweet and all? The owner, who apparently lived in France at some point, confirmed it was the case. I then observed from my seat the owner pick a bottle of what looked like cold chocolate milk, pour it into a tiny cup and microwave it. I could hear the alarm of the microwave and that was undrinkable heated chocolate milk for 3 dollars.
