This place is a tiny slice of heaven. I love candy! I love Zingerman's. I love this place. It is an adorable little alcove in their coffee shop. While I have heard about this industrial area for many years, I never had the chance to visit until now. We came here for a baking class but came extra early to shop around their stores before our session began. It was near impossible to decide what to sample, but we had to get a couple treats to graze on before our class. We decided on some pate de fruits and some marzipan. Both were extremely fresh and amazing. I love pates de fruits because it taste like the fruit slices I grew up eating but this was fresher and made with real fruit. It was a perfect bite. The marzipan was delicious and the chocolate ears had an amazing snap and a great flavor. All of their marzipan was adorable. They also have so many chocolates to choose from plus unique wrapped candies on shelves. We will be back with the entire family to explore more. This tiny section is a feast for the eyes as much as a feast for the stomach.

I bought one of Zingerman's candy bars and it was so good. You can sample almost whatever you want. Fun place to check out.

While it has the crispness of peanut brittle, it's also got a softness to it that melts in your mouth.

They have an array of flavors of bon bons (chocolates with a filling inside) lined up behind the glass case including fudge brownie, peanut butter and jam, and much more unique combinations that I paid no attention to because i was enamored with the rest of the shop. They had all sorts of knick knacks, stickers (some were for free!), mini greeting cards, shirts, tote bags, cool shaped chocolates on the shelves. Each bon bon is $3.50 and it gets individually packaged in a tiny box. If you're feeling extra, you can buy a cute cardboard carrier case for your chocolate treasures ($2). Otherwise you can still get it packaged in a cute box for free (pictured). As for the actual bon bons: - The fudge brownie one had a deep chocolate flavor with only about 35% sweetness which was quite dismaying. - The PB&J one was sweeter which I liked and the jam added a bit of tartness. Comparatively, this bon bon had more complexity than the dark bitterness of the fudge brownie.

Think cookies, macarons, cakes, and gelato. Plus delightful candies, cookie mixes, spice blends, marshmallows, etc. They also carry super cute tea and kitchen accessories like mugs, teapots, tins, linens and more. The shop itself is adorable. Full of delightful touches and colorful decor. Staff is super sweet and the treats themselves are delicious. I've always been a fan of the Tea Haus macarons and they carry them here, in more ambitious designs and flavors too. The gelato is also delicious. I had a scoop of the blueberry with a delicious tea infusion and it was flavorful and delightfully creamy. Such a fun and delightful addition to Kerrytown. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

-cute concept and shop -macaron flavors are good in theory…read morebut what you get is really hit or miss -gelato flavors are very weak, tastes mostly like milk -a staff member once gave us a visibly older macaron and didn't offer to exchange it for a fresh one when we pointed it out (there was one old one vs five fresh ones) The gelato and macarons here have been underwhelming, especially since they're supposed to be the focus here. I'm also confused by the macaron flavors, as they aren't tea-inspired. I would go to TeaHaus over this extension, as their tea is good and they have seating. Gelato - very dense and milky. A medium (2 scoops) is $4. I tried the strawberry green tea and an earl gray with lavender shortbread, and both mostly just tasted like milk - the flavors are accurate, but they're very weak and difficult to detect. The caramel and black tea with sea salt had a mild caramel taste but no salt. They do offer samples. Macarons ($2.25 each) - flavors are good but shells need work. They're really big (about 2.5" in diameter), and the rotating flavors are often fun and creative. Le Bon Macaron has better shell quality, but the flavors here are better. Compared to when I first tried them 3 or 4 years ago the macarons have improved, but out of the ones I tried recently only one (chocolate malt in July) was decent. Quality is really hit or miss depending on the batch you happen to get. -raspberry key lime (August) - really sugary with a weak lime flavor -bubblegum (July) - tasted very much like bubblegum but the shells were very crunchy and overbaked, and there were huge air pockets -superman (July) - too chewy and soft -brown butter pecan (July) - good flavor but shells were dry and too crunchy, and the buttercream was very stiff and buttery

Honestly, I was a bit overwhelmed when I came in. There's a tea bar area, the loose leaf tea wall, pastries and other desserts, swag, a tasting area, and apparently it was trivia night tonight. I experienced all of this in just the first minute or two of entering. And it was packed! I really appreciate the time taken to explain the shop to me and walk me through many of the teas. Although they were busy, I didn't feel rushed (there were 2-3 people working the registers) and it felt very personal chatting. I was able to smell a bunch, and could really tell the differences in them. I ended up getting 3 50g bags and 2 sample bags, plus some stickers and pins. Really excited to try these out. They are selling really cute tea ornaments and they have other things like tea pots and cards with funny phrases like "It was you Oolong." They don't have a physical menu because the flavors constantly change. You can look online but for the most part, have to stand behind the counter in diff areas to see alll the flavors! I spotted Almond Milk Tea and she let me smell it and I was sold! It smelled wonderful! When it was actually brewed, it was ok though. It doesn't really have milk in it either :0p My MIL got the Hisbiscus (a tad too sour) and my husband got the Japanese Cherry green tea (that was good and has a mild flavor if you like that sort of thing). They have signs on the table that there is no Wifi because they encourage unplugged conversations and connections.

The case of macarons was beautiful , multicolored rows of well labelled flavors. We each made some selections and ordered some drinks. Our hosts ordered a large French press pot to share. I had time to speak with staff about the last k of space for baking and how they arrived at so many flavors. They do not bake onsite but receive frozen shipments from the main bakery in Grand Rapids as handiest the Holland, Michigan store. They defrost enough each for each day so they never run out of flavors. They were some of best I have ever had. Nothing like what you might find in the bakery section of a grocer. It's so appealing. The macarons displayed in the case were equally appealing. I don't recall all the flavors, but I had a tough time picking out flavors for my friend and, of course, something for me. I chose three macarons to enjoy at the shop: blueberry, coconut, and strawberry cheesecake. I liked the delicate crack of the macaron shells and the creamy, flavorful centers. Each sported a design to distinguish itself from the others further. I also had a piping hot Earl Gray tea along with these treats. Espresso, French and Italian sodas, and lattes are also available. Customers stopped in throughout my visit for a quick purchase or to savor their macarons at nearby tables. Service was disappointing.
