Sodas and candy, that's the synopsis of their offerings. There's a wall to walk and shelf to shelf of candy. So many ginger drink options to pick from. The Reed's is touted to be the strongest ginger flavor, but doesn't mention it's a nasty flavor. The spicy ginger claim of the other soda is not spicy at all, more sweet than sweet. I must be hungry. All of the candy bars looked so good to me. Reese's and snickers, can't ever go wrong there.

Just a small sample of the merchandise available here.

I haven't strolled through Ann Arbor in a long time so I was delighted to see this store along the downtown core. Inside, there are colorful chocolate bars, candy (lollipops!), and soda neatly arranged on shelves that line the perimeter of the store. And the chocolate, it's not the fancy stuff sold at gourmet stores. This is the stuff that makes for fond childhood memories. If you've ever read Candy Freak by Steve Almond, some of the candy would be familiar. Others are limited-release chocolate bars, not found on the shelves of Target or Walmart. Against one wall, you can find numerous bins filled with different flavors of taffy. I filled up half a bag to taste test. I need to return to taste test the soda. The store also caters to people who enjoy Japanese snacks, like Pocky, and Canadian candy bars like Mr. Big, Mirage, and Cherry Blossom. I wanted one of the tin lunch boxes displayed throughout the store but they are not that practical for work - and yes, I would have used them if they were large enough to carry salads, diet soda, and ice packs. All that is needed here are ice cream bars and sandwiches and this would be a duplicate of the corner stores I went to as a kid. Rocket Fizz - what a perfect name for a candy/soda store with a nostalgic bent.

So much taffy and so many flavors - Colorful taffy candies are arranged in separate sections with flavor labels, alongside bottled sodas below, in a candy store.

This is the place if you want any type of candy that is current and some that aren't as popular. If you want a pop and are looking for unusual flavors or varieties, this is the place. I like the pick your own taffy idea,it's a good deal. I'm not a fan of taffy, so I didn't partake. I did, however, grab some candy for stockings for Christmas. I grabbed a few of my favorites also. I wasn't intending to come here but found it on the way back from another store. It was very clean and had large aisles to browse around. The workers there were also very friendly and willing to help. I highly recommend it if you have a sugar fix.

I've always found Rocket Fizz to be a delightful store. All the crazy sodas, fun and retro candies and novelties, etc. My family and I had loads of fun at this new Ann Arbor location poppin in between the aisles and digging through all the weird soda flavors like pickle and mustard. It's like a demented candy land. Speaking of demented, my family and I thought it would be great fun to do a blind taste testing of a bunch of the wacky flavors. We picked up 7, one for each of us, in ranch, enchilada, sweet corn, butter, bacon, and the aforementioned pickle and mustard. It was a hoot (although totally disgusting). When we were checking out, the clerk was super friendly and helpful and gave us some carrying holders for the bottles and small bags for covering the bottles for the tasting. I'm not sure if I'll be back for more weird beverages but I'll definitely be back for one of their other sodas like root beers and ginger beers, and fun candy and gifts, of course. It'll be a great spot for stocking stuffers come the holidays, too!

This bright and colorful store is very welcoming and filled with all kinds of sodas and candy. A lot of the candy are retro items you won''t find in the checkout line of your local grocery store. A fun place to take the kids and adults will enjoy reminiscing about candy they had when they were young.

They are so consistent with the other stores I've visited. This is going to definitely be my goto for exotic candies and delicacies.

They have an array of flavors of bon bons (chocolates with a filling inside) lined up behind the glass case including fudge brownie, peanut butter and jam, and much more unique combinations that I paid no attention to because i was enamored with the rest of the shop. They had all sorts of knick knacks, stickers (some were for free!), mini greeting cards, shirts, tote bags, cool shaped chocolates on the shelves. Each bon bon is $3.50 and it gets individually packaged in a tiny box. If you're feeling extra, you can buy a cute cardboard carrier case for your chocolate treasures ($2). Otherwise you can still get it packaged in a cute box for free (pictured). As for the actual bon bons: - The fudge brownie one had a deep chocolate flavor with only about 35% sweetness which was quite dismaying. - The PB&J one was sweeter which I liked and the jam added a bit of tartness. Comparatively, this bon bon had more complexity than the dark bitterness of the fudge brownie.

Full of delightful touches and colorful decor. Staff is super sweet and the treats themselves are delicious. I've always been a fan of the Tea Haus macarons and they carry them here, in more ambitious designs and flavors too. The gelato is also delicious. I had a scoop of the blueberry with a delicious tea infusion and it was flavorful and delightfully creamy. Such a fun and delightful addition to Kerrytown. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

I'm also confused by the macaron flavors, as they aren't tea-inspired. I would go to TeaHaus over this extension, as their tea is good and they have seating. Gelato - very dense and milky. A medium (2 scoops) is $4. I tried the strawberry green tea and an earl gray with lavender shortbread, and both mostly just tasted like milk - the flavors are accurate, but they're very weak and difficult to detect. The caramel and black tea with sea salt had a mild caramel taste but no salt. They do offer samples. Macarons ($2.25 each) - flavors are good but shells need work. They're really big (about 2.5" in diameter), and the rotating flavors are often fun and creative. Le Bon Macaron has better shell quality, but the flavors here are better. Compared to when I first tried them 3 or 4 years ago the macarons have improved, but out of the ones I tried recently only one (chocolate malt in July) was decent. Quality is really hit or miss depending on the batch you happen to get. -raspberry key lime (August) - really sugary with a weak lime flavor -bubblegum (July) - tasted very much like bubblegum but the shells were very crunchy and overbaked, and there were huge air pockets -superman (July) - too chewy and soft -brown butter pecan (July) - good flavor but shells were dry and too crunchy, and the buttercream was very stiff and buttery

I spotted Almond Milk Tea and she let me smell it and I was sold! It smelled wonderful! When it was actually brewed, it was ok though. It doesn't really have milk in it either :0p My MIL got the Hisbiscus (a tad too sour) and my husband got the Japanese Cherry green tea (that was good and has a mild flavor if you like that sort of thing).
