First visit to this cute little shop with some girlfriends and it was so great! The lemon blueberry scone was delicious and the big pot of tea was definitely worth the $5- stay hydrated friends! The sipping chocolate was a definite 10/10 with my friend. We will be back again! Very charming decor and a nice place to study or meet up with friends. read more

I absolutely loved the macarons! I ordered 5; however wished I had ordered more. I had fruity pebble, birthday cake, strawberry margarita, one with ginger and the last flavor I can't recall as they are all very unique!! They were amazing!! Pillow soft cookies and the perfect amount of filling. The flavors were strong and delicious. The shop was very cute and charming. I look forward to many visits as macarons are one of my guilty pleasures! Still amazing!! read more

I have never had a macaron I liked. My friend who loves them insisted we go, so I tried on and ended up buying a box of 6. That's only becomes I was visiting from out of town, otherwise I would have purchased a larger quantity. These macarons are perfection. I know the prices seem steep but macarons are not easy to make. I tried: creme brûlée (my fav), chocolate strawberry, fresh plum, salted caramel. The shop is super cute and a great place to sit down and enjoy a few (or more) macarons. read more

At $2 a macaron, they better be decent! To be honest I didn't have the highest hopes going in, as AA restaurants typically have a lot to be desired. However, I got drawn in by their $4 coffee + 1 macaron deal and that's how I ended up there! The outlay is white and crisp and clean; it's small, but is a pleasant place to get work done. The cold brew was delicious and was strong (exactly what I needed). I ended up getting the sea salt caramel macaron and that was incredible; it was small but rich and exploded with flavor. Clearly they know what they're doing; going to be the spot I go to when I need to curb my sugar craving! read more

Goods Who would have guessed there is a frou-frou macaron boutique in Ann Arbor Michigan? And yet this one takes the "cake" or macaron for that matter. I have made it a point to try macarons every chance I get at various stores and these were among some of the best. I evaluate based on appearance, texture, and balance of flavor. These were beautifully designed. Each one is unique with gold leaf, paint, color swirls, and other sprinkles to subtly signify or hint at what the flavor will be. My ideal macaron is lightly crisp on the exterior without having to bite down then give way to a very moist and fluffy interior. This all leads up to the burst of flavor. Here these do just that and the flavors are as advertised but without being obvious. I was sad when leaving Ann Arbor since I felt I wouldn't be able to get them again. I enjoyed the blueberry Italian cream soda. It has a blueberry syrup like flavor and topped with a macaron of your choice from their window. Only problem was that it was such a small cup. When I first researched this macaron store, I noticed that they offered cream puffs on weekends only. For this reason, we went on a Saturday. When we arrived, I was told that they are now only available on special occasions or for special orders/large orders. This was very disappointing and when looking at the website it still states available on sat/sun. Ambiance Just beautiful. I love the bright white and clean interior. They display the teas in glass vials on a rotating stand and I loved this little detail. Clear simple vases of flowers at every table. Seating is a bit limited and close quarters, but given the area I suppose they worked with what they were given. If I had a bakery, I'd want it to be similar to the ambiance here. Service I loved macarons so much, we went TWICE. First time we got a dozen macarons and for the shopping bag it was a plastic grocery bag...very disappointing. Second time we just got a 6 pc box and the employee there provided a BEAUTIFUL white shopping bag with the branding in silver lettering. I pointed this out and she stated "yeah, those grocery bags are UGLY..." It left a slightly sad taste for me just thinking that maybe they are encouraged to save the bags even if you make a proper purchase. I've been meaning to check this place out for some time now. Lucky last week I accidentally parked right in front of it on my way to breakfast. I was so amazed when I walked in, I could literally live there! It actually looks like something I would design. The girls were so kind and helpful to me. I ordered the cinnamon/honey latte, it has another name but I can't remember it. It was honestly the best iced latte I have had in my entire life! I grabbed 6 macarons to try: Jasmine, Cookie Monster, French Plum, Orange, Pistachio, and Samoa. The Jasmine stole the show and was by far my favorite of the bunch! I've been looking for excuses to go back all week! Definitely my new go-to and will be on my blog soon! read more

Latte = $4 Alt Milk = $1 Flavor (vanilla) = $1 $6 is fairly expensive for a small latte. I forewent the extras. The latte was good, but not uniquely good (as in I need to come here only). There isn't a ton of seating here. I love that the counter tops are slate with white cabinets. This is my dream kitchen color scheme. Aside from the three round tables lined up in front of the bench, the other seating options aren't the most comfortable. Also, it's freezing cold here, as opening the door brings in a gust of wind that makes it difficult to study at the coffee shop for any length of time. I can definitely feel that they're running the heater though, just wish that door was in a different location. read more

Strong, jammy flavors. They're plenty moist (I'm always disappointed in dry macarons), but they lay the flavor on heavier than I usually find in France. I'm a little put off by the metallic paint on many of the flavors --- I actively avoided those. A few poppyseeds or some swirled colors are fine, but silver and gold don't look appetizing to me. The chocolate and hazelnut were reasonable, and chocolate-raspberry was nice --- but some of the fruit flavors were just too Smuckers for my taste. Tasty and moist, but a little lacking in refinement. read more

Unbelievably excited when I found out that le bon finally decided to open a location in Ann Arbor. I've always gotten my macaron fix from them in East Lansing but now they're only a 10 minute drive away from me! Le bon probably has the best macarons to offer in Michigan. They have unique flavors like fruity pebble, champagne, etc and it's always changing depending on the month! Something new I tried was the Italian creme soda and it was refreshingly delicious! It's a cute space with a very instagramable aesthetics and worth a visit! Definitely my new study spot! Ps: there's a parking garage right around the corner! read more

Le Bon has quickly become one of my favorite places in Ann Arbor. I have lived in the city for almost 7 years and have struggled to find a macarons that I have genuinely enjoyed. This has changed now that Le Bon is in Ann Arbor. The store itself is gorgeous with a very chic and classy ambiance. The macarons are displayed beautifully and there are cute aprons and macaron-themed products to buy on the side. I have visited the shop three times since it opened, and every time the macarons have been soft, moist and wonderful. The quality is never lacking and they taste just how good macarons should. My only qualm with the shop is that there is limited seating, but seeing as it is a small shop, there is not much room for more tables. I know that I will be coming back here many times while I am still in Ann Arbor. read more

4 stars for the overall experience at Le Bon!! Though some the macarons could've used more flavor infusion (esp., yuzu, eggnog), the shop is super cozy and sparkly, and the oolong creme tea was yum! For comparison purposes, Laduree and Lette macarons still pack more subtle and differentiated flavor blends without being cloyingly sweet. Le Bon, while pretty sweet, still have more flavor than the ones at TeaHaus. Will be back for tea dates :-D read more

It's hard to say this, but the macarons at Le Bon Macaron are BETTER than the ones I had in Paris. The flavors are robust and unique. The macarons are perfectly made - crisp on the outside, chewy in the middle. My husband, who historically doesn't like macrons, can't stop raving about the ones we had last night. I honestly haven't seen him this enthusiastic about any dessert in a long time! Their little shop is beautiful as well and the staff is always friendly and helpful. This is the perfect place for a sweet treat after a date night or a fun place to go with the girls. What's even better is that this is a local Michigan company! Can't recommend it enough! read more

I've been craving non-stop for Macaron. One day, I braved downtown despite hating the parking conditions. I had to park a block away and brisked walked to the store. Flavors I got: *Matcha (fave too. You can really taste the matcha) *Lavender (I've had a lot of lavender flavored foods/drinks but this was kinda weird. Maybe it was the bits of lavender? There's was some tiny bits of chewy in there) *Red velvet (definitely my fave) *Sea salt caramel (was okay) *Margarita (probably one of my fave) *Rose (didn't taste anything rosy, just sweet) The shell was good. Obsessed! Very neat little place. I love the clean space and the vibe. Went there on a Sunday morning, and it was fairly quite. I tried the Honey Spice Latte, which was great. Next time I would just add an extra shot of espresso, if that's an option, to make it stronger. A matter a preference. Also, tried the macarons, my favorite was the Jasmine. Unique flavor. As far as parking, there plenty of street parking around. And the location is in the heart of Kerry Town, so there is a lot to see and do in the area. read more

I stumbled upon this cute macaron place when I was wandering around the Main Street area. It is right across the street from Literati. Right when you walk in, you get a feel for the clean, chic atmosphere. The employees are super friendly and they don't rush you to order. There are option to get them in a box of 6 but I chose to get 3 individual ones. There is such a wide variety of flavors that they rotate throughout the seasons. As for the macarons themselves, they are super light, sweet, and they don't crumble too quickly. At $2 a piece, I think it's worth it if you're in the mood to treat yourself! Also the background and decorations of the place make it very aesthetically appealing and good for pictures! read more

Cute spot, 4 macarons were 8 bucks. We ate them inside. 1 of the macarons was frozen still in the center but still good. I really like their macarons as most are too sugary for my taste, but they make theirs just right. They also have a wonderful selection of coffees teas and affogatos.. the staff are very friendly and informative, the inside is very clean and cute. read more

Beautiful French coffee and Macaron shop that popped up about two months ago. Easy to find however you have to navigate the construction on Fourth, between Liberty and Washington. Small, bright shop with a small seating area. I haven't stayed yet but have opted for hot chocolate and two macarons to go. The cookies are $2 each and sinfully rich. You can order a beautiful gift box with your cookie order of 2, 5, or 10, for an extra dollar. The cookies are so beautiful, the box shows them off and would make a fantastic fresh gift. Inventive rotating flavors has me visiting to try different ones each week. It's a nice treat w a hot beverage when you need a quick break. So glad Le Bon has joined Ann Arbor's downtown. read more

Cute macaron place in downtown Ann Arbor! Le Bon Macaron does exactly as it promises -- it's a nice spot to get a cup of coffee and a macaron. They also have a weekly drink special in which if you get this specialty drink, you also get a free macaron on the side. The macarons themselves were a small, but well-crafted and had a variety of flavors available (pricey too, but that's just the nature of macarons in general I believe). There's a fairly expansive tea selection, and the espresso drinks are good for a shop not specializing in coffee, too! Soy milk and almondmilk are the non-dairy milk options. It's a pretty small place, but the aesthetic is deliberately pleasing. There is not a ton of space to work inside the cafe or sit with a big group, so I would best recommend it as a place to grab a treat and catch up with a friend instead of studying (but it works for studying too if you can wait it out for a table to yourself). The workers are also super friendly and helpful. Overall, I absolutely recommend Le Bon Macaron as the place to get macarons in Ann Arbor! read more

We love Le Bon Macaron! We love the name, the chandeliers, the immaculately clean dining area but above all else....we love the macarons!! They are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They are flavorful and delicate. They are everything a macaron should be. She offers such unique flavors. We purchased 6 flavors and a lavender latte. The latte had a great, bold lavender flavor and was made wonderfully smooth. I'm also delighted that they are so close to a parking structure (4th & Washington). This is also very close to the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum. I can see us stopping every time on our way to the museum. They are also just two stores down from Literati bookstore. It would be delightful to snack on macarons while perusing their bookstore. read more

I popped in and grabbed 6 different macarons. To be honest, I wasn't wowed by them. The sweetness overshadowed the flavors. The coffee and Tiramisu were probably the best of the group. The bakery/cafe is adorable and the atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. read more

Love coming here for a cup of tea and some macarons! They have amazing tea and macaron flavors. My favorite tea is the vanilla bean and my favorite macaron is the Rice Krispie. It's definitely not cheap, but macarons are such a delicate dessert to make I think they are worth the price. The store has a great atmosphere as well! read more

For Ann Arbor, this place is definitely a great place to buy macarons. My friend bought some for my birthday and she chose a variety from their holiday collections and their regular selection. Some of their macarons are really sweet and just too overwhelming such as the banana chocolate flavor. There are also some macarons that you can't really distinguish the flavor, but still delicious. If they decreased the amount of sugar, it would be an amazing place to buy macarons. I will definitely be back to order some! read more

Really nice and bright interior, yummy tea and macarons, and Parisian vibe. The shop is tiny and really dainty but has lovely window seating and a couple of small tables and books where you would be able to read or have an afternoon tea with friends. Menu is on the pricier side with macarons at $2 each for a standard sized one but the macarons are great quality and have so many flavors (classic and also nonstandard) to choose from. read more

My friend said she didn't like macarons. I said it was because she hadn't had a good one yet! So we tried this place out. The interior is bright and beautiful. The staff was nice too. But these macarons were so average!! My friend and I wanted to taste the rose and the lemon raspberry. The rose flavor was underwhelming. The taste of butter was overpowering and almost nauseating! The lemon raspberry was okay. They were $2 each, so not too bad. But I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. And my friend still doesn't like macarons. read more

I'm a total snob for French macarons, and these were incredible. They were perfectly light and chewy, like a macaron should be. They might even rival La Duree in terms of quality! Their flavors are incredible. Each one I tried tasted EXACTLY like described (the cake batter tasted literally exactly like a vanilla cupcake). They also have a huge variety of flavors. They're a little pricey ($2/each), but macarons always are no matter where you go. HIGHLY recommend this place for definitely the best macarons in Ann Arbor, and some of the best I've ever had in general. read more

Every time I pass by a macaron shop, I have to stop by and try at least one of their macarons. At Le Bon Macaron, I got four, although, I could have easily gotten a dozen; they have so many unique flavors! My first time around, I got matcha, red velvet, mint chocolate, and Marie Antoinette's birthday cake. All were so fresh and gooey. I had to order mine to go because I was in a bit of a rush, which is unfortunate because the adorable details of the store captured my attention that I wish I could have eaten my macarons in there. But with the 20-ish flavors they have, I have plenty of excuses to stop by again and hopefully stay a bit longer. read more

I accidentally stumbled upon this cute macaron shop today. The ambiance is so feminine and relaxing. They offer a variety of macarons, with interesting flavors. I tried the peanut butter (to die for), chocolate and a salted caramel macaron. All three were delicious. So many shops offer macarons these days, but too many of them are flavorless and too sugary. The macarons are gorgeous. The taste and texture are really good (my faves are the cake batter and the rice krispie), but I'm a little spoiled because my wife makes really stellar macarons at home that I prefer. Prices are fair. They have coffee too, which I've gotten, but I must admit that I don't remember much about it (I probably thought it was just fine). The service is OK (seems it's about a 50-50 shot whether I get someone who is really nice or someone who is like super bored and kind of annoyed that I stopped in) and there's not much seating inside (on 3 occasions, the cashier asked me if I wanted to eat in or take my order to go when there were literally no available seats inside). What it boils down to: If you like macarons and you're in downtown Ann Arbor, I mean you should probably stop by. read more

A beautiful store with lovely coffee and macaron choices. We got the pumpkin and salted caramel macaron which was a perfect match with strong macchiato, a nice balance with the decadence of the pastry. The cannelle miel (cinnamon honey) latte was very large had a nice and light taste with complemented the macarons. Really good deal for really flavorful macarons! The mimosa flavor was really good and so was salted chocolate. The reason I deducted one star was because the lack luster hot chocolate. It tasted very watered down. My friend compared the drink to straight up milk. Really clean sitting space and very accommodating staff. Although the overall establishment is on the smaller side, the large windows and the neutral color scheme contribute to making the space seem larger. read more

I have been walking by this storefront all summer and just waiting for it to open. I was finally able to try it recently, and it exceeded my expectations! This adorably girlie shop is just what Ann Arbor needed to up the cute factor. But brownies aren't this store's main deal: the chocolate is center. Mendo's sells a variety of delicious dark and milk chocolates, as well as honey of the chocolate, which is the byproduct of processing the cacao into cocoa. It tastes like a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. The Dexter factory also offers tours and truffle and chocolate bar making classes. Otherwise you can still get it packaged in a cute box for free (pictured). As for the actual bon bons: - The fudge brownie one had a deep chocolate flavor with only about 35% sweetness which was quite dismaying. - The PB&J one was sweeter which I liked and the jam added a bit of tartness. The service is friendly, if not a little too watchful of your perusal however the food is both bold and mute. What I mean by that is for each of the flavors you either have too strong of a flavor or too light of a flavor. For instance let's take a look at two classic fudge flavors, peanut butter and chocolate, the chocolate is far too strong as if there is too much cocoa powder and the peanut butter it too light tasting mostly of powdered sugar instead of peanut butter. Not to say it isn't inedible ( that would be a 1 star review) but with how strong the flavors are it isn't preferable. This applies to all the flavors and other items as well. The other items such at the truffles are hard, not due to anything like nuts but because the chocolate isn't made to be soft yet stable. Getting something like Lindt truffles from a grocery store far beat out the truffles here unfortunately. This trend is continued with the other items available as well, nothing hits the spot and is either too strong or too weak in flavor and texture.
