I don't think these people know what prime rib is. I was served a piece of meat that was about 3/4" thin, no juice and cooked beyond death with a bone that covered the entire length of the offering. It took a great deal of courage to consume it. And the "loaded baked potato" for the additional $5, was nothing short of having butter on the potato and it was tasteless and limited to about two small bites. The rest of the potato was just potato. I'd also like to bring to your attention a math trick they use to charge clients more. I usually pay my tip based on the total food/drink bill before the taxes are added as I don't wish to pay a tip on the taxes. When they present the check, the tip amounts shown on the check are actually calculated against the food/drink bill total, which is correct in how I look at paying a tip. However, when they present the machine at your table to pay your bill and you choose to add the 15%, 20%, 25% tip to your check, they set up the machine, unbeknownst to the paying client, to calculate the tip against the entire bill, including the taxes, so you pay more in your tip than what they show on the original paper check. I've never seen a restaurant use this ruse to take advantage of its clients' good will. Example: the bill is $1.00 and the taxes are 30% so the total bill would be $1.30. 15% tip should be .15. So the total would be $1.00 plus .15 plus .30, or $1.45. That is what they'd show on the paper check for a 15% tip. However, when you pay using the machine and choose a 15% tip, the tip is calculated against $1.30, so the tip now is .15 x $1.30, or .195 for a total bill of $1,00 plus .30 plus .20 (.195 rounded) or $1.50 vs 1.45. When you do this to everyone on regular meal bills, the restaurant is making an additional income stream by cheating the clients willingly. They know what they are doing with this deceitful practice. They know that no one is going to question them. In the end, I'd never return there because the beef was disgusting and the blatant thievery. Look at the check that I was given and note the tip amount if you choose a 15% tip; it's $14.40. Now look at my bill after choosing to pay a 15% tip; it's $22.08. Almost $8.00 higher. Multiply this swindle times a gazillion clients each month. read more

Coming from a steak city, Chicago, I was very surprised about the quality of my filet. It was excellent and the peppercorn sauce that came with it was divine!! Others had filet, pork chop and chicken Alfredo, all excellent as well. Drinks were great as well. The service by Tommy was wonderful. We stayed at the Palais Royal Hotel and had breakfast/brunch at the Beffroi there this morning. So convenient. Lovely room and a seat by the window. It was a full breakfast buffet with one room for hard-core, eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon, etc., and the other for fresh fruit of all kinds, great croissants and muffins. The staff was superb, bringing and refilling coffee, and most pleasant. This is a perfect way to start a day visiting Old Quebec, easily walkable from here! read more

I saw the bad reviews but noticed they were pretty old. Gave it a go because we were looking for a good steak dinner. We got the steak dinner but it wasn't that great. For what you get this restaurant is way over priced. The portions are small and the service is so slow. This place reminded me of a restaurant that was the cat's meow in the 80's and has been living off that reputation ever since. A word of warning, any steakhouse that gives you a variety of sauces as options has to tell you that they can't be putting too much into their actual meat. A good steak house shouldn't need anything on it's steak let alone the need to add salt. I could go on but I think you'll get the point by this time. read more

Fantastic view, our server was Anick she was fantastic very friendly. My girlfriend had the French onion soup for entré, they brought it up and said to be very careful it was hot ..... turned out to be stone cold ,when we were done we were asked how it was so we've mentioned that it was stone cold .... all we got is " sorry! " I had the rocket salad with goat cheese it was very good. For the main we both had the Boston AAA steak mine was very good , and my girlfriend over cooked ( burned on the edges ) when we mentioned it again we were told that it was normal ..... overall it was disappointing. Can I rate them in negative?? We ordered our breakfast here and repeated the order 7-8 times, which was confirmed by the waitress as well by repeating back the order. We had ordered a dish and were very specific for it to be without any meat or non vegetarian item. Not only did they send the meal with meat/bacon in it, which we came to know only after eating it (which was against our will and religion), but when we confronted them, they were like we can't do anything about it. The waitress also showed that she had written the order specifications for no meat no bacon no ham, but the manager was so rude to us. She was super arrogant and not at all apologetic. She even said that we should have been careful. She agreed to at-least refund the money for it. And now when I see my card statements, they didn't refund the entire amount. Horrible rude lady who presented us as the manager!!! Breakfast only: a well done classic breakfast, with elegant presentation of crepes aux fruit and French-style omelettes. Service was charming if a little inexperienced. The dining room is a little traditional, and the prices befitting the hotel location on the high side. We stayed at the hotel where this restaurant is located. We had dinner in the restaurant and the server treated us like we were completely unimportant. Never refilled our water glasses or checked in on us. He had an attitude and kept it during the whole meal. We tried it a second time And ordered in, had the absolute worst pizza. Mixed experience, but overall quite good.Service was very quick,although it was off-peak hours. The Top Sirloin from the left 'standard' side of the menu was fair- tough and overcooked (would have sent it back, but did not want to eat after everyone else at my table). The Prime steaks from the right side of the menu (slightly pricier) were definitely much better! I am told the fish was also quite good Bread probably the best we had while in Quebec City Onion soup, while pretty standard mix (not as good as Jardin's), was quite tasty. We were disappointed. Tired after an early travel day we opted to eat in our at hotel. For starters my friend had the French onion soup which was tasty but lacking broth. I had a salad, a peppery arugula, which was served in an odd plating--in a bowl better used for serving ice cream-- that had onions and radishes falling out of the dish. We waited an hour for our entrees to come out. My friend described her veal parm as nearly inedible, covered in a sauce that probably came out of a jar, and the accompanying spaghetti in what did not taste like an Alfredo sauce. I had steak frites. Steak was prepared okay. Fries were shoestring, not the thicker steak fries I had envisioned, and we're a bit on the oily side. Went for Birthday. Most disappointing meal. Meals arrived with filets on wrong plates.. One filet perfect the other raw. Sent back second arrived raw. No excuse, manager removed filet expected we be and salad but no. Meal was to include 3 tiger shrimp-what was served were 5 tiny shrimp with no forewarnings. Nice decor Friendly staff Over priced partly because of location in a tourist part of town. I have the 12oz sirloin, the meat and the cuts were good. The ribs were soft and fell off the bone. The sauce on the ribs were ok nothing great or that I can't get in NYC. Overall, it's a good steakhouse, with good cuts of meat. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My mom and aunt ordered a medium well steak and it came out so well done that you could smell how burnt it was. When the person came out to give us our food, he even said "Well done steaks." Anyways, they tried a piece and said it tasted really bitter and was really tough. Additionally, I ordered rice with my steak and got mashed potatoes instead. I asked the waiter to come over to address the issues and he didn't understand what the problem was. He said that we asked for it medium well and that medium well steaks usually come out like this since it is cooked on the grill. There was nothing he could do even though HE messed up and put in our orders as well done. Usually, when customers complain about burnt steaks, they apologize and take it back to redo it. There was no apology and no acknowledgement of his mistake. Anyways, he took it back and said he would bring it back medium. We thought everything was fine until a manager (?) came over and says in the most condescending tone ever, "The meat?". We were all flustered because she came out of nowhere and it took us a few seconds to realize that this rude employee was speaking to us. My mom tried to speak to her and the employee cut her off and just asks "You speak English?" and I said "Uh I guess you can talk to me." I thought she was going to apologize or something but she just says some b.s. about how it's going to take too long to cook the meals since there are 7-8 steaks cooking already, so she's not sure if she should put in the order to redo it. I'm just so confused because she is being so rude and cannot acknowledge the fact that the waiter messed up the order AND the kitchen doesn't know how to cook medium well steaks even though it's a steakhouse. We have to argue for at least 5 minutes until she reluctantly agrees to put a rush on our orders. Also, the rice ended up being terrible as well because there was so much green onion in there that I could barely dig out any rice. I regret walking into this restaurant and giving it a chance before I looked it up on Yelp. My family and I just wanted a nice meal after driving 10 hours to visit this city, but had to endure this kind of treatment in a foreign place. I'm not sure if the people in this city are rude or the culture is different, but there is nothing wrong about complaining about improperly cooked steaks especially if we're paying $30+ for one meal. Restaurant is in a great area with a great view. Indoor parking just next door not expensive at all. Service was impeccable. Went on a Friday night and presented ourselves one hour before our reservations and was not a problem at all. Steak served exactly as ordered. Temperature perfect. Quick service. We stayed at the hotel for a week. We ate breakfast at the restaurant multiple times and it was wonderful (service, value, overall experience). We decided to go for a Saturday supper and things were very different. There were multiple tables available yet we were taken to a back room with a less than pleasurable atmosphere. A table beside us had complained about the wait time, and then our meal took 40 minutes to arrive as well. When we finally got our meal (we each ordered $24 mushroom ravioli) it was considerably smaller than what you would expect for the price (about 8 pieces) and was served lukewarm. Tourist trap. Don't be fooled by the nice veneer. Pricey and terrible cuisine. At that price, you expect a certain level of quality. Apart from the asparagus, the food was much too salty and bland. I barely touched my plate, but the waiter didn't react when I asked him to take it away. Same thing when I voiced my dissatisfaction. He came back with the bill, which accounted for the whole price.
