a bowl of oatmeal and a plate of fruit

Breakfast was good. Eggs Benedict with salmon was good. The oatmeal was OK, the roasted potatoes could be better. The pancakes were OK I prefer fluffier. The coffee was good.

This is the restaurant inside the Delta hotel in Québec City. I've eaten here twice for convenience' sake and it was a poor experience both times. It's reliably bad. The service is always extremely slow. I dine by myself as a business traveller and I get neglected all the time - it takes SO much effort to flag someone down whenever I need something/want to order/want to settle the bill. The food is made of decent quality ingredients but the way the flavours were designed just don't make much sense to me. First time I was here, I had the house-smoked salmon and duck confit club sandwich. The salmon was nice but it was three tiny pieces for $12. For $3 a bite at such small pieces...I felt it was bad value but it's supposed to be a nicer restaurant and it did taste good, so I let it slide. The club just didn't do anything for me. The meat was breast, which was chewy and tough - thigh/leg would have been better in this type of application. The caramelized onion was too sweet for me - I didn't like how it went together with all the other flavours, in a supposedly primarily savoury sandwich. The sweetness was overbearing. The second time I ate there, I had the lobster penne. The pasta was a little overcooked in my opinion - well past al dente. There was a decent amount of lobster meat in it, given the price. And the garlic, leeks, and white wine went well with the lobster. But WHY were there orange wedges and orange juice in it??? The extra sweetness and tartness just did nothing for the dish - it would have been way better without. I've picked out a couple other places to go for dinner next time, regardless of how late it is. Convenience is not worth the slow service and below par food!

Great service and great selection of breakfast and dinner options. Cozy and great also for just hanging around the bar, watching TV.

Their menu shows alcohol content and their notes. Appetizers only before 5pm, which is what we had. We had the chili appetizer and the French onion soup, and potato wedges with in-house mayo. Chili app was served more on the solid side and served with nacho chips and fixins. Think not of traditional chili soups, but rather chips and dip! French onion soup was rich in flavor, topped with crusted bread and cheese. Our potato wedges were broiled and their mayo was good. Service was friendly and efficient and fast. Interior is casual, clean and comfortable. Would recommend giving this place a shot for a quick drink!

I suspect most of the reviews are based off the beer list and not the food. Let me say service is impeccable and our waiter was amazing. I ordered the cider which was amazing and not sweet but tart. My son ordered the burger and I had the chicken roll for lunch. Both items came with a salad that was delicious. The burger and chicken roll fell short. My son's burger was dry and not flavorful and I could've made myself a much tastier chicken salad at home..... the four stars is definitely for the service and beer. They need to up the food game, but overall a pleasant experience

We came right before the main dining hours so we were able to enjoy the place to ourselves for a short time, but this place filled up in a blink of an eye. By the time we left it was completely full. I ate here with my family and we got to try a variety of dishes. We got the lasagna, the mushroom soup, French onion soup, salad nicoise, and my favorite cigare au choux which is essentially cabbage rolls with tomato soup. I enjoyed each and every dish, but the cigare au choux stole my heart. The service was also fantastic! The woman who helped us was so sweet and patient as my family decided on what to eat. If I ever come back to Quebec City I would definitely dine here again!

All the tables were filled but we were asked to sit at the bar , order a drink and see if a tables opens up. We were fortunate a table became available within a few minutes. We asked our waitress for food recommendations and we went with her recommendations- shepherd's pie and lasagna. It was interesting to watch the food being prepared in the oven/stove behind the bar. The food was very good . The shepherd's pie was true comfort food. It was meat with corn filling and topped with mashed potatoes. It was baked and the potatoes were browned. The lasagna was hearty. Each were served with a side salad. This was a great place to enjoy a meal and drink in an interesting atmosphere.

3.5/5, +.5 for service…read more This was my family's last stop in Quebec City before driving back to Montreal. Q-de-Sac is a restaurant in Old Quebec (lower town) that's more of a bar setting. They have some Quebec staples like poutine and foie gras, and a selection of 10" pizzas available. We came here for lunch and each had a French onion soup. I had a Shack's Poutine by myself, while my mom and dad shared a beef cheek pizza. The French onion soup was a bit salty. I find it intriguing that multiple establishments in Quebec City kept mentioning their onion soups as the "best in town", including this one. This one was good, but I'd give Chez Boulay the crown from all the places I tried. The poutine, on the other hand, was excellent. Will never say no to plentiful cheese curds, and I don't mind foie gras at all. My parents enjoyed the beef cheek pizza, particularly highlighting the BBQ sauce and the smoked beef cheeks. Service was excellent. We arrived around 11:30am and there was one other table taken, but by the time we left around 1pm there was a lineup. Personally I would come back here.
