Simple but amazing. A little off of the beaten path but worth the hassle. Great food. Fantastic wine! Outstanding service. Food as it should be.

Out of basic courtesy, I resisted licking the delicious dripping juices from the baked figs. Gorgeous taste bud satisfying food without pretension. Disappointed that what I wanted to try (squid) weren't on the menu, but grateful for seasonal well cooked dishes. The service was attentive and lovely and they seated us right away even though we were a bit early for their dinner service without a reservation. Very comfortable and welcoming environment. Well cooked and cared fod dishes that were lovely and tasty without the stuffiness of typical high end restaurants. Wonderful staff and located in a residential mixed use area with an adorable bookstore across the street. Highly recommend a reservation, they were kind enough to seat us, and gave us two hours to eat, even without a reservation. English friendly. If I were to live in Paris, I'd frequent it to try their seasonal rotating menus, and incredibly sad I won't be here to try their seasonal specials in the fall-spring. Highly recommend their fruit and fish dishes if you are there this summer. The ingredients are well picked and divinely prepared. The service and cooking here matters and attended to like they really give a damn. Refreshing and completely satisfying dining experience.

One of the best meals of my life. Discovered this place after watching Anthony Bourdain's "Layover" show. Visited Paris for the first time in February 2014. My girlfriend and I made reservations (highly recommended) using our hotel's concierge. The earliest we could acquire a table was 10pm on a Wednesday night. The waiter spoke terrific English and guided us through the custom menu created nightly. I normally do not like any steak "rare". I ordered the steak hoping it would be cooked properly. It was. Best steak ever. Crème brûlée was incredible. Meal price for 6 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers, 2 entrées, and 2 desserts was €129 euros. Pricey, but worth it. Located in a shady neighborhood. Use the "Pryénées" subway line to access the restaurant.

Such a cool place off the beaten path in Paris. We've read reviews and it definitely lives up to the hype. A true farm to table

We stayed next door and the hotel staff recommended this place to us. We came here on our last day in Paris and wish we would have come the first day. We didn't have a reservation and the owner (I think) was able to squeeze us in. We do not try very adventurous foods, but tried the veal ribs and lamb shoulder and were NOT disappointed! This place is in a neighborhood off the beaten path and mostly locals go. You must go here and make sure to have a reservation first.

Omg, I make it a point to come here for dinner at least once for every trip to Paris. My lovely wife picked this place and she hit a grand slam. Dinner here is always perfect and they adjust their menu every time I've been here.

We did not have reservations, but showed up just as they opened, although their tables were booked, they squeezed us in, which was very kind. The menu is unique and changes often, which is great. We had raviolis and artichokes to start, which were out of this world good! My wife and I decided to be brave and try sweetbread for the first time. It was amazingly good! Our waitress translated the menu for us and was very patient. I can't recommend them enough. I'm not sure how making reservations will go if you only speak English (I assume it would be fine), but that would be a good idea as it fills up quick. And for very good reason, the food and service was excellent. If we make our way back through Paris again, this will be on our stop. Thank you!!!

Le Baratin was exquisite. Service was relaxed not stuffy and perfect. The food was simply amazing. Appetizer of Raw Seabass with Japanese vinegar tomato and orange was stellar. With touches of mint. Maincourse was a black pig slow roasted til meltingly tender with Pimenton. This married couple really knows how to do it right. Wonderful hosts.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

I wanted to try traditional French food and this place seemed to have really good reviews about it. We decided to stop by at the end of our day for some drinks and for me to enjoy duck confi. When we got there and asked for a food menu they informed us the kitchen had just closed. I was really disappointed we had just missed the service by 30 minutes but we decided to stay and order drinks anyways. After everything me and my friend had gone through to make our way to Paris the experience we had at L'escargot almost ALMOST made up for everything that had gone wrong. Me and my friend had a blast at this bar!! The bartenders spoke english and answered all our questions, they were extremely friendly and the drinks were cheap. The locals at this bar were so amazing as well. They did not speak fluent english but they did make an effort to speak to us and share their bar snacks with us. There was a group of locals celebrating a birthday party and they were dancing and were pulling people off their seats to dance with them. At one point in the night a group of other locals and tourist came in and the atmosphere in this bar got even more vibrant. Like I mentioned before the amazing experience we had in this bar almost made up for all the things that went wrong on our trip to Paris. When I go back and if I am in the area I would love to go back and have another great night like this. If you are in the area I would highly suggest you go just for the ambiance.
