If Le Ando's was capable of receiving 10 stars, I would have given them all 10. I decided on two because of my latest visit, and most likely my last.
Let's start with, I myself am a server. Have been for a very long time. I know the difference between excellent service, mediocre service, and terrible service. I do not expect over the top service in this restaurant because it is a very small diner. But I do expect some respect from a server that you are tipping your hard earned money, so that they can earn their hard earned money and pay their bills. Trust me, I do it. I respect everyone that pays me, even if they are a table from hell.
This restaurant is my Go-To when it comes to breakfast and lunch, I am there one to two times a week. With that being said, here is my problem. My family and I were visiting with my aunt that was in town from Pennsylvania that we have not seen in over two years. We really wanted to "wow" her with a trip to Le Ando's for breakfast. To start, it was Sunday morning at 8:30, and there were about 6 other open tables in the place when there's probably only 15 in the whole restaurant. It took someone over 15 minutes to greet us to get our drink order, and another 10 to receive them. As a server, I know right off the bat that this is unacceptable. I didn't catch the servers name, but she was a heavier set woman with short blonde hair, and was wearing a purple shirt. I asked her for a large OJ.... She never brought it. Once my food was out I had to ask ANOTHER employee to please get me my orange juice I ordered a half hour ago.... She was at least apologetic about it. My aunt also ordered rye toast, and when it came out you could tell it wasn't rye and we said, "I don't think that is rye toast" and she said it was. Definitely wasn't. She just didn't want to fix a mistake. At this point, we are aggravated because you can tell she just didn't care and that we were a bother to her. Before we were done eating, all of our checks were dropped on the table.... We paid, but like I said, have not seen my aunt in over two years. We were catching up and left around 10:30. But why did we leave? BECAUSE OUR SERVER ASKED US TOO. To me, that is TERRIBLE customer service, and flat out rude. My mother ended up going to the cash register and complaining to the young girl working. And on our way out the server got mouthy with my mom! Are you kidding me!?!? Like I said, I have been in this restaurant over 10 times, I have met the owner, I have received impeccable service before and it keeps me coming back. My food is always excellent. This server has completely ruined the Le Ando's experience for me, and with how rude she was to my family and I, and if I decide to ever go back and she just so happens to be my server, I will request another or leave because I cannot believe for someone that is collecting a generous tip that I ALWAYS leave, has the nerve to be rude does not deserve to be working in the industry. read more
