    Lanza Spinach and Artichoke Pizza

I went to Lanza at lunch and ordered a spinach and artichoke pizza. I asked for extra garlic and onions. The pizza had no artichokes. I also wanted Gorgonzola cheese, but they don't even carry it. I was trying to recreate a totally delicious pizza that I used to buy at 600 Degree Pizza in Georgetown , TX. The pizza I received had NO taste. It was just this big slab of mozzarella cheese. Regrettably, I ate one piece, but will throw out the rest of it. Now that I think about it, there was not even the smell you expect in a pizzeria. I am wondering if they are frozen. The lady who helped me was nice. It is pretty incredible that Lanza has all of these 4 and 5 star reviews. Maybe the pizzas with red sauce are better. I hope. I will not be going back.

Medium New England pizza with New Haven crust

As a born & bred New Yorker, I'm very particular about my pizza. Lazza definitely met my expectations with their specialty pies - New England & Bologna. The crust were thin & cooked perfectly. Seasoning was perfect. The New England was the closest I've had to Frank Pepe's white clam pizza. The Bologna had generous slices of mortadella with burrata on top of a yummy pistachio pesto sauce. The only disappointment is that Lazza is take out only with no seating & no dine-in so the ambience is that of a Little Caesars. There's very little space to wait for your order. The service we had was fine. We ordered online ahead of time since the queue to order can be pretty hectic. Regardless, Lazza will definitely be one of our go-tos for pizza night as we would love to try their other pies etc....

    Pepperoni and sausage pizza.

First the good. The place was certainly clean and the lady who took my order was very nice. The pizza was finished quickly and piping hot when I received it. Mixed reviews on the pizza itself though. The crust was fresh and tasted that way, though not altogether flavorful. The pepperoni and sausage made up for the flavor, though, and tasted great. I also really liked that the cheese fully covered the sauce. That's getting rarer nowadays. I had 2 issues with it, though. The first was how skimpy it was toppings wise. I actually had a slice with only one pepperoni on it. The other was how greasy it was. I know pepperoni and sausage is going to have some grease but it's my go to order and I've rarely had it be this greasy, especially considering the small amount of toppings. I understand why people are being so skimpy on toppings nowadays but I'd be happy to pay more for a more fully loaded, and less greasy, pizza if they need it to cover food cost.

So glad we found Lazza pizza! Very friendly staff, the pizza is great! We have also had the rice balls (arancini), garlic knots and eggplant parm. All were great! We will definitely be regulars!

    Chicken parmigiana pizza

The pizza was good overall, but the prices were a bit on the higher side. We tried the eggplant parmesan pizza and the chicken parmesan pizza. Unfortunately, the eggplant was dry, and the chicken parmesan slice had just about one strip of chicken cutlet spread thinly across the pizza. It didn't really match what you'd expect from a true New York-style specialty slice. Based on the menu descriptions, we were expecting more, and it felt like they put in the bare minimum to meet the specialty labels. The quality didn't match the price point, leaving the experience underwhelming. At this price, there's not much room for disappointing execution. The service was nice but there was a wait after calling it in! Inside was pretty small and standard. Not much of a wait area.

The birthday girl turned 94 and it was her first time at Rigos. She loved it and is looking forward to returning. She chose the lasagna that came with bread and salad. I got the bolognese pasta that also comes with bread and salad. The salads were fresh and a good size for a side salad. There's a wide choice of dressings and a Caesar salad as well. The salads and hot bread came out first then a short time later the entrees. Both entrees were delivered quickly and hot. Both were delicious.. The drinks are self serve and the choices are sodas and tea. When they found out it was her birthday they insisted she chose a dessert . She chose the cheesecake and shared with me and it was wonderful. Thanks to the staff for making this special birthday a great treat for our family.

I was about to order 2 but ended up buying only 1 after being surprised to see that price spiked to $35. It's not like they added any premium ingredients or enhanced it any way. Yeah, it's specialty good but not worth $35 in my book. On top of that, there's a $2 service fee for a pick up order, and when asked to get extra masala sauce and garlic sauce, I got charged extra for those on top of the overpriced pizza. Final bill reached to about $44. For that amount, I could get 2 Extra Large pizzas at Marco's. As much as I love Rigo's Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, I just think the price increase is ridiculous. At least 1 small container of garlic sauce should be complimentary (like Marco's) but can't believe they charged me extra for that. The lady at the cashier was friendly, and gave me some crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese for free, so that part was nice, but sadly, I probably won't be returning to Rigo's anytime soon after this disappointing experience. Ambiance is small and casual space so Rigo's is more ideal for take out. | Overall Score: 3.4/5

I really like their meatballs. Definitely ask the price of a side of marinara before you order it. It's good but expensive. Service is inconsistent. Other times we've been here we had servers that seemed to have no interest in being there. I don't know if this is still the case, but if you order a slice to go, they don't let you sit outside and eat it at one of their tables, even if they're not crowded. For a while they had some cheesy (no pun intended) hand written signs telling you not to sit at the tables. It said outside seating is for customers only or something like that. And it was unclear that meant outside tables are for full service dining only. I can see if people were waiting to be seated or you were trying to eat food from another restaurant there. It seemed weird to get chased away for being their customer. If you're getting a slice to go you hopefully would be there 15-20 minutes at most. It was so off-putting I have to include it in the review even though it happened a while ago. Just set your expectations...pizza is 5 stars, service is 3-4 stars, cost 3 stars.

It's super thin so prepare to want more, but flavor was decent, not amazing. If I told a girl I was 6'2" and showed up to the date at 4'10", I'm pretty sure there'd be a problem...so, think about this nonsense and imagining you thought that was ok to serve to a customer. ‍

Of course, I could drive to local grocery store and get a frozen one and bake it at home.....but I was quite hungry! It took longer getting directions between a Nav and phone sync. Surprisingly, Mezza Luna is actually conveniently located in a short trip! I arrived in person and walked to the counter. I was greeted promptly and the guy was answering 2 phones and taking orders and gave me options based on time and wait for pizza. He did not realize that I was looking for gluten free and got a gentleman to help me. My apologies, as I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't catch his name and how long he said it would be. Regardless, I am a patient person and waited. The gentleman brought the pizza box and handed it to me. The inside restaurant has positioned seating to utilize the space very well. As the clock approaches 5 o'clock, the regular patrons come in and the guy at the counter acknowledges each person even by name. Back to my gluten free pizza.... I did say "thank you, smells amazing " hoping they heard me as this was my first visit. Fortunately, I have self-control and didn't peek until I got home. The plan was to eat half, then reheat other half to determine......besides smelling and seeing the fresh ingredients...no need to add any seasoning! Please don't judge...but I finished it myself! It was quite tasty. Ambiance 4 stars, quaint feels like good gathering spot Customer service 5 stars keep it up Quality 5 stars Quantity 4 stars no leftovers Prices 4 stars for regular (3 stars for gluten free) no deduction Overall 4.5 stars and try again to see if rating is a solid 5. Honestly, I was surprised being able to finish it and how delicious as gluten free is not always easy to make. I forgot to ask about the meatballs..are they only beef? If so, if I call or stop in a day or so in advance, could you consider making 4 meatballs no gluten maybe using cheese instead to taste? I saw hand cut fries...might need to give that a try. ;) No worries about the gluten and sans pork for me too, sorry. If you have a gluten free baguette that would pair well for me or I can pick one up! Thanks....you may see me again soon! Update with pics: disappointed overcooked both crust and cheese!

Sat in 5-10min on a Friday night. Dillon did great with our service. Ordered the Regina Colletta pizza, and the brown butter ravioli also got the polpette and foccacia. Overall we were very impressed with this place, we ordered dishes that are harder to make, since we love to cook ourselves and they did an amazing. We'll be back for other staples for sure. Main critique I would say is the Pizza, we wouldn't order that flavor again but it was still very good. The balsamic isn't too strong. We just prefer simpler pizza and more well done. But the pizza we feel has the best value. Mushroom ravioli has amazing flavor, deep, rich, all working very well. However, We'll just order more classic dishes next time like the clam spaghetti, chicken parm, you can't go wrong here really.... All in all 9/10 experience, 4.5 starts if I could give that. Ambiance is cute and casual but chic because of the low lighting and the cleanliness. There are three levels of seating, tables, raised booths, and the bar tops. It's great bc it diffuses the noise. The business was packed that night but the noise level was still good enough to hold conversations. Servers and waitresses all look sharps And the place has an open kitchen. Since we love cooking we'll try to sit so we can see it next time. There's also A bar to the right side with a view of the skating rink. I cannot stress enough that the team is doing an amazing job. Obviously the cooks are amazing, the hostesses were so sweet and down to earth, and the servers knocked it out the park. Very memorable anniversary. Thanks Colletta Team!
