This was our first time here. Decided to check it out since its opening a few months ago and we see lots of cars parked outside. Our server was Maddie (sorry not sure of spelling) and she was super friendly and accommodating. We sat outside for the views of the river. There was live music playing on the other side of the outdoor space but we could still hear it. The food was good. I had the lobster bisque which I loved but the lobster roll was just meh. Maybe because I've had Maine lobster rolls but it wasnt that bad. It did have a lot of lobster meat. My hubby had the fried seafood platter (?) And he liked it. The drinks were good too. Firstly, it's a tiki bar restaurant but it had valet parking. The lot out front has plenty of spaces, so that didn't make sense, except a rip-off of your money! The place was decorated like a tiki bar/ cute but big clunky chairs leftover from a different restaurant Didn't match the theme. We arrived earlier than our party so we got a drink at the bar-asked for a lemon drop martini-awful! I think the 18 year old making it just put lemon juice in a glass. Bleh! Should've stuck with beer! Our friends showed up, so we were given a table. Nice friendly waitress, plus a waitress in training. They seemed super busy, so it took a while to order-30-35 min. They did answer our menu questions. We ordered appetizers and they both had super spicy sauce on or in them. Just be aware of the heat in case you're not used to it. There were tall beer glasses on the table with a bottle of bubble water room temp so after our drink order, the waitress took those away.?. ‍ They could have been infected by a customer's germs Cuz they sat on the table 15 +min.? Right near our table was their prep area for salads and orders ready for the tables. Well, anyone walking in or out walks right past the food and if they cough or have dog or cat hair on them, the food is easily contaminated! Even a fake wall or room divider would help. The food did take a while, but they were very busy. Two of us ordered Cobb salads and theirs was twice the size of mine. So, inconsistent sizing. It came with blue cheese crumbles and was topped with mayonnaise! Nasty! Plus, mine had the root of the lettuce that I needed a sharp knife to cut into and I had to ask twice for a sharp knife. My friend said this place had been open a month; but I'd expect these problems to be worked out at a soft opening. While we really like the outdoor deck seating and the food was very good and service exceptional, I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars for 2 reasons. The lobster soup in the bread bowl is EXTREMELY salty. If you are a senior thus is difficult to eat. The 2nd reason is the pricing of this soup. The menu says soup is $10 but soup with addition lobster meat (2 SMALL pieces) is $20. Overall we were charged $30 ($10 + $20). The pricing needs to be explained better. As a former customer service supervisor, I would have deducted the $10 to keep good will. I am really struggling with this review. I live close and was so hoping this would be a great place. The view is fabulous. This review doesn't come easy. I understand that any place starting out will have some areas where they struggle and I didn't want to write anything until I gave them a fair chance. I have been back now 4 times since opening. Yes I was there on opening day. Here is my assessment: Location and view: Awesome. Nothing better. There are three places near me that have this, Yellow Dog, Shack, and Lazy Turtle. All are comparable views. Menu: I was really excited when I saw the menu on opening day. A lot of the food I love and a lot the other places don't offer; Clams on the half shell, can't find that anywhere near. Oysters on half shell. Again, the only one close to me that offers this. Also things like lamb lollypops and other unique on the menu that got me excited. The Food: As good as the menu looks, the food is NOT. I love oysters and tried them the first three time there. First time they were ok, after that, HORRIBLE. I had a couple and turned them back. Interesting that the first time I sent them back they took off my bill. On another visit when I sent them back they would not take off the check. Clams were fantastic. Tonight I had their fried jumbo shrimp. Not good. Very greasy as were the fries that came with them. Drinks: They have a good drink menu. If your order white wine and expect it to be cold, ask them to get it from inside. The outside cooler just doesn't seem to get the wine cold. They gave me ice to put in my wine, but that just waters it down. A glass from inside was much better. Outside Tiki Bar: Again great view but very uncomfortable seats at the bar. I am sure the outside tables are better. My recommendation: I seriously hope they get their stuff together because this could be a great place. The menu looks good, but execution is bad. Told us to sit where we liked. we got sat down and waited 15 minutes and didn't see the waitress once. Last week when I went, lobster bisque is great. Food was okay and took 45 minutes to come out. The view is amazing! the staff is slow but understandable the food is decent like maybe a 6.8/10. Drinks are good. Menu kinda pricey but you are paying for ambience and its worth it. Go at sunset. But anytime would be beautiful but you know how Florida sun can stroke you, so watch out. Go early the parking lot can seem crowded if you are old and/or just have have crap vision. read more

We visited on a Tuesday night for dinner. It was raining so unfortunately couldn't sit outside, but opted to sit at the bar (we usually do.. there was definitely space for us in regular dining, this is just what we prefer). The restaurant and decor itself is very nice, fits the theme of an "upscale tiki bar". Staff was very friendly and polite. We've been waiting so long for this place to open. My boyfriend and I go out to eat nearly every weekend and consider ourselves foodies.. which is the only prerequisites we have to give a food review so here it goes.. overall, our experience was OK. I think we will give it a few months before we visit again, however we have high hopes the restaurant will become a place we will frequent... We started with the conch fritters appetizer, it was good, served with a yummy dipping sauce but I think we just both don't prefer conch (was a little rubbery, but I don't think that was the kitchens fault). No complaints really here, other than the fried conch was served over a bed of French fries.. which we thought was a bit strange (mostly just that the fries were probably unnecessary). I ordered the steak and cheese sandwich - I really enjoyed the flavors, but thought the bread could have been toasted (just a little!) to make it perfect. My boyfriend got the tacos, which he said overall were pretty good, no complaints.. other than the online menu said it came with a sauce but in person did not. I got the regular fries with my meal, they were great. Boyfriend ordered sweet potato fries.. still unsure if he actually got the sweet potato fries as it was difficult to tell the difference between ours other than looks. Overall, food was good. However, we did both order a side of ranch for our fries... it was so runny and watery, almost inedible. It seemed like they made a batch of ranch and added a bunch of water to it to cut down cost. Also.. we noticed the online menu varies slightly from the actual one at the restaurant (some items missing, also the tacos online have the option between tuna, chicken, shrimp but at the restaurant the only option was Mahi). Some other minor things we noticed.. my Chardonnay was served in a champagne flute (I could care less, just never seen that before and I know some people might be picky about it), there was a 4% charge to use a credit card (not the end of the world, however would have been nice if the bartender mentioned it before we paid), the inside bar only has one POS system, so bartenders kept having to wait in line for one another (again, no biggie for us.. just something we noticed and hopefully after a few months in business they can get a second), and one last thing that really actually bothered us... we witnessed an employee cough directly into his hands who was picking up drinks from the bar to serve to tables, it was unprofessional and unsanitary to say the least. Overall, we really hope this place is successful.. it's a great space with awesome potential, and we recognize newly opened restaurants have a lot of ups and downs when first opening.. Which is why we're giving such a lengthy review. We will hopefully be back.. Just maybe after a few months once the staff has figured things out a bit more. Best of luck to the owners. read more

Hostess first told us patio not available. Then she went and checked and came back and said it was now ok to just sit anywhere. She didn't take us there either. We were seated about 15 minutes with multiple servers ignoring us! Finally we asked for service and said someone would be over shortly. A server came by 5 minutes later explaining that we were her only table outside and her other tables were far away so it might take her longer to get to us. We ordered drinks and water. 3 of our 4 drinks came and no water. Finally last drink arrived but no water yet. We ordered our food and asked about water again. My clam chowder came out it was luke warm and clams were so chewy and uneditable. Water finally arrived by another server? 3 of our meals arrived however we had no silverware. Now we asked any worker walking by for silverware meanwhile food was getting cold. Our server came by with 2 unwrapped forks and said the 4th meal would be out in 6 minutes. Now decided things were going awful and decided to leave. This entire restaurant needs to be retrained. No way to treat customers. read more

The restaurant as of last night has been open 30 days per our conversation with the staff. We live near the restaurant and were excited to check out a new place especially since it was on the River. Our appetizers (Coconut Shrimp and Chicken Wings) were good but took 45 minutes to prepare. We were told that they have been short staffed since their opening a month ago. My wife's entree (Broiled Lazy Skipper which includes Broiled Snapper, Shrimp and Scallops) was just average. The fish is prepared lightly blackened but it didn't have much seasoning. The coconut flavored rice lacked flavor. My daughter had the Caribbean Blackened Mahi which was decent. I had the same entree as my wife. I agree that it need more seasoning as the food was bland for a recipe that calls for it to be blackened with a lemon pan sauce. As many others have said in other posts, the decor is great and the view is wonderful. Also, I understand that the restaurant is still working out the kinks in its first month and is short staffed but what really UPSET me was the additional 4% credit card charge that was not mentioned by the server. Typically credit card charges paid by the merchant will average around 2% which raises the question on how they arrived at 4%. Apparently it is additional profit to the restaurant. Assuming that a majority of customers pay by credit card this can result in some nice gravy for the operation on a monthly basis. When I asked the manager she indicated that she didn't have anything to do with it and wasn't given much say in the matter. The server told me that it was disclosed on the menu but that was irrelevant plus I didn't have enough cash to cover the large bill. I told the manager that this was a nice restaurant and that the patrons who noticed the fee on their bill wouldn't be happy meaning this isn't good for business. She offered me a free dessert but I declined since that wasn't my intent. She was nice but appeared ambivalent. So here is an idea....take the additional profit from the fees and pay the employees more as a result and just maybe they will solve their staffing problem. I am not sure if I will return since I feel that these fees are unnecessary for a higher end restaurant and they are simply taking advantage of their customers!! read more
