One of the best sushi experiences I've had in Florida. This is a must if you love sushi, a little skeptical and must have it cooked or simply afraid. They have something for everyone to be happy! The lobster dish (can't remember the name) was unlike anything ive seen before. It was somewhere between lobster tempura sushi and lobster tempura. It was very light, crispy, super flavorful. This would impress family or a date in a more romantic sense. Whats not romantic is the endless bento box. Sushi rolls, three kinds of sashimi, soup, then your teriyaki dish with veggies. By the time I got through my salmon and roll, I felt like I was in an eating competition. Being absolutely delicious helped me make it through, but it may be better to get a single bento box, the lobster dish, and another roll you may want to try for 2. To top off everything, the staff are extremely nice and attentive. It was like there wasnt a full house of patrons. This will be my designated sushi spot! read more

EXCELLENT! Everything we order is top of the line and supreme. We've dined in and we've taken out and both ways we were quite pleased. Highly recommend! read more

Food was delicious. The staff were very polite and courteous. The rolls were the biggest I have ever seen. The ambiance was very and matched a restaurant that cooks sushi. I don't understand the whiners that gave bad reviews. We had nothing but great everything. Thank you for making our night feel special. We definitely will be back Thank you read more

Second time and they did great again. We ordered up the pad Thai bento lunch special and a JM roll (tuna, cream cheeses and avocado) All of it was great. Our server was attentive and the food came out quickly. Note it is a small space. 6 booths and three tables. But it is small but mighty. Protip: it is a lot of food. We ordered less based off our first visit. But still could not finish it all. read more

It's intimate... :-) Some outdoor seating when it's opened up. Not ideal for large parties, but they might be able to make it work with some creativity. Party of 4 is ok though. I like it for a lunch meet up. Food is delicious, staff are friendly. They do call ahead catering orders too from what I heard, just call to hear what they offer. Food has been delicious each time. Good amount of food per order. We could have probably been fine sharing 1 lunch order with the appetizers. We have gone more than once now, and will continue to go. We place to go orders from them more than eating in. :-) read more

First time trying this place. Very small - 6 tables on the inside and a few outside. The restaurant inside seemed very clean and new. I order 2 sushi rolls for the lunch menu. The only soup available on the weekends is miso. My sushi was good - I order a spicy tuna roll and a JM roll. My only complaint is that it had a lot of rice and that my "spicy tuna roll" wasn't actually spicy tuna. It was just regular salmon with spicy mayo on top of it. My server was very kind and attentive and the outdoor area was very clean. read more

Always great service. Their sushi is excellent and bigger portions than most local competing restaurants. It is not a large restaurant but it is quaint and relaxing vibe. If you live nearby please support this local establishment. read more

Stopped by 30 mins before closing as I was craving some sushi and they did not disappoint the service was excellent!! The ambiance is amazing and cozy makes you feel right at home and the food omg so good. I had them make me something that wasn't on the menu and they did it with no problem. Oh my goodness, this place is phenomenal! The sushi is fresh & flavorful, and the presentation is gorgeous. Everything comes out super fast! The hot dishes were served with generous portions....and the Crunchy Volcano Roll? Honestly, it's the best sushi roll I have ever eaten in my life Crispy, creamy, savory perfection in every bite! I'm thrilled this gem is less than five minutes from my house, dangerous discovery, because I will definitely be back (probably way too often). The space is small, but the quick table turnover and cozy vibe make it feel charming and intimate rather than cramped. A must-try spot for sushi lovers in Viera! read more

Sushi Kawa Restaurant - Crunchy Volcano Roll - Sushi Bars Near Me - Melbourne, Florida

Sushi Kawa is very close to us so we were hoping that it would be a good experience. And, it was! We ordered the Sushi Boat for 2 and a Shrimp Tempura roll. All of the fish was fresh and plentiful, and, the boat had a good selection of sushi and sashimi - Tuna, Salmon, Escolar, and Hamachi. My only comment is that all of the sushi and sashimi pieces are rather big - not a problem for me but we're a little more challenging for my wife. A good selection of reasonably prices beers round out the experience. Service was great and friendly and they work hard to keep things moving. As others have commented, the restaurant is very small and was full by 6pm on a Thursday night. The outdoor space helps but you need to get there early if you want a table inside. Also, it did get a bit cool in the dining room so you may want to bring a jacket if you're sensitive to the cold... We will definitely be going back for more sushi and to try out their Thai and Japanese foods. read more

If you're looking for something quick and satisfying, I would go here. I'm huge on Thai and was excited to see this place while visiting Melbourne. The restaurant is incredibly tiny but it didn't feel crowded as there was only one other group in here. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the service was decent. We ordered the soft shell crab dish as an appetizer and were sad to find that it was incredibly fishy. There were unwanted parts of the crab that seemed to be left in while cooking. This made it hard to eat. We then had curry for our main dish and thought one was too thick and the other was runny. The red curry was more like soup and the panang was too thick. I also did not like the shrimp tail shell being left on. It made it difficult to eat. We also ordered Thai tea and I enjoyed it. We ordered the milk separately thinking it would help with the sweetness, but quickly realized they didn't use condensed milk in their recipe. Overall, I would try this place out. There aren't many choices in Melbourne, but this one is decent read more

First time experience excellent! Friendly people and really good food! Noodle soup and spring rolls great, my Honey Sesame chicken was laid over a wonderful bed of fresh vegetables and a smooth, very tasty sauce. I added steamed rice noodles and the combination was awesome! Definitely give Sushi Kawa a try! Our booth was very comfortable and made eating there a pleasure! read more

Consistent great food. Amazing selection choices. Offers gluten free options as well. Jenny is the best!! One of our favorite restaurants!!

Faye ushered the most amazing sushi dining experience I have had in years! The quality and quantity of the Chef's choice Sashimi Dinner by far exceeded anything I have had to date! Our dear sushi-loving friends accompanied us to our inaugural visit and were completely amazed at the quality and quantity of their sushi rolls. We are looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend Sushi Kawa to anyone who appreciates this kind of fine cuisine read more

Brand new sushi place in Viera.. you walk in and wow it's tiny inside! While waiting for a table many people walked in, saw it filled up and how small it was and walked out. You should expect to wait if you come here. There are ten tables, six inside and four outside. The place just opened so I was fully expecting some slower service and kinks needing to be worked out. The menu is huge and it seems the take out orders were getting priority over the customers inside the restaurant. They only had two people working outside of the kitchen, one of which was actually running around the restaurant. There was a lot of waiting for the drinks, and the food but like I said I expected that due to them just opening. I will return to give this place another try in a few weeks to see if they have figured everything out. The food was okay, it's nothing to rave about. Again, I am being optimistic and that it will be better once they have been open for a few weeks and maybe cut down the large menu. read more

The food was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely go back. The prices were very reasonable.

EXTREMELY SLOW, staff do not care either. No one didn't anything to speed up the process.

This is the best local sushi ever. I have tried several different roles in each have been as delicious as the last. Service is excellent and everybody that is their helping is friendly and kind. The restaurant is itself not being huge inside is decorated beautifully and so clean and fresh. A friend and I went recently, and she had a vegetable curry that she said was the best she ever had. I can definitely recommend this restaurant. I know that once word gets out you will need a reservation. read more

Sushi Kawa is a great little sushi place in Viera with decent prices fresh food and good service. Atmosphere is also clean and welcoming. Sushi rolls are a little too big and sometimes the rolls taste the same as the one next to it even though they are different, which I found strange, hence the 4 instead of 5 start review. Overall a great sushi place for the Viera area that we will continue to visit. read more

The food was great. The small studio was slammed. The servers and staff were struggling to keep up. Take away is probably the way to go untill they get some more help on the floor. The best Pad Thai in over 20 years for us. The sushi rolls were great too just don't go at peak time... read more

Wonderful! The service and the food were fantastic! It's small inside, but they have outdoor seating as well. They have a large menu with lots of options. And they were very accommodating with food allergies as well. read more

A solid spot for the area and conveniently close to the subdivision. In true Viera fashion, taking your golf cart to Sushi Kawa should be a tradition. Unlike other Asian restaurants nearby, Sushi Kawa has surprisingly good ventilation, no lingering heavy odors, which is a welcome change. Hopefully, it stays that way. The lobby is small, but the staff does a great job accommodating all party sizes. They're constantly rearranging tables and chairs to make it work. It might raise some questions about fire codes, but so far, it seems to be effective. The food is consistently good, fresh, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. We were a bit let down that yellow curry wasn't on the menu, but the Panang Curry (chicken) was absolutely delicious. It was also refreshing to enjoy a curry in Brevard without pineapple...we're not sure why that's a trend here and why most Thai places do not allow you to modify your order without it. We'll definitely be back for the great service and that amazing Panang chicken curry! read more

The restaurant is very small inside and cannot sit very many. We were lucky and got sat at the last table right as we walked in and all decided in the end the place would not be worth waiting for if a table was not open. Service was very slow and the timing of the food was not right. At any point in time during the meal one of our group of four did not have what they ordered for apps or the main meal and we took turns watching each other eat wondering where the missing order was at. It took an hour and twenty minutes from the time we sat down to when our sushi started coming out in sporadic bursts. The sushi itself was good but compared to other sushi places within Brevard it was mediocre. They just opened so they may be working through their business flow still but until they have more time to work on the meal and service timing kinks it's best to pass on this place. read more

Food & service definitely deserves 5 stars. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and taste.

Food is amazingly good. Best Sushi we've had for a while. This view is obviously shared with many as it is always full.

Best sushi I've had in brevard! I have been here a few times and it's always great! Highly recommend.

Great service. Very kind staff. The food here is DA BOMB. I love sushi and go to a lot of sushi restaurants around the cocoa beach Merritt Island area and this is by far my favorite. Get the Fuji san Japanese appetizer and the lobster bomb roll you won't be disappointed. read more

First time visiting this restaurant and ordered takeout. It felt a bit off walking in through the patrons eating to get to the counter at the end of the room. I had a friendly greeting and restaurant seemed clean which should be expected because it is newly opened. I placed my order and was told 15 minutes. The very small dining room was full but seemed like that was reasonable. I came back and order was not ready until approximately 30 minutes. Which wasn't bad but they said they were packing it up when I came in so I stood waiting in that small area in front of the bathrooms by their counter. I would have liked to been told it would be about another 15 minutes and I would have waited outside until it was time. I had the Kee-mao and my wife had the Vegetable LoMein. Both were very tasty. The Kee-Mao noodles were virtually unidentifiable because they must have been so overcooked they disintegrated into a mushy soup like substance. Which my wife's LoMein noodles were very soft it made sense that they overcook the noodles. Only other negative is that the portion size seemed small for the price. I added a picture of the Kee-Mao, I did take two bites before I thought to take the picture. read more

The food was amazing. Service was also superb. They also have specials for lunch. Try it out!

Me and my mother ordered takeout chicken pad thai and shrimp tempura rolls. Instead of tempura rolls, we got 2 whole shrimp tempura (not sushi) appetizers. The pad thai was very vinegary and there was more breaded and fried carrots in the shrimp tempura than there was actual shrimp. Also for some reason it came with onion rings which also didn't taste right. read more
