Just like Mexican restaurant reviews, generalized Asian restaurants have become a dime a dozen, and most do a decent to good job. Ergo, being such, for them, has become the "new average." As for Ruby Asian Taste, I have never eaten here before and was suggested to this restaurant from the ladies I spend lunchtime with after church on Sundays. So, was it good? Well... it was passably good, but a las, it generally fits the "dime a dozen" category of Asian restaurants, even though it tries to be everything, too. Located in the Publix Plaxa just south of Melbourne High School, Ruby Asian Taste (which I will shorthand to Ruby's for the remainder of this review) is marketed as having every Asian food available. What that means is they have more than one Asian cuisine, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Korean. As a matter of fact, they had three different menus, loaded with options. Upon entering the restaurant, it looked like your typical walk-in New York Style Chinese food restaurant is often seen next to a Publix here in Florida. Simple tables, simple chairs, no fancy wait service, etc. At least everything was clean. I ordered three different food options, primarily Japanese. I got the takoyaki and kaaragi. The former, being fried dough balls with a piece of octopus inside, and the latter, being Japanese-style fried chicken, were both good, but they were nothing extraordinary. My church lady friends ordered chicken and mixed veggies with white rice and crab rangoon. They were good, but nothing extraordinary either. On a sidenote: the men's restroom was decent. It is clean and simple but needs an upgrade. You can do your business without having to be disgusted. Ultimately, Ruby's is okay. It was not my first choice, but a choice that I would consider if need be. My suggestion is Ruby's simplify their menu. I think having so many options stretches them thin a bit and thus their food would be average. Ruby's can still be an everything Asian restaurant, but maybe limit some of the options. read more

Shrimp egg-roll and mei fun with sautéed broccoli was fresh and delicious! Generous amounts of eggs, shrimp and veggies in mei fun. The sauce on the broccoli is actually garlicky and not thick and oysterly. Egg-roll was freshly made and not oily and soggy. People very nice and welcoming when you order and pickup! We placed a fairly large order online, Beef & Broccoli, General Tso's, Hunan Beef, Garlic Chicken, pork fried rice and Hot & sour soup. Our order was ready in about 20 minutes. Our order was for carry out and the meals were packaged well for travel. We served everything Buffet style at home. All 4 people in our group said they would order from Ruby Asian again. As for the ambiance, not much clean but sparse. I saw a review stating that the cook and kitchen area did not meet cleanliness standards. I did not notice this myself but will look for it in the future. Very convenient to our house for quick carry out. We will be back. read more

I was skeptical on trying the place based on other reviews but I'm glad I did. I only had roast pork egg foo young and an appetizer but they were both good. Better than some other place's I've eaten at in Orlando where I live. I work here very often and stay near by so I would most likely eat here again. read more

Seems like a new place and has potential. Did not try any of the food so I will not speak on any of that I went there solely for the boba. My order was messed up and yes I could have had it fixed but did not feel like waiting for all that. I had ordered Mango tea with coconut boba but got mango tea alone and coconut tea with boba. The employees were kind but the boba was subpar. I would not recommend their boba but their food is a mystery to me as I didn't try it. Bought food sat there until finished, meanwhile the person cooking the food is hacking, and spitting phlegm in napkins and spitting in the trash can, I was so disgusted, I started heaving and ran out the restaurant. Meanwhile my husband got the food, took it to hotel and left the whole bag in the trash bin. I just couldn't eat after hearing all that and seeing the same person cooking the food. My daughter recommended this place for the ramen. We ordered on Uber eats for pick up. I went to picked it up with my daughter's phone for the proof of the order of $60+ . The lady at the register screamed at me and my daughter about some issues she had in the past with Uber. Even after providing proof it was our order she still continue to be very loud and rude. The food was cold after all the yelling and proof we had to provide to the woman and a man at the register. I will never again pay money at a place who speaks to customers that way.
