When we had first walked-in, we were surprised to see how small the restaurant was. However, we then noticed that most of the guests were doing take-out as opposed to dine-in. We were able to find a table for four, which was perfect for us. When we walked-up to the front counter to place our order, we were greeted by a kind hostess, whom took our orders without any issue. We then sat down, and watched as our orders were being prepared. We had to wait about fifteen minutes for all of our meals to be ready. We were surprised to see that the margarita pizza had olives on it, despite not seeing it on the menu. However, we just scooped them off since my children didn't want to eat the olives. For the falafel and kabab wraps, we were surprised to see how large they were, and for only $10.00! The kabab wrap (which I had asked for without onions), had two large pieces of kabab, which filled the wrap, along with the sumac and tomatoes. I enjoyed how tasty the wrap tasted, along with how filling it was. My mother also commented on how delicious the falafel tasted. Considering the prices that we had paid, we certainly go our money's worth! The service was also excellent, as we were brought our wraps directly to our table, while the pizza was placed on the table near to our table. Everyone was kind and considerate, making our stay a pleasant one. There were so many menu items to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down. Will definitely be back to try other items the next time around!

The first time I ordered was about two years ago during Ramadan. We were fasting, and at the last minute my uncle called to say he was coming over to break fast with us. I think I placed the order only about an hour before iftar, expecting it to be rushed or average at best. Instead, the food arrived fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted like it had been cooked with care. The flavors were incredible, and honestly, as I'm writing this review, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Since then, I've ordered from them many times, and the quality has remained consistently excellent. The portions are generous, the food is always flavorful, and they've become one of my go-to places whenever I'm in Mississauga. Highly recommended!

It was decorated beautifully, with chic artwork and beautiful music playing on the speaker. We had made reservations in advance however, we then realized that reservations weren't necessary, as the restaurant only had guests at 2-3 tables at that time. We were greeted by a server, whom then brought us to the table that was reserved for us. Upon first being seated, we noticed that this particular server wasn't too friendly; she would complete her duties as required however, she seemed bothered, and didn't seem to be enthused to be serving us. Nonetheless, after placing our orders, we then waited patiently for the food to arrive. We had first settled on the calamari fritti, which were, too overcooked. They were much more crunchier than they should have been, tasting only somewhat more appetizing when dipped in the accompanying sauce. For our main dishes, I had settled on the veal masala with a mushroom sauce, with a side of vegetables and one potato (which I found a bit odd). The veal was tender, however, there was hardly any of it, along with the potatoes, which consisted of, only one potato. The vegetables were plentiful though, which was what filled me up. My mother had settled on the chicken, which one again, had one potato, and too much cream sauce. The pasta that my daughter ordered had a lot of meat in the sauce however, the meat was salty, and the pasta didn't have enough salt on it. Considering the price that we had paid, we were expecting a better array of food alas, we were disappointed. We even asked if complimentary bread was given, with the waitress looking confused. Overall, this restaurant had a great vibe to it however, we didn't find the server to be inviting, along with the food, which wasn't too appetizing. We wouldn't come back to this restaurant, and would reconsider our options for the next time.

In…read morefact, I was only here as we did a search for Italian when I was in the area and saw that it had fairly strong reviews. It's not really a trendy place, with the decor and the menu that could easy fit into 2005 seamlessly - but that's not a bad thing. When we came, they had an anniversary special for $39 which came with an appetizer, a main and a dessert. Both my wife and I opted for it. For appetizers, we chose: a beet salad and a crab cake. For entrees, my wife went with arctic char with roasted potato and veggies. I went with butternut squash ravioli. And for dessert we both got creme brulee. The quality of the ingredients and the food preparation really stood out. My wife absolutely loved her fish and said it was the best she's had in awhile. The sauce from my ravioli was so good that I took the remainder home. We were very happy with the service throughout. It all comes down to execution. If you were to read the menu, it looks pleasant enough, but it might not jump out you either. But I can say that if they're consistent, you will really enjoy your meal and probably have your expectations exceeded.

Please take my review into consideration knowing that I haven't been there in at least 15 years…read more That said, I feel like I owe this restaurant a review because it was such a big part of my life and holds so many wonderful memories for me. When I moved to Canada in 1995, this restaurant was within walking distance of my sister's apartment, so we ate there all the time. Back then, if I remember correctly, they had a buffet for around $15 per person, and it was an incredible value. The food was always fresh, delicious, and plentiful. This restaurant became part of many chapters of my life. When I got married, I brought my husband and his family there because I wanted them to experience the food I loved so much. Later, when I had my children, it became one of the places we would visit whenever we were in Mississauga. At one point, we even lived in Mississauga for about a year and a half, and if we couldn't make it to the restaurant, we would order takeout instead. The amazing thing was that the food was just as delicious at home as it was in the restaurant. The restaurant itself wasn't huge or fancy. It was simple, comfortable, and focused on what mattered most--the food. The staff were always welcoming, and everything seemed to run smoothly. To this day, the lentil soup and the kibbeh are stuck in my head. I honestly think they were some of the best I've ever had in my life. Sadly, I can't enjoy the kibbeh anymore because I have celiac disease and have to avoid gluten, but those flavors are still some of my favorite food memories. I also remember that the mother of the family was involved in the cooking. Whether she is still there, retired, or if the ownership has changed, I honestly don't know. Because it has been so many years since my last visit, I can't speak to how the restaurant is today. What I can say is that the memories I have of this place are wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was great, and it became one of those special restaurants that stayed with me throughout the years. The next time I'm in Mississauga, I plan to stop by and see if the food is still as amazing as I remember. If it is, I know I'll be leaving with a huge smile and a full heart.

Tarboosh Restaurant wasn't on my radar at all, but after Suresh Doss gave it a hearty…read morerecommendation, we figured we should stop by and check it out. We arrived around noon on a recent Saturday and the place was completely empty. A group of four fairly loud men showed up shortly after us and inexplicably sat at a table near us, but that's obviously not the restaurant's fault. The menu contained plenty of tasty-looking entrees, but I figured I'd grab the dish with the name of the restaurant in it: the Tarboosh ("Combination of shawarma and falafel"). The concoction arrived to the table quite a while later, which was weird considering how empty the joint was, and sure looked impressive. I dove right in. Everything on the plate was tasty but not mind-blowing. The chicken shawarma had a few crispy pieces, which was appreciated, but was mostly unreasonably dry. (The two included sauces helped with that, at least.) The falafel was fresh but strangely light. It didn't really have a strong flavor of anything, really. I enjoyed eating it, but it definitely didn't remind me of traditional falafel. The hummus was creamy but lacking in a strong chickpea flavor (i.e. the concoction was overwhelmed by tahini, essentially). However, once I began eating everything together, I began enjoying everything a lot more. The included bread help, too, even though it was far from the best middle-eastern bread I've ever had. Tarboosh is a mixed bag, that's for sure. If you're in the area, it's worth a try. I don't think I would travel to far to check it out, though.

We asked him and he told us that the prices have changed. We asked if he could honor the price on the board as the wrap came up the same but the mixed plate was not even put in as a mixed plate, he had put it in as a chicken plate on the rocks and added the beef, so naturally there was an extra charge. He said that's just the way it is, and it's only a $2 difference. When we asked him for a feedback number, he told us we were being rude for asking about the price difference when it was so minimal and then claimed that there was no beef so we should just take the chicken or leave as he had other customers to attend to and didn't want to serve us anymore. Quite frankly I was scared about what he would do to our food at this point anyways. There were other customers in the line who were wondering what had happened and asked us, he told us not to talk to them. He told us we were free to contact their head office but wouldn't give us his name, or the owner's name or the complaint line. Just said, "you have a phone, go online and figure it out". Then told us that we were free to leave a review online on yelp. Completely unacceptable behaviour to treat customers so poorly and try to flip on us telling us we were the ones being rude for asking him to honour the item and price listed on their board. Will never go there again. Contacted their customer service via online form, no one has reached out and it's been 2 weeks now. Went to Osmosis and got much better treatment and food!
