We will absolutely go back and recommend to anyone looking for good middle eastern food in the area.

Recent visits, I have found they refurnished the space -- it's now much darker, and several smaller tables fill the space now, whereas before, it was filled with long tables and you would be seated beside strangers for your meal. It had a different, lighter and more communal vibe before. Also on recent visits, the staff server are a lot younger -- still warm and welcoming, but with less urgency. So getting assistance takes longer. Although this makes for a nice slow meal, if that's what you're looking for! The food however, is still A+! It's the reason I keep coming back again and again. And why when friends come to visit, Maro's is always in the Top 3 places to try in Halton. They consistently serve up fantastic Lebanese food. If you're dining with a vegetarian -- they will be THRILLED with the options here! I daresay they lead with vegetables here. No one will be disappointed with vegetarian option here -- even the meat eaters. Be sure to check out their drink menu as well. Their cocktails -- and mocktails -- are great. Parking outside is all paid parallel street parking, since it's downtown Oakville. But if you visit on Sundays -- parking is free!

Also anyone pulling into the parking lot is sure to blind you with their headlights so maybe best to pick a seat away from the windows. We ordered the Adonis entrée, the Chicken Shawarma entrée, Lamb Souvlaki entrée, a Shish Kafta entrée and a few Lentil soups. All of the entrees came with the same Rice, Potatoes and Greek Salad. The Lamb was cooked well, and for $30+ it better be. Chicken Souvlaki was drenched in sauce so of course it tasted good. The Kafta was AWFUL. So dry and bland. Every bite was making my mouth dry. What a bummer. The Lentil soup was ok but I feel like it didn't taste as authentic as other places I have been. It could have used more spices. The potatoes that came with the meals were just ok. They didn't taste good or bad. However the rice that came with the meals was bland and tasteless. No saffron or anything. Literally around the corner from this place is a restaurant called Sidra and it serves waaaaaaay better Shawarma, Lentil Soup, Kafta (tikka), and their meals come with amazingly flavorful rice and garlic potatoes. With such a better place nearby I don't know why you would come here instead.

Adonis is by far my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town; much better than Monfort and Agabi in my opinion. Usually I come here for one thing, and one thing only; the Adonis Schwarma on a pita. It is quite similar to the Monfort Chicken on a Pita served at Monfort, but with one brilliant addition - BACON. You get seasoned chicken breast, pineapple, garlic sauce, your choice of a wholewheat or white pita, and the option to have it prepared spicy, plus BACON. Delicious! Additionally, the portion size is larger than at Monfort's, and I prefer the taste of the garlic sauce at Adonis. The service at Adonis is super friendly. You can tell that it is family owned and operated as it is the same staff working whenever I visit. You also know it is good service if every time you leave walking away thinking that the waitress is flirting with you. Me and my friends all feel this way, which is a good way to leave a restaurant. If anything, it does take a while to prepare your order, so I usually call ahead and take it to go. Overall, I highly recommend Adonis. It loses one star for the wait times, but it is certainly one of Oakville's best hidden jewels!

They had recommended I order it and I am glad I did because it didn't stand out to me initially on the menu. The condiments in the sandwich went really well as well. I do highly recommend ordering this! The mama shawarma plate will satisfy any shawarma craving, of course while being plant based. The soy curls were perfectly seasoned and tender. The lentil rice went perfectly well with the soy curls and the sauce. The salad was tasty with vegan feta cheese. I highly recommend ordering this if you are a first timer. I had also wanted to order the cauliflower bites but they mentioned it was going to take too long to make since they had to make it from fresh so I often not to since I was in a hurry. I will definitely come back and order it next time. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you can order a few dishes to share!

Review: Inedible Food and Abysmal Customer Service Rating:…read more1/5 Stars I had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience at Shelby's in Oakville. I ordered the chicken shawarma with sides of salad and fried cauliflower, but what I received was completely inedible. The Food Quality * Burnt Cauliflower: The cauliflower was charred black like charcoal. It was so badly burnt that the bitter, burnt taste ruined the entire dish. * Poor Preparation: The salad contained massive, unchopped pieces the size of my palm. There was clearly zero effort put into food prep or quality control. The Service Experience When I returned to the store to show them the meal, the experience went from bad to worse. While one staff member began making a replacement, the manager intervened and--after a phone call with the owner--refused to provide a new meal or a refund. The staff actually began arguing with me, claiming their fryer is "timed" and therefore the food "must" be perfect. They essentially accused me of lying about the quality because I "didn't like the taste," despite the fact that I was holding charcoal-black vegetables in front of them. The Resolution It was only after a lengthy argument and my statement that I would involve the police to recover my payment for the inedible food that they finally issued a refund. To top it off, the manager made a scene and flatly refused to provide his name or the owner's name so I could file a formal complaint, eventually telling me to leave the premises. Summary: I have never been treated with such disrespect as a paying customer. Between the burnt food and the hostile management, I will not be returning. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values quality and basic customer service.

I liked that it was made fresh to order and came out pretty quick despite having a small rush. I would come back to try their food but wouldn't re order the kunafa.

When we had first walked-in, we were surprised to see how small the restaurant was. However, we then noticed that most of the guests were doing take-out as opposed to dine-in. We were able to find a table for four, which was perfect for us. When we walked-up to the front counter to place our order, we were greeted by a kind hostess, whom took our orders without any issue. We then sat down, and watched as our orders were being prepared. We had to wait about fifteen minutes for all of our meals to be ready. We were surprised to see that the margarita pizza had olives on it, despite not seeing it on the menu. However, we just scooped them off since my children didn't want to eat the olives. For the falafel and kabab wraps, we were surprised to see how large they were, and for only $10.00! The kabab wrap (which I had asked for without onions), had two large pieces of kabab, which filled the wrap, along with the sumac and tomatoes. I enjoyed how tasty the wrap tasted, along with how filling it was. My mother also commented on how delicious the falafel tasted. Considering the prices that we had paid, we certainly go our money's worth! The service was also excellent, as we were brought our wraps directly to our table, while the pizza was placed on the table near to our table. Everyone was kind and considerate, making our stay a pleasant one. There were so many menu items to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down. Will definitely be back to try other items the next time around!
